I have performed successful ADB debloating, but was unsure of deleting the Knox applications (not sure what to take out) and I have a question about a Samsung specific app..
I hate the Samsung Gallery app and I am using Google Photos, but the stock gallery app is redundant and often in the way. What would happen if I delete this? Will the phone default to Google Photos without much hiccup, or will there be issues beyond integration with the camera, etc?
Thanks.

If you debloat the stock gallery app when you're in the stock camera app and you tap on a photo to view it it will tell you there is no default app to perform this action. Other than that I didn't see any issues.

Thanks, that is what I figured. I really hate having the two apps fighting against each other.

Yeah it's slightly annoying but it could be worse. I use App Freezer instead of debloating through ADB as it's much easier to disable whatever you want without root then if something doesn't work afterwards you can just enable it again quickly. I've done a lot of testing and pretty much have it down to a science of what apps you can and can't disable. I have frozen probably around 80-90 apps and everything still works except for those things I removed on purpose. You can even save a frozen packages list to an xml and share it and import it which I like.

Would you mind sharing all the packages and apps you "froze" in some sort of a list? I´m looking for some list to use with the adb disabler. Can´t find any basic list that has some effect.
Thanks in advance

I did not freeze anything, nor did I use a package disabler. I used ADB and command line using the commands I listed above for those apps I did not want as well as keeping the display at "high" as much as possible (120hz).

Here is my Frozen Packages XML file that you can open up in any text editor and view or load in the App Freezer app. Obviously don't disable something if you know what it is and you use it.

UPDATE
Just tried to debloat using TomatoT Debloater "Invisible" script and it seems to work on my phone.
Note - TomatoT Debloater requires root as the developer removes the folder itself. Whereas i try to uninstall apps. I had to alter the script with app names. But there are few apps that i cant access as of now.

Using ADB does not actually uninstalls but deactivates the app for a particular user. Updating the rom with OTA or a dirty flash should not activate those apps unless you manually do so or do a factory reset from recovery.

Thanks for your input. I removed that line.
I prefer uninstalling as you can always install apps back from playstore or reset will do the trick.

I am on ob7, all stock.

Thank you. Google duo & drive are gone.:good:
Game space still there.:crying:
I would like to get rid of Android auto too, if you can help.
As per title guys, is it possible? I'm ABSOLUTELY unable and I'm bit afraid honestly, to play with root, flash and so on.
I confess that before to write this tread I've googled around and I found out a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HIMPaKFfadI
The indian guy says to install a program which remove this Mi bloatwares in my Mi9T Pro.
But the link in his video description is without .jar nor .exe file, therefore absolutely useless.
I don't know, maybe I should bite the bullet and go on with the rooting. :silly:
But I have few questions:
1) Does the rooting will void the warranty? How are the policies at Mi Corporation?
2) Does the wiping of the Mi Apps help the phone performances? I can't complain honestly but, I don't know, is normal seeing an important RAM usage (only 35-40% is free). I have installed only 15 apps that I really need. Is that normal?
3) With the imminent Android 10 and new version of Miui, the uninstalled Mi apps will be reinstalled automatically or, worst case scenario, since they have been removed it will affect any system update?
I think this is all. Please forgive me if I have just opened a double tread (I couldn't find another similar one).
Thanks a lot guys!
First of all, RAM is there to be used, not to be empty. So a fairly high RAM usage is completely normal under Android.
If you install an upgrade, some apps might come back, but it can also cause issues when upgrading.
Here a manual for the Mi 9, I think it's very similar with the 9T, but I never tested it.

Step to debloat K20 pro
Uninstall any apps you can from the phone like Facebook, Paytm, etc.. Now install a custom launcher and sms app of you choice (i prefer nova launcher prime and sms organizer). This step is important.
Now enable developer options and turn on usb debugging. Connect the phone to the PC and open cmd in platform-tools folder.
Now type adb devices and make sure the devices is connected correctly.
Now type
Code:
adb shell
this will open up the adb shell. Now copy and paste the below commands and press enter.
Code:
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.xiaomi.micloud.sdk
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.miui.gallery
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.miui.videoplayer
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.xiaomi.payment
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.miui.videoplayer
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.miui.micloudsync
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.xiaomi.mipicks
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.xiaomi.midrop
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.miui.cleanmaster
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.miui.notes
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.android.browser

pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.miui.player
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.xiaomi.mipicks
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.mi.android.globalFileexplorer
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.miui.notes

pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.miui.analytics
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.google.android.music

pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.mipay.wallet.in
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.miui.bugreport

pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.android.mms
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.miui.weather2
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.mi.android.globallauncher
Now you are bloat free. You can install any filemanager and image viewer of your choice.

Have you done Something else ? Because all apps listed in Xiaomi ADB/Fastboot Tools are supposed to be completly harmless to remove.
Also even though I haven't tried it yet, there is a "Reinstaller" tab in Xiaomi ADB/Fastboot Tools, I guess it does what you ask for (can't check right now, I'm at work).
Actually I think you can simply replace the word uninstall with install in the guide and they should be installed again.

You double-click on XiaomiADBFastbootTools.jar but you need Java installed on your computer to be able to launch it.

Hi,
thanks for this post but I see there are some redundant lines (com.miui.videoplayer is doubled) and some other which seems be not related to Xiaomi (i.e. com.google.android.videos; com.mi.android.globalFileexplorer; com.mi.android.globallauncher). I'm wondering if I can choose what I want to delete. In fact I don't think I will even touch those "android" lines.
Anyway I have 5 main questions:
1) As I said may I customize what I want to rid off? Because actually I want just remove the browser, notes, mi video, calendar, music, gallery.
2) Regarding the calendar, I notice that there is no way to set the google calendar as default. When I click on the date the Mi calendar comes up. If I unisitall the Xiaomi Calendar will be the Google one default automatically?
3) In the next update (Android 10 or Miui 11) I will find again the bloatware that I've uninstalled?
4) Will the warranty be void?
5) If I will make a disaster a factory reset will save my ass?
Bonus question: do the removing of all or some these bloatwares help the phone to be more performant, quick, in other words better? I should expect less usage of ram and more free space?

No.
You were supposed to :
1) download the zip file "XiaomiADBFastbootTools-6.6.2-Win.zip" you can find here (assuming you are a Windows user) : https://github.com/Saki-EU/XiaomiADBFastbootTools/releases/tag/6.6.2
2) Extract the zip file wherever you want.
3) Install Java : https://java.com/en/download/
4) Double-click on "XiaomiADBFastbootTools.jar" like you would for an exe file.
That's it.

I would like to get removed only the browser, the note, mi video, gallery, cleaner.
but I'm worrying that since these are embedded in the phone we could even remove but soon or later they will return with a system update.
and, but this is my opinion, it's not worth remove in the way that you can't wipe out completely...they will stand as broken bridge somewhere in the phone (swipe up and chech the app opened, above there is "manage app" icon and "cleaner" app too, this app is in the launcher. Even if we click on it and won't happen anything it will be still there).
Understand what I mean guys?
Hi Comrades,
I wanted to check with the experts here if I could selectively disable bixby garbage via adb without affecting some bixby stuff that I use. For e.g., I really like the bixby routines and would like to keep it whilst disabling the rest as below via adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 :
com.samsung.android.visionintelligence
com.samsung.android.bixbyvision.framework
com.samsung.android.bixby.service
com.samsung.android.bixby.agent
com.smasung.android.bixby.agent.dummy
Would uninstalling these screw up routines?
I actually did this today, routines appear fine as long as you don't remove the specific item
So, have you actually disabled all the above listed services and Bixby is still working?
I would like to do that too if that's the case.
Ran all of the below - so far routines are all fine, but haven't extensively tested
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.samsung.android.bixby.wakeup
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.samsung.android.app.spage
pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.samsung.android.bixby.service

Thanks a lot , will give it a try and hopefully the basic functionality of Bixby will still be usable.
Also, the bloatware list is yet to be tried.

Now this is just my personal preference and you don't need to follow all steps and you should choose what suits your needs. But I get amazing battery life with this settings without sacrificing 120Hz and WQHD+.
I am on EU ROM 12.6 21.3.31 Beta Latest Update
With 120Hz and WQHD+ Turned ON.
If you use WQHD+ Uncheck save battery with WQHD+ (if enabled this will make screen glitch while switching across apps)
I uninstalled a lot of apps but the most important that drain battery are Facebook and Chrome.

Are you trying to make your phone useless? Those look like core components to me. Especially NFC and the cell broadcast receiver - those look like system components you shouldn't touch. You realize you can just turn off NFC via a QuickTile or in the settings, right?

While it may be fast, it is far from the best option. To my knowledge, the Mi 11 does not use an IR camera for face unlock, instead only "looking" at the image. This means it should be fairly trivial to trick face unlock with a photo.
There's even a warning message when you try to enable it:

You should not use Face Unlock if you value security at all. Someone could simply take a photo/short video of you, steal your phone, and unlock/use it. Face unlock is not the best option, considering its huge security implications.

You are free to chose what you want to do with your device. Meaning you don't need to follow any of this. For me all of this works flawlessly. I don't use NFC and I don't need it in my device. I use face unlock and a pin. And don't care about security. Got nothing to hide. Its just to prevent accidental unlock.
Thx for your settings Asnamus.

Ghehehhe you are the perfect example why people (like me) make remarks..... You accidentally removed something which you actually need.
There are things in there which better is not to remove...
You know what saves battery?? The on/off button.
we learn from our mistakes. Doing nothing is always easier.
I just forget to delete this line. My bad.
Save battery by turning on/off... The easy way. Not my philosophy !
I like to tweak and not do it in simplicity. At worst, I reinstall my phone and start again what I have already tweaked with more attention

Seriously.... the best way to save battery is to lower your screen brightness.
Off course it's always good to try tips and tricks but when removing all those items in OP better buy Nokia 3310. Great battery life and dumb phone.
I don't mind the battery usage it charges at lightning fast.
I have also had some great results on my other phones with Naptime app.

I have uninstalled many system apps when I started messing around with this things 3 years ago. So in first 2 months I was reinstalling rom almost every day. But yes that's how you learn and advance yourself. I love to tweak and set up device for my personal preference. I like to be super responsive and fast and have a good battery life. It's your point of view that I respect.
For me, it's fun to tweak.
My objective is to remove useless gadgets, which consume battery.
It's a smoother and better optimized device.
It's having a smartphone that looks like me and not having a smartphone like everyone.
As long as I can do the same as a bloatware-filled device, I'm fine.
For the moment, no problem with everything I have removed.

Nice work ! Thank You !
But you only uninstall apps.. if the system is programmed to search for certain apps, it will consume to search a missing apk..
You really miss the basic android 9 bugs to solve the battery problem. These points you mention are just minor things. The battery consuming part is introduced since android 9, and never been resolved, for every android phone. All the people complaining about battery life, are just not into researching. Neither are you, because you just copied a list from internet and made your phone a brick, which is totally unnessacarily.
Sorry for bad bad english. Atm im busy flashing my phone, sow i dont want to waste time typing, but i can help you if you like when i got some time.

Maybe he didn't want to bother to write all the things he changed and done.
Can you please help him and me and us and write and share your experience and knowledge about battery and tweaks? Thank You

Thx for your settings Asnamus.
I don't understand why some people make unnecessary remarks. We don't force them to do what is proposed...
I make a mistake by removing the nfc. is it possible to reactivate / reinstall it despite having deleted it by mistake ?
and just a question, what is this :
pm disable-user com.android.traceur
adb shell cmd package bg-dexopt-job
Thx

adb shell pm disable-user com.android.traceur (Disable logcat if you don't need logs)
adb shell cmd package bg-dexopt-job (Forcing ANdroid app optimization after every update (must be redone after every OTA) but also automatically runs every X days when the cell phone is charged overnight)

This is just a list of bloatware i remove from the phone. You are right, this is only uninstall apps. Maybe system is serching for missing app. But i don't think so. Battery is better than first time i used this phone with global rom without tweak and all those F...ing ads ! (xiaomi is champion with this !)
But actually, i can use my phone like i want. Dunno why you think it's a brick. I think i can do all the thing you can do too.
As Asnamus said, i didn't write all thing i swhitch off / on because list is too long.
This is the first time i used a xiaomi phone so i'm beginner with.
But i make exactly same thing with other phone.
For example, my last OP8 pro reached 9h-10h SOT and 2-3 days of use.
Ok, i don't play game and i don't look video on social networks.
It's just for fun.
And this post is just for people who want to try something different.
Why complain ? Why criticize ? (we are human... ok thats why xD)
Hm do you realize that removing the calculator app won't help you save battery ?
I mean ok, it's a default app, you can download any other to replace it. But it makes the phone empty for nothing and the smartphone loses its main purpose : to be a swiss knife, doesn't it ?
Anyway, from my POV I will uninstall apps that aren't necessary but that keep running on the phone (like Health app or some of the battery consumption "other" list that I don't use)
You should not uninstall `com.android.cellbroadcastreceiver`, it's a national security feature, and if you don't want to use it, there are settings for messages you would like or wouldn't like to receive.
And by the way, I think that is the service that allows you to make emergency calls even if you have no SIM (not sure about that)
For information, I upgraded from 12.0.2.0 to 12.5.1.0 (RKBCNXM). The phone was already debloated - there was no facebook app or netflix or whatever random app I don't use. The AOD app is not displayed anymore in the battery consumption list, and now I lose 4-7% over the night instead of 10-15% when I was under 12.0.2.0.
I rooted it and installed AdAway / VancedManager, that's the only thing I did with root for now, and as far as I can tell, I can't complain about battery now.

What is this app ?
It has already been proven a million times: Bloatwares that you never use will never consume battery. This isn't year 2014 anymore. Things have changes a lot and software has been better.
New owner to a X60 Pro+, did a massive debloat/uninstall/cleanup to get this phone just how I wanted it, and almost went insane during the process. Long time android user, and tweaker, so this process should have been simple, but I never get that lucky.
Long story short, if I disable Power guardian (com.vivo.pem) via ADB, upon a reboot, I can't connect to anything Google related. Play store shows the can't connect satellite screen, any settings in most google apps say can't connect right now (Home / Search / Assistant / ETC. I couldn't quite find a De-Bloat guide anywhere, just a few suggestions posted here, in conjunction with apk export to see the names that lined up with the questionable apps.
Google play store, services, and related apks are all on the newest via apk mirror. This is 100% re-creatable. And after using the phone for a day, and not getting a considerable number of notifications, despite changing the background power settings and notification settings, I would like to disable this app. Phone is on the most recent updates, made a vivo account as well to keep gesture navigation with nova launcher. Logging out doesn't change behavior either.
Any thoughts or suggestions welcomed, can provide a list of disabled apps if anyone wants further specifics.

I have not received a notification
i deleted com.vivo.pem, everything became normal
but after some update, notifications stopped coming again, applications fall asleep after a while
please advise me how to fix it
Sorry, I would like to, but with my device everything works fine ...
Maybe vivo.pem has been reinstalled by update?
I can recommend "apk export" app which can be used to show hidden and system apps, export/save them as apk in a folder and also call the "application details" screen even if the app is not shown in app list under settings.
vivo.pem is missing from the list of running processes in apk export. Thanks for your help ))
Any solution to this even after disabling vivo.pem?
