Custom rom help - Google Pixel 5 Questions & Answers

So I just bought a pixel 5 and absolutely hate android 11. It seems every new version just gets worse and worse. I'm looking for a custom rom that will enable me to change a few simple things most of which were standard on android 9:
-remove zoom on home screen when pulling down the status bar
-move status bar clock to the right side
-eliminate conversations notification group. Put all notifications into a normal pre android 11 grouping
-increase the size of the bottom bezel. Pixel 5 has almost no bezel and I would prefer to customize the screen display size and make the os think the screen is smaller than it actually is
Are there any custom roms that allow these changes? For me the pixel 5 is unbearable right now and other android phones are not an option (way too big)

Space-less grid theme/launcher?

You might be familiar with Grid OS, FusionGarages latest idea that didn't make the market. While that's a more complicated version of the idea, I'd like to see a theme or launcher capable of displaying icons in a perfect grid of squares without any space between the icons. To compensate for inconsistent resolutions, the theme/launcher would need to simply calculate the available space, with or without an outside margin.
The attachment displays a quick concept of this idea. The blueish background represents the wallpaper, the white and black squares represent icons. These icons may be displayed in a variety of ways - glass themed, miui themed, colors based on average color of default icon with the default icon on top (similar to miui), etcetera, but the main feature is the lack of padding between the icons. A pure grid with dimensionless gridlines. I realize an extra row and column could have been added, but nonetheless, it's just a mockup.
There's also the lack of a dock - this may be added somewhere, but not on an edge as that would distort the grid. It needs to be connected seamless and paddingless to the pure grid, with or without an empty row inbetween the dock and the other icons. In the mockup, it may simply be the lowest row of icons, for example. However, a dock would distract from the solidness of the grid as it would only be useful with multiple homescreens, whereas I reckon the theme would work best if the grid is all there is - no distracting slides to different homescreens, overscrolling the necessary margin to the screen edges and distoring the grid on these sides to compensate for resolution, when moving to the new set of icons on a different homescreen. Instead, scrolling (perhaps just vertically), like on Grid OS, could do. In that case, a margin to compensate for screen edges is only optional as well.
Is there such a launcher or similar theme already? Is it something to hope for, for a fellow developer to build upon this idea?
Would really love to see this. Especially since it's different.
Have you tried sslauncher in the play store yet?

[Q] Something with TGP_I9305-N7105Port_XXUFNE3-v19.01

Today I flashed TGP_I9305-N7105Port_XXUFNE3-v19.01.zip, It is very stable, smooth, energy saving effect is also very good. Just some flaws:
1. When calling, the white microphone icon size is too large, do not feel the coordination, hope can be smaller, so as to adapt to the S3 screen;
2. Desktop icon is locked on the fixed grid, cannot move freely£¬I'm not feeling very well.
3. Desktop icons cannot be hidden, all programs can only be placed on the desktop.

What Pixel Android 10 features are missing on Sony's very stock looking Android.

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone could help me narrow down what I would be missing out on with regards to Pixel exclusive Android features.
Of course there are the features like Hold for me which are pretty limited in availability around the world anyway so am not to fussed about that. No Google Camera AI, that's understandable.
I'm thinking about the ability to change quick toggle colours and shapes. The always listening/now playing lockscreen ticker. Ability to highlight any text (OCR) in the task switcher. Any other AI features?
Any thoughts?
Please and thanks!
G.
You actually can change highlight color and icon shape. There's a thread on it here.

Question Problem displaying custom icons in the AOD

Hi everyone! I have Android 12 with the latest version (C.41) and the problem was already there with the old version of Android 12. I have installed a custom icon pack and the icons present in the AOD are sometimes not fully displayed but it shows only one corner of the icon, as if they were cut to 1/4. With stock icons, on the other hand, no problem. Anyone experiencing the same bug? Of course I also tried other icon packs.
Hey there. Yep, it's not just you! When I wrote to Oppo (Japan, where I am) about this, they seemed perplexed and not familiar with the issue. Anyway, it can be "fixed"... by reverting to default icons. Seems that pretty much any custom pack will do what you are saying (and, you may notice: not all the time, right? Kind of random. SOmetimes, your custom icons wil show, sometimes you get the 1/4 weirdness).
IF you are using a launcher like Nova, changing the AOD back to default only changes those icons - Nova wil keep your custom icons elsewhere the way you want them.
As an aside, would be nice for Oppo to make those AOD icons a tad bigger so we can glance and easily see them when the phone is sitting on a desk etc.

Option to add shortcuts on the first/main/home screen and not on the second one to the right?

Hi guys,
I have a freshly rooted Xiaomi Redmi 4x with Havoc OS 4.16 installed, which is based on android 11 and Pixel 5.
Thus, this is a question about Pixel 5's UI even if the phone is not a pixel 5 ( it does appear as one in Google Play Store).
I noticed when I install an app, the automatically generated home screen shortcut is created not on the home screen but on the next one to the right. The more I think of it, the more I realize this might be in fact a good design idea, because the user might want to keep the main home screen clean and under his/her control. However, for the sake of it, is there a setting to tell the UI to create new shortcuts on the main screen instead? I looked in the settings but could not find it.
I do know I can move them, no issue in that.
Edit. This might be the wrong forum though, 'cos I just read Havoc OS uses Material Design 2 UI.
"Havoc-OS 4.x is based on AOSP, inspired by Google Pixel. Has a refined Material Design 2 UI crafted by @SKULSHADY".
I don't suppose Google Pixel 5 uses this UI.
If that's the case, I kindly ask a mod to DELETE this. Thanks!
