I believe he meant the "WiFi Hotspot" feature but still good to know that mobile data is working !

Is this rom ready for daily usage ? Nothing much..making calls,taking pictures,using data and wifi !

I don't think so. Since its in work, expect things to break. Flash if u want to get the taste but wont suggest you to consider for daily use.

What's AOSP?
AOSP is Android as Google publish without other modifications. More or less AOSP is the Nexus devices stock rom without gapps.
We added few non-AOSP features for a better user experience and we are NOT going to add any other features.
What's CodeAurora Forums?
Code Aurora Forum (CAF) is a consortium of companies with projects serving the mobile wireless industry. Software projects it concerns itself with are e.g. Android for MSM, Femto Linux Project, LLVM, MSM WLAN and Linux-MSM. Q : Why android version 7.1.1 ?
A : Because the sources I'm using still have 7.1.1 manifest.
Q : So can you manually update them ?
A : I have tried my best but updating the sources breaks the build. So it's better that we wait for the manifest to be updated to 7.1.2

A : I'm still working on them and haven't found solution to it. If you know the solution, please let me know
Q : Can I flash custom kernels on this ROM ??
A : Most probably yes, because I haven't changed the kernel source
Q : Is this ROM stable for daily use ??
A : I have clearly written WIP in the title and mentioned known issues in the above post. It's your decision whether to use it or not.

A : I have tried to cherry-pick "double tap to sleep on statusbar" from other roms for this issue. You can use it with volume wake option too(There's an free app for this on the playstore)

Just wanted to mention that auto rotate is working for smallest width of 442 and above :good:

I hate autorotate.

I've reset and verified my APN settings, and I am unable to get an H+ connection. Either that or the wrong icon is displaying? (H)

When I lastly tested the ROM , I was able to get H+ connection .
But .. I'll retest and let you know :good:

Thanks. Everything else is working great. This ROM is a fantastic balance for the phones space limitations, it's been a huge relief. I've had an extremely smooth experience.

I expect this ROM to be updated.

I actually want to update all ROMs I've compiled yet
But I don't get free time regularly.
I've compiled an update today .. let's see if it solves some issues
EDIT: Still have those issues mentioned in the OP ... Will try again

I drive for work, also use Uber to get around. I got stranded last night, I've got to move on. Good work so far though, I may revisit later.

REMINDER
If you're having issues and want to submit a report (Logcat) please make sure you are reporting from the stock kernel, not a modified kernel. Modified kernels can break or fix, even improve things. It depends. I can't get a full clue of the issue when you're not running the original kernel.

Even though I installed gapps, pixel setup and launcher keep crashing, if it's working to you please link your gapps (I installed some old pico test 9.0 gapps)

I can't tell you

Alarm and SMS notification is ded, but works when using third party apps.

One things doesn't work on my MI9: AOSP-keyboard. Do you add this in further updates?

hotspot wont start... any sugestion to fix it?

Hotspot works on my phone.
Swype doesn't work on AOSP-keyboard.
First emergency-notifications crashed several times. After restart I could edit them.

Yes, but if you face issues, I'd clean flash.

OSS or MIUI vendor? People on RN 10 pro using different vendor so it would be helpfull if vendor mention.

Superb work, banking apps and google pay works, work profile is working too. Only bug i found is Android Auto dont work

Great work @daniml3! But the apps opening animation is very laggy and just some ui lags otherwise its nice.

I also face issue with laggy animations. There is also no option to enable AOD.

i also feel the lag in animation thought it was 60hz but its on 120hz

Im experiencing the same thing too..

New build available with the following changelog:
• Added interaction boosts
• Improved overall performance
• Added one handed mode
Animations should be fine now (at least its what I saw here), I'd like feedback about it !

Of course, Android S was barely released a week ago, we're focusing first on stability, then we'll add features. About UI lag, you should try latest (today's) build.
