Hello all,
I've been trying to get my head around the quick actions that you get when you long-press an app. Apparently, this is available in only certain apps and not in some system-wide apps. For e.g., when I long press the settings app, nothing appears other than the option to move it to the home screen. Is there some settings that I'm missing here?
anyone?
No, it is just not available for all apps

We don't have a search key programmed on our devices, do we? It says it's programmed to a longpress of the search button.
1. As mentioned above, it uses a long press of the search key. We don't have a search key, and we don't have any more buttons to map to a search key (which is probably the most useless of all keys).
2. I already added support for the "Recent Applications", which supports 6 apps. The Vogues only have 128Mb RAM, and the recent apps are shown in order of last used.....
Suffice to say, by the time I've used 6 apps, I find the Android garbage collector has shut down the oldest one. 15 recent apps would only serve as a fancy shortcut menu.

Eh, I missed the search key thing. And yes, it did just look like a fancy shortcut menu. Just thought people might be interested.
And is there any way possible this could be programmed to a longpress of our camera buttons? I'm guessing not...hoping yes.

There are already 3 functions programmed on that button, so I doubt it.

I meant instead of the task switcher because this is just an enhanced version.
Does anyone know how to launch the Home Long Press via a shortcut?
Such as the direct "Activity" or "Intent"?
Or even a "Launcher Pro Shortcut"?
I belive the home long press is inaccesible to regular apps.
It's a system function.

Hmm, it's a start
The latest ADW launcher lets you crate a 'custom shortcut'. Not only to customize the icon, but it lets you pick from all callable activities it sees. Even specific activities inside an apk. Try looking through those to see if the recent activities activity is there.

What about for LauncherPro?
You can try Visual Task Switcher from the market. There is a free ad supported and paid ad-free version. You can set that app on your homescreen and when you click it it comes up on your screen with your opened apps... and if you have more than 9 opened you can scroll to the side to see more. It's not perfect, but I think if the dev keeps working on it, it's a great option.

Hi - I might be being completely daft here...I got an HTC One today.
I can't seem to access the Facebook app settings to turn off notifications of new posts. I would expect to see the three little dots somewhere for the app settings, but all I have are actual Facebook settings. Nothing for the phone itself...am I missing something obvious?

Doing that just opens Google search?
EDIT : Got it. Changed the setting for the home button to be menu, not Google now. Thanks
OR, swipe right from the left edge to get the menu and then go down to the bottom - they're under 'App Settings'
without having to press the physical home button? I know I've seen the thread somewhere but cant find it. Just wanted input and recommendations for one of the better toolbar apps.

Not the most attractive square lol, but thanks. Are there 3rd party apps as well?
Not sure, I'm sure there might be a few. But I haven't used any
Side key panel. You can activate it in the quick settings
Hi,
Quick question since moving from the N3 to N4 it was pretty smooth transition. Except for the some irksome things like changing compactive menu button to recent apps. Is their an app that i can use to change it back to menu instead of recent apps?

long press the recent apps button and it acts like a menu button
other then that i am not sure, though it should be a feature you can change eventually and i believe the word you are looking for is capacitive buttons.
