I have the sm-t713 variant. Security update of August 2017.
Does Samsung send out regular updates for these Tabs?
I'm coming from a Nexus 7 with an Oreo ROM and was spoiled with monthly updates. TIA.

I came to this site looking to security updates, too. My Galaxy Tab S2 (wi-fi) , Android version 7.0, shows Android security patch level: April 1, 2017. I have tried "Download updates manually" and it says it is up to date. Is there a way to force a newer security update? Do I have to root and install a custom ROM to get this device secure?
Well, the LineageOS builds are up to date in Security Update matters... ^^

I have the 2016 S2 8.0 but my patch level is August 2017. Since the security patches are now at least 6 months behind, I have a feeling we won't be seeing any more. Is yours the 2015 version? Maybe that's why it's even further behind than mine. I will probably flash LineageOS 15.1 at some point although I don't need its features.
BTW, you don't have to root to flash a custom ROM. Just flash TWRP with Odin and then flash a new ROM and Gapps with TWRP. Rooting is optional on LineageOS.

One more question if I may? After installing LineageOS or other custom ROMS, will they get the regular monthly security patches?

LineageOS generally has weekly updates so every 4 weeks or so, the security patch gets updated (as long as the developer maintains the ROM.) Some of the less popular ROMs may not see updates as regularly.
Right now we are @ 05.01.18 as patch level, next one will follow soon
EDIT: Like... now: @ 05.02.18
Somebody please suggest something. It's February 2018 and I'm still running B320 firmware with July 2017 security patch. My device is a HUAWEI P9 EVA-L09.
This firmware has also greatly reduced battery life and has a big camera bug, camera crashed on enabling RAW.
Hello,
I have the inofficial lineage OS 14.1 installed on my HTC One Mini 2. This version was developed and published by nightcore500 in this forum.
This LineageOS version was last updated in July 18. Will further updates follow or is Lineage 14.1 outdated already which might be a considerable security risk?
If no further updates will follow what do you recommend - change to a newer widespread device for which newer LineageOS versions (15.1 or 16.x) are published and an extended release of updates is more likely?
Thank you for some hints and advice.
I've been digging around everywhere searching for official firmware for XT1900-7 retail version, but i had no success. After soft bricking and saving my device a couple of times with official firmwares provided in ROM's section i went back to LOS 15.1 (8.1) 5 November 2018 Security patch again. How and where can i find official firmware for XT1900-7 retail version coming from LOS 15.1 (8.1) 5 November 2018 Security patch?
Note: Its actually MicroG version of LOS 15.1.
Hi,
I have a VKY-L29 and it's not recieved any software updates since 2019 (the may 2020 update didn't apply for the DualSIM model obviously).
I've been diggin' around to find if there is a lineageOS ROM for the P10 series, but obviously there is no upgrade path yet. Does anybody know why and whether I overlooked something?
No never . Why? you never can Unlock Bootloader on Huawei Devices. You never can get Kernel Sources for writing Customroms. ok Since P10 Plus or 2018 is finish ever for Custom Roms and Kernels for Huwei Phones.
