Hi!
Is there any solution without rooting for good quality call recording on S21 Ultra?
Okay, i know it google disabled this function since android 9/10. But on Mate20Pro there is an apk thats working on android 10 with good quality, recording microphone and incoming voice.
Every apps i tried works only on microphone side. Incoming voice is weak and bad quality, its only recorded through microphone if you set up the volume.
Any solution? Thanks!
I am also in your situation, I tried to flash with ODIN firmware THL but nothing to do, the phone always remains with csc OMN, unusable for me without call recorder, thanks for suggesting a solution.
Call Recorder - Record Phone Calls From the Line (skvalex.com)
Have you tried that yet? Works perfectly on my S20 Ultra, but haven't (yet) set up my S21 Ultra, so haven't tried it.
it's the program I've been using for 4 years. I bought the full version, but without the native recorder you can't hear the voice on the other side
Not working...

the only solution for me till now , is to flash XID home csc that will not wipe ur mobile .
i have exynoss s21 ultra , my csc was MID/MID/MID/XSG
now its XID/XID/XID/XSG
i got ota update.
and my csc was oxm multi csc .
xid not multi csc its OLE csc .
that why it work for me , THL not work coz its multi oxm csc same xsg or mid so will nit change till u use THL sim card.
the problem is that whatever firmware I try to flash with ODIN it seems that the phone does not see it and remains with previous firmware, I notice this because the progress bar never reaches the end and restarts first restarting with oxm firmware

your suggestions seem to work, I want to thank you infinitely
@peppegrecio
Does the Skvalex Call Recorder now work?
Yes
Could you please post a link to the XID HOME_CSC
Is that the only file that needs to be flashed?
My current CSC is BTU/BTU,BTU/EUX/BTU ... will the XID work ?
Thank you
I'm here to report that thanks to @carlitobahsoun I was able to get native call recording working.
The steps are as follows.
1. Download the Indonesian firmware. You can download it from Sammobile here and I uploaded it to MEGA here
2. Download Odin tool. from same page on Sammobile or MEGA here
3. Unpack both files.
4. Run Odin and attach the files on the right side as shown in the attached image. Note, in the CSC field, If you want to keep your data and not format your phone use HOME_CSC. To format it use CSC_.
I used HOME_CSC.
5. Put the phone in DFU mode. While the phone is unplugged and adequately charged and completely off. Plug the USB to your PC, then hold both volume buttons and then plug the USB .
6. Click Start. It will take some time and should say Pass in green color and it will reboot automatically.
That's it.
use cube ACR download it on playstore.

I'm a total newb, so please excuse my ignorance. I'm on a Verizon s21U in the U.S. Do I need to root to do this? Adding this feature does not wipe anything on the phone? (It's new, so not a major issue, but I'd have to reload apps and configure everything again, which I'd gladly do for call recorder to work again.) Thanks very much!

This works for me, thanks! I'm wondering if the solution above would work better or if it uses the same functionality.

Hi All,
Can someone please guide me to a method, if any, to change the CSC of an N9600 model CSC which is currently TGY to INS?
This is to make VoLTE work via the phone dialer instead of using the external Jio4GVoice app.
Is this possible? I know my version is the snapdragon and the Indian version is Exynos 960F or 960FD.
I want to know if the CSC file is processor specific? Can 'only CSC' be flashed via ODIN? If yes, where can i find the CSC files with fast download?
Would it trigger Knox and disable Google/Samsung Pay?
Can someone please provide their inputs?

I don't think this will work because the .PIT or partition file is in the CSC image. You would likely require the entire firmware image set to get the support files, frameworks for the dialer. It is not only a matter of a new CSC / region code change.

So, just for further clarity, I don't want to trip knox or lose samsung/google pay options.
These are my original ROM files:
AP_N9600ZHU1ARJ6_CL14505206_QB20159198_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT_meta.tar.md5
BL_N9600ZHU1ARJ6_CL14505206_QB20159198_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
CP_N9600ZCU1ARJ6_CP10967940_CL14505206_QB20159196_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
CSC_OMC_TGY_N9600TGY1ARJ6_CL14505206_QB20159198_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
HOME_CSC_OMC_TGY_N9600TGY1ARJ6_CL14505206_QB20159198_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
I want to know if i could flash the following files in odin and still have knox and other stuff intact?
AP_N9600ZHU1ARJ6_CL14505206_QB20159198_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT_meta.tar.md5
BL_N9600ZHU1ARJ6_CL14505206_QB20159198_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
CP_N9600ZCU1ARJ6_CP10967940_CL14505206_QB20159196_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
CSC_OMC_OXM_N960FOXM2ARK2_CL14366801_QB20490073_REV00_user_low_ship.tar.md5
HOME_CSC_OMC_OXM_N960FOXM2ARK2_CL14366801_QB20490073_REV00_user_low_ship.tar.md5
If yes, which CSC should i choose in this scenario, Home_CSC or CSC_? I don't mind a factory reset.
The only thing i'm looking for is to have the CSC changed to a multi-CSC which is the OXM version without tripping Knox and Pay features.
Would the PIT file/partition entries be different in N960F and N9600?
I have noticed the .pit file in the extracted CSC files and they have the model numbers written in it when checked with np++.
Also, would this kind of an inconsistency trip knox?
Bump. Can someone please provide me any info.
As far as I know, there isnt a way to use Snapdragon CSC on Exynos without root, so you will be out of luck, also because CSC file is signed with Samsung key, so cannot flash your own without tripping Knox

Yes i did that and the sim is in slot 1 only i even removed the other sim from sim 2 slot. I did reset the phone twice like you mentioned in the previous post.
What could i be doing wrong? When you say you're able to enable VoLTE, you're not using the Jio4GVoice app for calling and all right?

No i think you have the ARJ3 and i have the ARL3. i dont know if that makes a difference.
The thing is i'm unable to find a download for your firmware version N9600ZHU1ARJ3.
Can you please provide me a screenshot of the firmware page in Phone Info app from playstore?
I followed a guide by XDA User applepay from this link, but just wanted to try and simplify it because i found it pretty complicated to understand at first.
It would be worth reading that thread before this even if it doesn't make sense. Please also read this complete thread before you attempt it.
I have only followed the guide so i can't answer any questions to help. I am not responsible for any problems you run into. This is just a guide of what I did to get mine to work.
I was successful using my SM-N960F going from CSC XME to TEL.
I cannot confirm that this method will work on other models, but i don't see why not considering the guide was originally for a S9.
Make sure you select your exact model when downloading files and flashing files. Using other model firmware may brick your phone.
Backup your files! I used Smart Switch on windows. This method will wipe your phone in the process.
Use the original usb cable you got in the box and install the Samsung USB drivers if you haven't already.
I have confirmed on my device that OTA updates work fine after this procedure.
Please comment if you think there is a better way or there is an error in this guide.
Download your combination file from here
Download your new CSC firmware from here
Download Samsung Odin 3.13.1 from here
Download RealTerm from here
1. Open Odin.
Click AP and select your combination file.
Put your Note 9 into download mode by turning it off completely, then holding the volume down and bixby buttons while inserting the usb cable. Confirm that you want to enter download mode.
Click start in Odin.
Once this is complete, your phone should boot into the combination firmware and show your model number. Close Odin.
2. Open RealTerm and go to Port tab.
Set Baud to 230400 and Select Port to ssudmdm0000 or very similar name.
Click the change button.
Go to Send tab.
Enter "AT" and click Send ASCII.
If you get a response like
"+USB READY
BOOTING COMPLETED
AT"
or
"AT"
or
"OK"
or
"BOOTING COMPLETED
AT"
Proceed to the next number.
If you didn't get a response click +CR and send again.
If you get a response like "ERROR" proceed to the next number.
Still if you didn't get a response check your phone status and cable status.
If everything is normal proceed to the next number.
If still you didn't get a response it means your phone or cable is not normal status.
3. Enter "AT+PRECONFG=1,0" and click Send ASCII.
You will get this response.
AT+PRECONFIG=1,0+PRECONFG:1,???
OK
-??? is your current CSC.-
4. Enter "AT+PRECONFG=2,???" and click Send ASCII.
Enter ??? you want to change to another CSC.
You will get this response.
AT+PRECONFG=2,???+PRECONFG:2,OK
OK
-??? is your changed CSC.-
5. Enter "AT+PRECONFG=1,0" and click Send ASCII.
You will get this response.
AT+PRECONFIG=1,0+PRECONFG:1,???
OK
-??? is your changed, current CSC.-
6. CSC change is now complete. You can now close RealTerm.
7. Open Odin again.
Turn your phone off and then put it into download mode again by holding the volume down and Bixby buttons, then plugging the usb cable in.
Fill each field (BL, AP, CP and CSC) with their respective files from the firmware which has the new CSC.
Use the CSC file in the CSC field, not HOME_CSC.
Click start. This will now wipe your phone completely.
8. Your phone should boot into android and everything should be complete!
Enjoy using VoLTE, VoWiFi and RCS!
Many thanks! Will give it a go.

Odin still won't let you flash firmware files from an other phone model. which is a good thing since csc.md5 contains a pit file that is very much phone model specific....you dont want that. home_csc.md5 dosent but regardless Odin should still throw an error. I wouldint be game to test with the prince Comey edition of Odin that allows you to do this forcefully apply wrong model firmware file. might work... or not
how about future OTAs after ? if I flashed TMO csc will I get all TMO OTAs in future ?

My phone was up to date before I used the latest combination file for my model on that site. I didn't get any errors about downgrading.
As far as OTAs, I'm not sure yet, but worst case is you just need to flash new firmwares by Odin. I think it's definitely worth the trade off to get volte, vowifi and RCS if that's the case

[Updated][ETH1]
If you only want the firmware and know what you're doing, then links will be at bottom.
If possible, Use the original charging cable that came with your phone, as sometimes there can be errors if you use an aftermarket cable.
If you don't know how to flash or convert from U to U1, read on.
As a precaution, I recommend removing your SIM card and SD card before flashing!
THIS WILL RESET YOUR PHONE!
Firstly, Download the modified Odin below as well as the firmware.
Step 1. Ensure that you have the Samsung drivers for mobile devices installed (which will also be linked below.)
Step 2.Extract the Firmware Zip that you downloaded, Open the modified Odin and click on the BL box, Then select the corresponding BL file.
Click the AP box and select the AP file, Do the same with the CP and CSC files by putting the matching file name into the corresponding boxes.
Step 3.Ensure USB Debugging is enabled and then shut down the phone. Then hold (In this order) Volume Down, Bixby, and Power button until you get to the Download mode warning screen.
Press the Volume Up button.
Step 4. Plug in the phone, and check Odin to ensure you see a blue box that says COM (also has a number at the end)
Step 5.Press Start in Odin and wait till you see pass, if it says PASS, The flash was successful and within about 10 minutes your phone will boot into the welcome screen.
If you are converting from the U firmware to the U1 firmware then you will have no carrier bloatware should have better performance and possibly better battery life as well.

in step 2 you say "Open the modified Odin and click on the BL box, Then select the corresponding BL file.
Click the AP box and select the AP file, Do the same with the CP and CSC files by putting the matching file name into the corresponding boxes."
Yet you only provided the ROM file. Where does the ROM file go and are there other files to flash that go in the CSC, CP BL and AP boxes?

Did you extract the zip? All of the files should be inside the zip.
I'll redownload them to check and make sure.

i have not finished downloading the rom file, i did not know the files were zipped inside, i think it would help if you mentioned this as i was ust going to flash the file whole as i downloaded it.

Yes it will work on any USA Note 9.
Thank you for bringing that to attention, I will update the thread, I apologize for the confusion.
I'm glad everything worked out okay! I'm at work right now so i apologize for the delayed replies.
Do you have lags/stutters on this firmware? (Especially on lock screen with none infinity wallpaper
when swiping down quick panel?)
Thanks converted AT&T to unlocked and everything is perfect
Will flashing u1 remove a carrier sim lock?

Call recording is only available on certain international firmware. It's a CSC feature that isn't available on the U.S. firmware. If you have root you can add the call recording feature to your CSC and that will be the only way to get call recording unless you find the specific international firmware that has it enabled but that firmware may not be best suited for your carrier/region. Also, enabling call recording will replace the call waiting & "add call" button which will make 3-way calls and ability to answer call waiting a problem. For this reason I always chose to not enable call recording. However, with root you can change csc anytime you need call recording and revert when you no longer need it. If I remember correctly, you also have to do a factory reset when adding the call recording in CSC because the csc/settings database is created on first boot only and adding this line in CSC after the phone has already booted and created it's CSC database will not enable call recording. It must be done on a fresh boot after a wipe/restore. I wanted to give you a heads up based on my experience so you know what to expect. Root is going to be mandatory unless you find the international firmware (rare) that has call recording enabled from Samsung.
Hi,
Here is my note 9 info (8.1.) from AT&T carrier, but I am not living in US.
- Model: SM-N960U
- Firmware: PDA version: N960USQU1ARH2 / CSC version: N960UOYN1ARH2
- Actice CSC code: XAA
- Service Provider:
SAOMC_SM-N960U_OYN_XAA_OO_0007
XAA/XAA/ATT
So can I use the firmware N960U1UES1CSD1 which is uploaded in this thread to flash my phone into 960U1 ?
Or should I use the firmware N960U1UES1CSD1 which is specified for XAA ?

Sorry as I have to modify the link since I am new and unable to comment outside URL after 10 posts.

As far as i know u can flash any firmware related to N960U, N960U1 and even N960W.
for specific carriers after flash u will have their bloatwares .
Will a N960U converted this way take OTA updates in the same way that a phone that started out as a N960U1 would?
Is there a way I can make this work on a Linux based OS?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
Is this XAA region??

Which step on the link did you exactly do? There are many options.
Any update on this? I have S21 Ultra with TPA and I want to change the CSC to BTU. I am in Canada and I hope this will help with faster updates. Also I am having problems with slow 4G uploads, and faster updates might be the solution.
Thank you..

If your device is SD then you won't be able to get BTU.
If it is exynos then you can flash the BTU firmware.
Your 4g speeds may be slow if you do not have the correct csc files for your provider. Eg: having BTU for Rogers may not get your the speeds you are looking for.

I used the link in this tread and I selected BTU, but I did not pay attention that it was mentioned that is Single. Now I have BTU, but I have some problems receiving SMS and I cannot go back to TPA. When I try *#272* IMEI# it does not do anything. Any idea what I have to do to go back to Dual SIM?

You will not be able flash Canadian CSC on an exynos device.
First you have to root the device and Either you or some else will have to edit the canadian csc file to make it compatible wtih exynos.
Some one has done for me in the past with note 8 but that dev is no longer in XDA.
The other option is to root and then copy the required csc files.
With this there is a high chance that the imeir related files can get corrupted.

You can flash any other file with multicsc.
There is no reason for you not recieve sms with BTU csc. However, if it does happen fhe csc firmware that is the original one. i.e look at the third tri letter in the csc info.(this third letter never changes , more like hard coded)
I do get SMSs but, I was not able to get one from my bank. The 3rd 3 letters are still TPA. I do not know if it is normal, but the dual sim menu has much fewer options. I can choose from what sim to call only after I dial at least one digit. And When I try to activate Dual sim always on, the toggle still stays off.
For the Canadian CSC, I suspected that it will be impossible to flash. I used to be on TPA and now I am on BTU, I had problems slow upload speed on 4G. Now is a bit better, but the download is staying around 50-75. before I had 160-300 Mbps.
Where I can get Multicsc and do I have to root the phone?
Thank you.

Rooting won't help you much with signal or speed of data, unless you have to flash some modified csc files.
Your problem could also be the absence of the required bands, whuch may be lacking in exynos.
I have a SD version ( decided to go wtih non root this time as most of the things that need root can be done with adb anyways. Also there is root for SD too these days) so cannot help you much.

I am missing only one band, and this is not a problem. B29 in LTE. Al the rest are there. My question was more like is it normally to loose t some fucntciuts of Dual sim manager and and is there an easy way to change back and forth CSC without rooting. I do not want to root. Thank. you

Chainging csc is easy by flashing the CSC file. Rooting won't affect it. Rooting has its downsides.
Your loss of dual sim fn could be related to csc but BTU should support full dual sim fn.

Can you explain more or a guide ?
I have a question that's burning my mind... So, I have the 998B/DS (CSC TPA) international version which of course has international 5G bands, but not US bands... I do have to travel a lot to the US.. if I want to have the 5G bands for US does changing my CSC and changing firmware to match CSC work? Is this something SAMKEY can do?
yep I know, sounds like a really badly structured question

oh yes, I can confirm it is perfectly working Samkey 3.50.5 or above for changing CSC, already done that 2 days ago
but pay attention, changing CSC is possible only between the available CSCs that are included in existing firmware
worth mentioning that this operation costs only 1 credit, dose not require root, does not trigger Knox (so warranty ok) and does not reset your phone,; only need to activate USB debugging from Developer Options when inserting USB cable to PC and set your phone on Airplane Mode/ remove SIM.

I changed my CSC but I did not remove SIM, because I have eSIM installed and I cannot disable it. Did I do it wrong? CSC changed in the phone menu and I got OTA updates for the new CSC (ROM); however, factory CSC stayed at ORO. Is it because I did not activate airplane mode first?
