I noticed that the 6.2 inch S21 has it's own dedicated forum with the typical group of threads that XDA always offers - Questions, News, Development/Roms, Accessories. However, I have not been able to find a dedicated forum for the S21 Ultra? There is only this thread - which only allows us to combine our comments/requests/news or whatever into a single thread - which obviously does not offer any kind of organization of similar threads like XDA usually does.
Am I missing something ? Is there a forum like the S21 Forum for the S21 Ultra? If so - Link please? If there isn't one, why not? Why would the basic S21 get it's own group of 4 threads while the S21 Ultra only gets one? in case I am not making myself clear, here is a link to the S21 Thread - S21 Dedicated Threads let me know if you know of something similar for the S21 Ultra.
I couldnt find one too
It is definately needed. This is very messy

Agreed.
Be careful what you wish for. When the S20 first came out, the S20U had its own dedicated forum with sub-groups for reviews, etc. Then they decided to merge EVERYTHING, and a lot of the S21U specific posts from the previous month or two were just wiped away. Personally, I would think there should be one S21 main forum, with sub-groups that are either distinct or separate, as appropriate (e.g. apps could be combined for all S21, but real life reviews should be separate for each). I don't know why they can't get this right.
I, too, would like this.

Greeting guys. While I know that the new forum layout isn't what we're all used to, this is XDA going forward since the migration to the new platform. This new "Prefix" based system should help with speed, indexing and searching once a few of the kinks are worked out. I know we are all creatures of habit, but as the saying goes, "The only constant in life is change."
I hope you will all be patient and understanding going forward, and will grow to like the new platform as time marches on, and we appreciate members such as yourselves being the backbone of what makes XDA a great place to learn, share, and do what we love doing to our devices. Even if that means creating a very expensive paperweight from time to time.
Best regards to all: Badger50

Thank you for your response.
It's good to see XDA progressing in that matter.
As a small feedback, please consider putting the filters as buttons on top of the list (of the threads), in order to select or de-select one or more categories. Should be much more user-friendly

Thanks for the follow up and detailed explanation. It all makes sense - and I hope XDA will remain open to listening to it's members for the occasional adjustment - if it is deemed appropriate.
One quick thought - assuming a group of phones like S21, S21 Plus and S21 Ultra, would we have a main thread that combines all the phones together - much like the S20 Note has done - then threads like this thread for the Ultra might be inside that "mother thread" ? Just a thought. In the meantime, I love XDA and will be around for a long time - "if the lord is wiling and the creek don't rise"..... Thanks again....

i like it this way, much easier to view new posts
instead of clicking multi sub group to find new posts.
Ive been trying to get used to the format but i dont like having all the topics in one thread.
I prefer to have the sub forums of old so i can read what i want to read in that specific forum and not have to sift through a bunch of stuff i dont care about .
Ive been spending much less time here because of this, its thats frustrating. Hopefully enough people will raise this same thing and things will change!
So many posts that are intermingled together that initially rely on the correct prefix to be relevant are causing me issues, I'll try to get used to it, but I don't see benefits .
I also thought that buying bitcoin at 3 dollars was stupid, just saying...
I mean how would prefix this, which I think is true BTW.?
Samsung money card won't run initial activation on Samsung pay unless you have chrome installed .
Samsung browser will not work, I've tried it and thought it was a bad firmware install but it isn't.
Does any body else have this issue?

I agree with that. And I want to add to it:
Once you filter a category (say with the proposed button which is a very good solution) and you want to MARK it READ, this action should solely mark read this category only, not the entire forum!
edit: I'll post it here too.

... and I must say I'm pretty impressed. Unlike what appears to be general consensus, I'm pretty much sold on Touchflo 3D, bĂșt I still have some problems and questions some might be able to answer. Some of the questions I know are still unanswerable, some have already been answered, but I'm just writing them down for completeness. The ones that have been answered have been edited in for future reference.
- Can Opera be removed or can the Browser globe on the Internet page of TF3D be linked to Internet Explorer?
According to KukurikU, the answer to this question remains no for now. Probably, a modified ROM can change this behaviour. NChief says that using Opera some more would be a better idea, as he feels its a more capable browser.
- Can the background of TF3D be changed on all pages, instead of only the Home screen?
Not yet. This might be in future updates.
- Can we add custom cities to the TF3D Weather application?
No, according to a thread about this question, for now it appears HTC is using a DNS referral to forward our weather inquiries to AccuWeather in a special layout. Using any city in this script that is not listed in the normal list yields no result as the whole thing just reverts.
- Can you set the SMS/E-mail pages in TF3D to only display unread SMS/E-mail?
Not yet. This might be an option when TouchFlo 3D is more heavily modded.
- Can I have the battery indicator show at the top of the screen while TF3D is running?
According to most people, it should already be there. Sadly, it is not for me. I'll investigate this some more to find out if there is a particular reason for this.
- Can anyone tell me whether the bottom USB connector on the Diamond is a modified 5-pin USB mini connector, and whether such a plug can be used to charge the phone (in case I lose my original powercable).
Again, according to KukurikU, the original cable is a modified 5 pins mini-USB adapter, I'm going to take the guess that the remaining pins are used for audio/feedback purposes.
- What are generally accepted must-have games, and generally accepted must-have applications for WM6 / Diamond?
Sadly, KukurikU felt he was not intelligent enough to answer this question. Until now, I've found that Advanced Configuration is one handy utility to have (especially in combination with the quite useful tweaks topic), and that alternate GPS software (ie besides Google Maps) is much lighter on the battery.
I also have some remarks and comments:
- Hard-SPL Dev + TLR's ROM are on my Diamond and they're great improvements. They stopped me from returning my Dutch, crippled ROM without handwriting support, slow, laggy stuff.
- Overall impressed. Good battery-life, fast, responsive, uncluttered, very broad range of possibilities, wow.
In case I asked any stupid questions: yes, I'm new. Sue me.
Why, I'm glad to see so many enthusiastic replies . Let me add another question then:
- Is it possible to minimize TT7 while still having it use the voices to indicate the route (ie. to listen music and TT7 at the same time), and if not, does another navigation program support this?
It appears this should be possible, and in some cases I find it does work, in some cases it doesn't. If I find out what way to get both running is best, I'll edit it in.
- Learn to use opera and you will notice that it's WAY better than IE
- The background can not be changed on all TF3D pages (yet?)
- You can not add custom cityes to the TF3D Weather application
- I have learnd that I can use any mini-USB cabel for chargeing(don't think its recomended tho)
That's the questions I can answer, hope I got them right.
btw, try searching the forum

I already stated in the first post that many of these have already been answered, but that I'm listing them for completeness. Please, if you want to point the finger at anyone not reading, please point it at yourself. Especially for you, I've been so free to bolden the text I'm referring to in my first post.
Besides that, I must say the search function on this forum is pretty useless - thanks to people posting those same questions over and over. For one of my questions, I ended up going back to page 13. I'm glad this forum is so inviting to people with questions, I mean, after all, a forum is not for asking things, is it now? Of course not, that would be absurd. Especially seeing that to find the answers to some of these questions, you have to spend almost an hour digging through multi-page threads in a 50-page topic list. It would be extremely hard to answer those questions for someone who knows the answer to these, I know, but honestly, I take it someone can put in the heroic and epic effort to at least try? Now, if there were a sticky with questions answered too often, that'd be a first step in the good direction. A bit like the, may I add, excellent list of tweaks. Do you hear anyone ask for tweaks besides in that topic? Of course not, there's a practical resource for going through that.
Nevertheless, I would like the answers on the questions not answered yet. There are at least three I know have not been answered yet, or of which I could not find the answer. At least, thanks for the ironic reply.

this is a good example of life-death question. here is an answer: you should have it all the time, it is already there! duh!? look again...
i think you didn't notice that the great majority of posters here are fighting with really technical issues or waiting for help in critical issues, not to mention the ones that are developing tools and applications to make our diamond more reliable and fast. the forum is full with "after 1 week", "i have it for 2 weeks" complains and reviews. don't want to be mean or sarcastic (and it is hard for me not to) but could wait a little more or search a little more here and in other places?
I agree with tha-rami, the search function doesn't always provide the results you want and this is a forum i.e. a medium for a free and open exchange of views. Yes, a search is most peoples' first option but I for one simply don't have the time to spend hours and hours trawling through each page and topic.
Have a little patience and don't assume that a poster hasn't searched - two days ago the search function didn't work at all for me. If you can't be constructive in a reply then you have to question why you're replying at all!

On my previous Touch and Touch Dual and also Ameo devices ive had Tom Tom Navigator 6 minimised with music playing and the Voice directions have still worked.
I have John Cleese as the Voice on my device and its great listening to him chatting all over some dance music! hehe!
Regarding the custom city in Weather, see this thread... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=397599
I agree with both sides of the argument.
It took me a few seconds to search for Custom City part of the Forum, but ive also had problems searching for items.
It would be nice if there was a thread started, that literally was edited and updated with all the common questions. (I suppose thats what the Wiki's for, but i never look at it as its never usually up to date) no other posts were added just 1 long 1st post that had a list of all the useful threads in it and what they were.
It can be hard trawling through many pages of threads trying to find what you want, but in my experience its worth it! Some of the replys to people asking questions can be a bit sarcastic tho...
eg
Search the Forum
Try Searching
or
Have you thought about Clicking on Search?
But i understand where these people are coming from, they have all searched through the forums and looked for what they want. Maybe it does take a little longer but im hoping that moderators will begin to tidy things up on here as there are alot of duplicate posts and information.
I think maybe the Forum should have a "Diamond Reviews" or "Reviews and Experiences" section added in. That way all the people that want to voice their opinions can do in their own part of the forum, plus this will free up some of the General Diamond discussions. Just an idea, please dont flame me for my opinion.
Anyway, I agree that XDA Developers is an excellent source of information for all things Diamond. All good! Glad its here and glad there are so many helpful people on here. Nice one!

The arrogance is outstanding! There are just three sub-forums here for the Diamond so if you super smart phone geeks want to have your own sub-forum I suggest you start one - 'uber geek' or similar. This is a forum as previously stated and some seem to spend a great deal of time putting an individual down rather than pointing them in the right direction. Don't mention the search facility, it's poor. This evening I searched for 'GPS latitude' (I wanted to see if I could get raw lat & long without installing TomTom, Co-pilot or something similar). The result of the search pointed me to a thread of multiple pages - I got to page 13 before I gave up without any mention of anything relevant.
I give up quite a bit of my time suporting people via the Microsoft newsgroups for Vista, Outlook and wireless networks in the full knowledge that most posters don't have the knowledge that I do in these areas but, not once have I arbitarily decided that I'm smarter than them. No doubt in some cases I will be and in some cases I won't. But for your information, if qualifications are any measure of 'smartness' (and they're not!), I have a Bachelors and two Masters degrees and the next time your aircraft takes off late flying you to wherever it might just be because I'm searching a forum for the umpteenth hour.
Relax and help others, you may find that others will help you one day!

Why, thank you. I'm not even going to reply further to Mr Ray, as I've had quite some fun reading his reply. He seems to indeed be quite literal, and he appears very good at ignoring the very cause of a forum and for indeed seems to love using that to put 40 minutes into trying to make fun out of someone (which ended up in a fail, although I did chuckle at the "Is it now?" thing, which was, admittedly, rather funny). Now, you, you are pretty horrible as well, but luckily, you posted some answers.
I'm glad to see people agree with me, and I know why. I know that they know that even Mr Ray and you both started one day by asking a question here. I know that most likely, you've been treated the exact same way, or that you were so lucky running into a normal person who has more to do than wasting 40 minutes putting someone down. Well, try someone else for that, I usually just skip those posts.
Oddly, I have a problem with one of the questions - and the problem is: there is no battery indicator, and if there were, why in gods or any deity's name would I ask for it? I'm using TLR's ROM 1 on a Dutch Diamond. I play to flash it to TLR's ROM 2 as soon as I get Outlook on this PC to at least not lose my contacts, and will report whether or not it shows up then.
Glad to know that the battery charger is indeed an USB 5-pin connector. Also glad to know that there are sane people around. I was thinking of spending some more time on these forums, and seeing that the most active posters around seem to be half-intelligent morons that spend days lurking for threads that contains anything they can flame (a common problem amongst the more 'elite' users of forums, of whom some feel they're too important to waste time reading topic-titles of subcritical questions, but feel new people should click through all 50 pages to find an answer tucked away on page 27 of the topic because the search engine in vBulletin forums sucks big time. I studied some internet- and social psychology, no master in that, though), I think I actually should may I find some spare time. There are probably lots of people around with subimportant questions and the best way to help them, is to help them.
Luckily, there are people like Skier641 around, people who maybe do not know the answer, but do voice their opinion against those of the 'elite' who feel they're exactly that, effectively rendering them useless to both community and forum. Luckily, my questions have been answered rather satisfactory. I'll edit the answers into my first post for further reference. Maybe, some day, the search engine will actually work and yield someone this thread, after which they can quickly and easily find the answers on page 1.
I'm spending too much time on this. For your information, this took 6 minutes to write. I hope that Mr Ray and whatever-his-name-was-again are having 20 minutes of great fun using their reverse psychology on this subject. It's amazing how most likely, they'll spend tens of minutes writing a witty reply to this one, instead of taking the five minutes it would've taken to answer my questions. Or maybe, after I posted that line, they'll act smart and reply in one line. Alternatively, after that line, they may not post at all.
That makes 7 minutes.
Before i start let me say i have spent many hours trying to figure this out!
Tried many method to many to write down! but no joy!
i bought a galaxy tab p1000 th other day! it was on 02 so i rooted it and unlocked it! there was no problem there!
but after i hard reset my tab the market reverted back to the old version 1.82
not only this but app i paid for in the past didnt show up on "my apps"
The apps on the market were very limited no "z4root, snesoid, DVR," Just apps that say things like "rc1". weird!!!
i update the apk myself to 2.3.7 (root explorer) which gave me the new looking market but nothing changed with "my apps" and still limited apps on market!
When i got it it was android market 2.xx and worked fine.
Tried
-settings-applications-uninstall updates (and all other caches and probably fixes i found on xda)
google framework, talk, market updater, so on!! trust me everything......
-many hard resets
-unrooting/rerooting
This has stock firmware no flashing as of yet!!
Please Can you help!
For someone who has spent many hours trying to figure this out, you could've also spent some time to figure out the correct section to post in
After you figure out where this post really belongs (or when the Mods move it) try searching by name in the Market for the apps you bought. They should appear in the result and it should say "Purchased" if your main Gmail account is the same one you used for the purchase. If you then click on "Purchased" you should be able to install them
Works for me if and when my paid apps don't automatically load.
For some reason I've only had this problem on my Galaxy Tab but never on my HTC Legend where the apps always load automatically.
Also keep in mind that not all apps can be used on multiple devices even if you've paid for them

It really baffles me why so many get to the stage of rooting/flashing their phone but don't have enough common sense to realise that they have no business posting topics such as this in here, especially when there is a dedicated Q&A section and this obviously a development forum.

install market enabler and after rooting your device(check bible thread) run it and choose any operator, or custom with enabler codes app. clear market cache before running enabler and hopefully all'll be fine.

Hey dude, you are so COOL because you can write in caps
You cant expect help if you post in wrong place, please use common sense, If you post in wrong place, obviously somebody is going to point it out to you. I'm happy to help anyone as long as they have the courtesy to read forum titles/use search.
In the right section I'm helpful. In the wrong section I'll help too, even when the help is a rebuke. The people who rebuffed you did help with your greatest need - to get you to post in the correct forum so your problem gets attention, not your manners.

Even in the real world we need to abide by the rule bro. The mods and devs here in xda are most helpful. We just need to know how and where to post. They may have overdone it in pointing out you posted in the wrong section, but admittingly it's really annoying if it takes you 5 minutes browsing through the pages because of too much unnecessary thread in the wrong forum. Its best if you just say "thank you for pointing it out".

Can all developers please share some information regarding job interviews?
I would like to know how to improve myself in a interview for development and how to improve my answers in order to make myself more appealing.
Here are some questions that i've been asked and would like to know how to improve the answers too:
1) When you need help with coding, what do you do? - what sites do you use? - How do you approach a solution?
2) When do you approach you senior developer?
3) How do you keep up to date ?
4) Give me an example of when you solved a difficult problem using PHP (or whataever language)
Basically many examples need to be given, not sure how to answer them.
There are other questions that I'll ask when they come to mind.
I need some input guys!! or at least guide me in the right direction please

If I do go for a site, I first use Google and anything relevant to what I'm already trying to do to solve the problem. If Google doesn't help, or the answers are too vague and I need something more specific then there's no better help out there than StackOverflow. If you don't know it, get to know it
Also, see the next question.

In the above scenario, after you've tried for yourself for a while at least. A senior dev will get narked if you keep hassling them without at least trying to help yourself!

Learn to prioritise. There's nothing really more to say about that as it's a personal experience thing. Make sure you keep notes of every task you need to do and mark it done when it's done, no matter how trivial it seems. You get better at it the more you do it.

This is obviously a very personal question that no-one can answer for you. I'm not gonna tell you about any projects I've worked on and had to deal with problems because there's no point. If you give it as an example they'll only ask you to expand on it and you won't be able to. Besides, it's all well and good trying to impress, but don't out-and-out lie at an interview. Basically, they just want to know that you *can* solve problems. Tell them something where you learnt something that you were able to use again - it shows a willingness to learn, the ability to understand there are things you need to learn, and that you can grow from such a situation.
Other than that, be confident and remember that they've got you in for an interview because they're already interested. Also, it's not a 1-way street. They might be arseholes that you'd never work for. The interview is as much for you as it is for them.
Not sure if any of that has been any help, but they're my honest answers anyway.
Good luck, and let us know how you get on

This was indeed my exact answer! For some reason that is seen as a 'junior' solution believe it or not! I'm so pissed cause that is what people do...even seniors.

The question was more regarding, how do you keep up to date with software/tech basically. For example Wordpress has been updated. How did you know about it etc.
There is a new CMS system, how do you find out about it? etc.

In that case, tech blogs with RSS feeds. I use iGoogle as my home page both at home and at work and it has different feeds on there for different bits of tech (web development, windows development, mobile development etc..)
Also, I think confidence is best when it's natural. If you've not got it yet then just keep getting better at what you're doing and you'll eventually get it. I've been doing it a long time now so only get a slight flutter of nerves at interviews. It's normally just a case of answering questions honestly and asking a couple of good ones back and I get the job. There's a lot of people out there doing development work, but not that many that have stuck it out and got actually good at it. Stick at it and you'll become a valuable commodity!

Thanks, what sort of feeds are you subscribed too?
I think I need to do something like this. Also, is it productive for developers to be on G+? Is there a benefit?
You know the answer to the question about solving a problem was to go to the original source, like wordpress has their own codex/reference site. Php has theirs, jQuery and all that. I use those site but didn't even consider stating it in the interview.

I plan to stick at it, since its putting food in my plate but I need to get better since like yesterday! Its been my life since January, really focusing on it but now trying to get a balance in my life back again.
Do you have any advice or pointers that you'd like to share from your experience please?
Thanks for your time Archer
Here's a list of the feeds I have on the "development" tab of my home page...
MSDN .Net Blog
Android Developers Blog
Visual C# News
Windows Phone Developers Blog
jQuery Blog
Just have a search for blogs that are relevant to your interests and most of them will either work as an RSS feed direct, or will have an RSS or Atom link, both of which are perfect for iGoogle (or other RSS readers).
I do use G+, but not in a professional capacity at all. To be honest though, I don't use any social networks for anything professional. I probably would if I had my own business and needed to market myself, but I don't so it's just not relevant.
As for pointers, the only thing I can really say is that when someone presents you with a challenge, look at it as an opportunity to enhance your knowledge and skill-set. I've seen many programmers respond with "Yeah, you can't do it like that. We'll do it like this instead." That's bull. There's virtually nothing you can't make your computer or website do, with just some imagination and perseverance. And it goes without saying, the more you enjoy it the better you're likely to be at it.
So what field are you going into? You said you've been doing it since January, but I expect you've been doing it a lot longer than that. Is this your first time developing as a career?

I know - I saw it this morning when I opened my browser and immediately thought about this thread lol.
I'm gutted as it's the perfect home page for my needs. All their advice about getting weather widgets and looking on the Play Store for replacements has got nothing to do with having an RSS reader home page.
Thanks for the extra links - I'll have a look through them.
EDITED per Admin's suggestions:
Hey xda,
I wanted to make a thread for people who are not as developer-savvy as others to share ideas and make requests for mods/roms/etc.
If a request or idea could generate enough feedback or support, developers would be more informed on what people would want or like to see.
Here are two things that I would personally like to see on my Nexus 4.
On your homescreen, when you press and hold the home button to go to Google Now, is it possible to add shortcuts and or folders to the extra space around the ring? This would allow the user to clean up some screen space by hiding frequent shortcuts.
Also, I would like to see app-specific security (pattern, pin, password) protection. This would allow a user to easily unlock their phone but still have the security they would want for their messaging, facebook, etc.
Thanks for reading.
I'll maintain this thread as best I can and put the best suggestions below.
Best Ideas as of January 02, 2013
Ideas will be added to this list as support is generated.
Ideas will be removed from this list as they are developed or "worked-around."
See the post number for more details.
App-specific security (pattern, pin, password) protection. OP, #1
Simultaneously video recording with both cameras. DonDizzurp, #21
Full calculator as a lock screen widget. AlwaysDroid, #23
5 PNGs as your WiFi/Signal bars. kcls, #32
Multiwindow support. DforDesign, #41
i can add the shrotcuts already in aokp. i think. gimme a sec and ill find out.

rom control should be built into most every rom. the features they stick in rom control are different though. i would imagine they all have the navbar deal. its best to flash a rom. find its features and then wipe and add a new rom. and keep going until you find the one you like best. after you find the right one... spend the hours it takes to set up your phone the way you want. for instance.. all of this talkin has caused me to want to throw cyanogen on here to see what those guys have been up to.

There's a big difference between posting direct requests in the development forums and posting a thread in the general forum for collecting ideas you think might be cool to have developed one day. There's nothing wrong with this thread and it's not bothering anybody. It's certainly more useful than the hundreds of threads that occur at every device launch complaining about one hardware defect or another. As an amateur developer I think threads like this are cool places to look for ideas that might be fun to tackle.

second
except for the am dev part. i dunno devving.
So i was browsing the thread and i came across this, and from the title alone i was ready to shut it down......
But i as i read in to it i had to change my mind. The OP is not blatantly making a request to any specific dev. They are simply stating things they would like to see. Now i know this isnt a place to make you phone look cool and i am obviously aware of the rules. But bedoig brings up a very valid point. Some of the amateur dev's might see this as an opportunity to dig in a little deeper. This is not in the development boards and no one is making a specific request from any of the dev's, so i see no reason to shut this down at this time.
However, since i do not normally moderate this board, then i welcome this boards mods _Arjen_, iridaki, eagleeyetom, YZ, TeeJay3800, Diamondback, AvRS, krook6023 to sidestep my decision if they feel the need to.
@oneonezerosix you may want to consider changing the title of your thread to something that sounds a little less demanding. The Dev's here might take it the wrong way (just a suggestion)

suggestions? sure, to an extent
XDA is here FOR the developers not for the average consumer to pressure devs.
as most xda OG's would say: if you want it done, do it yourself...
if you cant.. then try to learn and get the ball rolling and a dev will probably help you along the way.

After reading the post, I can understand your perspective. All that I ask is that you attempt to understand mine as well.
Zelendel stated that, "XDA is a place to come to learn and share your knowledge."
As an amateur developer, I do not know how to develop much of the things that I wish to be able to use. It was my sole intention to facilitate a discussion of new ideas for development from varying levels of skilled members. Even the best developers can dream of new mods/roms/kernels/etc that they may be unable to produce by their own means. Which is reason enough for one to want to request the assistance of others by posting in a thread like this.
If you do not see any value in this thread, then I apologize for wasting your time.
I am not a Dev and get offended for them when someone says "please add this".
But this is a recollection of ideas, honestly, what's wrong in that? Where would the devs be with no ideas?

I agree. This is an "ideas" thread, not targeted at a specific developer. A dev may take this on board and incorporate it, as they might think its a good idea

Hi guys, may i speak a little bit of my mind?
I've been on XDA for quite a moment now, forget about not contributing to any development please , and i do know one very simple ground rule: SEARCH!!!!!!
But from my time here i realise searching for something and getting the right answer here on XDA does requires getting the keywords right + if to minimise the scope, search in the right forum and thread. The experience is not something Google offers.
Thus alot of times this has happened to myself, especially newbies, forget or skips searching every single forums and threads, looking through a 40 page thread just for the 1 sentence answer. And the result, lots of angry 'old birds' and mods.
Thus can i suggest setting up some kind of Knowledge Base forum or thread? This KB will the centralise of all the essence of developments, bugs, fixes that exists in this forum modified by a Mod/Admin only. Something like a library.
Having a Knowledge Base will really be helpful to (budding) developers as well as technology leechers like me  It reduces effort wasted on searching high and low to the lesser extend, but really dealing REPEATIVELY to replying the same old questions with the same old answer. Just tell people to look at the knowledge base and that's it, no more reason and cause to post repeatative questions. It is different to the stickies existing now. Users still has to look page by page for their answer.
Ok I shall end my whine here now. Thanks for allowing me let off my mind.

Yes. but my point of having it managed and maintained solely by a mod/admin is for the knowledge base not to be 'polluted' by questions and answers. Kinda like a locked thread.

Understand. Perhaps this idea can be utilised at other places of XDA or the entire XDA which im sure with all materials centralised and summerised into a mega knowledge base will be very very awesome.
I think a FAQ can helpful and it will sure help new people.
Creating a KB can be a heavy time consuming job even though we don't many roms.
