today I received an update on my s21 ultra, and now when i search an app that is hidden it won't show. should I downgrade to April security patch? I hide a lot of apps that I use frequently to keep order in my phone.
example: if i type "instagram" or just "in" it would show the app and maybe some other that have the in letters
You can't downgrade to april patch, because the bootloader version got upgraded also, so it's impossible to downgrade.

Best guess: his bootloader is locked and he apparently cannot downgrade to an earlier version of Android 6.0.1. On top of that, he tried sideloading an OTA and that failed. The last thing he tried was installing an app in an attempt to bypass FRP, and that didn't work.
Solution to the problem: Enter the correct account information. If this device was purchased from someone else, have that someone else remove the device from their Google account.
I saw the forum posting saying that the android O update is rolling out in australia and new zealand. this got me concerned because i dont believe my phone can get OTA updates. I rooted and flashed roms and went back to stock, however my bootloader says the phone is modified and google play says the phone is uncertified. is there anyway i can go back to true retail stock to guarantee that i can receive the OTA update when it rolls out in the states?
If you have flashed the correct firmware according to the country where u live u will definately get OTA updates. Many times I flashed Oct security patch updates and after booting I get notification to update my phone. It doesn't matter if bootloader is locked or unlocked , modified or official . Even if you're rooted then also you will receive notification to update but if try to update it may crash. Just make sure it's a clean unrooted official firmware.
I still have the july security patch how do i get the october one?
So, here's the thing: I upgraded to Pie using the leaked OTA. When the January update became available last month I didn't try to rollback or anything because it had nothing new.
Now the February patch is supposed to have the missing Pie apps (Digital Wellbeing, etc) and it would be really nice to be able to update, but I can't even update to the Jan one since it gives me error when trying to install the patch.
What's the best way to go to the February security patch? Should I try to flash an official firmware, and how?
I'm on 00WW_5_110 and my phone isn't unlocked or anything.
Yay, I did it! I followed this guide from here about unlocking the bootloader but only as far as downgrading to November patch.
After that it installed the official December Pie beta and then the January patch. It doesn't find the February update, but I guess it just isn't available in my region.
Currently running Baseband Version N960USQU1CSC1, Android Security Patch level: March 1, 2019.
I have never received an OTA update since buying my phone in Aug 2018. For the Android Pie update and all updates since, I have been performing them via ODIN.
Neither AT&T not Samsung have been able to troubleshoot this issue. Appreciate any help on how I can setup my phone to receive OTA updates.
Thanks!

The new firmware is in another post. Just Odin and you'll be current.
I have unlocked on AT&T , and just got the April update this morning, all OTA. Never had to Odin the updates , but definitely not as quick as the carrier branded models. I have only added the APN names when I got the phone(preorder so August 2018) and that's the only setting I changed.
Didnt think flashing instead of waiting for OTA would cause any troubles, but Samsung is sneaky sometimes. Have you thought that maybe you flashed the incorrect files, maybe carrier vs unlocked? Also, factory wipe and reset ? I know the pie update did some screwy things for me and it seemed better after a wipe .

Since switching from Sprint to T-Mobile last spring with my unlocked Galaxy S10+, I've yet to get a new security update (Still says I have the latest version at April 1st)
Can I manually install the Security update without root my phone? Would it work to manually install it?
I took into a T-Mobile store and after fiddling with it for a long time they suggested calling Samsung. I didn't do that yet...
I have factory reset it but that didn't help.
Thanks in advance.
Yeah you can flash the latest firmware with the patched version of Odin. Here's the thread:
