I have a Galaxy Tab S2 running LIneage 17.1 This tablet has a habit of disconnecting from wifi, even though settings are for it to keep wifi connected. I have to manually turn wifi 'off' and then back on again for it to reconnect. How can I set up a Tasker profile so that, if airplane mode is 'off,' it will detect and automatically reconnect wifi if not connected?

I'm using GT P7300 (3G+Wifi) with ROM stock 3.2 (NO rooted). I used wifi connection at home for few hours with no problem. However, after I woke up my tab from sleep mode, if I wanted to go on using wifi, I always had to reconnect it although I already chose "Never" in "Wi-Fi sleep policy". That means when my tab is in sleep mode, there is no wifi connection anymore so can't push mail or online chatting during sleep mode.
After waking up from sleep mode, I see my tab still connect with the router (still see the wifi name) but the signal bar is in white color (normally it should be blue) and cannot use Internet. I have to reconnect wifi to make it work.
I also have Laptop, Blackberry PlayBook, LG Optimus but none of them get this issue.
Any suggestion? Tkz
Maybe its router security
Next to my galaxy tab we have a Zenithink chinatab which had the same problem. Forum told me this might have to do with your WiFi security.
I took there advice and switched my routers from WPA/WPA2 mode to only WPA2 mode. Never had the problem after that and it was allready like that when I got my P7310 and never had any WiFi issues with it either. Don't know how you configured your router, but maybe you have the same.
Also if you use MAC security, not all routers are as forgiving. So try turning that off to see if it makes any difference.
So I'm a big Tasker user and I use a 7" Android Tablet in my car as my "infotainment system." I have a Tasker profile that when connected to my Car's Bluetooth, turns on Wifi Hotspot and upon disconnection, turns off Wifi hotspot. I noticed that HotSpot was turning on without a problem, but not turning off.
I also have a Widget Button to toggle WiFi Hotspot on/off. Again, it will turn it on, but it doesn't turn it off. As a test, I also used the app Llama and added an action to turn Wifi Hotspot on and another to turn it off. Again, it was able to turn it on with no problem, but when trying to execute the "off" it gave me the error message "WiFiAccessPoint may not be supported by your phone."
This is really annoying since the only other way to turn it off is to go into phone settings, then More, then Wifi Hotspot, then untick "Hotspot" to turn it off.
Besides wondering if this is working on anyone else's phone, I'm wondering if anyone knows where to write or post such bugs for the Moto programmers to see...
FYI - So I found another bug related to this same issue. Besides 3rd Party Apps (Tasker, Widgetsoid, Llam, basically any app that toggles settings) not being able to turn WiFi off, IF they are used to turn it on then turning it off inside settings will not automatically turn Wifi back on as it should.
If you turn HotSpot on via the Moto HotSpot settings then turning it off will automatically cause wifi to turn back on.
Hoping Moto fixes this issue and allows full toggling of HotSpot via 3rd Party apps as this is really killing my automated in-car hotspot.
My Gear Live auto-turns off WIFI when I turn off bluetooth on my phone. Does anyone experience this? When I select "Re-enable WIFI" the WIFI turns on, but auto turns off again. No WIFI problems when I turn on both bluetooth and wifi on my phone.
Edit: I discovered restarting the watch is the only way to keep WIFI connected when this happens. Touching "Re-enable WIFI" does nothing.

Honestly this is the first time I see this option screen. And I use wifi quite often. Try resetting your watch and see if that helps.

Hi all, I have an annoying issue with my HTC m9. When I come home sometimes it will not connect to my wifi router until I restart the phone. I have tried turning wifi on and off, turning airplane mode on and off, and still no go. Only when I reboot can I connect to the router.
Tried DHCP and static same issue.
Both my wife and I have the same problem: when we are away from home, and thus no WiFi reception, WiFi turns itself off. So when we come home we have to turn it on manually.
Both on miui 12.5 and not changed any WiFi settings. I've checked WiFi assistant and “turn on WiFi automatically" is turned off.
Any clues?
