The USB cable I got with Redmi Note 10 Pro is supporting only Charging only (no data transfer). I replaced the unit but same case. Does anybody else also have the same issue?
P.S. I tried another cable came with Redmi note 9 pro and it is working fine. So, It is like Xiaomi is is providing only charging cable with Redmi note 10 pro (Weird)?

I tried to connect my note 10 pro to my pc and i can transfer files but the MiPcSuite doesn't recognise the phone. "Connect your device via USB". Tried file transfer, media and even usb debugging mode. Could it be the cable?

I bought the Tronsmart Data Cables USB-C to USB-A knowing the cable that came with the box was only a charging cable. But still my computer won't recognize my Mi 5 64Gb. Any thoughts on this? Thanks in advance.
P.S. I have also installed the MI PC Suite. Still failing.

MiSuite is useless for now, as this thing doesn't support Android 6.
Just connect the phone with a cable to the Computer. I use the Xiaomi Mi4c cable, the original mi 5 is still in the box but both work to transfer data!
All you have to do is:
-Connect the phone to the pc with Usb C to A
-Change the connection mode from "Use USB for Charging only" to "Use USB for Transfer files (MTP)"
Uh and could you please explain the difference between a USB C to USB A charging cable and a USB C to USB A data-transfer cable? The more details you add the better. I am specially curious about the wires inside of the cable, like the difference between a charging and data cable, by the means of wire connection. (I have never heard of such a thing.)
I have tried doing that but it seems Windows is not installing the drivers for Mi 5 thus getting a "device could not be recognized.
Working great now. Had to change USB ports and used the ones at the rear of my desktop. Thanks!

mine has the same problem with you..
when connected Mi 5 to PC, Mi 5 is not displaying "Charging Only" or "MTP" Option. My PC (Win 7) says "Device is not Recognized".
I've tried uninstalling Mi PC Suite and another ADB program, and changing usb port, the problem is stills..
How do you fix it?
I had the same problem. But changing to a different USB-port on my computer solved it. Check if you have any native USB3 ports on your mobo.
I had the same issue on my Win8 computer (usb2 plugs only) . But it connected perfect on my wife's win7 computer (usb3 plugs)
I finished getting it connected by validating USB debug and waiting very long for driver installation.
USB3 versus USB2 , why not.
Its Not USB2 vs USB3 as I am getting it connected on my Laptop with only USB2 ports but Can't connect on my PC with USB2/USB3 ports while my S7 connects perfectly. I dunno why this is happening and still seeking solution. PTP mode and USB tethering mode works fine though. Just MTP mode connection gets the Yellow triangle and device listing under other devices in my windows device manager.
Install the software driver of the pc and connect as mtp
Dont work anything
I change it to MTP but it comes back by itself to charging mode wtf
Go to device manager after connecting usb to phone
In portable devices, you will find your device along with a caution sign
Double click on your device
Go to driver tab
Then click on update driver
Then click on "Browse my computer..."
Then click on "Let me pick..."
Select MTP USB Device
Install this driver and then your phone will be detected by your computer
(1) Go to C:\Windows\INF
(2) Type "wpdmtp.inf" in search bar provided to the right of the address bar in Windows 10.
(3) Once you found it, just right click on it and select install. It will take a very few seconds.
(4) Connect your device to the pc.

Hello...
My Note 5 Keeps Disconnecting & Connecting rapidly Via USB Cable? I have tried to seek solutions by disabling power management in USB Control but to no avail. Does anyone ever have this same issue & share how to fix this? Thanks in advance
Ihad this problem before. And i found that the problem caused by the cable itself . The note 5 cable is so thin and as you moving it , it will disconnect. I tried to connect my note 5 with old s5 cable . (Thicker one ) and the problem never appear again . Hope that help .
I agree, I had the same problem and found out it was the USB cable itself..

Hi,
Firstly, i agree with other posters that it could be Usb cable. However in my case with my old Note 4 I had similar issues with connecting /disconnecting.. rapidly (same as you stated in your post)
I found in my case it was the Note 4 fast charger plug (Not cable.)
If i changed the fast charger plug it would stop disconnecting /connecting. In fact it made a loud
noise /sound in the process that drew my attention as to what was happening. (the phone was making the connection /disconnection noise)
If i changed the charger with my old Note device's charger/ plug it would work correctly. Also if i change
Note 4 fast charger with my Note5 fast charger it would also work correctly.
Good luck
Well...it's getting quite weird actually. Yes i think the problem is actually from my USB cable here, it used to be fine but problems only arose after i upgraded my PC OS from 8.1 to Windows 10 and Note 5 firmware to Marshmallow at the same interval. In my case the charging process with its fast charger adaptor works fine, but not with the data transfer when connected to PC. Since i only have other USB cable from Samsung Tab S, thus what i can conclude is that by using said USB cable, connection to PC was more stable but still sporadically undetected or stopped during data transfer here. And it did not support fast charging despite plugged to Note 5 fast charger adaptor. I suppose not all USB cables support fast charging at all. And there are reports indicating several USB problems conflicting with windows 10 as well. Meanwhile i am still trying to figure this out, i'll keep updated when new progress comes up ok. Thanks for all your attention & inputs, really appreciate it here.
Just bought a new USB data cable for Samsung Note 4, the cable is indeed thicker. Conclusively yes the culprit was the USB cable as no said problems occur anymore while using new cable here.
I've noticed on my pixel 3 that my cheap WD USB drive would take longer and longer to mount. After the Android 10 update it would simply crash the stock Files app. So when I got the pixel 4 it was one of the first things I tested as its something I use often.
When I plug it in with the supplied OTG adapter nothing happens for a minute and then a notification saying that it's charging the connected device. If you try and change it to "this device" controls the USB it fails.
Also during my testing I noticed some USB connections would fail. Using a Huawei mate 20 pro USB, it doesn't even register my Chromebook. However if I use the Nintendo switch USB cable, it sees it instantly.
Anyone else facing USB issues?
Not seeing that here, I have a couple Samsung USBC flash drives I use, no problem on device.

Yeah flash pendrives seem okay but HDD self powered platter drives don't work. Tried my dad's identical one and it also won't read.
Huawei mate 20 pro USB to USB-C didn't work when connecting the pixel 4 to a Chromebook.
Hello, I have a problem with the Mi 9T Pro, it suddenly stopped being detected by any computer. There is no sound in windows characteristic for connecting the device. It is also not detected in Fastboot and TWRP. Charges normally. I checked on several computers and cables, to no avail. What could happen?
Use a usb extension cable or a usb hub, had this same issue. I now use a usb extension cable works fine. I don't know why the issue occurs but this works for me
I have 11T PRO for about 6 months and today I realised that usb cable only working for charging now. Phone is not being detected in Windows at all. Neither when i enter fastboot. I was playing with DSU yesterday and tried to run factory GSI. Bootloader was locked. It was entering fastboot instead going into GSI. I have no idea what could happen.... Any clues?? Factory reset did not help. I am unable to flash firmware or copy any files from the phone by cable.
Maybe give this a shot? I've used to use it when my pc does not recognized my phone in fastboot.
Gave the phone to my mom, she does not have internet or PC. Back to Samsung.
Pichulec, thanks to you I discovered that it is the cable that does not connect my Xiaomi 11T to the computer. I replaced the cable with another one and immediately the smartphone was recognized
Like you, I am also disappointed with Xiaomi because you don't equip an expensive phone with a stupid cable that is only good for charging

No problem with the original cable, do not generalize.
