Camera Recording Problems - Redmi 9 / Poco M2 Questions & Answers

I'll just be direct, I've so far tried a couple of custom ROMs for this phone (NezukoOS, TenX, both android versions of Pixel Experience, RevengeOS) and in none of them has video recording worked for me. So what I wanna ask is this: Has anyone else encountered this problem? If so have you solved it? And if so, how?

All media lags on phone, but not in browser

It's strange. I'm a frequent flasher of all the phones I have ever had and the Mi Mix is no different. I like flashing and customize it to what I want. However, I came over a strange problem. Going from AICP -> Epic Rom -> (here is where I detected the problem) Resurrection Remix -> Lineage OS and flashing kernels, it doesn't seem possible to play any media files what so ever. I downloaded a random MP3 file to the phone and it lags from 0:00 - 0:01 without playing any audio. The same goes for videos on Facebook and YouTube (not in browser, but in app). I've come across this problem one time earlier, but didn't manage to figure out what it was.
Does anyone have any clue on what this can be or how to fix it?

Go back to Epic rom its the smoothest from what I used, gets the most updates, and has the least amount of bugs.

Seen some of bug reports about that issue in RR thread and so on. Just pick whatever you were comfortable with and flash it unless your issue gets confirmed by the RR dev and to gets fixed(..if that issue still remaining).

The weird thing is that this occurred even after having done a complete wipe on the phone.
Solution to it: However, flashing magisk + Dolby Audio Lib fixed the issue on RR (it worked on Epic).

Hey. I am having the same issue. Please can you explain this to me "flashing magisk + Dolby Audio Lib". I dont know wha it means.
I am new to custom roms. I recently installed LineageOS 14.1 to my Xiaomi Mi 5S.
Tahnks to hsss1231
Solution:
I found a way to solve it.
1. root mi 5s
2. download 'buildprop' from play store
3. Probably the first 'audio.deep_buffer.media' in 'AUDIO' is 'True'
4. Change 'True' to 'False'
then the problem is solved.
I am on the latest xiaomi eu rom(Nougat Beta Rom).No Problems with Media,no lags nothing.
no matter what rom im on, when i play mobile legend, its always lagging..
Hey everyone this worked perfectly. Thankyou all so much.

Which Dolby audio lib? I have mix 2 and same issue. Though I used the build prop fix and this still occurs just in reverse (ie in the browser not the app).

NO DATA LOSS - NO NEED TO CHANGE ROM - NO NEED FOR ALTERING PROP FILE
You need to have a custom recovery (TWRP etc.)
1. Download the latest firmware (or anyone you like) from the link. https://basketbuild.com/devs/yshalsa...obal/capricorn
2. Flash it using custom recovery. THATS IT!
This does not effect your current rom it only changes some files (as you can guess grom the size of file)

[XT1900-7] No media audio and stuttering video after LineageOS install

Yesterday, I tried to install LineageOS 15.1-nightly, but missed the need for the copy-partion.zip, resulting in an unresponsive phone. With support by people in the LOS IRC channel, I managed to blankflash the phone and redo the install, this time with copy-partition.zip. I decided against rooting or installing GApps, and the phone booted perfectly fine.
Today, after installing some apps, I noticed that media audio will not play (Notifications and ringtones work, tho.) and video playback is extremely sluggish/stuttering, no matter whether it's youtube or a video I recorded myself.
While I didn't find anything similar for the X4, I found threads with similar issues for other phones that pointed towards bad/wrong firmware.
Could this be a lingering results from the blankflash?
If so, how to best fix it? Is there a way to reflash with stock firmware? (I looked at threads on this, but was overwhelmed with the variety of fimware versions and unsure which would be the correct one for my phone.)
As you can probably tell, I'm not terribly well-versed in this, so any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi, i am in the same situation like you right now. No Sound and very low FPS at Sound/Video playback.
First i installed LineageOS15.1 without the copy-partitions.zip.
After a reboot, my device was bricked but with the blankflash.zip i was able to repair my Motox4 and boot into twrp-recovery.
In TWRP I successfully installed the copy-partitions.zip and LineageOS15.1.
LineageOS seems to work really nice EXCEPT of Sound/Video playback. No Sound and very low FPS (Youtube Videos in Stock browser, Recorded Videos, etc.)
I Also tried different LineageOS15.1 and 16.0 versions including the newest LineageOS16.0 (lineage-16.0-20190312-nightly-payton-signed.zip) but the issue still exists.
Maybe someone has a clue what we could try to do Thank you

Buggy Phone Buddies!!! :highfive:
Exact same probleme here.
Moto x4 paython, XT1900-7.
blankflash was needed since the lineageos wiki did not mention the copy-partitions.zip.
Symptoms are: No sound (and very slow progressbar), low FPS for videos.
Right now my phone is garbage.
OK, I have it working now.
The solution was to install a stock android version or android one (I used android one).
After installing stock android like this:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x4/how-to/guide-how-to-flash-official-factory-t3808348
flash lineageos (using copy-partitions.zip again!).

Oh, cool, I will try that!
Which version of the x4 do you have? Also the -7? If so which firmware did you use? (Looking through the dozen pretty cryptic links in that stock firmware page has me worried about picking the wrong one.)
I don't think that failure of flashing copy-partitions has that result. I haven't flashed copy partitions since returning to stock and applying ROMs after that... and my flashes all come out fine. Perhaps something else is happening. But yes, when in question, always flash back to stock. Then try again.
Ok, Update:
Today I flashed the Stock Rom and tested a random youtube video in chrome: Video playback and Audio worked fine.
I then flashed the current Lineage 16 nightly and tested it again: Same problem. I tried a youtube video, a downloaded mp4 video and a downloaded flac audio file, they all had no audio and the videos were very slow and stuttery. Youtube ****ery happened both in the default browser (I'm guessing Chrome or something?) and a current Firefox Klar I installed.
Additional weirdness: I also tried youtube playback on Torbrowser, where I think it falls back on HTML5 video or something, AND THERE IT WORKS!!!
Audio plays and Video playback is nice and smooth.
I ... don't get it.
Help?!?
I noticed the same thing yesterday with my xt1900-1. Video playback with chrome gas black lines and video appears to stutter. I tried the default browser and it appeared to be better. I'm currently using the 6/12nightly of lineage
Some more testing also showed additional wonkiness: Audio also doesn't work when using making a call.
Which ... makes it a but of a dealbreaker, tbh. :/
I had the same problem after installing LOS16.
New X4 1900-7 (Stock ROM) as described on the Lineage website installed the LOS16
(without "copy-partitions-payton.zip").
After booting, the smartphone was dead
Then as described here the smartphone repaired.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77847374&postcount=44
Then install the "copy-partitions-payton.zip" and install LOS16.
After the boot was no sound when calling or playing videos.
The videos were also played very stuttering.
I then installed the Stock ROM as described here.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x4/how-to/guide-how-to-flash-official-factory-t3808348
I used Stock Rom from here:
https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/payton/official/
Stock ROM: XT1900-7_PAYTON_RETEU_DS_9.0_PPWS29.69-37-2_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip
I did not use the flash-all.sh. I do everything step by step.
After the start of the Stock ROM OS, I checked call and videos.
The function was correct.
Then I reinstalled LOS16.
I proceed exactly as described here. (GAPS installation skipped).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWOBa88eJRs
Now the sound works in calls and videoas or MP3 files.
The smartphone works correctly so far,
only FM radio app does not work.
I have not found a solution yet.

[Help] can't connect to camera error in miui converted A2>6x

hi there i had this issue with my a2 converted to 6x. At first camera was working totally fine.. But after Some miui updates camera was broken. and showing " can't connect to camera" error. then i switched to custom aosp based roms and camera works like a charm there. but again when i switch back to miui rom camera broken.. i tried some gsi but unable to boot them. i also tried flashing again via fastboot or modifying build.prop.. but nothing helps.. It would be very kind if anyone tells me how to fix this issue... I have arb 4 on my device..
I've a REAL Mi 6X... the camera no longer works after some update... I've tried a few Custom ROMs... all the same. Whenever I go back to real MIUI ROM it works fine.
Try flashing the latest Wayne firmware which can be downloaded from Xiaomi Firmware Updater's website.

Need persist.img from latest global rom

Camera doesn't film horizontally. I thought the problem is with auto rotate so turned it on but camera still films vertically. Watched some videos but then the screen would stay horizontal even after exiting the video. Did some googling and found out that the sensors are not working and need to flash persist.img. Thanks in advance to whoever can help.

Well, installing custom roms has its own advantages and disadvantages.
(just like everything in life, so get over it)
Personally, I had to install twrp and a new miui ROM, because the message that miui says while updating "Do not power off your phone" was playing with my mind and i pulled the battery off
Then it blacked out and lit up on a screen saying "The system has been destroyed, hold the power button to shutdown"
Imagine how it could be
Either way a custom ROM is better than the default one.
But i dont recommend you to do it now because there might be an issue with SafetyNet right now if you install a custom ROM
You should do much more research before installing custom roms or rooting
What i recommend is that you wait some time more to get this issue out of the way.
P.S.: If you fail safetynet test you wont have any acces to Netflix and most banking apps

But custom rom can be installed without rooting. So then also safety net will not work ?
Google realeased a new update that checks if the bootloader is unlocked
and the only way to lock it after flashing ROMs is to do a complete format and reinstall the original ROM, it replaces twrp or anything else with the original ROM (miui in our case)
So dont install roms
Okay. Thank you. I just wanted a reason not to install. Now is the end of custom rom I think majority will now no more root or install custom rom because of safety net. Copyright, Security & Privacy are now priority in today's world.
Some other members just found the solution but it supports only Android 10 & 11

Question Severe Lags

For some weeks now my Redmi Note 10 Pro has been facing severe lags. The lags appear regularly about each 5 sec. Then the video and audio or the UI freezes completly for about 1 sec, making it impossible to watch videos or making phone calls. I flashed several roms but it's the same issue everywhere. I even put back the phone in factory condition fashing MIUI and relocking the bootloader, but with no success. At the moment I am coming to the conclusion that I must have damaged my hardware somehow.

Try really clean flash with fw and formating data in TWRP with yes.
For example Los 19.1

Then the video and audio or the UI freezes completly for about 1 sec, making it impossible to watch videos or making phone calls. I flashed several roms but it's the same issue everywhere. I even put back the phone in factory condition fashing MIUI and relocking the bootloader, but with no success. At the moment I am coming to the conclusion that I must have damaged my hardware somehow.

Try stress testing to see where the issue is

I did already many clean flashes. And as mentioned I even put the phone back to factory condition by flashing MIUI with Xiaomi Flash Tool.

Factory reset won't help if fw is broken and and and....
Formating by manually typing yes in TWRP and firmware first then ROM and then formating is mandatory

Good idea! I have trouble installing the apk. It says "App not installed as package conflicts with an existing package." Not sure what package to delete. I have vanilla MIUI on my device. Unrooted and locked bootloader.

I think you misunderstand me. As stated above I went through several ROMs and when reverting back to MIUI I used MIUI Flash Tool. It formates/wipes everything and installs the latest firmware/rom completely new. Besides that I did a "format data" after every custom rom installation.

Hmmm , did you've flashed manually the firmware in front of a custom ROM and the right one? I've destroyed my sweetin with wrong fw and now I've got a new sweet.
If here also your answer is yes then your phone can be repaired perhaps in a Xiaomi store....
Yes. I even tried several different firmwares. In the meantime I also did a CPU stress test it shows no problems.

If this is not working too, your phone has a hardware prob....
Is it lagging when you are in airplane mode(WIFI scan issues) ? Or stressing CPU(IT'S not stuck in low frequency) ? Clear data from Gapps?
If this is clear and above steps are still same, as @Laptapper said suspect hardware.
I flashed back to custom ROM as described by @Laptapper. The problem still persists. Also with a downloaded 1080p video and airplane mode on. CPU Stress Tests shows no abnormalities.
Thanks for all the good ideas and the input. I will give this phone up. I probably screwed the hardware. Anyhow it was a nice time with this phone, the great community and custom rom support.
