Hi
I have tried the dummies guide concerning updating the HTC USB drivers but had a couple of issues:
1. If I press F8 during the boot process I get an abreviated version of the bois setup which has no selection for turning off digital signing of drivers. I have an ASUS motherboard so to enter the bois I press the DEL key. Whilst in the bios I can see no option for turning off the digital signing. The instructions in the thread simply don't work.
I have done some searching and found web pages that explain how to enter the command window, paste 2 or 3 lines of text to turn off digital signing and put W7 64 bit into a sort of test mode. I have done that and have "Test Mode Windows 7600" in the bottom right corner of my Desktop. I still can't install the HTC USB driver as it brings up an error due to being not signed.
Without installing the new driver I cant change my ROM. There must be others in the same boat having changed to Windows 7. Please help.
Ok a few things:
I'm on windows 7 x64 build 7600, I'm having NO problems, just connect your device in windows let it connect with active sync
Then de-connect your blacktsone, shut it down, and hold volume down button then press start up, it will now start in bootloader mode
Now re-connect and wait for it to get installed by your pc!
If you really DO need htc drivers
Go into your bios
Turn of any quick booting AND turn off full logog display
When windows is starting AFTER the bootscreen you'll get a screen with some sort of TABLE in it with all your hardware and all they're IRQ's
at THIS moment when you see this table press f8
Then you get a boot menu
and you can follow your guide with turning off the signed drivers etcetera!
Great Greet Giblet
wow dude, treat me like the idiot I am. Step by step please.
"Then de-connect your blacktsone" - i guess you mean take out the USB cable?
I wait for it to get re-installed but nothing happens whilst in bootloader and the word serial stays at the bottom of the screen
OMG
Oh my god, I am really frustrated becuase I managed to get it to work with your help but I don't know how. I must have tried everything 10 times without luck then all of a sudden it worked.
If only I knew what I was doing wrong I could pass it along to the next poor sap.
Thanks for your help.

Some options to get a new ROM on your device:
Alternative Option: Run ROM from storage card (this requires HSPL on your device)
- Connect your phone to your pc with the usb cable
- Choose Disk Drive option on your phone when presented with the choice.
- Extract the downloaded rar and if not called BLACIMG.nbh rename the romfile to that (ruusigned.nbh is commonly used so rename when so)
- Copy the BLACIMG.nbh to your phone's storage card via Windows Explorer where it should show up as an removable harddrive.
- Disconnect your phone from the pc once copy has finished.
- Shut down your phone.
- Press Volume Down (left top of phone) and keep it pressed while pressing the Start button (on top of phone) once.
- The bootloader (red, green, blue, white screen) will now start, it will detect the new rom file and ask you if you want to update your current one.
- Confirm and follow instructions on screen
Done.
As for your unsigned drivers i can offer some tips:
- Press F8 after you have seen all your hard drives recognized in the bios bootup screen but before you see the Windows Logo.
- F8 might be set as a bootselector menu by your motherboard manufacturer, if this gets in the way of trying the get to the F8 options from Windows you can disable it in your BIOS (to enter press del)
- If you have Windows 7 Ultimate you are entitled to XP-Mode which is basically a built in virtual machine of Windows XP within Windows 7, some people have been succesfull connection their phone to that XP installation and were able to update via it.
Hope this helps. together with the previous poster's comment you should come a long way, good luck.

Try this lil tuto:
1. Open the Windows Device Manager
2. Connect to phone in Fastboot mode (phone off -> Volume + key pressed -> connecting cable)
3. Connect your phone and ignore Windows messages. Quickly go to Device Manager and look for that just appeared "S1Boot Fastboot". Right click and click "Update Driver Software", once done you can relax, you can release the Volume + key and disconnect the phone. [NOTE: If Windows is trying to install the driver, you will not see "Update Driver Software" until it stops, so hurry].
4. Click "Search for driver software on your computer"
5. Click "Choose from a list of device drivers on my computer"
6. Select "Show all devices" (or something, I can not see the exact text)
7. Click "Use Disk ..."
8. Click "Browse ..."
9. Select the android_winusb.inf (in the folder with Fastboot usb_driver the USB drivers) and open
10. Click "OK"
11. If you get a list of 3 devices, choose "Android Bootloader Interface"
12. BEFORE pressing "Next" you need to reconnect the phone in fastboot mode, here you have to be fast again. Unplug the phone if you had not done before. Plug it back into fastboot mode. Once you do click "Next" on the computer.
13. If you followed the instructions correctly have the drivers installed before the phone was disconnected again.
14. Now you have the drivers installed, the phone will not slip out of Fastboot mode and everything should work properly.

DONE!
But, I was trying to unlock bootloader. Where I can see if it worked? Now I see that my sdcard0 has formatted with internal data. But I'm trying to install CWM with a kernel.elf (autoroot & CWM) using Flashtool. But... Flashtool says that I must be rooted before doing this. WUT?
Edit: I also see that I lost DRM keys, but I've got a backup to restore them. So... bootloader is unlocked!
Edit: RESOLVED! I restored DRM keys before flash kernel.elf, and it was wrong. So I repeated the procedure without DRM keys and... beautiful CWM with root now I think I can restore my DRM keys. Heheh

Alright, so many or some have known that i had an sticky situation with my LG G watch whereby I couldn't get it to update it to a new Software Update.
But a plonker manifested inside it, it was that I couldn't even make my device recognizeable in the Bootloader menu or Fastboot menu. I will show you how to eradicate that son of a gun!
1. Plug in your LGGWATCHR into your computer in fastboot state
2. Go to control panel, then to hardware and sounds
3. Click Device Manager
4. Locate the name Android Device or similar
5. Here is the most distressing part.
5,1. Right click on the children of Android device and press properties
5,2. Go to Drivers and press Update Driver
5,3. Press Browse my computer for driver
5,4. You will be prompted a directory, instead press the button below it called 'Let me pick from a list of Drivers installed on my computer'
6. Now I was so stupid i couldn't even see this little checkbox right above the drivers for 3 weeks!. Alright for me and/or for you, you might only see a 'model' called
'Android Bootloader Interface'. Now, there should be a CHECKBOX above there STATING 'Show Compatible Drivers'.
7. Uncheck that and voila, you got ABD Sooner device. Press that and finish.
Please post your comment if you have any trouble!
dıd not work for me
Disclaimer:
I am not responsible for what you do to your device, I tested these things for myself and posted it from my own experience, if you point the finger at me for whatever happens to your device, I will laugh at you.
HOWEVER, I am willing to help as long as it is asked kindly, and provided me with enough information.
Requirements:
Huawei P8 Lite ALE-L21 (DUAL-SIM)
5.0 Firmware of choice
Unlocked bootloader
Patience
Correct drivers
SD card of atleast 8 GB
Drivers: Install these before even starting!
Minimal ADB Fastboot drivers
Huawei HiSuite
Kingoroot Windows
TWRP 3.0.2.0 Kirin variant
Preparing environment: Making sure no admin priveledge is necessary
Install all drivers mentioned above in their standard directories, don't change anything.
Go to the following path:
Code:
For x64 OS:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot
For x86_32 OS:
C:\Program Files\Minimal ADB and Fastboot
Copy these files:
Code:
adb.exe
AdbWinApi.dll
AdbWinUsbApi.dll
fastboot.exe
And paste them on the desktop, in a folder called "rootingtools" so you're easily able to find it.
Then, go to your phone and enable USB debugging mode by going to
settings - about phone - press Build number 7 times
settings - developer options - USB debugging
Copy the content of "TWRP-3.0.0-2_P8-lite_KIRIN_variant.zip" and paste it into the "rootingtools" folder.
Backing up: Even though the unlocking process is not going to wipe your data, atleast it didn't for me, make SURE you have everything that you need backed up from the phone's internal memory.
Backing up your SD card wouldn't hurt neither.
First things first, unlock your bootloader!
I used this: https://emui.huawei.com/en/plugin.php?id=unlock&mod=detail
What you do is: fill in everything correctly and get the number at the end. It should be something in the words of:
Code:
Your unlocking password is: XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX
(X resembles numbers, 16 numbers in total)
Copy the 16 numbers and go to the "rootingtools" folder on your desktop.
Hold the SHIFT key and right click inside the folder, then press "open command window here"
Now take your phone, power it off and power it on by holding volume DOWN and POWER.
You will get a white screen that says something like fastboot, and an android logo.
Plug your phone into the PC via USB cable.
In the command window write:
Code:
fastboot.exe oem unlock UNLOCKKEY
Where UNLOCKKEY represents the key you just copied, right clicking pastes the key in the command window.
It should return finished, so now your phone should be unlocked!
If you look at the screen, there will be text beneath the green Android logo saying "unlocked".
In this case, the operation has succeeded and you can go to the next step, else you can try again or post a reply.
Now write:
Code:
fastboot.exe reboot
Now the phone will boot up like normal.
Close the command window.
Android 5.0:
If your android version right now is Android 5.0, and you actually WANT to root 5.0 or anything below 6.0 you can proceed with this step, if you have 6.0 or want to root 6.0, skip this step.
Since your android version is 5.0 you're blessed!
You can easily root, but before proceeding you might want to make a backup
Make sure you have about 8GB of free storage either on an SD card or internal memory first.
Connect your phone to your PC in the booted-up state where you can see the homescreen, making sure that USB debugging is enabled.
Shift + right click inside the rootingtools folder to open a command window and write:
Code:
adb.exe reboot-bootloader
Your phone will reboot into the bootloader, a white screen with a green Android logo that says "unlocked" beneath it.
Now on the command window write:
Code:
fastboot.exe flash recovery recovery.img
Wait for it to finish and pull out the USB cable so it is NOT attached.
Power off the device by holding the power button, and power up by pressing volume UP + POWER.
Keep holding volume up until you see the Team Win logo.
Just slide the slider to the right.
Now go to "backup" and check every partition available.
In "name" you write:
Code:
MainBackupURTD
Then, go to the "options" tab and enable compression.
Go back to the "backup" tab and press "select storage".
From here you can choose where to back your data up, whether it be the internal storage or external SD card.
Press OK and swipe the slider to the right to start backing up.
Plug your phone in to make sure it doesn't power off during backing up, this process takes a while and you should let it do its thing.
When done, press "reboot system", your phone will reboot.
Let it fully start up.
Then, run Kingoroot on your PC.
Meanwhile, download the "SuperSU" app from the Play store.
Press the big "ROOT" button in Kingoroot and press "cancel" on every app your phone tries to install.
That way you will not install Kingoroot but SuperSU.
It will say "succeeded".
Now you can go on your phone and open the SuperSU app.
It will ask for an upgrade, press OK and go further with the normal installation (not the TWRP/CWM installation).
Let it do its thing and restart your phone.
Install any root checker and see if you're rooted!
Android 6.0:
Firmware version B188 or higher, below B524/B535 (excluding B524/B535):Upgrade firmware to this one: LINK (Link fixed)
Installation instructions: place file to the "dload" folder in your SD card or internal storage, then go to settings - updates - menu - local update and press the update.zip.
Then, follow the guide reported here: http://rootmygalaxy.net/root-huawei-p8-lite-android-marshmallow-6-0-update/
Enabling Gyro sensor (rooted android 6.0, B524/B535 firmware only! ( sorry :[ ) ):
Download attached file.
Put attached file to SD card.
Open ES file explorer, swipe to the right, enable root browser and click the R/W tab, then set /system as RW.
Then copy the attached file.
Paste the attached file in /system/etc/permissions
Press the search button and search for "gyro" without quotation marks.
Long press the only file that's there - menu and press properties.
Then change the permissions to 644, it should look like this O represents off, X represents on;
X X O
X O O
X O O
Set UID is off, Set GID is off, Sticky bit is off.
Reboot phone and download "Sensor box for Android" on the Play store and enjoy your gyroscope!
Now you can use Google Cardboard, though you have to install the APK...
You can watch 360 videos on youtube too.

Hiya, will the gyro hack work on a L02 B130 Android 5.0 as i can't get an update to 6.0 here in New Zealand?
unable to get unlock code
The Huawei ID used to apply for the unlock code has not been used on the device for more than 14 days.
@sevenaudio
As far as I know, the hack is for android 6.0 but there should be no problem in trying it out
It's just that it only worked for me on these FW
@DrLittle
I think Huawei has this policy of using your Huawei ID for 2 weeks (2 weeks online time) before you can unlock it
You could try sending them an email!

I have android 6.0 firmware B311 and it doesn't show up the option local update, what should I do?
Attach pictures please
Its in portuguese, I had the option on the stock ROM but i don't have it now.
Should I downgrade to the firmware B300 and then install the new firmware?
do you think this works with ALE-L21 single sim too?
