Lock the bootloader - Xiaomi Mi CC9 / Mi 9 Lite Questions & Answers

Hello everyone.
When I bought the mi 9 lite I unlocked the bootloader to root it, but in the end I didn't.
Now I want to make payments with NFC and I need to lock the bootloader.
Is there a safe way to lock the bootloader?
Thanks.

Hello, how did you unlock it? I've been trying to unlock mine but I can't

Ok, I see. If you want to and you can't one of the things that helped me unlock it was using a USB 2.0 hub instead of a USB 3.0 port

Can you tell me what steps did you follow?

Why cant you root with HTCDev?
im not sure that the warranty will still be okay if we unlock it
plus the phone is from orange and it might not work

you will loose guarantee either way as the bootloader will show as tempered. More chance to keep it valid if you use the tools HTC provided.
Orange should work just fine. Just try...
On another note i sent 2 phones for repair to HTC "unlocked" and they never charge me for the repair.
yes, i was thinking of only gettin root and not unlocking bootloader

You can undo the root and unlocked bootloader, before you send it to HTC. If you cannot undo because you have too big problems with the phone (frozzen phone,...) they cannot controll it either.

There are some tools here in XDA to do that. Try to find in P20 pro thread.

you don't need to lock your BL if you want to receive OTA ! anyway if you lock it you will be not able to unlock it again! my BL is unlocked and OTA update work perfect ! last OTA for L29 is 128 firmware but not 128a !

I said you to look here ==> https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p20-pro/development/tool-tool-one-driversunlocktwrpfactory-t3779416
Or use FunkyHuawei tools.

Do you have a stock recovery or a TWRP? As I've read somewhere on the forum you have to be on the stock recovery to flash OTAs. But let someone confirm this cause I don't have the P20 PRO yet.

Is it simple enough to do? And did you relock the bootloader when it was complete?

Yes, it's pretty simple. I made it because I wanted to transform my P20 pro single sim to dual sim and it worked !
After procedure the new bootloader become re-locked. You can't use anymore the Huawei code to unlock boootloader and you can't root the phone or install twrp.
Until Funky find a system to unlock without code.

I had heard that using any of Funky's procedures relocks the bootloader and the Huawei bootloader unlock code no longer works. But like a lot of people, I purchased my unlock code from a 3rd party. So it would be interesting to see if it survived a Funky method.

I didn't know that we can buy unlock codes.
But surely your code do not work after procedure!
Because Funky firmware chanche your bootloader code. And so unlock codes doesn't work anymore.

Yes there are a few sites offering bootlocker unlock codes. https://ministryofsolutions.com/huaw...-new-firmwares does them for 30€, although they only accept so many paypal payments per day. https://global-unlocking-solutions-...es,_Choose_Model_Below/p5093122_19186756.aspx is €35 but has no limitations on paypal payments. I believe that both are totally legit, according to P20 onwers here.
Funky Huawei is a strange one. If you use one of their options to, say, change your region, model number etc, it will lock your phone again and make your current bootloader password useless. And the bad thing about this is, they don't offer an unlock service. Unless you pay for their unlimited use pass, which costs $132. Then they throw in a free bootloader unlock. I'm not sure if the relock and code breaking is a deliberate act by Funky Huawei but personally speaking, they should be giving a new working code to anyone whose unlock code they've trashed.

Yes due to FRP, some people say they have had success. I think best way around it is to use DC Phoenix and use the unbricking method, they do have frp removal but I haven't tried it yet

Thx. I try to figure out what could trigger frp lock. I guess it was factory reset from recovery level.
Theoretically factory reset from settings should remove it.

yeah but then probably huawei was giving the bootloader codes and now they aren't and it is very unlikely to get it. And you need to unlock bootloader if you want to root your phone.

Question Relock bootloader

Hello. I wanted to root my redmi note 10s, and I unlocked the bootloader. But after reflexion, i want to cancel it, cause root will not be useful as I thought. Is it possible to relock the bootloader? And if yes, will the process erase all data ? And will everything be back like before? For example, will I be allowed to use Google One, witch doesn't work on bootloader unlocked devices ? Thanks by advance
