Hi,
maybe someone knows remedy. I use MI 11 with Stock Rom MIUI Global 12.0.9(RKBEUXM).
I use Sygic as my navigation app. Unfortunately no maps can be downloaded. The map downloads are always only in a queue. However, I suspect that it is due to the MIUI download app. The download jobs are queued there, but only have the status 'Waiting for connection', 'Waiting for new attempt' or 'Download failed'. If I copy the link from the downloads and paste it into Chrome, the files are loaded immediately, although it is of no use to me because Sygic then expects them elsewhere. This worked without any problems with all previous cell phones of Xiaomi.
Do you know of a remedy or adjustment screws for checking?
Best regards
Dirk
I'm in the same ROM and maps' download from inside the app work ok. I'm not sure at all about ur alternative approach of downloading sygic maps, sounds like 'unofficial'
What do you mean by 'unofficial'. Sygic was bought and used for several years. I only tested the links from the download app in chrome explorer. I tried factory reset today with same result no maps are downloaded. Download app is version 21.01.26.20. I have no idea what else i can do or check.
Update on 6pm:
Now I found solution myself. I registered as a beta tester for Sygic on my previous MI8 to test android car. Now i have uninstalled the beta version, installed the normal one and everything works perfectly. Maps are downloaded without download app.
Thank you for your attention
Best regards
Dirk

I wonder if any one has the same problem as I do. I upgraded google maps mobile to version 3.3.1 and deleted the old version during the install process. Since the opal has no build in gps, the positioning was done through the mobile network masts. Since the upgrade this function, also called quick location (using german version so term may be incorect) does not work very well.
Has anyone an old cab file of a previous version (not 3.3.1) of google maps mobile?
thanks a lot
EDIT: Managed to find some old direct download links in google. Fortunately you can still download the old versions directly from google. You just need the download links (or the exact Version number).
http://m.google.com/maps/download/binaries/L1/3.3.0/GoogleMaps.CAB?dc=gorganic&source=redirection
http://m.google.com/maps/download/binaries/L1/3.2.1/GoogleMaps.CAB?dc=gorganic&source=redirection
http://m.google.com/maps/download/binaries/L1/3.0.0.12/GoogleMaps.CAB?dc=gorganic&source=redirection
I just tried the 3.3.1 version of google maps. It zoomed in to some place in usa on first start, so I thought I have same problem as you (I am in austria). But when I zoomed in to my home location, i realized that the blue dot with circle around that indicates my location is still in same position as it was in earlier version.
Maybe that's what made you think it doesn't work anymore?
greetz
I'm not sure what you mean. Perhaps its best if I describe the error I had:
I installed 3.3.1 and used its location function. Everything worked fine and the Blue Point started moving with my position (You have to know I drove in a Bus with wifi internet access). An hour later when I started google maps again, I got my new location, but after a couple of minutes, my location was obviously not correct anymore because, the blue point showed my location on the map where I was an hour earlier. Reseting Google Maps caused it to show the correct position again for like one minute. After this minute my position on the map was again my earlier position.
After the downgrade everything works fine for me again
Try to install this:
HTCSensorSDK Disabler.CAB
Deactive the HTCSensorSDK with the Fix and Googlemaps works well. Also with Version 4.0.0.
Hello,
I am using a Nexus One with Cyanogen 6 RC3 on it. I have also flashed the google apps addon pack in order to have those apps.
My problem is the following; Two days ago I was able to use google maps navigation without problem. However now, anytime I use two addresses in Canada (where I live) for "Get Directions", the "Navigate" link never pops up. However the Navigate link is available when I use two US addresses. This is especially weird because if I access the Navigation app directly from my app drawer, I am able to use navigation between canadian addresses.
Just 2 days ago I was able to use navigation from within google maps and suddenly I am no longer able to. People have said to re-install google maps but I cannot seem to uninstall the maps application. Should I reflash the google apps pack?
Further, I apparently had auto updating enabled for maps but am unaware of any update that was applied.
Any help to be able to use the Navigation from within google maps within Canada would be greatly appreciated. I hope it is clear what my problem is, if you need more clarification please ask
Im not sure what the rule is about first replying to your own thread however I do have an update.
I re-flashed the latest google apps pack found here xttp://mirror.kanged.net/gapps/
The pack was the same one that I originally flashed however it seems after flashing now I have navigation functionality from within Google maps again. I am happy to have my problem resolved currently but I am curious as to why my Navigation functionality disappeared in the first place.
Hopefully someone knows or can explain what happened so I can prevent this kind of issue in the future. Thank again for all your time
you can try flashing RC2 back, couse many people are facing this issue!
I'm still experiencing this issue. I switched to Enom's rom to see if it fixed it but nope. My Google maps navigate link is sometimes available and then just doesn't show up other times. I am able to use the navigate app. I tried uninstalling maps with titanium backup and redoenloading it from the market, but I still have the problem with navigate.
When I first began my researches for new smartphone, I think I read MS2 came with a Motonav Demo. I've just got mine but cant find it. Can't find on Android Market either and Motorola Shop don't even show any app (is there something wrong or they haven't launched it on Brazil yet?)
I saw some posts in other forums showing the path (containing a download link) to install it but not sure if I can trust and if it will work on froyo. Anybody?
MotoNav was included in Milestone 1. Milestone 2 has google navigation by default.

Understand. The big difference is that Google Navigation doesn't have offline maps. Or is there anyway to get offlines maps for it?

Yes, google nav is far from perfect I'm not sure if motonav is available for standalone purchase, but there are few others offline nav apps for android. ATM I can remember copilot and navigon. Copilot looks and works nice, but I've heared people complaining about maps being a bit outdated and not precise in some areas. At least in Poland, other countries may have better support. I can't say anything useful about navigon: I looked it up and I didn't like it's interface and graphics, so I've chosen copilot.
Find out that Google Maps 5.0 can work offline using its cache. Just need to navigate trough the map within certain zoom while you still have a connection (such as Wifi).
Some other interesting improvents, too.

for offline navigation try use IGO, is a good gps navigator
you can find it at 'black market' or buy it on IGO SHOP for android
i recomend
Google's navigation caches routes before you take them (in the previous version there was a setting to allow it to do this on 3G, but I'm not sure if it's still there). It also stashes away all the stuff it's downloaded before in case you need to go there again. It uses vector graphics rather than tile based stuff too, which means you get a certain amount of available zoom without downloading any more data...works pretty well.
That said, if you need completely offline navigation, there are several programs from GPS vendors available...
I recommend google maps 5
does google maps 5 has been released?
I just downloaded "google map 5" apk but I'm not sure about it cuz the feature is not like whats described in the video.
In google maps 5 it's true that I can tilting and rotating with finger control, the maps loading time also fast but in my "google maps 5" the zoom level is not as big as in the video and there's no 3D building (I searched bryant park in google maps 5, I found it, but it was totally different with what it is look like between in my MS2 and the video trailer)
my question is: do I downloaded the right apk?

your motorola should come standard with google maps 5. however, if it doesnt, you can get it from the marketplace for free. there is however a new version of google maps, which is 5.3. according to the post, it should be available from the market place. however if you cant locate it, there are links to download the apk and then install it.

since its new, i suggest you read the comments before downloading it.

nice info
I've downloaded it and it's still the same.
I still can't see 3d building (in new york) and the zoom level of map terrain cannot reach the level I want.
I'm curious about why I cannot find this apps in android market..
is it because google maps 5 still in beta version or what?
at least, the satelite view is great

if you do have the latest version, im not quite sure why you cant see buildings in 3D. i dont seem to have a problem seeing buildings in 3d in new york.
however about you not being to search for google maps on the market place, i had the exact same problem. apparently the reason behind it is because google does not distribute applications in Malaysia and Indonesia and many other countries. therefore, the only other way to work around it will be to root your phone in order to obtain google maps and other such software. as soon as i locate the relevant link ill edit this post with it.
EDIT: here is the post i was looking for. its a similar question i asked some time back and this is the answer i got:
I also from M'sia, but i able to update it by doing some tricks.
U can't update directly if u are from Malaysia because currently M'sia still not in the Market List that fully distributing all applications. This link will provide you with that list:
http://www.google.com/support/androidmarket/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=138294
Solution: Go to Market & try to search "MarketEnabler" and u will know the trick.
U will be surprised by then.
Sorry, there is one more condition: Ur phone need to be Rooted!!

Thank God I've rooted my phone several days before.
so I installed market enabler and choose to fake my network as verizon.
and it's like magic..I searched "map" in android market then from out of nowhere suddenly google maps showed up at the first row (that's amazing)
then I choose google map and it says "open" rather than "update". It indicates that my maps is in the same version (5.3) with the one in android market.
Then I decide to uninstall update and reinstall it from android market.
It's work, now I can see 3D building on my maps (I like the moment when the buildings growing up from the ground, it's cool)
thank you agent008my now my maps become more colorful

you're most welcome. glad to be of help enjoy ur maps in 3D
I have an APK for Google Maps (6.14.4) that I want to install on my AT&T Note 3, but it won't install. It was somehow "signed" or otherwise modified to fool the Play Store into thinking it is the latest version or something, as the Play Store never offers to update it. I had trouble installing it (it just says app not installed when I try) when I first rooted my phone, but I somehow, after I froze some apps (but I can't remember which ones), got it to install before. However, I un-rooted my phone because it was defective, and I had to exchange it. That hasn't happened yet; long story, so I re-rooted and I'm again attempting to reinstall it.
Anybody know why it won't install?
All other APK's I try to install, including other Google Map 6.14.4 APK's, install fine, but I want this one so I can leave update all aps over Wi-Fi automatically selected, without worrying that Maps is going to be updated to that current HORRIBLE version!
Thanks,
Dennis
Buehler? Anyone? Class? Anyone?
Little help here, please?!
By the way, I took that PIECE OF JUNK Note 3 (I had MEGA problems with it!) back to AT&T and exchanged it for an LG Optimus G Pro (and, so far, I really like that phone).
My "re-signed" Google Maps 6.14.4 STILL won't install on my new Optimus G Pro, but another version of Google Maps 6.14.4 DOES install without any problem.
I want to use the "re-signed" version of Maps so I can allow all my apps to auto-update when I'm home and on my Wi-Fi connection, and not have to worry about Maps being updated to that new, horrible version!
Anyone know why this is?
Never mind. I figured it out & got it installed.
Can you post the apk. I can't stand the new version either. Slower, less clear, missing features etc... What was once my mot important app is now something I don't like to use or trust.

I'd like to second that request for the magic maps APK that has the old version of maps but doesn't prompt to update... The new maps app is so hard to work with.
Also, what was your solution for how to install it correctly?

O.K., I'm going to try to do this; I've never uploaded & posted a file to the forums here. If all goes well, it should appear below, I guess. You'll need to un-zip or un-pack it and get the apk out of it; I used 7-Zip to create it.
Here are the steps I followed to finally get it to install (I think you're going to need to be rooted in order to do this, and you'll need Titanium Backup downloaded and installed from the Market):
1. In Titanium Backup, select Maps and make a backup.
2. Select Maps and wipe data, then uninstall.
3. Select Street View and wipe data, then uninstall.
4. Install Google Maps 6.14.4.apk (I just e-mailed the apk to myself, opened the e-mail, clicked on the attachment, it fetched the attachment and then started the install automatically).
5. Go to market, and reinstall street view (if you want Street View).
If, after successfully installing it, you keep getting a "login failed" message when opening maps, just go into Titanium Backup, select maps, and choose restore data only (from the backup you made of the previous version, which you deleted; your backup will still be there). At least, that's what I did to solve that problem.
After you install this version, you can leave "Auto-update apps" checked in Google Play, and it'll never update maps!
By the way, I noticed a week or two ago that the maps look slightly different than they used to; main streets are no longer colored in yellow (I kinda wish they still were; Interstate highways now seem to be the only roads colored, in orange), and the view seems zoomed in slightly, with much more detail (more secondary roads showing on the map). Google must've updated their map data. All in all, it's a pretty good update (I just wish main, non-highway roads were still highlighted in yellow), and this version is still WAY better than the current version (which BLOWS BIG TIME!!)!
Any questions/problems, feel free to ask.

It didn't work for me, I think you zipped it up wrong. All you have to do is right click on the file and send it to a compressed (zipped) folder then link that to zipped folder on here. Thanks for the attemp though :good:

Hello @NestalSright
All Aps work differently some require google play services, other don't. Google Maps works offline with no problem but the Open Gapps needs to be flash, that maybe the case for maps.me.
I just tried HERE we go:
https://apkpure.com/here-wego-%E2%80%93-city-navigation/com.here.app.maps/download/1499111-APK-d8609aa06668ff1a2d19a14c5f902159?from=variants%2Fversion
Also it will help to install a Fake GPS location App:
https://apkpure.com/fake-gps-location/com.lexa.fakegps
Both listed Apps can be downloaded to PC using a web browser and then install on tablet.
Attached are screenshots using Evervol 7.1.2, but it should work with all the ROMS.
