Best Oreo 8.1 (Treble/GSI) ROM? Compatible kernel? - Nokia 8 Questions & Answers

I'm planning to get a Nokia 8 that I'm getting really cheap. I, however, need an Oreo 8.1 custom ROM for certain compatibility reasons (LineageOS, RR, AEX, etc) that works with the least amount of bugs on the phone, now that Treble is available on the phone. Without Treble is alright too, but I can't seem to find those kinds of ROMs.
Please let me know ASAP, it's urgent.
Thanks in advance.

Mi5 ROM comparison

Hello,
I've been on xiaomi.eu's global 8.5 ROM for a while and I've been looking here for a new rom that is not MIUI, but there are so many of them.
So, I write this post to know which of them is better than the others, or at least know the differences between them: CM, Lineage OS, RR, Paranoid Android, Slim7, etc.
Are all this roms working ok on this phone? Do they have bugs?
Thanks

CM has been discontinued, but has been succeeded by LineageOS. This seems to be the most common ROM for this phone.
RR and Paranoid Android offer extra features that LineageOS does not, mostly related to customization. You can read the first forum post for each one to see what to expact.
Slim7 is designed to be the lightest ROM with the least amount of added features, optimized for speed and low memory usage.
No ROM is necessarily "better" than the other - it is all a matter of personal opinion and what you're looking for. I personally prefer Lineage because it's updated weekly, but you might opt for something with more features.
As to which ROMs work/have bugs: again, read the first (or second) forum post for the specific ROM, and it will state whether or not there are bugs to be expected. Since this phone has been out for a while, most ROMs have been tweaked to work well with the phone at this point, but it's always helpful to read through to see what to expect.

Request to bring Pixel Experience for Moto X4

Retail users have been stuck on 8.0 from more than 8 months for now and me too like some people here do not mind 8.1 if we are going to get Pie.. But there are only a handful of roms available for such a good device. Still RR, CarbonOS are in works but no Pixel Experience? I've read that Pixel Experience is soo close to Pixel devices that even the apps like Digital Well-being which is a Made by Google device exclusive is available for them. I do not know how to get or contact them for bringing the ROM to this device.. can the people working on 9.0 GSI work on this!? I really would love that ROM on this device.. pls bring this to attention on anyone who can work on it ??

The only ROM that's still under development is LineageOS, version 15.1 is official now and we have version 16 under development, you can use this version as a daily drive, SD need some fixes (adoptable storage don't work) and minor fixes to Lineage features, here I'm using Pixel Launcher, I did a custom installation of Super package from OpenGApps to exclude some apps and maintain what I want and the Pixel Launcher.
Digital Well-being is here, I don't remember if it's ROM integrated or from GApps, but it's here.
I think we don't need someone developing especifically for our device because Treble is here, thanks to @erfanoabdi he's working on LineageOS and if some vendor fix is needed, you can ask him.
You can find LineageOS 16 builds here: https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=281597
You can use the tutorial for LineageOS 15.1.

Help to choose the best rom

Hello
Please advise which is the best ROM Android 8.1 or 9.0 at the moment, which has all the features enabled and no bug?
And as OTA is upgradeable, it does not need to be installed through recovery !
Well, one of the reasons that there are many roms, is that different people find different things "best".
Personally, I'm happy running Nitrogen Pie. Still, there are a few reports of bugs on all Pie roms:
- WiFi calling is missing
- encryption doesn't work
- SeLinux is turned off
If you want OTA updates, I think only Lineage has that. That is also a rom with weekly updates, whereas Nitrogen updates when Nitin feels like it, usually once a month. But Lineage has a bit fewer options to tweak things.
Generally, the Nexus 6 roms are all good. Unless you need very specific stuff, I don't think you'll be disappointed no matter what. And even if you are, changing is easy.

What is the best stable and working rom atm

Hi guys. I'm looking for refreshment to my g5s plus. Since I bought it I'm very satisfied with this device. I'm using old ground zero VALIDUS oreo 8.1 rom (version 1.5) and i was totally satisfied with its features. Like every Android, after 6months+ it started lagging sometimes. I've got no time to try every rom.
Can u share your opinion if u tried multiple roms?
From what I've read pie builds are not working perfectly yet, right? Are they any better from 8.1 though? Should I try any?
My main requirement is substratum to be working on the rom.
I'm considering picking latest build of oreo validus if Noone suggest anything.
Btw. My Google maps lost function to show the direction I'm facing(this triangle thing) . Any ideas? Tried basic solutions like reinstalling another versions. Can it be caused by rom itself? (unfortunately I don't remember when I lost that function).
I'm using a unofficial LineageOS ROM (Android Pie) Here's the link if you want to test it out, but yeah there's also This ROM, I tested Oreo, but not Pie

Best custom rom

Hello guys now I have Havoc Os but I notice there have been lots of problems with it so what's the other best custom rom for this phone pixel experience?
PE happens to be the most stable for use as a daily driver. Unless LOS 16 arrives officially.
It's weird that I am replying now but nothing is best. It depends on user needs. BTW you can try ROMs like Lineage or You can go with some GSI's
AND today what would be the best custom ROM? I would like an effective OTA with a minimum of bugs.
