I am up for a new smartphone and a new car. (Thinking Galaxy S21 and Hyundai Santa Fe)
Would it be possible to have (at the same time, on the same smartphone) a Wireless Android Auto connection to the car, and a WiFi Hotspot active so that other people in the car can use my data plan?
If not, a USB connection to the car for AA solves the problem, right?
Thanks!

if i connect to another phone with bluetooth,can i pick up their 3g/4g/or w/e internet connection that their carrier provides them with my rooted htc hero?, i have the wifi tether app dont know if that would help
Short answer - no. WiFi tethering allows your HTC Hero unit to act as a wireless 'hotspot' for other WiFi-enabled devices to connect to, using a cellular data connection on the host device. Bluetooth on most phones was not intended to be used for modem and tethering purposes.
Hi guys i have a nexus 7 2013 installed in the dash car as entertaiment system.
I would like to ask you some help to share the internet access of the phone with the tablet, that has a low data subscription.
I tought about a profile on the tablet trigged by screen on that turn on bt and some how tells to the phone to active the bt, pair with the tablet and share the internet access.
Can you please help me? I don't know where to start.
Thank you in advance.
I have something sort of similar set up, but the other way around (profile is on my phone, car head unit doesn't need tasker). It looks like:
Profile:
State=BT connected 'Car Kit'
Task=WiFi Tether set On
Exit task=WiFi set On
So...when the phone sees it is connected to the car via bluetooth, it turns on mobile hotspot. The phone is a known wifi network to the car, so the car connects automatically. When the connection is dropped (i.e.; the car turns off), the phone turns wifi on which also turns off the hotspot.
Not exactly what you're trying to do, but more or less the same effect.
I am trying to achieve the following effect and for my life can't figure out how to do it.
Hardware: Samsung Galaxy Watch, Samsung S10+ (unrooted) and My Car with android auto
So the Galaxy Watch should connect to bluetooth when my mobile is connected to wifi, disconnect the watch when the wifi is disconnected so that it is automatically connected to the car when I turn on the ignition. However, if the car is not connected with my mobile in 15 mins, the watch should connect again irrespective of the wifi state.
Basically, i want my phone to connect to my car bluetooth if i am in the car and to the watch if not. I was hoping to use the Wifi connection as a determinator that I am going out if not connected to it.

Super easy...
Create a Profile-> State ->net -> wifi
Give desired settings of your WiFi
Use task Bluetooth connect to watch
Add an exit task to the same profile to connect to car Bluetooth.
However better option is not to use WiFi rather use Bluetooth near state in Tasker .
Hello, I have searched the forum for this topic and I have not found anything related. I've been reading you for several weeks and today I decided to register.
A month ago I bought the Sony XAV AX 100 radio and I am delighted with it. But I can't make Android Auto work with bluetooth, without cable. I have a Samsung S8 and, in the Android Auto app I have checked the option to start by bluetooth automatically but it does not start when I connect the phone to the radio. Can anybody help me? I think it is Sony XAV AX 100 problem that should not support android car with bluetooth, only with cable.
Thank you very much and greetings.

That headunit doesn't support Android Auto wireless (which uses Wi-Fi). AA will only work if your phone is connected via USB.
You could connect the phone via Bluetooth only and play music and/or use handsfree telephone. But not AA.
Android Auto, because it uses the GPS, is a battery suck. I'm not saying that's a problem, it's just a fact. You would want to plug your phone into power while using AA anyway.
I use NetDot Gen10 magnetic USB cables, and it makes it more convenient, especially since I use both AA and CarPlay.

That's inaccurate. If the headunit has GPS, Google Maps when running via AA will use that instead of the phone's GPS. I've heard that Google requires AA wireless HUs to have a GPS, but can't point to anything authoritative to back that up. All the units I've seen which support AA wireless (JVC/Kenwood and Pioneer) include GPS receivers.
ive got ford ecosport titanium S edition my headunit is supports android auto as well as carplay and it has got built in wifi reciver through which i update firmware my doubt is that why canit i connet aa wirelessly with my phone ive got iphonee 11 & op7t but i couldnt connet any solution ??? i have seen aa wireless dongle but i would like to know is there any possible solution to connect wirelessly without dongle!
I don't know why they don't offer it but I have many guesses.
Fortunately AAWireless works very well on SYNC. It's just hard to purchase at the moment.
