Hello everyone!
I can't seem to find an option for enabling vibrate on pick-up option. I looked everywhere but I guess it is disabled. I was using a Nokia 6.1 plus earlier which is an Android One phone which essentially means almost stock android. Both the phones use google phone app as the dialer, but it is one]ly visible on the Nokia not my Pixel. Any help regarding this?

Thought I'd share this with everyone. We all know the new moto x is coming in a few weeks and if your like me and can't wait I found a solution.
I found 2 of the main features.
I) active notifacations : in the play store but personaly i like my lock screen the way it is so I use knock2. This app will display your notifications when the phone is sleeping without waking it also halo works with it so no more needing to wake your phone to check or reply to notifications. Only problem is knock2 doesnt time out when it receives a notifications but thats ok for me since I don't always check messages right away also disply times out when in my pocket. but if thats a problem use active notifications
2) Open Mic for Google Now - its an advanced voice search for jelly bean it allow you open Google Now using an custom phrase. can be activated using hotward phrase or wave. The dev is working on adding addition voice commands that Google doesn't support.

Hello,
I have a oneplu3 that isn't rooted and with the latest version of the OS. Lately, when I try to clear background apps, I have seen in few instances of an app/phone keypad(if I may call) that looks as if there is an ongoing call running in the background (without any number). Why am I seeing this? what is it? I am not sure. But something that I know, is that there shouldn't be an ongoing call in my background when I am not on a call. I have tried to pay attention to see if there is a number that it is calling too but I do not see any number ( looks like ongoing, because I see a red phone below the phone keypad). I am not sure what app is causing this or if this is related to the actual OS, but I can't seem to replicate it to get a screen cap. Whats app, Reddit, clover, Google assistant are the only apps that I frequently use.
I know that this in't related to phone/call app as it would show my call log when I clear the tasks.
I have an ESET suite on my phone.
Am I being paranoid for no reason? is there something that I can do to figure out what is going on?
Thanks for your time.
So, I found the setting that reads to me who is calling.
So, for instance if Jesse Pinkman calls me, my phone will say "Jesse Pinkman" and then ring.
If it is not in my contact list, it will read the number.
But it only does it once.
I remember on some of my older phones, it would actually say who was calling, you would get the ring, say who was calling, get the ring, and repeat until VM picks up or I pick up.
I am looking for a way to do this again. If not available, is there an APP that will do this?
The reason I am doing this is because I have bluetooth on my helmet, and when I am riding I only want to pick up for certain callers.
On my phone, it is found under
Settings >> Accessibility>> Screen Reader>> Settings >>Read caller ID aloud
I simply did a search for "aloud" in Settings.
For anyone still looking for an answer: Samsung has made it difficult (on Oreo) to enable the function without the accessibility settings that call out every action you do. It has been integrated well in Pie under call settings. However, if you don't like Pie, like me, there's only one app that I found to actually do it very well. Its called Who's Calling. Get it from PlayStore. I have tested more than 20 apps and nothing does it better. I haven't even seen a single ad from it. Hope this saves someone time.
Cheers
Haven't had a samsung phone since the 6 edge... I don't see an option to have notifications wake screen? The edge lighting doesn't seem to work with any of the apps. I do not want to turn on "Always on Display". Did a quick Google search and looks like wake screen notifications are no longer a feature for Samsung phones? Any help would be appreciated, thank you!
I too have noticed this. Coming from a oneplus 7 pro, any time either google voice would receive a message or google messages would receive a notification or even gmail, my screen would briefly turn on notifying me. Now after having switched to the s20 fe, while I do get an audio notification, I do not get any visual notification on the phone itself. I DO get a visual notification for text messages IF I USE samsung messages. Google voice and other applications continue to be only audio.
While I'm sure there are other apps that can trigger a screen wake, I'd like to not have to use an app, to make an app work like it had on previous phones. If switching to say 'nova launcher' or another launcher may resolve this issue, thats one thing as I have done that in the past, but I'm in hopes to be able to not have to install any additional apps to make the s20 fe act like my previous phone. I'm thinking my daughter's s8 even has a screen turn on for notifications she receives (though I could be wrong)
Thanks,
E|
I will say, while I originally stated I did not want to use any additional apps. AODNOTIFY is a great app! As always we should thank any and all of our modders and devs.
Thanks,

yeah, I had similar experience. All of my searching only lead me to third party apps to solve. I'm not crazy about having to use another app just to wake up my screen when a notification comes in, but Glimpse Notifications is what I landed on and so far it's working well. It works as described, even with my s view cover case. I'm not sure yet if it has an effect on battery life so I'm keeping an eye on that over the next couple days, but at least it works as designed.
Bummer, was trying to avoid another app too. I tried Glimpse, but prefer AODNOTIFY. Thanks for the responses!
Hi!
After a brief detour on the Pixel 6 Pro from Google, and the resulting disappointment, I made the choice to return to Samsung on an S21 Ultra.
However, if there is one feature I will miss a lot, it's the possibility to filter calls by forcing the caller to indicate the reason of his call before picking up.
Do you know if it's possible to integrate this on other smartphones than those of Google? Or do you know a similar application?
Thank you!
Pixel exclusive feature
Thanks for the answer.
Too bad, I hope we'll find a way to make it works on other smartphones too, this was really an interesting and useful feature!
