USB accessory problems e.g. not remembered - Android Auto General

I have a eunavi PX5 Android 8. Originally came with LM 2.88 but I changed both the MCU and Android to the HA versions.
I have the following accessories;
- DAB+ usb device
- ADAS XCDVR2 usb device dash cam - usb device
- TPMS usb device
- ODBII bluetooth
Everytime i start the unit;
- i get the tick box to allow the usb device to connect for the DAB+. (even though i say remember, it does not)
- i have to unplug/replug the adas dashcam before the recording will start
- i have to tick the box to all the usb device for the TPMS
- i have to unplug/replug the ODBII to get the device to load.
The system seems to ignore the settings to remember the state.
Any ideas how to fix pls

[Q] USB Host Mode - Stock c6602

Sony advertises the c6602 as being able to do USB Host Mode. I ran USB Host Check, and Android.hardware.USB.host.xml was found, but, handheld_core_hardware.xml was not. I'm assuming this is why when I attempt to connect a USB device (nooelec USB sdr) i'm having issues working with the device even though I have the RTL2832U driver installed/configured.
I have not rooted. I'm assuming that the other xml/any other needed libraries needed to be able to power the device have to be installed in order to run this device without connecting it to a USB hub that is already powered, or? I tried to take a USB hub, plug the cable into an IPhone wall adapter so it'd have power, but, I had the same results.
Thoughts? I should still be able to use the device if I have an external power source, no?

USB hub problem

I'm considering to add a powered hub to my Hui because i want to connect a usb flash drive, a dab dongle, a hard disk and maybe a wifi dongle and i want to charge my cellphone.
Right now i have an unpowered USB hub connected to my usb storage port 1. When i connect 2 usb sticks to the hub only one is detected in android, when i also connect my dab dongle, my dongle works. When i remove the USB sitck which is not working and i plug it in my USB 2 storage its also not found ( in root explorer a white icon appears before the name "usb_storage2").
Can some one explain me why the USB storage devices are not mounted / found in android? Is it even possible to add more than 2 storage devices or USB devices to our Hui? Or do i have to mount a third USB storage device manually?? Or is it because o the less of power??
I don't think android currently supports more then one USB data device. I know there are workarounds but I have not tried any. Most of these devices come with at least one sd slot so I think most (myself included) just live with the one usb limit.

I'm guessing here, but do you mean a usb device? not usb drivers? Drivers you would install on your computer, a usb device u would plug into the other end of an OTG cable, right?
If you're talking about a usb device, like a usb stick, before connecting the usb stick with the otg cable, go to the development options and page down about 2/3 of the way and you can select what 'type' of usb connection to make... one is charging only, etc etc.
the one to select is MTP (media transfer protocol), then the usb stick should work.
Yes it's USB device, when I am trying to connect it via otg cable in my mobile it's doesn't open in my mia2

If the file system on the usb is ntfs then it won't work
In any case, if it still doesn't work, you can use this app

So it wasn't working on the pie beta but I didn't bother writing it here because I thought it was a beta so meh. Now since it's stable now, I am still unable to connect my Flash Drive to my phone. When I connect my usb to it, it does recognize the USB but then that's it. Like when I connect my usb, it doesn't show the usb in the "Files" or even in my 3rd Party files explorer. When I drag down the notification panel, it actually shows that a device has been connected and when I tap on that I'm redirected to a menu where there are 2 options. so is anyone else facing the same issue on Mi a2 or is it just me? Or am I doing something wrong?

I have the same issue. Tried with Mi A3 (Android 10) and it works normally. Plug into Mi A2 (Android 10) and it shows that device connected. Android System notification says -> Charging connected device via USB, tapping it shows USB Preferences. USB Preferences show that Usb Controlled By -> Connected Device and doesn't allow to change the option.

both of you should use stock pie stable miui and it will work.
for extra certainty try mixplorer and give it root with magisk and select the custom.otg driver option
in many cases the otg adapter you are trying to use might be crap ..
in many cases the charging port wasn't working and repair soldered on an unofficial part now it can only charge and otg or usb cable data to pc can't work
options:
1. connect usb to usb port on your router and use samba plugin from mixplorer to access it over the network ...
2. connect usb to your mia3 and send the file with midrop to.your mia2

Samsung Tab S2 - No USB connection

It only charges.
ive tried:
1) Other cables
2) Other Computers
3) Samsung USB Driver
4) enable Developer mode, enable USB Debugging
5) enable Developer mode, enable MTP (no sign of connecting)
6) Checked device manager on windows, not even a unknown device was found.

It sounds like the USB port may actually be bad. Is this tablet stock? If you have TWRP installed you may try connecting it from recovery. You might also try from Linux booted from a flash drive to take Windows out of the equation. The data pins and the power pins or separate, so it may just be that the data pins have been damaged.
Does the cable feel loose in the tablet?

Make AndroidAuto WIRELESS using 'USB over the Air'!

Hello, I have an idea how we can make the current Android Auto completely WIRELESS.
Idea is as follows:
Plug a micro Dongle in the car's USB port.
The Dongle will essentially be a WiFi Tranciever. (it may need custom code/firmware etc.)
The Dongle will talk to the Android Phone over WiFi (Because Bluetooth is already being used by Android Auto).
A custom program will be running on the Android phone to send ALL USB Data to the Dongle using WiFi.
Suggested Dongle models:
Xbee, Arduino with WiFi module, any other similar board, possibly any cheap Chinese WiFi USB dongle available on Ebay/Aliexpress.
Things to consider:
The Car's infotainment must recognize the Dongle when it is plugged in as a "USB device" (not a USB Stick/Flash Drive !!!)
The Dongle may need custom code/firmware that will start sending packets to the car's infotainment as soon as it is connected/powered up/car ignition is on, in order to Emulate a phone running android auto.
In the mean time, the app running on the phone will already be connected to the Dongle and the two will be talking to each other.
I you have any other suggestions, leave a comment bellow.
PS: Such devices (USB Over the Air) are actually available on the market, but are quite bulky. We need something smaller.
But even if it is big, we can use a Micro USB plug like this one with flat cable, that will run in the Phone tray, where the board will be hidden so it will not be visible at all!!! :good::laugh:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000325524998.html
Just cut the other end of the flat cable if needed and solder as necessary.
Again, if you have specific ideas/suggestions leave a comment bellow.
