Question Changin rom - Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra

Hello guys, I just got the ultra, the model is the G998B/DS.
Im from Portugal, and i think i have the german variant. I have two questions.
1- How can i confirm that it is the german one? In the app Phone Info, doesnt say anything in the country part.
2- Since it is not the portuguese one, can i flash the Portuguese rom? (this rom doesnt even say galaxy s21 ultra when turning on. And say "Hallo" when turning on and se you later in german when turning off

First you can check the CSC in About phone - Software information - Service provider software version.
Yes, S21 only mentions Samsung Galaxy in the boot animation.
Mine also came with a branded ROM, but decided it's easier for me to change the CSC with Samkey, than to flash a ROM with another CSC.

How do you do that? with Samkey.
Never heard of it.
Thank you for the reply

Here goes (adapt to needed CSC. Probably OPT in your case):
go to www.samkey.org and download the SamKEY software and Samsung Drivers packages
install both (duh)
go to ebay and search 'SamKEY Credits' - buy whichever you want. You only need 1 credit for a CSC change, but I bought 2 just in case I ballsed it up...
wait for the details to be delivered. The guy I used was in the US, so didn't get my login details until about 3pm UK time. They will send you a username and password to log in to SamKEY
Open SamKEY and log in using your shiny new password
enable USB debugging through the developers menu (tap build number in software 7 times)
remove all lock screen security (pin, pattern, fingerprint and face)
Remove your simcard(s) from your phone and connect the USB cable
type your desired CSC in the 'CSC' box - for the UK the unlocked and open CSC is BTU
click 'change CSC'
Your phone will reboot at the end and will boot up now carrying the new CSC. It shouldn't wipe your user data and won't invalidate warranty or KNOX.

[Noob](N950FD) Q1-Change Samsung Pay Country ; Q2-Mixed PDA/CSC?

Expecting to received the Note 8 (SM-N950FD) in the next days...
Believe the Phone's Origin country gonna be another country other than Australia (It was listed "Direct Import" by a Australian Retailer) Link FYI
So I'm planning to download the Australian Stock Firmware ready
Just before taking action, would like to ask a few questions:
Q1) To make Samsung Pay works (in Australia), I only need to following this -->POST<-- instead of replacing PDA/SCS? Right
Q1.5) if above is right, is there any need/benefit to replace the firmware to XSA (Australia)?
-->This firmware<--
Q2) Does it work flashing combination of different PDA & CSC under different Country Section of Sammobile.com?
For example using PDA: N950FXXU2BQKG (12/12, it's not listed under XSA) (LINK)with N950FOLN1AQHF (Australian CSC)(LINK) ???
If ull have by default Samsung Pay, there is no actual need for making any change at all... If all works well, then leave it as it is... Unless it does not.... I have it by default on unbranded and unlocked N950F DS... Also OEM unlock is checked from the day 1...

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 SM-N950F/DS 64gb doesn't receive any updates in UK

Hi All, I really need some help. First post. I bought a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 SM-N950F/DualSim from eBay in mint condition for £285 a few months back. Works perfectly. Waited until end of March but no Android 9 One UI update. Realised I hadn't got ANY updates what so ever since I got it. Contacted Samsung and they say because it is from a different region it can't be updated in the UK. I find this extremely unfair. I use a Blackberry Key2 as my main phone and Note 8 as a second phone which I don't always carry. Use it more to surf and watch videos with once I get home.
I have never rooted or Odined or anything else before so am not too excited about any of that stuff. I just need the simplest tutorial there is to get my phone to update and to continue to update if that is possible. I am currently on Android Oreo 8.0 and security patch August 2018!
Thanks in advance for your help.
P.S I have no idea which region it's from but the serial number is R58J944Z7HT

Dial *#1234# in phone dialer. Look at the CSC line and look for "OXM" in the line eg. N950F"OXM"5CSA2. If you see that then:
Read page 1:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-8/how-to/official-stock-firmware-update-odin-t3677072
To find your CSC:
You can go to system settings/ about phone/software information/ service providers SW ver. (Look for something like this example TPA/TPA/XEU , should be last line in that section. Yours might be different but it should be in this format CSC/CSC/CSC .)
2nd spot TPA is the your carrier CSC (set by your sim card.)
3rd Spot XEU is where your phone is from.
So look at the second spot for your CSC code.
So know you have the:
Model of note 8 : SM-N950F or SM-N950F/DS (doesn't matter firmware is for both phones.)
The multi-CSC firmware OXM
And your CSC code.
Now you have 3 choices:
1) Connect phone to PC and use smart switch to update phone (if there is one for your csc). This will keep data intacted!
2) You can use samfirm.exe on PC to download the firmware for your model phone and CSC and use the latest Odin to update.
Use "Home-CSC" file to keep data intacted!
Warning DO NOT use "csc" file this DELETE DATA! (Or you
want to delete data.)
3) Use samfirm.exe to download the firmware for any CSC that's in that multi-CSC OXM that's listed in that thread I posted and latest Odin.
Use "Home-CSC" file to keep data intacted! This will keep
your CSC the same!
Warning DO NOT use "csc" file this DELETE DATA! (Or you
want to delete data.)
Now you might need to Odin everytime the new update or you might be lucky and you'll get the OTA.
I have the N950F in Canada and I get OTA update here, maybe because my 3 csc code is XEU/XEU/XEU(your will be different! )(because the multi-CSC oxm doesn't support my carrier csc so it stays default XEU/XEU/XEU. )
Your case maybe different so I would get used to using Samfirm.exe and Odin to update your phone.
Or you can always wait and see if you get the OTA, your choice!
If you don't have the OXM or do you can go to
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-note8/SM-N950F/
To look what country the CSC belongs to (CSC in this case is the 3rd spot in this eg. XEU/XEU/XEU)
Eg XEU is UK/Ireland
XSG is United Arab Emirates
Hi,
I had exactly the same issue; bought a Note 8 on ebay last year (also in mint condition) - it's a Dual SIM model also. But mine had not had a security update since March 2018. Like you I contacted Samsung support and was told that there isn't anything they can do. One suggestion was to send the phone to its country of origin so that it can pick up security updates OTA - not really an option for me...
I bit the bullet today and followed the procedure set out by BluePhnx. The whole process took about 1 hour. I was taking my time because I have never attempted anything similar before. Everything worked great and I now have Android Pie with Samsung One UI More importantly the security version is March 2019. All my apps and data are intact and S-Pen continues to work great.
Thanks BluePhnx for the guide.
Best,
TB

Hello, I am trying to switch from an Orange operator rom to a Samsung XEF rom, the problem is that when I flash everything goes normally but the rom does not flash and remains in Orange rom. Yet I have no error message.
For some reason I can't get it to detect my phone after plugging it in. Odd.

Yes. Windows is supposed to automatically install the drivers when you plug in your phone.
You may also install them by installing Smart Switch for PC.
give me custom rom first, then will worry how to flash it
Is there any reason (that we know of) why flashing an AT&T device to the unlocked ROM wouldn't work this year as it has in years past?

Hello, I'm trying to switch from the Orange operator to the Samsung XEF rom ROM, the problem is that when I blink, everything goes normally, but the ROM doesn't blink and stays in the Orange rom. I need to make a mistake.

I have the same problem I have orx and I would like xez, dbt multicsc rom via Odin didn't help either
edit:
Problem solved, via Samkey application, S21 5G is already supported
For people who can't switch between csc in the same mult csc pack. OXM multi csc pack contains all the european generic and network branded firmware (csc) so if You are at SFR (part of OXM multi pack), and flash it with BTU (part of OXM multi pack) the SFR will stay. What you need to do is to flash it with different multi csc pack (just see what packs are available for your model), then flash it back with OXM multi pack, and it should switch to some generic csc, then if you instert your sim card it should ask you if you want to customize your phone to the inserted sim card and it will change your csc to the one you want.
EDIT. It works with other models as well, usually there is a domain language in each multi csc pack, and for flagship models it's usually DBT or BTU, for cheaper phones it's usually a langauge where the phone sells the most so for some A series models it's either ROM or XEO or XCZ

Thanks for that!
I am from Brazil and wanted to install my regional stock ROM but everytime I did it, it went back to my carrier's ROM.
What I did in this case was installing an OXM csc (the german DBT) and then trying again with my stock regional ROM (ZTO).
Removed my SIM card and didn't connect to wifi untill I was sure the stock ROM sticked to the phone.
PS: If anyone reading wants a rom from the OXM multipack and is having troubles, try using the Brazilian ZTO stock rom and then go back to yours.

That's true. ZTO is part of a multi csc pack OWO, so it will work for OXM. Good job mate
My S21 Ultra 5G from AT&T is somehow not getting updates and seems to be stuck on ATLF firmware with the December 1, 2020 security patch. Called AT&T...they blamed Samsung and sent me to Samsung. Samsung blamed AT&T and wants me to travel 50 miles away to a Ubreakifix store (official Samsung repair center). Today I called again and AT&T had me factory reset the phone with the result being the same - - no update - software is up to date.
Frija seems to be downloading the newest AUC8 firmware when I put in the model of SM-G998U with ther correct US code which I hope is the AT&T rom.
Is the firmware from Frija safe?

hi there
I have done this recently, perhaps with a slight fail on my sight, since i updated to the latest OXM pack, since i wanted to switch to DBT from DTM (german telekom) without reading this thread and your post first. So my phone didn't switch from DTM to DBT. until yesterday i had to wait for the updated security patch for OWO pack to switch. So all went fine and i switched from DTM OXM to OWO and back to OXM again.
But basically here starts my problem (if it is a problem, not sure yet):
My phone switched not to DBT, instead it went to EUX, which i guess is the generic code for complete EU countries? i am not sure, since i couldn't find the sales code or CSC for this anywhere tbh. i have two SIM prepaid SIM cards from a third party o2 contractor, so normally (i have done it on my Note 10 plus), like you mentioned, it should ask you to customize your phone and switch to DBT, but for me it simply doesn't ask or go to DBT at all. It simply keeps the EUX. Which i would not have a problem with, when i get regular updates with it like i would on DBT.
If anyone could give me a hint how to change to DBT or what i did wrong, i would appreciate the help. If EUX is fine for getting updates, i am also fine with that, if someone can confirm this. on OWO the software updater said please contact a samsung service center, since i have german SIMs in the phone, but with OXM package and CSC on EUX currently it just says "software is up to date" so it can connect to the update servers if that helps.
A short pm would be appreciated or maybe some help from an experienced user (more than me lol) via telegram as well.
Cheers
Mike
Oy, when I try to run frija, it tells me I need to have Visual c++ 2008 installed?!
EDIT: Finally found the download for it, but Frija doesn't seem to have firmware for the S21+
I was working with someone to find a way to remove Retail Mode from our S21 (SM-G991U1 XAA), and when using Odin to flash, we accidentally used the same firmware BL file for every section of the install. Now the phone is stuck in download mode, and we can't find a firmware download with replacement AP or CP files. Only a single BL .md5 file, or a set of files that don't seem to fix the problem. I found a link here on the forums to what appears to be exactly what we need, but it takes hours to download for some reason, and then fails partway through each time. Always at a different point in the download, too. Sometimes it gets to 2.5GB, other times 3.7GB, but never the whole file. That link is over in this thread:
G991U and G991U1 Firmware Links and Flashing Discussion Here
This was the link I followed:
U1 firmware
Any thoughts? Any help getting pointed in the right direction would be much appreciated. !

Changing Galaxy 3 Region

I know there are guides out there, but I seem to get stuck with all of them.
This one gave me a version of Odin for Mac, but then it turns out you need Heimdall, which only works with "Microsoft Visual C++", which only works on windows.
Download JOdin3 for macOS, Linux, and Windows [Odin for macOS]
Download JOdin3 for macOS X, Linux, and Windows OS - Latest version. JOdin is also known as Samsung Odin for Mac OS and Odin for Linux.

So I tried using a friend's PC and finally got Odin, but that was as far as I got.
This one mentions "pull/push commands" but doesn't explain what they are or how to use them.
CSC Change - Model R845U
Hi guys, I really need some help please. I have the US model R845U LTE and I'd like to change the CSC to ITV (Italy) to get the latest updates as mine is stuck to R845USQU1BTK2. I am following the procedure of Technoproz but I need to be sure...

How to Change your Samsung Galaxy Watch Region! – Roonby
After the updates of Samsung Galaxy Watches with the latest Firmware, there is a bit problem, where users can’t change their region. It is probably a security measure by Samsung. However, if you are interested in messing around your Samsung Galaxy Watches and wanted to change its region...
roonby.com
The watch was purchased in Italy. Apparently blood pressure and EKG are supposed to be available in the EU as of a month or two ago, but I don't see them. Samsung Pay popped up, but it only offers the option to apply for a Samsung card, which it then says "isn't available." No option to add existing cards.
When I first got it, I set the location to France. I tried wiping it and setting to Germany, but once it was set up again, it was clear it was still set to France. I'm guessing this has something to do with my phone recognizing it once connected? I'm open to changing it to any country where all features work, but ideally Germany or the US.
How did you try to choose Germany as the new region? In your case (you were able to choose a region at first use) it should be possible with a factory reset.

Change firmware, delete account?

I want to change the firmware on my S10e to the UK version (as it currently seems to be an overseas variant).
I want to change as little else as possible, so I will flash with the HOME CSC file.
This is the first time I've used Odin, so I have what is probably a very basic question:
When I start Odin it comes up with a pop-up warning "Please be sure to delete your Google account(Samsung account) before downloading...".
Do I need literally need to delete the account, or will it simply ask for the account password at the appropriate time?
No worry about it but when you used csc it'll erase it and after bootup data required to setup your old account
Thanks. With your reassurance I just did it with no errors and everything came back as it was, all apps and data seem to be present and correct. The only strange thing I've noticed is although the build I downloaded said it was BTU, the software version shown under Software Information now has:
SAOMC_SM-G970F_OSM_DBT_12_0006
DBT/XEU,DBT/BOG
From what I could make out, XEU is a UK code and the version on the phone that I've just replaced was linked to a French operator in Morocco, which might explain the BOG; but I have no idea where the DBT is coming from.
ofcourse home csc will not gonna effect on your data
but regular csc will definitely wipe you
and DBT is German
