Has anyone found a decent solution for the low volume issue when using a headset on mt3g? I've tried all the meltus audio files but the sound ends up way too distorted. Its loud but it sounds like ****. The DSPManager on CM6r3 helps slightly but not enough. All I want is louder max volume when using a headset.

I am using Chromers 4.4 rom with Meltus audio files v2r2 and "headset boost +in call volume 1". I turned off the DSP thing. It made it all distorted.
I hope this helps, I know you said you tried the files.
I don't know if it's ROM related or not but I don't remember having this problem previously. I'll give the settings you mentioned a try though.

Any setting for the DSPManager for G1
Hey guys.
So, going from an iPhone to an Incredible, the Incredible's Media Volume is way too low for my liking.
Is there a hack to increase the Media Volume so it's louder or at least as loud as what iPod's/iPhone's can get?
I've tried VolumeBoost but its still a bit too low
dsp manager?
Download poweramp and set equalizer to "phone speaker (loud)". After that you can increase volume further by raising the master volume in the pre-amp. I assume you want this for playing your music through an auxiliary or headphones in either case you must play your media through poweramp to receive the effect.

That would be why the volume has a low governer on it... so you don't blow the onboard speaker.
Mods please delete, I found the problem it's AudioManager not the system.

If I play a game or even use the music app and then plug in headphones, sometimes the volume levels become locked and I cannot even adjust them with my volume rocker. The only way out is a system restart or to use AudioManager.
Is anyone getting this problem?
I can't even change the sound profile!

Hi, FYL.
Seems that only both of us are audio maniacs here. Couldn't reproduce the bug on MaximusHD/Elegance rom, will try also on stock.
By the way, regarding the crackling issues - try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2257814
I recently zipped Elegance rom from the android development thread with the sound mod - couldn't hear any zapping or crackling with my RC E160 with beats off.
oh well, I've found that for some reason AudioManager messed up. I disabled it and now it's all good. I'll contact them with regard to it. Mods please delete this thread.
As for the crackling well I haven't rooted my phone (yet anyway). I'm more than happy with the sound on my HTX7 at 14/15 of the volume, though maximum volume still gives a tiny bit of crackling (14/15 is louder than the volume on my HOX+ anyway).
Is there a way to boost the volume without Root?
Thanks for any help!
need that too!
First make sure your media volume limiter is off, then go to equalizer and push all frequencies to max, that should give you about 10 dB extra.
Can't promise that it will work but they're is an app called SpeakerBoost that I've installed
..... Seems to work

how do you do that
settings/sounds and vibration/sound quality and effects
actually just go to settings, click on search functions (circle with with line on the bottom, top right corner) and type media volume limiter, or whatever function you're looking for
I try it, but continue with low volume. My previous Note 2 had louder audio.
ok
Just a comment, my 950F does not have a media volume limiter option
Download "Speaker Booster" on the Play Store. Hope this helps
I tried pretty much everything but nothing really actually worked. If you use the SoundAlive profiles or boost the EQ it just limits the two top volume levels from working.
I have now rooted and manually changed the mixer_gains.xml file and it's amazing now. super loud with no distortion at all.
Sadly rooting is really the only way to go. Dunno why Samsung limit the volume so much when the DAC is capable of a far better volume output. It's the one thing that really lets this handset down.

Can you link me the mixer paths you used?
All you need to do is change the values in mixer_gains.xml as per the screenshot. Root only of course.
This is only for the wired headphone volume.
After trying about 5 models of headphones and being ridiculously low volume in all of them (especially in Spotify and YouTube videos), I found a expensive solution, but that has solved the problem withoutroot, i have bought the Jaybird X3, very good quality, very good volume and good insulation, despite being in ear.
I still think that with normal headphones, such as those that come in the box of AKG, Xiaomi Piston 2, Sony STH32, Sony SBH24 or even the great AudioTechnica M40X the volume is ridiculously low on this mobile.
Greetings.
It is ridiculously low, and has been on Samsung mobiles for a while now. Seems they need to protect us from ourselves. sad.
As stated above, root and a simple change to a text file makes one hell of a difference.
Another good solution is an external DAC like the Creative E3. It works well too and no need to root.
Hey, I'm with you all ; the volume of the note 8 is low. Now I tried every GD volume app on the play store and none work. I kept looking and I found one that works: Music Equalizer and Bass Booster by Coocent. This app no **** will increase volume. I swear.

Could you please advice if this would work if you use Bluetooth devices, such as speakers or headphones? I mean it is so annoying that samsung actually achieve year over year to have worst volume... just when you think it couldn't get worst.
I would appreciate if you can let me know!

I followed your tip, but in my 950F, exynos, this app in fact decreases the volume! It may only work with snapdragons

I use this...works great but don't boost over 30-33%!
When my phone is connected via Bluetooth to my car's hands-free kit, some audio could do with being made a little louder.
For example the navigation prompts from Google Maps are plenty loud enough, but some audio-book MP3s played via MD Player and phone call audio could do with being a bit louder.
I have the volume on the Note 8 and the hands-free kit on maximum.
Is there a way I can apply an audio boost when connected to that particular Bluetooth device (or have it controlled via Tasker)?
There seem to be lots of audio boost/control apps in the Playstore, but many seem to allow control of volume for a device without the ability to boost the volume above "normal".
I tried "Precise Volume (+EQ/Booster)", but the boost function didn't seem to make any difference.
If it makes any difference, I'm using Android Auto when connected to the car.
Bump - Anyone?
the only app in the play store that I have found that actually boosts the volume on this phone without being rooted is one called "volume Booster Goodev"
be careful, though, as it can really crank the volume up..
Thanks for that .... had been looking for a volume boost on the headphone out without rooting and this seems to do the job perfectly.
