Guys, I have wasted a lot of time finding the perfect camera to bring out the juice of redmi 5.
And now, I have came up with this.
Note:[important]
This camera mod is supported only in Pixel Experience pie normal edition's latest version with the stock pe pie kernel.
##read the full op before download.
As usual, the mod credit goes to (Arnova). i just found the trick, that's all. He created the files, not me.
(THESE ARE FOR PE RUNNING ANDROID PIE 9.0 ONLY. ANY OTHER VERSION WILL CAUSE PARSE ERROR ON INSTALLATION.)
Steps:
1.download the "install this first" (size around 30 mb) file. install and open it. give permissions and then exit.
2.Then download the "after configuration,install .."file.(size around 142 mb.)
then install it.
results:
1.the front camera works like charm.
u guys don't have to keep hdr+ off anymore.
hdr+, hdr+ enhanced, raw, portrait, night sight... everything works on front camera.
2.Back camera has some lag,,but gets normal if shooting in good lighting conditions. again, all the functions work.
slow motion shows and works, but the videos get very bad resolution.try installation of open camera to shoot the hell out of rosy.
It has google AWB implementation. highlight balance is just great. will provide photo samples below.
How it happened?:
i don't know.
Ask the devs how can a custom apk can be updated?
the first file was v5.2.x
the second file was 6.2.x and optimized for razer phone 2.
these both got merged and final size takes 142 mb of system memory. App takes time to launch.
important(2):
settings(must) to reduce lag:
1.turn off the auto focus data showing up on screen.
2.revert every function to google defaults.
3.follow screenshots.
Reply if u guys need to know anything more..
Nice to help u all.

2 night sight samples.
1 daylight sample.
screenshots of suggested settings.
Thank you OP! Can confirm that Night Sight works perfectly; I have been getting 1/6s exposures with the app. However the same autofocus issue still remains.
Can i install for cusrom evolution X?? Answer please

Hi guys,
I just bought this phone and tried some custom rom, and it works perfectly!
I have just a couple of questions about the camera,
How can I know if, for example, the google camera port is using the telelens instead the main camera?
I just love to have the pixel experience on my mi8 but, I want also to be able to use all the cameras in my phone. I also searched the 4k60fps option in google camera or im ANXCamera but the maximum setting is 4k30fps.
I tried to learn something more in some thread and i found that many people talks about the impossible to access the second camera through the api2.
I'm honest, I don't have the knowledge to understand all that, so I'm asking you, did you know some guide that can help me out?
I just want to know if with an aosp rom is possibile to access the full potential of mi8 camera, nothing else. I wish I could use some google experience instead the miui but with a complete camera app.
Thank you
Thomas
What is purpose of this prop? It appeared after android 10 update. I could not find any information about it but I cannot use second rear camera with any third party apps. I tried changing camera.aux.packagelist, vendor.camera.aux.packagelist, persist.vendor.camera.expose.aux, I also added persist.camera.expose.aux but apps still can't detect second rear camera. Does anyone know values of prop in the title?
Thanks in advance.
Edit: persist.vendor.camera.switch.aux=unknown
If you want to use the second cam on the rear you need different things:
1. A gcam that can switch between cams like the latest The_Dise version here: https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/dev-the_dise/#apk1549
2. You also need the Magisk module to enable the auxiliary buttons. You can download this from within The_Dise's gcam or from here directly: https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/cfiles/gcm1/dmgcaux_v1.zip
3. You need a ROM that can handle it. It didn't work on stock for me, but on Pixel Experience it works.
All and all it was not worth the trouble in my opinion, but I just wanted to test it. I think it has more purpose for the higher end phones with more different cams on their back.
MiUI EU, Arrow OS, lineage OS, paranoid android?
Which do you prefer or dislike and why?
Hi. i use since one week "aosp extended" version 8.6 with included miui camera. this is for me the best rom for our phone. everything is working. i use this rom with elipson kernel. just try this rom !

MIUI camera means here ANX camera?
AOSP Extended is a great and fully functional daily driver.
I've tried most of the popular roms for our device. In terms of stability, IMO you can't go wrong with either ArrowOS, AOSPExtended or Xiaomi.eu if you prefer MIUI. crDroid is not bad either, but I had issues with Snapchat voice calls breaking up with the screen off. Otherwise it was also good.
ArrowOS: Great battery, very stable, everything works. The included camera is very basic though. ANX Cam 204 works great though but requires root.
AOSPExtended: Also great battery life, is very stable, and includes ANX camera (but dark mode didn't work for me). Hey google doesn't work though (requires a workaround as posted by fobtob387 in the AEX thread) and currently charging is a bit slow on this rom but I would imagine will get fixed soon.
Xiaomi.eu: Stock so everything works fine. I found it to be fast, stable and the battery life was good. I just prefer AOSP.
crDroid: Great battery, quite stable, includes ANX Camera 204 with working dark mode. But again I had snapchat voice call issues, which I use often with my niece.
I installed Pixel Experience but it currently has a bug where it thinks the external SD card is corrupt and can't read it. It asks to format, which I do not want to do and this doesn't happen with any other rom I've tried.
LOS18.1 unofficial seems to be another good one but I haven't tried yet.
For me, I'm debating between AOSPExtended and ArrowOS. I'm gonna test both roms out for a longer period of time and see if I experience any bugs. I'll reconsider crDroid if they can fix the snapchat problem.

Great info, thanks.
Does it make sense to search for a ROM that comes with MicroG if I want to use Google Photos, Google Books, Gmail (not calendar), Google Maps, Google Play? If I understand correctly MicroG is a drop-in replacement for some proprietary piece of Google software. I suppose the advantage of MicroG would be to have less tracking.
Id also like to use GCam (because this is the best camera app?), Youtube Vanced (because its a better youtube app)
I'd also like NFC payments to function.
I been using crDroid 7.10 and its very stable. Good battery, anx camera included and Google Pay works fine. No messing about. Although it's only been one day I've been using but everybody works great from what I can see. Charging was decent but not super fast, wasn't slow either.

I'm not very familiar with microg tbh.
As far as cameras go, someone else might be able to answer this better. But from my understanding, stock MIUI camera is very good. Gcam can look as good or maybe better, with some tweaking or using someone's config file.

No camera has been fine on all of the roms I've tried. The only problem I have with snap are either staticy voice calls, delayed messages (or until I unlock/turn on the phone).

As the title says, i have note 9s with pixel exprience rom and magisk.
I just noticed in gcam, i have only main cera and front camera! There are no such things as macro or wide!
I dont think i had these problems on lineage os (or did i? I dont really know)
Is there anyway to make rom recognize those cameras? (Like drivers or magisk modules or something?)
Anx camera doesn't support my device so i have no choice
I really like Pixel exprience (i like having google apps as my default apps, not like lineage os or miui who have their own apps. I also like the Quick tap, gaming mode and Material you present in android 12 and much more of android 12... Its hard to go back from android 12 to something else)
Also, i have tried this:
Did you figure out how to do it? I have the same scenario with my Xiaomi 10 lite 5G...
OK. I hade the macro and wide lenses in PE, but then switched to Lineage, and now they're gone -- even if I use gcamator to install gcam
Anyone with a fix??
