why redmi 9 have only android 10 and android 11 custom roms?

why redmi 9 have only android 10 and android 11 custom roms? i think ram management should be best if someone will be release android 8 or android 9 custom rom(if it's possible ofc)

because Redmi 9 Stock ROM is Android 10 . then device sources is only for Android 10+
also
Android 10 have a lot changes in system partitions and permissions regarding older versions
so , is impossible to build older Android versions.
maybe a dev can give more info , Cheers !

It is not easy to identify code names of devices in this forum. I spent a time for find information and decided to write about if for next, who will try to identify devices.
Lancelot - redmi 9
poco m2 - shiva
lava - virtual device = LA[ncelot] & [shi]VA for labeled roms for lancelot and shiva, and this is not LAVA smartphone

Unable to modify Redmi 9 Cattail

I been trying to find ways to install TWRP or any custom recovery in Redmi 9 (Cattail) but I'm unable to find any way to do so. Anyone was able to accomplish that? Further, there are no custom ROM made out for that. Any update on this aspect?

TWRP worked for me, but only on Android 10
From ROMs I tested:
PixelPlusUI - fails sctProfileCheck, opening screen recorder crashes OS untill reboot
WaveOS - a lot of lag, MagiskModules not working

Yes very confusing mine is code name "pomelo" nowhere to be found ill been using any for (lime) EUroms and Miumi Mix

what about A13 ? cos xiaomi will not get officialy to redmi 9T

Redmi 9t = lime
Poco M3 = chime
Juice = redmi 9t e poco M3 unificados.
Você pode flashear lime ou juice, vai dar bom.
Pois o redmi 9t e o Poco m3 são praticamente a mesma coisa.

Bringing some MIUI functions into another ROM

Would it be possible to bring some UI features from the MIUI into the custom ROM? I would like to have a Redmi Airdots 3 Pro pop-up window so I could see my case battery level or the Mi Fit device distance option when unlocking the phone using a band. I'm thinking of getting a custom ROM as I'm sick and tired of the outdated MIUI (12.0.10), sh... RAM management (randomly closing critical apps like Google Dialer or the Messages app) and the visual glitches such as seeing the phone unlocked for a second after turning on the screen or the invisible app icons.

I'm stuck on the MIUI 12.0.10 QJOEUXM (EU - Slovakia) for 4 months since the phone came from the repair as it got bricked by the 12.0.9 update (bootlooping and lost everything), also I think the didn't flash the right ROM as I'm seeing functions as Active Display or the wrong the TWRP app reports completely different phone codename "gaugin" instead of the "merlin". Is there any good Recovery and a ROM for the merlin which has all functions working? Model: M2003J15SG
