Fastest ROM for Xperia SP? - Xperia SP Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hey
i have issues with my xperia sp.
do you know what is the fastest rom for xperia sp?

After you make sure you understand clearly all concepts required, such as doing system wide backups, how to restore your phone to a stock rom, how to unlock your bootloader, install a recovery and install a rom which is not the stock for your phone, you should check AdrianDC's ROMs for it.

[Q] Removing traces of Root

I have an Xperia Z C6603 which I purchased last month, updated to Android 4.2.2, and which is still under warranty.
I want to root the device so that I can make Nandroid backups among other things. I am going to use DooMLoRD's Easy Rooting Toolkit and have the necessary files in place ready to use.
After rooting I will have to install CWM Recovery in order to restore any Nandroid backups should I need to. I do not want to install a non-stock ROM at the moment as I'm quite happy with the performance of the stock ROM.
If I need to return the device under warranty I shall need to restore the stock, non-rooted, ROM and I have a stock ROM C6603_10.3.1.A.0.244_Generic UK.ftf to do that if required.
What I don't understand, even after doing lots of searches, is whether restoring the stock ROM will overwrite the CWM Recovery as that would be a bit of a giveaway.
Can anyone explain please?

Flashing stock FTF will first wipe your existing files on your phone (even Superuser / SuperSU / any superuser permission-app will be erased) and then replace everything. This will also erase any trace of custom recovery image that is existing on your Z!

[Q] Updating Xperia Z and what needs to be done?

Hi everyone..
I'm writing this post after being offline from XDA for quite a long while, so keep it cool when answering since my knowledge of what I'm talking about is very limited by now. I have an Xperia Z with eXistenZ 5.0 installed, Build number 10.4.B.0.569, which is a JB Rom and I'd like to try out some new roms, firmwares, recoveries and so on..
What I am interested in knowing is why does my recovery mod disappear, this has happened a few times, and also can I choose exactly the kernel that I want for any rom or does some roms only support special kernels? And what about the recovery mods? Are they depending on kernel as well? How do I update to a newer kernel from 10.4.B.0.569?
First of, I have unlocked my bootloader a very long time ago and I haven't gone back to Stock since then and I am not planning to do so. However to start updating my Xperia what should be done? I have already backed up my current rom with Titanium Backup.
For some reason I can't access recovery mode when powering on and pressing volume down, but I know for a fact that it's pretty easy to install a recovery again.
It would be very much appreciated if you would explain what should be done and why.
Looking forward to hearing from you..!

[Q] Which is the best rom for Sony Xperia SP (May 2014)

Greetings:
Recently I've acquired my Sony Xperia SP, and since then I've tried many roms available online. Until now, I'm not convinced with every one of them. Let me to tell my story step by step:
01. First I flashed my phone's kernel from .254 to .266 using Flashtool, and then I rooted it. Aparently, I did wrong the process and it bricked. Then again I flashed it again from stock rom and did it once again the rooting process successfully. Afterwards, I installed CWM Recovery.
02. The first rom I tried was PurEXPerience sirius 3.5.0 that I read it was based on Android 4.3 and I felt my phone well, but unfortunately failed the data mobile connection (I'm paying a 4G Mobile Service) and I tried and tried but I was unable to navegate using data mobile. Even inputting an access point manually; I didn't get the 4G network back.
03. Currently I'm using a flashed 4.3 Stock rom with root properties and triple recovery installed. Using Phil'z recovery mode, I did the basic wipes (Factory Reset, Cache, Dalvik), installed rom and SU update, and finally I flashed the baseband using Flashtool. The permomance now it's been quite strange. The 4G connectivity is back, but I felt the phone's perfomance too slow and it freezes time to time, specially using the Clean Master app. Even uninstalling some useless system apps, and I don't feel ay change at all.
I'm afraid that my phone won't be able to be as fast as I felt it using its original stock rom. Is there any suggestions about a rom available online, which could be fast, best performance and that I could get 4G connectivity without problems?
Thank you so much for your time.
P.S. Sorry for my bad english.

We do not allow best ROM/Kernel threads on XDA. The question is subjective, what's best for someone else may not be what is best for you. Best advice is to head over to the development section try some out and see which best suits your needs.

[Q] Restoring backup from recovery

Hi guys!
I feel the urge to try a custom ROM. I´m used to fiddle with these things on Samsung but I feel a little nervous doing it on my Xperia.
Here´s the deal: I have *230 stock firmware ODEXED with a CWM recovery. It also has the bootloader unlocked.
If I make a full backup from recovery, can I really just restore it on the Xperia if I´m not happy with the ROM I´m about to flash? The reason I´m asking is that I have to flash another kernel with the new ROM. Is it really possible to just restore everything that easy afterwards?
Thanx!

[Q] [Help] Changing custom ROM from eXistenZ Ultimate to another?

Hi, I rooted my Xperia z around 5 months ago and completely jumped straight into installing a custom ROM and not really done much after that and pretty much forgot everything I knew about rooting, ROM and kernels etc. - The ROM I currently have installed is eXistenZ 3.0.0 with build .283. i also have NDR Utils installed as my recovery option(?) - The installer i used was AROMA if that also helps with my problem. I can't even remember if i unlocked my bootloader or not, if there's a way to find out if it's locked/unlocked then i would be more than happy to try it
okaay so my problem is that I would like to change to a new custom ROM from the current ROM I have, I am aware of all the risks / dangers such as data loss etc. If you could post a tutorial for me to follow, i would be more than grateful. I hope you understand my problem Thanks for reading.

This is from official Sony website
Please note! It will only be possible to unlock the boot loader for certain releases. You can check if it is possible to unlock the boot loader of your device in the service menu by following the steps below:
In your device, open the dialler and enter *#*#7378423#*#* to access the service menu.
Tap Service info > Configuration > Rooting Status. If Bootloader unlock allowed says Yes, then you can continue with the next step. If it says No, or if the status is missing, your device cannot be unlocked.
To change a rom, you would need
an unlocked bootloader or a ROM that supports locked bootloader
A custom recovery
a ROM zip.
Head to the ROM thread you want to flash and read the instructions carefully.
I hope this is enough, however, if you need any further assistance, make sure you quote me for an answer.
Good Luck
