Just got official update notification to EMUI 10.
A pleasant surprise. Phone was running perfect on Android 9 as well.
Went ahead and updated. Seems nice and stable. No bugs yet.
Any one else getting it now??
Received today a small update called system parameters update with no informations! The size of the update is about 9.13KB...
Mate 10 ALP-L29C636(10.0.0.181)..
Mine appeared last year but pressed later, and now still stuck on EMUI 9.1!
Tried HiSuite, HiCare... but no luck..

Hi,
I just switched from Apple to Android two days ago and don't know a whole lot about Android yet. I just got my brand new Huawei P20 Pro all set up yesterday and this morning when it went out of battery for the first time I naturally plugged it in to the charger. When I started it back up it went to the Huawei EMUI erecovery screen where it told me that something went wrong and I had a few options:
- Factory reset (recommended)
- Download new version and recovery
- Reboot
- Shutdown
I tried "Download new version and recovery" first and the package was successfully downloaded but when the phone had to restart it went back to the previously mentioned screen. I tried this a couple of times with the same result. After that I tried Reboot and Shutdown (trying to avoid having to factory reset) but it went back to the same screen again. Eventually I gave in and factory reset everything and it seems to have solved the issue but my phone still wants me to update EMUI and now I am afraid that it will do the exact same again. Does anyone in here know anything about this? Is it the new update or am I doing something wrong? How can I update without running into the same problem again?
My current EMUI version is 8.1.0
Thank you for your help.
8.1.0 is the latest emui, as far as I know. If it tries to update emui, you probably should do it because the Android 9 has already been released for P20 pro. If it's not Android and emui it is trying to update, probably it's a new build number. The latest is 156 c432 patch 03 with gpu turbo. Either way, you should update.

I tried to update it and it went through fine so it's all good now. I still don't know what happened the first time but I am hoping it won't happen again. Thank you for your reply.
Hi. A few minutes ago a pop-up appeared on my phone about updating to 9.1. The size around 450MB or some. After reboot, the updating screen didn't show, yet it took a while to boot up. I have entered the menu but I still have 9.0 even if in the changelog it wrote about EMUI 9.1 and stuff. I attached some screenshots. What should I do?

The changelog is misplaced and there is .281 update that have may security patches on L09.
The EMUI 9.1 is update is about 4.0 GBs.
May security update? Mine is still April. I am so sick of this company and their phones and policy
I bought a Note 9 N9600 / DS (I live in Brazil) and it is running Android 8.1 Oreo.
Do you recommend upgrading to Android 10 or better to put a cleaner rom than version 8.1?
Thank you
I have 0 complains with Android 10. Can safely say go ahead and update. I didn't even try 8.1 and 9 - the day I bought my Note9 2 months ago I did all updates for 2 hours non-stop
Some people have been lucky with Android 10 on the Note 9. But I have not been one of them. I have an issue with the Secure Folder on Android 10 with my N960N, is that I can't update Wechat via the Secure Folder. It would always stop midway then crash the secure folder and display a downloading addition file notification. I have reported the issue to Samsung I am not sure if this will be resolved with the next update.
But I have downgraded the OS on my Note 9 back to Android Pie. Which works like a treat!
hi,
Ive joined here just to give some advice after trying for hours searching for a solution
The huawei hisuite stopped rollback to emui 9 in in one step, but if you roll back twice from 10.1 to 10 and then to 9.1 it works.
Hisuite version 10.0.0.510_ove , rolling back my p30 pro to 9.1.0.260 , hopefully have access to the phone recorder in built app too.
Don't know how to add an image of it though sorry.
Hi all,
How are you?
I have spent soooo many hours trying to upgrade my new old stock Huawei P9 EVA-L09, its driving me absolutely crazy. When I bought it, like an idiot, I didn't check the Android Version, which I discovered was 6. So, I did oodles of research, gathered the right tools, downloaded the suggested updates and started.
I successfully upgraded to the latest android 6 (L09C432B210), but I tried many versions of Android 7, but to no avail. I eventually found a version of Android 7 called 'L09C432B322' that worked, but when I checked it says 'NRD90M test-keys', which is EMUI 5, Android 7; it is a fully functioning version of Android 7 but it is a pre-release version I believe, and neither the 'Files' option nor the 'Update' option are available on it, which is a pain. I have now tried a total of 23 different update versions, but no success, and with exactly the same issue with the update process, saying that it cannot update using that version (not precise wording!).
A couple of days ago I accidentally ended up on the phone update screen, the one with the big circle, while I was trying to get in to TWRP (fat fingers...). It sat there for an age doing absolutely nothing (aside from the circle spinning), not even failing, and I didnt even have an update file in 'dload' on my SD Card (not that I'm aware of), so I pressed the power button and shut it off. Now when I try to update, using either update.app via manual update or update.zip via HWOYA7, any update at all tbh, even old ones that I know failed but at least the update file was seen by the phone & process, it tells me the install failed and 'the update package does not exist'. I thought it may be a file extension association issue in Windows 10 (not sure how, just clutching at straws), so I reset the associations to Windows default, but that did not work. At around about the same time of the update issue starting, I couldn't say for sure when as I wasn't paying enough attention, I started using the HWOTA7 tool, which too gave the same result of 'the update package does not exist'.
Did HWOTA7 cause this? Did I cause this inadvertantly? Has a broken update.app caused this? I simply do not know and am hoping one of you fine people may be able to help me. Is the process looking in a different place to where either HWOTA7 puts the file (not changed from default) or where I put the file (SD Card 'dload')?
The reason I'm trying to update is because Android 7 is no longer supported by Google and one by one apps are disappearing from Google Play, so I'd like to update to Android 8 (Oreo). There lays another fine issue as I cannot find a version of it anywhere, not since Huawei removed the updates from its site a couple of years back. Not that any update will work of course...
I've never known a phone to be so difficult to get the correct software for and to ultimately upgrade. I even managed to update an LG G5 around 2 years ago when there were no official updates, but this Huawei P9 is just silly...
I think the update process should be this, update to the latest possible Android 6 then 7 for the P9, rebrand to the AL10 and, update to the chinese Oreo and then overlay the Kirin fix (I think); is that correct?
Thanks folks.
Paul.
Hey @vorlockfoss can you send me the B322 that you have found in order to update from B210 Marshmallow to Nougat?
Huawei's firmware servers were taken down only last quarter of 2020 so october/november/december 2020 around those months.
Hi W00fer,
How are you?
B322 is the version I downgraded from, back to C900B300. If you have B210 then you'll need B386;
HWOTA.zip | by Tecalote for P9
there are instructions in the folder. It includes the full firmware for EVA-L09 C432 B386 - for update from Android 6 to Android 7. For example from b182 or b210 to b386.
androidfilehost.com
I've responded more completely to your other message, so if you need further advice it may be better to reply there and I'll do what I can to help. I will update this thread after we've finished, just to keep it tidy.
Thanks,
Paul.
