Hello everyone,
Searched the forums and could not find a definitive info regarding this, apologize in advance if i missed it.
I'm soon to receive my mi 11 ultra china version.
Alltough the bands used by all the carriers in my country are all supported, i've read somewhere on the mi 11 forum that the modem settings for china are different from the global/eu rom ( at least for the mi 11 ).
Wanted to know if i flash the original global/eea rom from xiaomi via the official tool, will i also get the modem configuration from the global/eea rom ? ( Just like the global mi 11 ultra )
Cheers !

i think you can BUT, don NOT lock the BL when you have a cn version running global or EEA.
As far as i know you can flash other versions as long as you keep BL unlocked, or it wil brick and you need EDL

You can unbrick now without edl iirc
There is a method on YouTube but I haven't needed to try it yet
When you down load the ZIP document with ROM every week, boot (kernel) & device ... Some instances it is also called modem or baseband (no idea what is the right ... I have Mi4w with miui7 ultimate international builders model.

If you mean the modem configuration like unlock needed bands it won't work.
I am not sure, but I guess it can be done. As far as I know, you can flash other versions after you keep the BL unlocked, I hope it works for you.
I'm on a china model in the US with the global rom installed...I would love to be able to use 5g. I would have to believe that if the hardware supports 5G and the modem software is preventing it there must be a way to get it to work.

This is an older thread but wondering (1) did the baseband change to global after flashing the global rom? (2) Did it then pick up the band 66 (IF broadcast by your carrier in your area...not necessarily everywhere) Thanks
edit...folks are imo incorrectly focused on 5g (getting 5g or not) as its deployment is very spotty. Further if you check via signal check lite or Lte discovery apps, you will see that even if the phone shows 5G in status bar (lots of folks say they 'get' 5g based on that) the actual band is an LTE band usually (this is even with Apple iphones-have tested them out both on Tmobile and AT&T in my area...the 5G is mostly bunk imo and just marketing). ANyway, I digress. Does the flashing of global rom change the baseband to the global baseband and is the phone then able to pick up LTE 66 IF broadcast in your area?

As seems Xiaomi unfortunately decided not to bring the pro version to Europe (no mi 9t pro) I am wondering if it is possible to make the missing B20 available on the Redmi K20 pro.
I am guessing it is not hardware limitation, right?
It's maybe not hardware limited. But need the current Qualcomm QPST tool to configure LTE bands for 845 and later SOC 855.
The previous version QPST tool (can find in XDA)can only add bands for old SOCs like 820/835 etc.
Some newer QPST tool can be downloaded from other site, but need a available account to log in.
isn't mi 9 using the same modem (x24)? Perhaps we can use its baseband

Same hardware, different configuration file, maybe the baseband partition is strongly encrypted by Qualcomm.
I've tried to force flashing mi 8 firmware into poco f1 (same SOC, and f1 lacks some frequency bands), no baseband is added to poco f1.
So I guess, if users force flashing mi 9 firmware into k20pro, k20pro's baseband may not change.
Sounds not promising
Hopefully we'll find something anyway

Started looking into this for the Redmi Note 7 Pro which as we know never had a global release. I live in the United States and need more bands to get decent coverage. Sounded complicated with the possibility of bricking the phone. I'll have to wait for the official global release if it does come. They didn't rule it out yet as they did before the Redmi Note 7 global version came out. These were some comments earlier on GSMArena about possible delays. https://forum.xda-developers.com/k20-pro/how-to/redmi-k20-pro-xiaomi-mi-9t-pro-global-t3939580
Does not sound promising, indeed.
I really need B20 for Germany, so I am really thinking about getting the Lenovo Z6 instead. Yes I know, it has a small notch but I need a replacement.
Will this work? https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note/general/unlock-lte-bands-step-step-xiaomi-mi-t3084774
No go for Band 20, but lots of people managed to unlock Band 4 in this thread. I'd love to hand band 4 on the K20 Pro.

If I remember correctly Xiaomi Mi Note has Snapdragon 810. To be functional in the Xiaomi K20 Pro we would need a version of QPST and QXDM updated and functional with SD 845 and 855, as the partner above said.
Maybe it will be possible soon, do not dismiss it. We must be optimists.

I thought the same when I saw this info, but if you look further at other releases and ROMs for another device, you'll notice they are very careful with this info. You will notice too that it's many bands, but it's not all.
I guess if Mi9 has already, we'll find a way (eventually) to unlock the bands.
its must be a stuppid question, but what have we got to loose, right...

Hello All,
A friend of mine will be traveling to china the next week, and i can ask him to get me a K20 Pro device.
So i need your advice if i can later install the Global ROM easily without harming the device ?
A friend if mine wants one too, but he uses the phone in Arabic, So does the Global Rom contain Arabic language ?!
Where to buy the phone from Shenzhen - China, and how much it will cost for the 128/8 and 256/8 versions
Thanks all
There's nothing like Global rom as of now. There's either China rom or India rom. Global rom would only be released once K20 is released in Global markets. Your best bet is to either use India or miui.eu rom which both suppport multi-lang. The prices of K20 pro in China have recently received a price cut and your friend can easily get the devices from the Official MI stores. Check mi.com for the latest price, conversion and store info.
To flash EU or India rom or Global(Post Release) rom, you'll have to keep bootloader unlocked forever. Locking it back while being on any other Rom from the Original rom (China) will brick the device.
Not sure if you plan to use any apps that highly depend on a locked bootloader.

Easy to check, search for yours and your friend's carrier frequencies for every band, then compare with this site:
https://www.frequencycheck.com/mode...[device_brand_id_eq]=&q[frequency_bands_id_eq
This is a list that shows you which of the frequencies does K20 Pro support.

Yep. China version has two other languages apart from Chinese and English. You'll get OTA's aswell. Just that you'll to have to debloat and Install Google Play and Services manually initially. Too much of Junk comes pre-installed which can be uninstalled easily.
If you're getting the device from MI home or mi.com then nothing to worry as you'll get a sealed device. If your friend orders it online (Ali, gearbest etc) then look for sealed devices in the listing or ask the seller in PM. Most of the sellers online, unlock the devices and flash a fake global rom to be able to sell them globally. There's also an MI official store on Ali, which will give you a sealed device. But, if a MI store is closeby, then nothing like getting in person from there.
I have used this device extensively for the last 2 weeks and i don't see any major challenges. Fantastic VFM device with up to date features. Just minor software bugs that'll iron out with time.
China version has NFC as an added advantage which the India unit misses on. Not sure if the Global units will get it. Another advantage of China model is that it gets you beta access. Beta builds (more stable while still being beta) are still available for China only models while Xiaomi few months back phased out global beta builds to focus on stable channel. Android Q beta is only available for China models as of now.

You'll need an unlocked bootloader to flash the Global Rom (Official or MIUI.Eu) Till the time you're on an Official rom, irrespective of whether it is Chinese or Global, you'll always get OTA's. Just that you can't lock the bootloader of a Chinese device with Global rom on it. Moreover, unlocking the bootloader doesn't effect the OTA updates.

Your use of the device is subjective. Unlocking the bootloader would show the device as uncertified in the playstore. You can't play FHD Videos in Netflix because your L1 certification would be downgraded. Any pay apps that you might wanna use, GPay etc you won't be able to use that.
All.of the above could have been fixed if Xiaomi didn't probhit people from locking Bootloaders of Chinese variants with global roms. This was possible a year back but it's getting harder day by day.
Band 20 is missing on the China Device. Usually the Global variants would have that. Some countries use that band for VoLTE service, check that with your service provider.
Honestly, I can live w/o all the above because my usage doesn't require them. Not sure about yours.

You can use it with the Chinese ROM. Not sure where this has come from that it only works in China. The issue is more about tap to pay apps don't work on the Chinese ROM. I know GPay doesn't play with Chinese MIUI, but not sure what else doesn't.
Once you've installed a custom ROM, then it's irrelevant (obviously excluding Indian models) which version of the phone you have. Any fixes required to get financial and tap to pay apps will work on all models with NFC hardware.

No hardware/software wise band 20 is not there and it is a Qualcomm firmware thingy that blocked band 20 for all K20(Pro).
You can flash any Rom that you want but on as well the Indian as the Chinese K20(Pro) band 20 is not available.

Yes, but that is firmware, like your say. Physical hardware is the same, it's the firmware (software) controlling it that is different.
So here I've gathered some information found in the internet but I still have some confusions. Please help me.

RAPHAELEEAGlobal - MI 9T - XXXEUXX - European
RAPHAELININ - K20 Pro - XXXINXX - Indian
RAPHAELRUGlobal - MI 9T - XXXRUXX - Russian
RAPHAELGlobal - ??? - XXXMIXX - ???
Which region is RAPHAELGlobal and what's it called?
Which region has call recording?
Which region gets updates fast (except China)?
And lastly I know that the Indian variant has no NFC but I don't know if all the others have.
Just buy a k20 pro/mi 9t aka Raphael and install miui.eu for the best stock setup without ads, with nfc, call recording.
There's only two models Raphael and Raphaeli. The latter which is Indian and without nfc.

The global version is for all others regions that don't have a specific region ROM and is for the global version of the Mi 9T Pro. You might want to call it global Global.
Europe and global ROMs don't have call recording.
So far, for MIUI 11, India came first, then European, global has not got a MIUI 11 release yet. But there's no guarantee that will always be the same order in future.
All other versions have NFC.

The phone is Mi 9T Pro outside of China and India.
Yes, you can flash any region ROM on any region phone. (So can flash a global ROM for the Mi 9T Pro onto a Chinese K20 Pro.) OTA updates will continue to work.
You need to unlock the bootloader to be able to cross flash ROMs from different regions and you will not be able to lock it after. You will brick the phone if you try to relock the bootloader with a ROM for a different region installed.

I hope you guys don't do this. Many people have bricked their phones doing this.
Indian version does not have NFC.

They only brick their phones because they forget to change the flash option and so accidentally lock the bootloader. I have pointed that out in my above post.

Yes, you can flash any region ROM on any region phone. (So can flash a global ROM for the Mi 9T Pro onto a Chinese K20 Pro.) OTA updates will continue to work.

Thanks, where can I find all the fastboot ROMs? It seems Xiaomi changed "en.miui.com/a-234.html" this link, I wasn't active on the development side of Android for some times so I'm kinda lost.

These are untouched and taken directly from the Xiaomi download pages. Probably the best source for Xiaomi ROMs outside of official Xiaomi website.
https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/miui/
The old global MIUI site had moved to the new Mi Community site. Check it out here https://c.mi.com/global.
The article you link to has been moved to the Mi Community site, but recently, within the last month or so, I've no longer been able to find it.
I believe I have posted links to the new version previously here, so if I searched my xda posts I might be able to find the link to it's new home.

This is the official fastboot guide, which also contains all the latest fastboot ROMs.
For some reason I get a blank page on my phone. I have to change to desktop mode on my browser in order to see this.

Hello guys,
Can someone please help me out? I have a CN version MI 11. I live in Greece. 5G was working fine on both my sims while on CN ROM.
I then unlocked my bootloader and flashed the EEA ROM from here : https://c.mi.com/thread-3603220-1-0.html . Unfortunately this broke 5G service on my phone, I can now only connect as 4G+ maximum even though 5G is selected.
Then I flashed Xiaomi.eu ROM ( from here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/rom-miui-venus-xiaomi-eu-rom-for-xiaomi-mi-11.4219357/ )thinking that would fix the issue. Unfortunately the problem persists, nothing really changed.
I suspect this is because my Phone Model Name changed on the 1st flash and my service provider no longer recognises my device as a 5G one. My current model number is M2011K2C, however my last google backup was under MI 11.
This is just speculation though, I am not what is causing this.
Can anybody help me please? What do your guys phones list as model name?
PS : both versions of MI 11 support 5G in Greece, see here : https://www.kimovil.com/en/frequency-checker/GR/xiaomi-mi-11?deviceForPrices=xiaomi-mi-11-cn
I don't think you lost 5G, there is a possibility you never had it.
The CN version with the CN rom shows 5G icon even when you don't have 5G, if there is some 5G coverage. It showed 5G for me even when I didn't have 5G access on my sim. The CN Mi 11 isn't compatible with 5G on some carriers, where the global Mi 11 is. Did you do a speed test? Did you actually have 5G speeds? There are other ways to check if you actually have 5G, but I don't remember the apps, you can look into them. As I've said, I had the 5G icon, but the connection was 4G in fact. When I changed the rom, it showed correctly, as in 4G only.

Thanks for the reply. I actually did a speed test while on CN rom, I hit 400mbps so I definitely had 5G service. On my first post I provided a link that shows both CN and Global version of MI 11 support all 5G bands used in my country (Greece).
This is a software issue for sure, I am just not sure what causes it.
Update :
Flashing V12.0.22.0.RKBCNXM CN ROM restores 5G connectivity. It works fine on CN ROM
5G is not working under any other ROM.
Any help would be very much appreciated
I've just purchased Xiaomi mi 11 cn version was looking to flash global ROM but came across your thread.
Is it relatively easy to flash global and back to cn need be?
Thanks
have you tried 5G with the global rom?

Yes indeed, I did try. Unfortunately it only works under the CN ROM.
This is really frustrating as I dont like the chinese ROM and on top of that I can no longer pass the safetynet test because I unlocked my bootloader.

Have you managed to sort out the 5G issue? No one else mentioned this.
How did you get global version onto CN device? When i tried it says this MIUI version can't be installed on this device
you have to unlock bootloader first, and wait 7 days

Miflash locked the bootloader after flashing EU ROM for some reason. Once I unlocked bootloader again it worked.

I have not solved the problem, I am currently using the CN Rom to get around it but I hate the experience and safetynet fails so I cant use Netflix.
I have seen a few others report this on MI Forums but not many as you say. i doubt any developer will help me.

You wanna say that 5g doesn't work on xiaomi.eu rom despite it derives from CN? Or you didn't try it?

That is correct, I tried both the stable verson and the 12.5 beta version. 5G is not working for me on either one

Another question: Is there anyone who happen to get Google Pay (passed safetynet) on CN rom with unlocked bootloader and magisk? I tried all 3 methods and failed (never get even over basic integrity).
