hello all, i want to clone my other phone but have issue to restore on twrp 2.8.1.1 from a backup made on twrp 2.8.7.0. both are 910T, and the one with twrp 2.8.1.1 been wiped out for system, cache, dalvik & data. is it true newer twrp version will cause backup not readable on older twrp version ? can i upgrade the 2.8.1.1 to 2.8.7.0 using ODIN without uninstalling 2.8.1.1 first ?
thank you for any help.
I saw there is already a thread about updating with twrp, but I still got questions so…sorry for asking again.
My 3T is on Oxygen OS 4.0.1, and is already rooted with twrp 3.0.3-1 and SuperSU 2.79.
Just now I saw 4.0.2 is out. And I'm not sure how to get it.
I assume I need to download the full zip and put it in storage and [install] it in TWRP, but I have other questions…
Do I need to [wipe] something before flashing? Dalvik or Cache or something like that? I'm not sure about what they actually mean.
Or wipe again after that?
And do I need to flash twrp and SuperSu again in the process? And in what order?
Download the full 4.0.2 ota zip, boot to TWRP, flash full 4.0.2 zip, reboot recovery, then reflash the latest super su in TWRP. This would be considered a dirty flash due to no data being g wiped, so if you're able to backup your current setup, that would be preferred.
I've done the dirty flash as shown above and all is good!
Hello Guys

Hi All,
I am on MIUI 11.0.1 rom and have unlocked bootloader and have got Root as well. I had flashed twrp-3.3.1-2-raphael-mauronofrio recovery initially but I found that it doesn't persist after reboot and stock recovery appears. How can I make it permanent recovery option and when OTA update comes, will it wipe the TWRP recovery as well?
Also, now I have stock recovery with root and if I flash the TWRP again, do I need to format data again? I have installed all the apps and copied data in phone and dont want to lose again..
Please help.. Thanks in advance!
You shoulf flash magisk after recovery
Thanks for the reply.. I did flash magisk after flashing TWRP to root the phone.. But now my recovery is Stock..

Latest magisk zip. No you only have to wipe cache and dalvik after flashing. You won't lose any data
Thx
