Hi all guys, I've been missing a long time from here, so please be care enough to forgive me if I posted the thread in the wrong place.
I'm currently using Android Auto and enjoying very much the amazing work made from Gabriele (AAAD, of which I payed the PRO version in order to help the developer's job).
I'm running AA version 6.3.611314 (downgraded from 6.4, because otherwise AAAD didn't work, since AA 6.4.... doesnt' let you show the apps installed apart from the official ones); Ford Focus Active with Sync 3 updated to 3.4 version, a Galaxy Note 20 Ultra5G (European) with Android 11.
Everything works fine, even AAAD installed programs.
The only problem is that every time I unlock the phone it disconnects from AA and then it starts again from the beginning. I opened the DEv Options in the phone settings and chose as standard setting for the usb - File transfer / Android Auto.
My question is: Why this disconnections happen and HOW can I fix it? I currently drive with the phone unlocked and, useless to say, it doesn't charge as much as it would if the screen had been off. I alredy tried with other cables, even with a Sam S9+ original one.
Thanks in advantage, any help is appreciated.
Same here, S10+ latest official, AA 6.4.611714-release, Ford Sync 3.x .
Doing so for about a week (or some more). At phone unlock, AA is crashing to Sync interface, and phone is asking for permissions in order to start Android Auto again (need to press Allow, otherwise AA will not start!)
Thx!
Same here , s10
It'd be nice to know whether the problem starts from the phone version , the AA version or from the car itself.

I can confirm that the issue is related to the last Sammy update , I have downgraded to may update , now aa works perfect
Guys, Google just updated the discussion thread three days ago:
Thanks for all the reports. We informed the Samsung team and they have applied a fix on an upcoming upgrade as part of the regular July maintenance release to resolve this issue. Please keep checking for system updates on the device.

So my radio came in today and android auto doesn't work. It says my phone was not compatible. I have a rooted note 4 running android 5.0.2 (cm 12). I also used my fiancée sg5 with the new stock 5.0 and it still doesn't work! Anybody care to help?
Anybody?
Did you try calling pioneer?
I'm having the same issue. I have a rooted T-Mobile LG G3 running 5.0.
I thought I was the only one

Close on the weekend
There are YouTube videos of car audio installers using it so it has to work
Same here, I have an HTC One M8 rooted and its not working for me either. I read the manual and apparently you need a CD-MU200 interface cable from pioneer. Don't know if that's bulls**t or not, but we'll find out. I have the USB setup so that I can use the built-in port in my car. I don't know if that's what the reason is or not. I'll have to call pioneer on Monday.

Well that's three people with the same problem
I think you need the Google apps loaded for one thing, and having an account enabled may be even better.
Lollipop is essential at this time, and I think 5.1 is even better.
Nexus also has a better chance of working.
I am trying to get developer mode working and I am mainly using my Nexus 7 2012 w/ 5.1 because my 2013 N7 and N9 both are still on 5.0.
But its just about api21 that AA runs on. 5.1 has api22 and its confirmed AA is working on "normal" lollipop, I mean 5.0.x
I'm running 5.0.1 on my M8 and Android Auto isn't working

Also it's important to have latest GMS installed.

Check version you need, download it and install. I can bet all of you have old versions (as I was surprised some time ago that it's not updating and I was stuck on 6.x when for months there was 7.x available)

Thanks for the help. Unfortunately it didn't work for me. I went on the reviews for android auto app on Google play and it seems a lot of other people are having the same issue.
Theres a new update on pioneer site, but didn't fix problem.
Maybe
You can generally find the Android Auto button located on the home screen of your car's digital display. How to navigate to the home screen will vary by manufacturer, so check your car's user guide.
I plugged in my phone, found the Android Auto button, but it won't open.
If this is the first time you’re using Android Auto in a particular car, be sure to unlock your phone and accept the terms and conditions on your phone’s screen after you’ve connected and touched the Android Auto button on your display.
Also, make sure that the "Only connect to known cars" setting in the Android Auto app is unchecked.
The voice command button takes me out of Android Auto.
My USB cable isn't working.
Not all USB cables will work with all cars. Your car's user guide should have information about the best USB cable to connect your phone to the display.

Hi,
New version of AA is in the Play Store! v1.5.100945 v1.6.226040 (2710411-release).
After initial tests, it's seems to be more robust in connectivity with the HU... less disconnections and more fast connection. Even more, more robust with the HeadUnit Android App (thank you, Mike!).
:victory:
Please, post here yours feelings.

The ARM64 version of 1.6 appeared to work on my Priv. Version v1.5.100945 shows a date of March 23, 2016 on the Web Play Store and December 2, 2015 on the Priv Play store. Go figure.
I also received an email from Google yesterday saying 1.6 would be released yesterday and that it would fix my connection problems. It didn't. The version on the mirrors didn't anyway.

I have it running on my Nexus 9 and Nexus 6p, both running most recent Android N dev preview.
The old self mode works reliably again now ! (SP2P on latest released Jan 20 version of my Headunit app).
So Google fixed the Android Auto over Wifi stuff ; perhaps some OEMs are working on AA over Wifi now.
Sadly, didnt fix any issues I had with my 2016 vw and note 4. AA still has alot of work to do

AA can run over Wifi instead of USB. Google has never announced this. Apple has, for CarPlay, but theirs is still in perpetual beta.
I've done it, but it can lag a bit if your airwaves/wifi is congested.
It also always disconnects sooner or later, but I could probably nake it auto-reconnect with some work.
IMO, the practicality of AA over Wifi (or Apple CarPlay) is limited. Phones usually need to charge, particularly with GPS, Wifi, BT, data and phone calls and multiple apps all sucking up battery and getting the phone warm.

I know, this is the reason I always connect my phone when driving my car.
However, for 10 minutes or less driving time, why I need to connect the phone for charging? AA is by far, more powerful than the car's MIB head. So, I prefer to have the option of using WiFi when the USB is not connected.
After this discussion, please, can you explain how to run AA over Wifi?

Hi folks,
I've been struggling for almost two weeks to got OP3T work with Android Auto. I know it's not only me who is having such issue. The connection itself may be established be it randlomy disconnects after few minutes or even seconds.
Do you have any clue what is going on?
There is a ticket open on OP forums, people are having exactly the same issue.

It is an interface in your car. It lets you mirror android to the built in mulitmedia system in a vehicle. There are only main features like dialer, maps, spotify. Works great if you travel a lot and the voice commands helps. Totally hands free.
You gotta have a car which supports Android Auto obviuosly.
I drive Opel Astra MY2017.

I had to download an apk, since AA is not yet officialy released where I live.
Android auto works flawless for me now that I have a Oneplus 3t. It Never worked when I had the LG V10. You may want to see if it's a problem with the headunit itself and bring it to the dealer.
I have a 2017 Ford Fusion.
I never had any problems on LG G4 and same vehicle. Once switched to OP3T start having difficulties. It's not only me.
Doesn't work with OOS.
I tried, and tried to get my op3t to work with android auto, but everything I tried failed. I recently started rooting, and was able to use android auto with LineageOS, and RR roms. Turns out these
two are based on ASOP, not OOS.
So far Resurrection Remix 5.8.2 has been the most stable, and have had zero issues with Android Auto.
I don't know why OOS doesn't handle this well (at least for me), but I hope they fix it. I really like OOS, except for that one bug which is a big one for me.
Have the issue..Have not found a work around.
On any OOS build i got it to work but it will freeze when phone gets hot... When I use any other rom it works flawlessly... Right now I'm on Phoenix AOSP extended and works great..

Well this is disappointing. Android Auto is one of the main features I'm looking for in my next car which I plan to get this year...
Works without a problem on my Nexus 6p and now on my 3t Car is a Civic 2016

Recently purchased a 3T and having the same issue with OOS 4.1.3. My (soon to be sold unless I go refund my 3T) Nexus 6p never had an issue with AA w/ 2016 Golf GTI.
After reading the official forum's support thread (linked in OP), I updated to the recent Open 5 Beta and gave the "change to MIDI" for USB options a shot and it works for a period of time ~10-15 min but then the OS switches back to USB charging. I have to do the same procedure again to get another short successful duration out of AA. I have roughly a dozen different branded Type C cables and only 2/10 of them work with this method (the official Dash cable being one of them).
I'm going to give RR / Lineage a go and see if they can produce steady AA connections. Since I'm also still playing Pokemon Go I can't root / will have to try the Magisk route. I currently can't seem to get my Pokemon Go Plus to Bluetooth sync with the Go app on either 4.1.3 or Open 5.
My HTC Desire 10i (Pro Dual Sim) factory unlocked device just now received a 192mb size incremental update. The update took a good 20 minutes to complete. No cosmetic changes found. Mine is a factory unlocked device which might be meant for Taiwan/Myanmar markets but I am using it here in Canada Fido network with no issues except for weak signal occasionally.
Details:
Android version: 6.0.
Software Number: 2.22.709.2
Android Security Patch Level: March 1, 2018
Did anyone else receive this or similar update? Also an unrelated question. I see that my device doesn't have HTC Music or HTC Gallery. Instead, it comes with Google Photos and Google Music. Is there a way to get access to HTC's own music and gallery applications that can be fully functional in this device? I don't want to either unlock bootloader or root device. Any valuable inputs are welcome.

Yes I did receive the update (update citing improvements on a Chinese carrier LTE service) after manually checking for it.
HTC are using Google apps now because they want to at least make Sense Home more streamlined with a more stock Android feel (plus I imagine that they want to cut down on the hassle of maintaining their propriety apps)
So you either use the stock Google apps or download third-party apps for what you are looking for.

prmbasheer,
Bluetooth is fine for me, granted I have used it with something that requires a prolonged connection, but I will test it out with my Bluetooth headset just to be sure, I only transfer small files with Bluetooth but I have switched to transfer via wireless which is much faster of course, I will test it out during the weekend and I will let you know if I have the same issue or not.
Cheers

Hey there, I tested my Bluetooth headset (skull candy sb2) for more than 12 hours and I am to report that I did not experience any connection interruptions.
Perhaps the radio on your phone needs to be checked, but can I be frank, this phone is ok, not great by all means, they [htc] obviously have no plans for future OS updates, my advice to you is sell this phone and get a new one, I'll probably do the same down the road, that's just my opinion.
Cheers.

This device is widely reported for Bluetooth issues. I am glad your device has no such issues. I am using a smartwatch and the same earphones you tried. So, it is basically two devices I need to be connected to this phone but it fails terribly. Every 5 - 10 minutes one of the devices keep disconnecting and reconnecting. So, now I have started using my other phone (LG G6) and this is stored for later use or as you suggested, a sale.

Hi all! I was wondering if any of you guys have seen this issue before. I have an old Galaxy S10 that I wanted to resurrect for emulation and forgot the reason why I stopped using it was because the Bluetooth functionality, once toggled on, would look like it's trying to turn itself on but never enables.
I've tried:
Installing all updates
Resetting network settings
Clearing Bluetooth app cache / pairings
Wiping the system cache partition
Factory resetting
Re-flashing current and past firmwares
I was able to get Bluetooth to enable and function normally by random after re-flashing the firmware but would quit after 5-10 minutes.
On the S10 and my current phone Pixel 4a (with functional Bluetooth) I went into Developer options to check currently running services to compare. On the 4a the Bluetooth process is listed as having 1 process and 7 services, whereas on the S10 there were only 2 services and were missing services such as SapService, HidDeviceService, BluetoothPbapService, GattService. (I can post in an edit which services are failing to run on the S10 if need be). The Bluetooth process on the S10 will only show up once Bluetooth is toggled even though it doesn't enable, but will stop running, then start running again, rinse and repeat.
So that being said, is this a hardware issue that I'm SOL with? Are there any other remedies that I could try?
Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!
First off, which S10 do you have... Exynos/Snapdragon makes a big difference, but knowing the model number helps a lot in general as well.
What firmware are you on now?
On my 973U (ie, Snapdragon) I have 1 process and 7 services right now (with BT turned on)... on Oreo with January security (I have stayed off A12 because of many reports of issues on it). I can provide more detail later if needed, as well.

I have an SM-G973U (CCT) running G973USQU6GUJ3, which I believe is the last version of Android 11. I've tried Android 10 and 9 firmwares (can't recall which ones) and I've been having the same issue regardless, which makes me think it could be hardware-based.
In a couple of hours I can edit this post with the two processes that do run, if need be.
Made a mistake - my phone is 975U but that shouldn't matter.
I'm on G975U1UES6GUL1 which I believe is a later version than what you have... but I don't think that will fix anything for your issue. I was on GUL before, and everything worked fine then.
I'd say start off bone-stock after an ODIN and see if it works there (ie, don't download anything, if you can avoid it). Maybe some app you have is killing the BT? But if it doesn't work there, then yes it could just be a hardware thing... disappointing for sure.
