Some of the apps are crashing, and whenever I'm in Albums app it crashes and says "Insufficient storage space" although I have 97 Gb free space. And it all happened right after my phone was updated.

As many others have, I frequently run into a lack of internal memory on my nexus. I only ever have about 20 mb free. So today I decided to try and figure out what takes up all my internal mem.
I have a stock, non rooted phone running 83d.
I use apps 2sd and dolphin browser with cache on sd
I went to apps2sd and added up all the package sizes of the apps on my phone memory, came up to about 93mb. Yet I only have about 20mb free. That means about 70mb is being used up by other crap. Phone and contact storage is only 2mb each. So what is eating my memory and how can I find out? is there an app that'll chart out internal memory usage by app/file?

93mb of apps is just for the actual app .apk file. app data takes a HUGE amount of space.
most things i've got left on the phone don't really have much associated data from the ones i've checked anyway. Still, can't believe there's no app to show internal mem usage. There's tons of them for the SDcard... Also, diskusage is only for sdcard. I'd still like an easy way to see what's taking up all my internal mem and decide if i want to uninstall it or clear the data or whatever.
As soon as you open diskusage, it asks if you wanna see internal or external...

I like this disk usage app,i find it interesting how the developer used the tap to com on the different layouts and how data is used
Hi all. Today i started experiencing a very peculiar problem. I opened the Camera app and got a message: "Not enough memory". I had some megabytes left actually, but i checked Settings>Storage and it didn't report any available space. I deleted some files (~169 MB). Storage then showed 169 MB of free space. I opened Camera again, same problem. Went to Settings>Storage, 0 space available. Deleted more files(34 MB). Free space 34 MB. Open Camera, same message. Check Storage, no space available. (Settings>Storage Only shows Pictures, video; Audio; Download; Miscellaneous files. Available space is not even shown, but the USB storage bar has a grey part)
My phone is GT-N7000 running on AllianceROM ICS Final, I've been on this ROM for about a month. If more technical information is needed for your answer, just ask.
I have tried: rebooting, clearing data and cache of Camera and Gallery, wiping cache partition.
Any solutions for this problem?
Thanks for your answers in advance!
P.S. Sorry if this question was asked already elsewhere, I wasn't able to find any useful information.
Download an app that will show you what is taking up so much space, just have a look in google play
Also check your data/log file. Delete if lot of memory used there.
So... I deleted 400 more megabytes, and then I got 200 MB free space. If this space doesn't disappear, the problem is gone, I guess. All of this was very strange.
Thanks for the support anyway.
I need people to confirm this for me. Reply and let me know if this worked for you, reporting your free space before, during, and after the install. Since free space does not update, you have to keep opening and closing the details page for free space in the storage settings.
I believe that putting a XAP (freely downloadable from the windows phone store website) onto your SD card and installing *from* the SD card is more efficient. This might help people install large games, especially if they have an issue with a large "Other" taking up space.
I have 264MB of free space left on my 820. If I try to go install Final Fantasy (92MB) it won't let me: it says I'm out of space. However, if I install it from the SD card, it just installs!
However, you still need enough space for the extracted XAP. I kept checking the free space as it was installing, and it went as low as 50MB before jumping back up to 120MB.
Going by that, it seems you need roughly 2.4x the size of the app in free space in order to install it. I'm fairly sure the XAP is *not* copied into local storage, which it would be if you were downloading from the store. This is because I could not install asphalt 7 from the store when I had OVER 3GB free, which is over 3x the size of the xap itself (maybe even 4x!). Of course, I don't know if my findings scale up and I'm not keen on uninstalling asphalt 7 only to find that I can't install it again.

Firsty, I apologize for my poor forum skills.
I am wondering if any gems in the community know of an existing module that is capable of sort of, Removing, Fixing, or Disabling the service or data which notify's google play services that there is not enough storage on a device to install or update an app?
I am not sure if this is a protocol that is implemented in the Android OS or not because when I try to manually install an APK with low storage it is not possible and I get the "insufficient storage" notification.
I am not necessarily counting on a solution per say;
However seeing as how my device is rooted, I would very much like to experience the liberty and satisfaction of truly 'Taking Control' of my device.
To conclude my filibuster,
Is there a module or mod to trick or fool my device into thinking that I have enough storage to install or update an app? I am currently sitting at 420MB of storage and I am a music addict so my options are currently minimal... atleast until I eventually shoot up my photos to DropBox inevitably.
Thanks World!
& Happy Holidays!

Impossible, if you use all the memory reserve you will get in bootloop. or dont recieve sms and email messages
The critical storage is for SYSTEM things, not for install apps
Impossible remove Insufficient storage
My good old S2's default /data partition is 2 GB. On Gingerbread, the "insufficient storage" popped up at about 20 MB left. On Jellybean and KitKat as early as about 200 MB. Recently I repartitioned /data to 4 GB, thought that I will never see "insufficient storage" again. But meeeeep, now it pops up when there are 400 MB left. So Androids app installer wants to have about 10% of /data in reserve. The bigger the partition, the bigger the unusable space gets. Kinda gaga.
So what about an XPosed module that sets this free space limit to some lower limit? Enough for critical things, but small enough to not waste this much space.
Hi guys, I have a brand new Galaxy S6 and started downloading my applications from the playstore. After a dozen applications (not games) I got the error "There is insufficient space on the device". I went to the storage and it says my apps take 1.34GB and 30GB available. Why is it doing this? I cleared the cache and online searches result in the obvious, clearing used space. This is a brand new phone, there is nothing on it yet. Did anyone bump into this problem?
Still can't find the solution but I uninstalled what apps I installed and installed "storage truth" which told me my /data partition was 1.9GB and full. That seems like a tiny fraction of the 32GB that is allotted for applications, and not to mention most of the space is taken up by Samsung apps. Any chance anyone can check their /data partition size using "storage truth"? It might be a glitch, might have to get it repaired
Had this before .have you tried clearing the data for playstore app in application manager
