Looks like no one has ordered the case I’ve decided to go with, so I’ll post a small review after I use it. I ordered the Case-Mate case in Iridescent Swirl.
My personal phone is an iPhone 12 Pro Max and I’m using the official Apple leather case; it’s leagues ahead of every/any case I’ve ever used for any phone. Particularly, the button tactility makes the case near perfect and a joy to use. The S21 Ultra will be a business phone so I’m looking for something that’ll at least compare in terms of quality to the Apple leather case.
Finding a case similar in quality means looking at Samsung and their official leather case, so I’ll order one when the preorder credit kicks in. But the Case-Mate case looks great (love the finish!) and it looks like it has excellent button tactility. Hopefully it’s worth its $40 price tag.
Any recommendations for a clear, thin case? I'm between:
Samsung's clear cover: https://www.mobilefun.co.uk/official-samsung-galaxy-s21-ultra-clear-cover-case-transparent-83897

i used my 260$ credit to get the u21 ultra "case with spen", i also order the spen separately.
now i have 2 spen. samsung should be more clear on their description. i thought case with spen means case with spen slot.
anyone know any aftermarket case with spen slot?
samsung black case with spen slot is getting boring.
Noreve.com Tradition C with 2 creditcard slots (Addiction leather), fits also perfekt to S20 Ultra case.
I have the SUPCASE Unicorn Beetle Pro and have use their case on my Note 10 Plus & Note 8 (and I think the S7). It doesn't have a built in screen protector with I didn't want anyway. Comes with a belt clip which I like having while I'm working. Solid choice for $20.

Went with official samsung leather case in black, love the camera protection and leather should feel epic in hand compared to all plastic, ruberry cases. Next will be UAG Monarch in carbon fiber, but i need to import it or wait till it be available here, also interested in pitaka magnetic cases, now I use a plate beneath the case and it gets hot when wireless charging dunno if it's bad for the phone, heat is never good.

BORING.
i already have the samsung oem case with spen slot.
i was hoping for a case with different color or clear.
I have the Samsung Case too - and agree that it would be nice to have a clear version - fingers crossed...
Nearly impossible to find asking official cases for sale in the US. Specifically the TPU case.
I've got Samsung Leather Cover
Pros:
- cool look
- the phone is very firmly attached to it
- does not enlarge the dimensions of the phone too much
- protects the island with cameras well
Cons:
- it doesn't stick out too much from the screen side, so it's a bit dangerous to put the screen down
- skin prone to scratching (damage)
- the phone sways a little when you put its back down
- it's hard to take it off the phone, I'm afraid that I will damage it when I will try to remove the phone from it
- it holds in the hand on average, but still a bit better than a bare phone
Tomorrow will try Ringke Onyx.

Thanks for this report. What has concerned me about this case, from reports here and on Amazon and Best Buy reviews is the durability. You say "skin prone to scratching...". You are seeing this already or understand that it will, with time, show wear/damage?

I use it only the second day, so it's hard to say, I try to take care and do not expose the case too much in case I want to return it to the seller (EU law, up to 14 days from buying). However, it seems to me that it will wear out quickly when you don't care where you put your phone.

Decided to go with the Ghostek Nautical. It's a nice case with excellent protection, including an integrated screen saver. The two downsides are that the S-Pen is very difficult to remove and headphone use requires an extender, which dose not come with the case. It reminds me of the Otterbox Galaxy S7 Edge case that had an integrated screen protector.
I've seen at least three other cases with integrated screen savers (all available through Amazon) but have no experience with these:
1) Love Mei Water Resistant Shockproof Aluminum Metal Super Anti Shake Silicone Fully Body Protection for Samsung Galaxy Note 8
2) Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Case, SUPCASE Full-body Rugged Holster Case with Built-in Screen Protector for Galaxy Note 8
3) i-Blason Galaxy Note 8 Case, Shock Reduction / Full body Bumper Case with Built-in Screen Protector for Samsung Galaxy Note 8
I have the UAG Monarch on order. I've been using their cases with every single phone that had one available for as long as I can remember. I always had their standard cases (now called Pathfinder) but they apparently aren't making those for the Note 8 and I hate the transparent cases. So this is my first Monarch, I'm sure I'll love it just the same.
I have the Ghostek Nautical. It's not to great to be honest.
The photos when using flash are blurry and have the halo light effect.
You cannot get the S-Pen out unless you have small fingers or use another object to try to remove it.
It's kind of depressing because this case was awesome for my galaxy s8. Only reason why I decided to use it for my note 8.
I got a Nautical, and honestly its not worth anything near the amount sold for.
The one i got the power button did not work unless you hit it with a hammer. The fingerprint cut out was not aligned with the phone. The plastic feels cheap. and due to a reflection from the case, its impossible to take a photo with flash with the cover on.
Highly disappointed.

I'd say go with the OtterBox Defender, tried and true. If you are paying $60 for a case might as well go with the Defender.
I understand wanting to protect the phone, but looking at these cases they are unbelievably bulky. Sturdy yes but wow, the added bulk. What are you guys doing with your phones that you need such a massive case? I'm genuinely curious as my last case was a Bear Motion for the Pixel and it didn't even cover the top and bottom. And even now I'm only using the Rinke smoke TPU case.

I have a thick protective case instead of paying monthly then a deductive for insurance, especially nowadays that everything is glass the phones are too vulnerable to drops. Sure I'd love to rock the phone "naked" and show off the amazing design but if I dropped it I would be extremely pissed I just broke a $1000 phone.
I don't understand why some find it to be a problem that others want to protect their 1000 dollar investment some ppl work in accident prone jobs we need protection I don't like spending multiple 1000s repeatedly.
Sent from my SM-N950U using XDA-Developers Legacy app
I bought a Ghostek Nautical for my Galaxy Note 9. The s-pen cover does not close. After complaining to Ghostek and demanding a replacement case or refund, Ghostek agreed to send a replacement. It took two months to arrive. The s-pen cover on the replacement case also doesn't close. Don't waste money on their case..

I've been thinking about this myself. I've just put on a case because I know when putting the phone down, the first thing that touches the surface will be the camera module. Also since the module is just metal this time, I figure the paint will be the first thing to scuff off.
A glass protector might be a bit thick.
Don't use the full glass that covers the camera lens - the gap will cause condensation since it's not on the surface of the lens.
Skins or the aluminium ones with the cutouts should work fine.

Simply use a good case with raised guards around the cam module. It's protective lense cover is replaceable anyway. Don't use it as a finger hold...
That's all I have on the 10+ and I live in the dusty desert. Zero scratches so far.
Carefully clean with a dry microfiber cloth as needed.

My Bolt case has a raised 5-6 mm guard on the cam/sensor modules.
Case selection is limited for this new phone.
Check out the Zizo Bolt when it becomes available. It's my favorite case; it can take a hit, is easy to hold and use. Also has slightly raised guards for the display, good corner hit protection but still fairly compact.
I bought whitestone glass screen protector for the camera when I first removed the plastic. It has held up for the few days I've had the phone. It does cover the lens with glass so it should protect them. Had plastic film on my S10+ but came off when I wasn't looking and didn't seem like I needed the protection though as the camera is not scratched or cracked..

The hood on high dollar lens isn't there just to reduce flaring, it helps protect the lense from direct contact. Even in falls it does this quit well.
Likewise your case should have good raised protection to help avoid contact with anything.
Poor cleaning techniques are the next biggest hazard. Keep your fingers off it and use only a microfiber cloth to clean it. Dirt, sand, grit doesn't scratch it unless you rub it. Wait to clean it if you can't do it right at that moment. Use a blower bulb the remove loose sand etc before you use the microfiber cloth.

Ok just an update I thought i would try camera protection so i brought a couple they were glass type ones day time pics were not bad but night pictures i kept getting lens flare. So i took off the protector and lens flare was gone. So i thought I would let you know of my result using glass type.
Are the Whitestone Dome ones any good?
It will be good to have som addon for camera to protect.

I just have to say that the tempered glass ones suck. Because of the metal frame, they use some kind of strong adhesive to get the tempered glass to adhere. It's impossible to remove without the glass shattering. I managed to remove the tempered glass camera protector but it managed to scuff/scratch the matte black metal around the cameras... sucks.

Wow that does suck mine was sticky but lucky enough managed to get it off without any problems.
I'm just worried that the sticky glass might damage the flat black paint on the camera hump when you try to remove it?
So Karl and company asked for my honest review of the new type R clear backed case in exchange for a free case.
After using the original rugged case as my daily driver I was wanting something with similar protection but slimmer, as the S21 Ultra is a large phone & the rugged case makes it larger and heavier. I had been switching between that and Nillikin slim case which was minimal (basically like carrying the phone bare), and offered a bit of protection for the back, but not much else.
Enter the new Armadillotek type R clear case It offers almost as much protection as the original, but in a slimmer version with a clear back so those of you with different colored backs can show off teh beauty of the device, My black version doesn't really show all that well in it.
The clear back is prone to fingerprints and smearing, but that's to be expected. it doesn't interfere with wireless charging, there a couple of nice bumps on two of the corners surrounding the camera module that helps protect those pretty lenses from getting damaged in a fall.
The rim of the front is also raised at the corners to protect the screen. and of course the coroners are well cushioned so if the phone falls on to them damage will be minimized at worst, or eliminated at best.
All in all I think I found my final case. It's too new to tell if the clear back will yellow over time but I guess we'll find out. One strange thing the back of the case bears the name Caseborne rather than Armadillotek, perhaps the true manufacturer?
wow, I only have the Vanguard from karl, this looks nice
Link, please?
I have the vanguard and it's awesome. the only case so far that actually fits the glass screen protector i got without trying to lift the screen up.
I really wish they made a version that holds the s pen as well.

Filip's case? The sides are exposed, this one seems like a better protective case.
Hello,
I just want the slimmest case for the Ultra and was about to get this one:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08THKYZ8K/ref=ox_sc_act_title_4?smid=A3TJPO0WY4WIAE&psc=1
I have other cases for other situations and needs, so this time all I want is the slimmest case available.
No, I am NOT looking for SKINS or "just go without a case" comments...so thank you.
I bought this one from Ali:
https://a.aliexpress.com/_vLZg9j
At 6.7g it is the lightest I found. Also it fits perfectly with no fingerprints and it is cheap.
I bought 3 other cases that stayed between 1h to 1 minute before I switched back to this light one. Between protection and lightweight I tend to always chose lightweight.
Caudabe has the sheath for the S21 Ultra.
I need to order one myself.
Lew Later cases are supposed to be extremely thin and light. They're expensive though, but available for S21 Ultra:
Galaxy S21 Ultra Case (Cyber Edition)
Every Latercase is made with Dupont™ Kevlar®. The aramid fibers are hand-laid by seasoned craftsmen, precision-formed to fit your S21 Ultra, then laser-cut to perfection. Latercase is simple to put on, simple to take off, and coated with a premium matte finish that's addictive to touch. Oh - and...
latercase.com
For those like me with the Ultra model who want a good case but not a piece of s%^~ kickstand or overpriced low quality keyboard case, I've asked Spigen about their Rugged Armor Pro like this:
Galaxy Tab S8 / S7 Case Rugged Armor Pro
Galaxy Tab S8 / S7 Case - Rugged Armor Pro is built to withstand the chaos of life without losing the convenience when it's time to chill.
www.spigen.com
They are planning to release their Tab S8 Ultra cases in May. So if like me you've been on the fence about settling for a garbage cover, hang on there a few more weeks.
No rugged one yet but they've got a thin one now. Pricey, but thinking about it. Nice: "*Compatible with Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra Book Cover Keyboard*". Also "*Attachable side protection only for tablet mode*".
I wish they would have a dummy plug built-in for the charging port. There is at least one case that does, but the whole thing wouldn't work with a Book Cover Keyboard.
And here is a review of the case for s8u -
Actually not so easy to use considering the "Attachable side protection..."
Not happy... after a complete lack of communication about the S8 Tab covers by mailing list, Twitter, Instagram etc, I asked again what is up and this time got:
"Currently, we do not have definite plans to release a Rugged Armor case compatible with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra at the moment
However, we will definitely consider your interest and pass it along to our developers! Thank you for the suggestion."
The ****ty case options are enough to regret buying this thing. Should have just stuck with the S7+

I've bought one and it also sits gathering dust for three reasons.
1. I want a physical cover that can also protect the paper feel / textured screen films that I use. Even if I was willing to compromise and put the film over the screen protector, the loss in pen sensitivity becomes significant.
2. I prefer the angle options the Spigen folding cover gives to the kick stand approach.
3. The pen holders are too tight to fit the Staedler Norris fat stylus securely. The Spigen cases are designed in a way which is much more accommodating of different stylus sizes.
I also bought a Fintie case which is more like "magic cover" style but it's flimsy crap with magnets so weak they don't even stay secure under the weight of the cover let alone with the tablet in it. The official Samsung kickstand case is what I'm using for now but yeah, I'm selling the tablet either way and going back to a Plus.
In many ways such a nice tablet, but I guess it's a niche market. A high end oversized relatively heavy tablet suited more to staying inside an office or maybe commute between home and work might be part of the reason for lack of good rugged case options, especially when it competes against the keyboard cover functionality.
Ergh. Was considering getting the Spigen for the Ultra - it's even much cheaper on Amazon right now, but there is only one user rating, and it's 1 out of 5:
I was really glad that I found this one that is similar to the Samsung genuine case and lighter weight but compatible with keyboard as well. However, after a day of use, I started to find critical down sides and there are 2.
1. There is magnet that doesn't compatible with Gal' Tab S8 Ultra and that interrupt S-pen recognition. This is really critical if you are trying to write at the spot where the magnet is...
2. This is much more critical... on the second day, the tablet was malfunctioning that the screen doesn't turn on properly. It turns on after several time of clicking the power button or double taping the screen. However, that only last for 1 sec. I can't do anything because it keeps turns off. First I thought something broken. However, as soon as I take off from the case, it works fine. So, I tried put my tablet on the back of the case. As soon as it contacted the case, the screen went out and doing the same thing. It is breaking my tablet.
I love Spigen. I used their brand ever since I had iPhone3GS... However.. this product is very disappointed.

Too bad. I did find some attachable USB-C dust plugs, though, I'm considering trying. A different one on Amazon had at least one negative comment about coming out by accident too easily, but this one looks like it might stay in better if I can judge just by looks.
