How can I increase my ROG phone 3's peak brightness from 475 nits to 727 nits?
What I can find on the internet is it's achievable in MAX AUTO MODE.
But I can't figure out what MAX AUTO MODE is.....
If anyone can help, I'd be much grateful
Thanks
Max auto mode for brightness is where you turn on "adaptive brightness" option under Display settings - the brightness will then automatically adjust based on ambient lighting conditions . For e.g. in bright outdoor sunlight, brightness under Adaptive Brightness On settings may hit 700+ nits.
Manually (= Adaptive Brightness Off) the brightness may be maximum @ 400+ nits, when you slide the brightness slider to full.
Some custom kernels may give you option of adjusting the brightness manually to below & above the stock default levels; e. g. manually ramping up to 700+ nits or so.

I have enabled Screen dimmer as well. Locked GPU frequency to the lowest. After all these is it feasible to use Adaptive brightness over manual brightness if I want to save battery ? Or it is not going to make any difference at all.
My previous phone was J7, J7 have a option for MAX brightness called Outdoor Mod, Now How I can Enable Outdoor Mod in Note 8? Yes I want to get Maximum Brightness.
Setting autobrightness on, gives you the maximum possible brightness under direct light conditions, outdoor sunny conditions
@ winol, not work.
Dr Ketan has released an app to enable full brightness (root only)

Try turning on Hi Performance mode & set the increase brightness setting to max (10%). Works for me without HP mode though. IIRC when max brightness turns on under direct sunlight it only lasts for 15 mins.
I've seen a lot of talk about adaptive brightness turning itself off but my problem is the opposite, it won't go off. When I go outside it's almost impossible to see the screen because it's adjusting when I have adaptive brightness turned off. I like a very bright screen and keep my brightness set the to the max but it refuses to stay that bright outside. And for what it's worth it always shows that brightness at max but again you can tell it's adjusted on its own. Any ideas?
Has anyone had this problem and found a fix?
I've manually set the brightness of my Zenfone 8 to about 90%. Occasionally when I open the phone it has been reset to a very low value and is difficult to see.
Adaptive brightness is off. Low brightness DC dimming is off. Night light is off,
Hello again.
Does anyone else find that the maximum brightness of the screen tends to dim from a "normal" maximum heat to an overexposed one? It happens that I am using my mobile very frequently on the street and despite having the brightness at maximum, the screen is usually dark. But from time to time as the Operating System detects that there is a lot of sunlight and increases the brightness much more (that's precisely what I'm looking for, use that maximum brightness manually, not automatically). I can't find a way to adjust that brightness value, I thought "Dark Aware" would help me but nothing to do with it. Any way to turn up that brightness?
