So it seams that installing the eu rom is worth it according to multiple owners here and my bootloader can be unlocked within few hours so I want to give the ROM a try. My question is what is better as a daily driver the stable rom or the weekly rom? or there is no major difference ? my top priority is battery life so is there any branch better than the other in this aspect?
Also, can some one post a link of a working TWRP to use in flashing the ROM?

Working TWRP in first post of the thread for the ROM here You need to change language when you've installed TWRP, which you do by clicking the 6th icon (3rd down on right) and then hitting the earth symol
Weekly All day. Love the updates.
I was on the weekly and whenever I sent a msg to someone on WhatsApp it make my music stutter on the Bluetooth speaker
The same thing happened with YouTube vanced and YouTube music etc
I use WhatsApp heavily so I had to go back to the stable
I'm also on stable... Few months ago in my Mi Note 10 I had weekly releases, and got update via OTA, installed, phone restarted, everything seams to be ok, and I went to bed... There was bug, phone crash itself, phone was on, but nobody was able to call me, alarm didn't ring, power button doesn't work, everyone who calls me heard signal, but phone didn't ring at all. At my work they think something was happened to me, and they send 2 people to my house to check why I didn't show up in work
So if that's your main phone, and you are using alarm in it, I recommended stable

Because the bleeding edge often has a list of bugs that need to be fixed that affect the critical functions
It's not always worth it just to get a couple of new features a couple of weeks sooner if they break your device and then you have to reinstall all your apps and data because the particians are different

If you're going EU, then head over to the Xiaomi EU forum https://xiaomi.eu/community for all the info and links to twrp and downloads. Or search in mifirm.net but the EU forum is the best source as it is their Devs ROMs. I use weekly but battery use can change on any update, not happened to me but you never know. If it does, at least it'l be fixed by next weekly update.

Greetings Forums Members,
I thought I'd make a post here and get your opinions about what ROM to use. - I'm currently running Resurrection Remix from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi...esurrection-remix-04-09-2017-t3587049/page420
So far everything seems to be running really well on this ROM, but before this Rom I was running Stock Rom with Marshmallow, then updated to nougat MIUI 9 or something like that and I really hated it... So I wiped, re-flashed the original Marshmallow Rom using Mi Tool. I then decided to install TWRP and Root my device and keep it on stock MM. It was really good and treated me well for the longest time. Eventually, I got bored of it and decided to try out some custom Roms.
I wanted to ask you all which Rom is currently the best Rom to use for the Mi Mix, would really appreciate some advice here. I'm mainly looking for something with good Battery Life and Fast/Smooth Rom.
- Thanks

AICP, It is the best and I think that besides Epic rom and Lineage that it is the only good one that is still maintained.

Thank you very much for your prompt and detailed response.
I'm currently using Resurrection Remix (ROM) - What are your thoughts on that? I personally find it to be really good because of the many feature it has included in the (ROM) - For example; you can really customize the (ROM) however you see fit. I find that to be the most appealing thing about the (ROM).
I'll be sure to give some of the other (ROMS) a try before settling on this one. I have yet to transfer all my dad over anyways since I've only been testing it so far. I'd like to make sure that there aren't many flaws before I settle.

Speaker switching in phone call and proximity sensor both work better in AICP, probably not a deal breaker, weekly updates and soon Oreo which there are a couple already.

I'll be sure to give it a try and see how it is. I decided to settle with RR now but I should definitely try out other (ROMS) before completely settling with RR since its the first custom (ROM) I've tried. I must say though that RR is very stable and has no flaws. Battery life is also very good.

RR hasn't been updated in months and likely won't be. AICP is the closest in terms of functionality (lots of config options etc) and is still updated weekly. Also, Oreo ROMs are starting to land (finally) so you might want to try those. I just built AICP for Oreo yesterday and I'm running it now. No major issues so far.

Awesome. Thanks for your input.
I've tried several ROMs that you've all recommended except for Viper. So far in my opinion I'd have to say RR has been the best in terms of speed, reliability and battery life. However, I'd like to give Viper a try as well just to see how it is in comparison to RR.
What version is it currently and what are your thoughts on Viper ROM ?

ViperOS is dead. Hasn't been updated in months and likely never will be. Rumours of an Oreo update hang on an article/video in Brazilian (where the team lead is/was based) showing it running on some device.
If you want to stick with Nougat for now, go AICP (more configuration options) or Lineage (closer to stock AOSP). Nougat ROMs are the only ones with custom kernels as yet too.
None of the Oreo ROMs are without issue for now, although they are minor for the most part. Another 1-2 should be along soon to add to Pixel Experience/Cardinal/RR/AICP.
I'm using @gavin19 's unofficial RR Oreo ROM. Love it. There are some minor issues but they shouldn't deprive you from trying it out. I strongly recommend it

Ya I need to try Crdroid, as I am on AICP and i havent really had any issues with that rom it works great and I can customize it like I want.
I am very excited i saw that ViperOs has figured out the Oreo 8.1 and has released a few roms, im hopeful someone will find a way to get that working for the Mi Mix!!!!
I think the best rom ever made for xiaomi mi mix is the Xiaomi.eu MIUI8 Stable v8.5.4.0
Reasons:
~ Unlike all custom roms, the miui uses the whole screen and has real rounded corners and not software made ones which makes the screen look better!
~ The MIUI 8 for MI MIX includes a gesture to hide the navigation bar and have a full screen in any app that you want, you can easly control it when ever you want, best rom for full screen exprience when ever you want! also when you do swipe to hide the nav bar the apps use the whole screen and there are no black bars! none of the custom roms have that!
~ version 8.5.4.0 has no bugs in it and has the best battery life you will ever see on the MIX
~ all Xiaomi.eu Pros and features!
~ Proximity sensor works perfectly and loud in this miui version, you cant find any custom rom that has that working perfectly these days
~ Camera is very good on the official MIUI version!
~ all the MIUI pros and features
~ NO HEAT of the phone, something that happens in a lot of custom roms I used
~ Please note that you can use MIUI9 from Xiaomi.eu if you want, but you will lose the stablity and swipe to hide the nav bar amd the phone heats a lot (but you get android 7, and all the new features) not recomended on the MIX
I have used tons of custom roms on my phone: LineageOS, RR, AICP, AOSP. AIOSP, DIRTY UNICORNS, PIXEL EXPERIENCE. none of the are as stable as that rom and I always go back to that rom.
Have a great day!

Yeah, Viper is most definitely a good Rom to use. I've used it on many other devices before and it has always performed rather well. It's a grea Rom overall and the customization is what really caught my attention. So I vote Yes, viper is indeed a good Rom to use on the Mi Mix and just about every other phone that supports it. AiCP is also a very good Rom on the Mi Mix.

I don't know man... I've never found the battery life to be good on stock ROM. I completely understand what you're saying though. However, if I'm being perfectly honest here, I wouldn't go back to using stock. Don't get me wrong it's very well-built and smooth but the battery life has always been horrible for me not sure why...

Backup & restore? Whatsapp chats and media files can be backed up to your Google drive and there are other options available for backup as well.
Same thing can be done for messages if you use the Google messenger app for texting and if not, you can still backup your messages and contacts very easily by using this 3rd party app to do so... Which uses Google drive. Also this app backs up call logs, contacts and SMS messages. App name: SMS BACKUP & RESTORE.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.riteshsahu.SMSBackupRestore
As far as apps and settings go you can always just use your Google account to backup all apps/files/data if you have the option turned on in settings of course.
General SD files like media files (pics, vids, etc.) can be backed up manually using your computer and internal storage or by uploading them to the cloud... which is for free.
How to revert back to stock? There are many guides available right here on the forums, if you just take a closer look you'll see exactly what I'm talking about.

Almost every single ROM here is stable enough for daily uses, use one of them that suits you, don't need to think about Network Issues.
i prefer custom ROM based MIUI just like Xiaomi Eu / MiuiPRO / MiuiGlobe in your case for network
Use rr Luis, using it for months no problem faced, good customisation and battery backup, use clarity v2.0 custom kernel for good battery backup

Oh. I never faced that problem, neither many of us. So I can't help with the matter. If you still want to use custom ROMs, try RR Luis build as the upper one said or try another one, if the problem still exists and you still want to use custom ROM, then contact the developer with proper details. Or change to MIUI based ROM, as the upper one said.
*Also try to flash the latest firmware.

Hi , sorry this might be off topic, but does anyone know if it would be possible to port any Redmi note 4 Rom Official or Cutom, to the PPTV King 7 device? As this has the same chip and is practically the same. I would really love to learn how to port Roms from one device to another, but have only flashing Rom experience.
If anyone knows if iit in fact this would be possible to do and any starting points, please can you pm me.
Again sorry if i have butted into this thread off topic.

Hi Guys,
I came from Miui weekly update with Oreo (version 8.2.1), I would try Oreo 8.1.
I saw that there is a few ROMs with beta version of Oreo 8.1 and I've read that are more or less instable.
Which is the "more" stable and developped ROMs at the moment for Mi Mix 2 with Oreo 8.1 (RR 6.0, OmniRom, LineageOs 15, etc...) for daily usage?
Thanks in advance :fingers-crossed:

Definitely read through all the threads. I'm running LOS15.1 by Arasthel and i've had no problems so far. Only bugs are VoLTE and very fast blinking notification LED (fixable in settings). If you don't need any of the customizations RR offers this ROM is pretty much perfect.

Thanks a lot, it was what I was looking for.
If I should to have problem i'll send you a PM.
On Omni right now and overall experience is really nice, not experiencing any issue that has an impact on daily use, give it shot.Omni is pretty much the best custom rom I've ever tried on my MIX 2,really smooth and not feeling some big difference from the MIUI on smoothness and stability(the only exception i've come across so far is the front facing camera will crash when trying to record a video at 480sp resolution.),battery life is really good like fully charged and you get 6-7 hrs of SOT and 12 hrs of idle in total,no problem for a whole day use.(according to my daily usage,it's totally enough for a whole day use.)
I can recommend LineageOS if you dont need multiple modifications. RR if u need some mods abilities.
I really liked LOS but it doesnt have ability to disable second SIM card...
I've heard good/bad things about both of them. I've used xiaomi.eu on my former RN5pro and was very happy however if the experience is better with revolution OS I would give it a try (regarding battery/performance/bugs etc.)
Thanks guys! Have a great day :highfive:
I am also interested in this topic. I used Xiaomi.eu on my MI MIX3 and now I have to switch to MI9 and I am not sure, whether to use Xiaomi.eu or Revolution OS.
I did not test Xiaomi.EU, but from what I read RevOS is the same with more debloat and better battery life. The negative aspect is you get less frequent updates than with Xiaomi.EU, so it could be that with Xiaomi.EU you get new features and bug fixes more quickly, but then again there are only very few little bugs on RevOS so I think it's not much of a problem tbh.
I'm currently on RevolutionOS with Magisk and PocoLauncher and I'm really happy with it, but of course when the first stable AOSP based Roms with working camera will come out, I'll switch to that very quick haha

Great! Honestly I've never updated my phone anyway (since I've debloatet/modded it completely and didn't want to do the hustle again). If it offers the same/more features like xiaomi.eu + no frequent updates (since never thouch a running system) I think I'm giving it a go (after the 15 days wait period
Thanks again for your great reply! :victory::good:
In my opinion RevolutionOS battery life is better than EU . Idle time last night using RevolutionOS was about 3% in 8 hours while with EU rom was 10-13%.
RevOs for sure. I have tried Flokorom (GSI), Xiaomi.eu, and RevOs and I keep coming back to Rev. I get the best battery life by far with it, especially stand by time.

Did you, or anyone try the XASP Patch on top of RevOS ? it seems really interesting and i'm curious of the results it's giving

Actually, yes. I forgot to mention these results are with the XASP Patch. I am not sure how much that patch contributes to battery, but the combination of RevOs and the XASP are the best things to flash on the Mi 9 right now. I used GSI roms and will I like the minimal OS it just felt a big buggy and not able to fully utilize the hardware yet. Don't use any extra mods/apps like L speed mod or Greenify, I havent found them to be useful (on MIUI at least) and can got better battery without.

Yeah apparently battery and overall performance is much better with it. Did you encounter any bugs ?

I just installed the patch on top of cleanly installed RevOS. Shouldn't Magisk be there by default with XASP ? was it when you installed it ? Because now i'm not sure if it's correctly installed or not. Thanks :good:

Yes it should be there. I would recommend wiping data, factory reset, then install RevOs immediately followed by XASP patch.

That's what I did, but I think i'll try again. You can confirm it's the aromaless-universal version that we need to flash for our device, right ? In other words : this one (sorry, just want to be sure I'm using the right file, and maybe it can help others who'll see this in the future)
I use xiaomi.eu because it updates more often(weekly). I always remove any additional app I don't use from system when those are not impact to my daily use.
Haven't tried ros of mi9, but was using ros in the past. Don't feel that different to eu

Battery life on ROS wasn't much better on other Xiaomi phones in my experience. But on my Mi 9 I had far better standby time on ROS compared to Xiaomi.eu and Global EEA.
Now on another thread I just saw this rom called "mi-globe" : https://mi-globe.com/rom-builder/
You can basically pre-customize things like if magisk is preinstalled etc before downloading the rom. How is that one compared to RevOS and Xiaomi.eu ?
But from what I saw it's not much different, and I still think battery life will be better on RevOS.
One more question (since so many of them exist already): which type of TWRP did you use for flashing Revolution OS? Thanks!

I think the fiirst time I flashed it, it was with an old version of randomblame's one. But now I saw in the thread that there are problems flashing with the new one.
On the chinese TWRP it doesn't work for me.
Second time I flashed it with an older version of mauronofrio's TWRP (3.3.1-4 because there was a bug with the new version too), but now the bug is fixed on his version and siankatabg's version.
So I recommend you to use the latest versions of either mauronofrio or siankatabg's twrp, since they both support decryption now too. :good:
On the latest update of revolution os, I noticed my battery and network speed icon is white and can't be seen properly as compared to time and network bar which is showing with black color. How do I solve this?
Dead topic?
Any noticed issue with fingerprint unlock?
which is the best and most stable rom for MI A2. By stable i mean for day to day use and obviously bug free rom.

Sorry, but you'll have to test them by yourself and pick one that works for you... what suits me probably won't suit you. The features that I use the most probably are not as important to you, and probably the things that are important to you I don't use as much in order to say they are stable. The apps I use probably are not the same as you, the signal strength, the carrier, the charger, the bluetooth devices, the root method, magisk modules or even if you are not going to root.
I'm enjoying the PE+ rom, but I did many tweaks to it and it works for me, but there are many people facing really annoying bugs that makes it a no go. So there isn't an easy answer for what you are looking for.

wow what kind of useless responses are those? He didnt say what is the best one, he asked what is the most stable dudes.
Hi! I tried most of them, PE+, HavocOS, AICP, LINEAGE, in my case the most stable and daily driver is Havoc OS, there is one problem on all of them for me, my banking app wont run on modded rom's so i reverted to miui, android one.
There is trial and error, some might work from start, some are harder to make them run ok, without any crashes. The fastest one i found was Pixel Experience+, the most stable one, Lineage OS(be carefull, it doesnt support google apps from the box), and the one which does any task well, good battery and stability in my case, was Havoc OS. With pleasure, ViVa.

The most stable ROM is obviously stock.

Lol, no.
Stock has serious bootloop issues between updates.
If you're staying on stock you should still unlock bootloader, just in case. And backup important data before updates.
This saved me 4 or 5 times already.

Which Android version? I am on 10 and never had a boot loop after update but I always do it manually using fastboot.
I've also stripped Stock down to the bare-bones - no Google anything, except Play Services, Phone and Contacts and everything seems to work OK with no crashes ever.
I concur with your bootloader unlock advice.

Hi all,
I bought my A2 yesterday. This is my first time thinking of using stock rom instead flashing i.e. Lineage. Can you describe the steps to stripe down stock?
Thanks!

Root using Magisk, then use something like link2SD to get rid of the bloat. I always freeze the unwanted Apps instead of deleting them.
