Question Carrier s21 ultra factory screen protector??? 🤷 - Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra

I've got the att s21 ultra and it doesn't seem to have a factory screen protector.. it has a pull off film with a lil corner tab for easy pull off ..
i believe the ones that come directly from samsung have an actual screen protector.. like the jerry rig everything video.
mine is from at&t

I think there may be a real screen protector underneath that pull off film with the pull tab. Maybe you can pull back a little until the front facing camera to check if there is indeed a screen protector below.

Mine come with a factory protector below the pull off film. It's really well fitted and hard to notice at first, I couldn't work out why my tempered glass protector wasn't seating properly. All the videos I've seen didn't mention it was there. There's a good chance some have simply overlooked its placement.
For the record, my print wouldn't register through both the factory and tempered glass protectors. Might have worked if I'd noticed before hand and took the factory one off first. The tempered one was ugly anyway and had a really obvious hole for the print reader, so I took it off and chucked it. Good use of shipping costs to NZ. Fun times. Hopefully this helps someone else.
Unlocked international model with the Exynos.

Mine came also with an screen protector.
You think fingerprint works so bad because of the protector? because its not that good

I got mine from Bell in Canada and mine has a screen protector but that's exactly what I was thinking, I remember the one on my S20 Ultra being pretty good and I was shocked to see they didn't put on on the S21 Ultra, until I then noticed there IS one and it's just put on so well I didn't even notice it was there, I could just BARELY see a ridge at the edges of the display where it doesn't perfectly line up with the rounded top corners of the display

If you see scratches at a level 2...
The films that came with the S10 series were OK. I really don't call 'em screen protectors though.
Tempered glass is good but curved edges kind of kills it for me. One thing I like about my 12 Pro Max is the flat screen glass. Put a $7 screen glass on it and can't even tell its there. 3 months later still looks new. Plastic not so much.
I remember some review samples of the Note 20 Ultra had the same film as the S10 series. My Note 20 Ultra from Samsung (unlocked) did not, however. It has held up well, over the months and I cannot detect any signs of microscratches in sunlight so that's good.
My S20 Ultra DID have the plastic film on it but my border collie decided to pick it up and carry it in his mouth and the screen film had some marks on it (luckily nothing else LOL) and I ripped it off.

S21 Ultra unlocked direct from Samsung and I just see the cheapo film one on it

That is what everyone is getting. It is not a true screen protector. It is just a film which many people leave it on.

US S21s don't come with a screen protector like the S20s and Note 10s even though other markets like Canada do.

Well if you need a clear screen protector then you can try gadgetshieldz screen protector. I've been using their screen protector for more than 3 months and the quality is still good.

Otao Tempered Glass Screen Protector - Note 8

Received my OTAO Tempered Glass for my Note 8 Today. The Product arrived quickly and was packaged well.
The Package Included : (1) Installation Tray, (1) Glass Protector, (1) Cleaning Cloth, (1) Alcohol Wipe, (1) Sticker for dust/lint removal,
(1) Instruction Card W/Photos, (1) Thank You Card with Contact info for OTAO.
You can purchase them from here : https://www.amazon.com/Tempered-Pro...=1517931940&sr=8-3&keywords=otao+glass+note+8
The un-boxing was fun, was able to lay out everything and see what all came with the product, packaging felt premium and was well tailored to a Note 8 customer. The process to get the tray over device and screen protector on was slightly awkward and honestly if you have a steady hand you could install it without the tray IMO. I used the tray and the protector was installed perfectly center and square so at least there was 0 risk in getting it crooked or anything.
I was really worried about going to full glass protector on a infinity type screen. The curved glass has been hell to cover with anything but liquid glass (that provided 0 real protection) and not interfere with touch / operation.
The screen protector has glue 360* around the glass so there is not any movement or feeling of it being loose or poorly seated. I read other reviews where the glass had become loose or cracked and I can attest that this should NOT be the case. The only way its breaking is a drop or accident that resulted in a good bit of force onto the screen/glass. This protector IS case friendly as well, I tried it with my OtterBox as well as my UAG and neither case lifted or pushed the screen protector in any way!
Overall im really glad I tried the OTAO branded protector, as all the others do NOT have a 360* seal or the ability to work with many cases on the market, and OTAO has both and a really good price!
Check out the photos i took so you can see what to expect! The case in the photos is the UAG Clear Smoked Case btw!
Pros:
Actual Tempered Glass @ a Fair Price ( Under 15$ Shipped )
Has adhesive around the entire glass ( 360 sealed )
Touch response was unaffected / no gaps or air
Cons:
Tray is a little awkward to use, I would say try to do it without if you feel comfortable.
Adhesive around edges seems to be grabbing some lint / hair over time, kinda annoying
Screen has "Dot Matrix" and is slightly visible and certain angles.

I had one like this, another brand, it broke easy. So my question is, did you break it yet?

I did not break it, i had it on my device for 30 days, it was really a decent glass protector, but like me2151 said i did notice the adhesive wasnt nearly as strong as i would have liked.
Otherwise it was a nice all glass protector.
I did not like i could see the dot matrix, and the installer tray was garbage.
Otherwise at the cheaper price compared to the white dome, and seeing people complain about it at 60$ + , its worth the investment for a cheaper one that may last 1/4 of the time but be easily replaced and nearly 1/6 the cost.
I'm on my second one. Not because it broke, but because it popped off when I dropped my note and I got dust beneath. Finally changed it yesterday after weeks with the dust. I know I prolly have micro scratches. I really like this one. But, oh well...
Interesting thoughts.
I am getting a new Note 8 tomorrow and this is in my shopping cart. I have been wondering about this as I have heard traditional screen protectors don't work well on the rounded glass.

Troubles finding a screen protector for the Mate 10 in australia

Hey everyone
I am trying to find a screen protector that has a few features
- easy install
- tempered glass/oleo-phobic
I recently bought some nuglass one and the back film that you pull off with the "back" sticker didnt come off, the sticker did but not the film lol i was so confused.
Anyway, i found this video, looks good but the seller on amazon widamin does not ship to australia
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=df4mVqalPxE
And i also heard the Flosmall one was good, but you have an install kit and apparently have to apply adhesive around the edges yourself which kinda makes me nervous
any help would be appreciated.

Thank you for the response, my question is which one did you buy and how well did it work, there's so many to choose from and that's the problem, i have tried one from ZUSLABS which didnt workout as i explained in the initial post
I bought tempered glass made from MAXSHIELD.
Its really good cover your whole screen.
I'm satisfied. Though my personal favourite brand is NILLKIN but can't see that for mate 10 hence bought MAXSHIELD for $8

Odd, the last Maxshield one i tried was for my Oppo A73/Oppo F5 ( the phone i had before the mate 10 ), and it fit the screen just fine, but only had adhesive around the top and bottom of the protector, and had this odd grid like pattern that you could see if you turned the phone sideways under light, it also had no oleo-phobic coating/finger print resistance, i ended up removing it and it broke all over the screen.
I guess maybe they upped their quality with the mate 10
Honestly, they all stink. The problem with the ones that have black edges is that they pretty much don't work with a case, as the case will pry the protector off. The Nillkin is the best I've seen and tried, but it doesn't cover the edges because the edges are curved (the ones with black edges are just hiding the curved edge from sight btw).
I spent money on quite a few and sent all of them back except the Nillkin, which actually shattered and I don't know how. I never dropped it. Anyway, pretty much since the start of 2018 I've been going naked. I will admit if you hold my phone up to the light there are 3-4 extremely minor scratches around the bottom right of the screen (which incidentally is where I touch the screen the most with my right thumb).
I know even small scratches bother some people, but it's not like you would ever see them with the screen on or feel them with your finger. I wouldn't even know they were there if I never went looking for them.

Galaxy Note 8 Case Thin Fit 360 - With integrated glass protector

https://www.spigen.com/collections/...-note-8-case-thin-fit-360?variant=36835984257
This is the new galaxy note 8 cover from Spigen, does anyone got this? This is still unavailable in Europe.
Someone who own this could tell if you have any touch issue? Thanks in advance
its on amazon for only 17.99. see if you can order it through there instead.
I had the spigen glass protector with a different case, the 20 minutes the protector lasted on the phone I needed to do everything 3 times to get a response. Protector came off in my pocket, cut the lining of my suit and scratched me. Spigen didn't even respond to me via amazon when told. I have bought spigen for years, never again.

i can't, i must wait a few weeks that it comes to europe
I just got mine in today. I have a black Note 8, but got the deep sea blue case to add a bit of color to my life. The color is awesome, the fit of the case is great, but the screen protector is just okay. It took a minute to get it aligned properly, but it definitely feels like the touch sensitivity is worse and catches finger prints and smudges pretty easily. I typically don't use screen protectors, so it's a big difference for me. If they had an option for the case without the screen protector for a cheaper price, I would've gone with the case only, but since the screen protector came with it, I figured I'd give it a shot. If things don't work out, I'll just peel off the screen protector. The case is awesome though, I'm coming from a Speck presidio grip case, and am very happy with the Spigen 360.
Thanks for the info. i guess i'll take it asap. It just need to pop on amazon EU
Got my case today. I like the feel of it. Super low profile. Only thing I don't like are the connection joints. Some of them are flared out slight. Must be the material.
For the screen protector. I used the diy loca glue technique. I had extra laying around from my whitestone. Looks very nice. Have two bubbles but they are not in my "normal" touching zones and should have no negative effect. I'll post pics shortly
Pics. As mentioned earlier

Good screen protector with fast shipping

Hi guys. As the factory screen protector is garbage I am looking for options. Some I found on amazon.de, however it seems like they should be compatible with Mi10/Mi10 Pro and Mi10 Ultra, didn't know they all have the same screen dimensions and curvature. I would be keen to get a hydrogel type of coating, preferably for front and back, but I realize it may be challenging to find. I wil appreciate if somebody can recommend anything.
I asked liaow who don't stock them. Other Mi phones have the same screen dimensions though..
So I just bought the ones for the mi 10 / pro, they fit perfectly

Is it a glass one or flexible? I don't care for flexible screen protectors at all because they don't protect from screen shatters as much. And just because a flexible one fits doesn't mean a tempered glass one designed for a slightly different phone would.
Obviously you've not seen the other thread on this but I swapped mine for a hydrogel one a couple of weeks ago. Got mine from AliExpress for 10 ultra, fit superb and of course with hydrogel, you can remove and put back on, any bubbles go after a couple of days if you do get any when fitting and the best thing, they are really good at self healing. Took 10 days to arrive but well worth the wait.

Any link to the hydrogel?
https://www.google.com/amp/s/h5.aliexpress.com/item/4001359436459.html
But there loads out now on Wish or Ali. Should be at other vendors very soon as the grows in popularity. Obviously more on these sites due to its Chinese only release
I've ordered a screen protector from amazon UK.
It says it works on the Ultra, the Pro and the plain Mi 10
I'll report back if it works I think you can use any Mi 10 range protector. (for what it's worth gsmarena comparison backs this up)
Well it sucks. Did not reach all around the screen. It also didn't seem tall enough. Be wary of buying a Mi Pro protector

ah well, that sucks. I remember my Note 8 and 9 tempered glass protectors never worked with cases, so i went for the gel screen protectors which worked with any case.
after 6 months i went to tempered glass and bare back with a grippy sticker.
i think this phone might be the same, leaving the original protector on and using the 6 cases i have, then no case with tempered screen protector
you can buy uv screen protector on taobao.com or aliexpress.com
The original factory screen protector is indeed not the best. It's a dust magnet for some reason, and scratches easily. I took it off and replaced it with a tempered glass one made for the 10 pro. Fits like a glove.

K gonna try a 10 Pro glass protector. Not really out at all these days so no real need.
I bought two glass screen protectors from Aliexpress that you cure with the UV liquid/light. It's the perfect size and leaves very small gaps at the top and bottom of the display.

link, please?
I've ordered one of these from Amazon UK
Quite happy to use hydrogel, the only dislike on this one is the cut-out for camera... previous one for Find X2 Pro didn't have that which made for a cleaner finish.
Follow-up: Horrendous bit of kit, don't get this one! The USB plug moves around and the poles to line up the protector don't line up the punch hole correctly. All sorts of other problems, but those are the main two.
Where did u order it? Could u please leave a link?
Just got this IMAK hydrogel protection. Applied it a couple of hours ago. It has cutout for front camera. It is easy to align and apply, and fits very well to the edges of the screen. It covers curbed part of the screen as well. Just watching how quick remaining bubbles are going away. Amazing. I hope that the edges of case would not touch the edges of protection. Have to wait a little bit more in order to check this.

Question Did you remove your preinstalled screen protector?

Really curious. It's next to impossible to get a replacement here in the states. Does it bother you, or have you left it on? Please respond with your logic as well as answering the poll.
Mi 11 series all have similar screen. Considering early release of mi 11, it shouldn't be a big issue. I received a glass protector in 10 days from China.
And why would you remove it? Is bad?
It depends how you use your phone.
If you "baby" it you should be more than fine.
On my mi9 i have removed for the past year or more. I only have one or two very fine scratches and those are from some drops
So yeah, on general use and being a bit careful ( using a case that would prevent the screen to make contact to the surface) you should be perfectly fine.
I personally have the one that came with the phone still on and will remove it when it gets worn out.

Thanks for this tip. I did a quick look up on GSM arena. Screens seem to be identical size and shape. I went ahead and ordered two packs of protectors from Amazon. They'll be here Sunday.
My original protector got caught on the edge of a dog cage in the most unfortunate scenario ever. My phone was okay but the screen protector had a huge gash in it.
I've gone with no protector for about a week. I've collected one tiny scratch that can only be seen with the screen off and the light hitting it just the right way. I've babied this thing so I'm not sure how it happened. Either way Gorilla glass victus hasn't impressed me all that much.
oleophobic coating on this screen protector is iiiiinsane ! I surprised that no one said that yet. But I hate sharp edges on it.... Gestures and that no good together

Curved screens are a flawed design imo
This is what I would classify as a highly breakable device
Between the weight of it and the slab of glass on the back and the wrap around screen your nearly guaranteed a breakage no matter what side it lands on.....
Gorilla glass Victus is junk compared to whatever is on the iPhone 12 pro
In every drop test I've watched the android phone with Victus smashed and the iPhone survived.... although the iPhone has the benefit of being flat
Yeah ditched the screen protector as soon as I got it.
It looks like a peel off screen protector which you get on new devices.
Colors and sharpness improves a bit and the touch is not plastic feel.
I like the screen protector. It feels almost the same like OnePlus7 Pro without a screen protector.
I keep it as long as possible
Hello do you need to remove originally pre installed plastic film protection before putting a newly bought tempered glass ?? Thanks for answering
Hi - I would not use 2 screen protectors at the same time. So if you want to put tempered glass on you should remove the preinstalled one. Otherwise you can get difficulties with the touch screen. I myself removed the preinstalled immediately and installed another (better) on.
Remove it or not eventually it will come off, better get hands on some tempered glass to protect those expensive curvy screen.
i dropped my phone about a week after buying it, was sick to stomach until i realized that the preinstalled screen protector was cracked but not the actual phone. im pretty sure it saved the phone
Many people think that pre-aplied screen protector is a feature therefore, they expect to see a better quality option. In reality, due to strict laws of EU and return policy of retailers such as Amazon, they want phone to be as much refurbishable as possible with given protection . That is why, we get a cheap quality phone case and screen protector that can barely live 4 weeks of legal limit and are really ugly non-characteristic additions. They have to make it looking boring because other case producers have to earn money too. So, my suggestion is change the original screen protector with a liquid self-repair one and buy a sturdy case for your own sake.
I don't see why you would wanna do that unless it breaks or you wanna install a better sturdier screen protector, keep the old one if it doesn't bother you.
