Share your Glasswares - Glass Q&A

I recently purchased an old Glass XE-C.
Unfortunately, the MyGlass software has been discontinued and cannot be used anymore. Unable to download Glasswares from it, these regrettable resources have disappeared forever.
If you have any Glasswares that have been installed from it, please share them.
Maybe an accident (brick or factory reset), it will no longer exist.

Using Google Glass in 2020
After waiting ~7 years, I decided to check eBay again and finally found Google Glass bidding at ~$200. While I missed one of the auctions…

Well your average thief might just scratch their head and give up on the phone but if they know someone who knows about android, such as one of many of the forum members here, they still get your phone. All they have to do is flash it back to stock.
The only thing these type of apps are good for, imo, is protecting your personal data. Even then there is no protection for the data on the sd card.
Desire HD has built in anti theft service. Just go to htcsense.com and register. It is really complicated to remove this from phone
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Have you ever tried htcsense.com? the locate system hardly works and the site is often down. Theft Aware works clean.
hint: to uninstall it, you first need to remove the device admin setting of theft aware in your phone settings. then it's just like any other app to uninstall

For everyone who knows a bit about the phone it would be child's play to remove the protection.
but if you can password protect the bootloader/recovery it is safe...
Anyway the mainstream user doesn't know about theft aware.
Most of the "thiefs" or lucky ones would do a hard reset.
And if you have a rooted phone, theft aware ist still on the phone.
And maybe they put another sim card in the phone and you got the phone number.
10 bucks is ok for a chance to get my 500 bucks mobile phone back.

Well i have been using theft aware for several months now and i think it's great.
I have it integrated in the rom. Every backup on my phone has it.
A normal thief would only reset the phone and then it stays on.
Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
Sounds good. Maybe i give it a try. How long does the trial work ? And what are the differences to the pro version ?
Sent from my Desire HD
the trial is fully functional and works for 7 days.
since I rooted my phone 2 weeks ago I had to wipe it and could test the hard reset proof feature afterwards. it IS impressive.
on rooted phones you can block the adb access since the latest version.
Yesterday we started a global -70% price promotion for "Theft Aware" http://www.theftaware.com

This is really Good. I bought it and it works like a charm. I got Theft Aware, Smi Card Checker, Cerberus all together for added protection. I feel it is worth it when you spend so much for a Phone. Spending a mere 3% of the cost of your phone for these is definitely worth it.

I do not know why people answer post without any knowledge. Child play to remove it?
If you lock phone setting – the app cannot be installed
If the phone is root – hard reset does not remove the app, USB debug is unable, etc..
Of course, if you hack the password code, are able to unroot the phone, flash a stock rom, etc... you will remove this app. Childish stuff
I do not have any connection with this app, I am just considering purchasing a security app and so far this is my favourite. Theft Aware may be not perfect but please tell me if you find any better (and cheaper).

Nexus 6 strange lock ?

Hello everyone,
First of i want to mention that it`s my first experience with Nexus device after so many years so don`t blame me
well my friend bought Nexus 6 and it was all good (about hours) then he did factory reset and bad things just started... he was unable to complete setup, he was writing e-mail and pass and it was going back to WiFi select, also he could not skip WiFi select. someone said Google block but i never heard of it (i have z2 which has custom oem os so i don`t think it`s present there). well so how to get rid of that? he also can`t unlock boot because of DEV OPTION check and so on -_-
thanks in advanced

Any ways to remove the ads with the build version V6.6?

Please let me know if you guys know a ways to remove the ads!
No way that we know of. You could return it for another one and NOT let it connect to wifi or put in a sim until after you have relashed it. All phones are shipping with 6.1, so it was your mistake to let it update.

Things just got more complicated because Amazon has stopped selling the phone! We will have to wait and see what happens next. If it were me, I would contact them right away and find out if a replacement is available still.

So, I'm an app developer and looked into this lately. The latest updates have hardened the lockscreen ads against removal - that includes against doing the above where it only causes a minimized ad on the lockscreen until reboot VS a fullscreen one unless there's a notification available.
(There's at least one way I didn't test such as reverting to the original shipped version of the amazon apps which could maybe work, idk.)
So the above can also be done using an app that displays a non-dismissable notification and starts on boot so that there's no longer any attention needed. Again, this just forces no fullscreen ads.
A newly found Linux flaw, which may work on the device as someone seems to have it working on android, looks like it could be used to gain access needed to completely remove the ads, but I don't really care to look into it and you do so at your own risk.
And of course as there's custom roms available, they won't have ads as well.
Stuff like lockscreen replacement apps - well I tried one and the amazon ad still appeared - the ad developer should have tested against these anyway. There seems to be better developer access to the lockscreen with android N that could in theory work against the ads, but the device OS isn't android N and I feel they wouldn't update it regardless if the ads were easily removed as that would be counterproductive.
If something isn't correct or becomes outdated in this post, just say below.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/r1-hd/how-to/blu-r1-hd-v6-6-dirtycowed-f-amazon-root-t3490882
Now that we can root and unlocked the V6.6 version, anyway to remove the ads?
Why not just install the non-Amazon version of the rom V12 using Colton's easy method, and then update it to V17 using vampire's method. The non-Amazon roms don't have the ads to begin with, so there's nothing that needs removing.

Question Has anyone else been able to solve this (Stuck in bootloader)

Hi,
Hope you're all having a nice day.
I have tried everything that every google search has come up with and I cannot seem to reinstall the original rom.
When I try to use miflash it says partition not found, which is an error I am seeing a lot.
The device does show up on cmd fastboot devices, so hopefully there must be a way to get around this but I have no idea.
I'd appreciate it so much if anyone could offer any help, I'm completely lost.
I'm currently stuck on the bootloader on the first image.
Thanks

Did some googling, and figured that @Laptapper and @jnsson were right. There might be a chance you got swindled. I did some googling and found a few other phones that matched that design in the photo (at least from what is visible). The following is a list of devices with a VERY similar design:
-Honor X40 5G
-Vivo X70 Pro Plus
-Google Pixel 6 Pro
Can't say for certain if these are that phone, but it's worth looking into them just to be sure.
Where did you buy it from?
Thanks so much guys for offering to help!!
I bought it second hand a few years back online in Japan.

Also, I checked my list again, and the only one that it could be of the three is the google pixel 6 or 6 pro. The others were made this year and thus don't fit the criteria, but it was only last year the phone was released so there's a chance it's none of these.

Question FRP Bypass?

I've picked up a tablet from ebay, its the 32BG/3GB version and I've been wracking mmy brain and trying tools. Does anyone know if there is a FRP firmware I can flash with Odin? Shield Alliance is no longer available on the Galaxy store, so if anyone knows an alt, I'll try that too.
I found a guide to make a custom AP file for odin, but I don't see the right files to make the combo file in my firmware files.

Did the eBay ad tell you it was FRP locked? If not I'd send it back. I've yet to hear of a way to bypass FRP lock in late model tablets. The only other option is to ask the seller to furnish legit "proof of purchase" so you can send it to Samsung tech support and have them unlock it.
BTW: The reason that you didn't find the files is that everytime someone finds a way to bypass FRP, Google finds a way to stop it. The whole purpose of FRP is to keep thieves from using the device. If there is a way to circumvent it, it becomes useless.

Yes I've done a lot of research in the last several days regarding this. The seller claimed they don't know if it even worked. After asking them questions they bought the tablet second hand as doesn't have the contact information of the original owner. I still got it quite cheap so its worth replacing the motherboard with a for parts tablet with a good one.
There actually was a well known method for getting around FRP for this model involving using talkback to access chrome and installing shield alliance from the galaxy store. Unfortunately the app has been removed. I've been looking into the combination file method since which seems to still work in theory I might simply need to do some research and find a different firmware dump or do some intuition with the file names. Personally I think it can be done, and even if not I'll just buy a parts unit.

Well good luck. All I know is that I've seen the question on bypassing FRP many, many times and I haven't seen anyone succeed in several years. Just look at the solution you read about. First of all, you don't get the screen it says you will when you factory reset. There is no way to turn on USB debugging. 2nd, all Google would need to do to prevent it from working is to change the file names.

I have yet to see anyone report back at having succeeded with one of these services. There are plenty of ads for the services but how does anyone know which, if any, are legit?
I had exactly the same problem with a Galaxy A32 and was able to find a solution for the FRP.
Its for the A32 but it might work for you as well.
Basically, it uses the samsung account from another phone to restore apps to the hacked one.
Either or, hope it works or gives an idea for a solution.

It definitely worked in the past....but years ago. From what I've read Android 9 was the last time any FRP worked.
Security is so much better now in new Android versions together with updated Google services checks that unless someone on the inside works at a carrier it's just not possible anymore
