Lineage OS? - Redmi 9 / Poco M2 Questions & Answers

Hello! I would greatly appreciate it if somone could port lineage OS to this device
The only unofficial port I have found is very bad, with all of the bugs present in a GSI build, and with SElinux disabled...
Please I would very much appreciate it if someone could port this from this device
I would build it on my own, however, I don't have the hardware requirements, knowledge, and experience

I'm currently on the RROS GSI ROM and it's working so so much better than MIUI, although I am planning to move to the PixelExperience ROM, because of the drivers. (I can recommend PE over Lineage OS since it's pretty much just stock Android)

I recommend to use NITROGEN OS 8.1.0 cause it´s very stable.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-redmi-4x/development/rom-nitrogen-os-redmi-4xsantoni-t3738083
Ive used almost every oreo rom I dont find many difference, every rom has own features but its quite similar its my personal opinion I find all of them almost same in performance and battery backup

Sorry I can´t say. In my device before santoni I was on Resurrection Remix 5.8.5, but with santoni I wasn´t satisfied with it. So I stayed at first on Miui Xiaomi.eu 9 but not really satisfied too. With new oreo roms I changed to NITROGEN OS 8.1.0. That´s my way on santoni device...
For Oreo: Its NOS
For Nougat: It's Dot.OS
You must try Invicta OS rom, it's very smooth and stable.
Before this I tried Nitrogen OS (stable) but after reboot finger print didn't work, rest were fine.
Go ahead and try Invicta OS.
Use cardinal aosp rom. Best performance, better battery backup in comparrision of other Oreo roms.
Cardinal aosp is the best Oreo ROM for redmi 4 santoni. Everything is good in this rom. It also supports OTA updates and thanks for the developer for making an awesome rom.

Well I am using Aosp extended Oreo. Although I am facing problems with root. But the smoothness and stability is good. You won't get the same battery life as you get on miui but it's actually not bad.
You can try it out. I am quite satisfied with it but it might affect you if you need root access.
for me pixel experience.

please suggest best Oreo ROM santonin 2019? As daily driver.. really stable as miui

I don't know about what version of RR you talking man?
I tried the last 4 versions (no custom kernel) and more than a day, I could not use the ROM.
Because they had problems !
Or it did not have the hardware key configuration!
Or, apk was broken.
Or even lock the phone!
No construction left by 8224Freak , is not good, now !
Last year, in December was a good one, but it was retired !
Yea RR was really great one year ago until it stopped been supported. I turned to Lineage 15.01 after it got oficial.
I really like that santoni is one of the most developed androids because it is a really great device if used with good and stable custom roms.
I havent used miui after buying this phone like one year now and it feels good not mess with all this bloatware
Similar to MIUI, might be little short..
DotOS
Try for miui pro. Nougat bro it's more stable

Best ROM for pure android (one plus/pixel) experience

Hi everyone,
I have had a Google Nexus 5 and a one plus 3, so the experience with MIUI feels strange.
I have tried with china, global and Xiaomi EU ROMs.
I have seen here in xda a ROM call pixel experience
I wanted to know your opinion about the best option.
And this pixel experience ROM does anyone know how much time takes the updates from China ROM to be in this one? Will it work on android Q beta?
Thanks!!

MIUI is very divisive, I'm on the hate it side.
Pixel experience, as the name suggests, is a modified version of the Pixel phones ROM. So it will be more to what your used to. Personally I've never tried it, as it has too many Google apps baked in for my liking.
There's the Lineage ROM, which is also very close to a stock Android feel.
Finally, there's the Resurrection Remix ROM, which is based on Lineage but cherry picks from a variety of other ROMs to give much more customisation and features.
In time there will be a more ROMs arriving, quite possibly an Oxygen OS ROM.
All of these are based on AOSP, so have no reliance on the stock MIUI, other than for the vendor images. At the moment the dedicated ROMs are still in early development and have a few issues to iron out, mainly flaky FP sensor performance, but are stable enough for daily use.
There's also GSI ROMs too. Though these have a few extra issues over the dedicated ROMs. I'm using the Havoc GSI and the small number of issues with it don't really affect me (except the flaky FP sensor, which isn't too bad to live with)
All of these ROMs will want an official ROM installed first, before flashing, to ensure the correct vendor image is installed. I wouldn't recommend installing over the Q beta ROM directly.
Thank you very much!!! Your explanation is really helpful??

This guy @Robbo.5000 knows what he's talking about! Listen to him! Personally, I'm waiting for the OxygenOS rom considering that I've previously had a Oneplus. MIUI, is a hit or miss, in my opinion. That being said, I can live with it till the time a stable OxygenOS arrives. Best of luck!

Thank you very much for responding.
For me it is havoc os as i prefer more out of customization.
I don't need a lot of customization, I like a rom as stable as possible, someone said to me official Lineage 16 has little issues and other roms are better, what do you think about it?

Need suggestions for a stable and fast custom rom

Hi.
I am using the stock MIUI Global 11.0.2 Rom.
It's based on Android 7.
The phone lags a little and performance is a bit slow. I want to flash a custom rom that gives it a boost makes it stable and removes lag.
Please suggest any best ROMs for it.
Go with latest build of Havoc OS as i am writing this comment latest build is Havoc OS 3.7 with latest security patch of july 2020. it is way far better than MIUI for Redmi 4X.
For the lag there is not much can be done. you will still find some lag on all ROMs here and there since it has Snapdragon 435 with 2/3/4 GB of RAM, but i can assure you havoc os will make device like new.
