I've recently got my hands on the Mi 11 Ultra, and the top issue I was having was that none/only some notifications will show up. I've searched around the forums and some say that setting the app's battery limit to none, having the app set to auto-start etc. I've followed all those tips and it wasn't really working out for me until I stumbled onto another option.
First, you'll have to enable the developer's option. Once inside, find the setting that says " Adaptive Notification Priority". Turn this OFF and all of your notifications should show up properly now.
Before turning this off, I wasn't getting any of my Instagram Direct notifications and only part of my WhatsApp notifications. Now they all pop up like they're suppose to.
Hope this helps out those with similar issues!

Hope it helps! I'm still messing with the settings to this very day! I'm way too accustomed to the stock android setting as my daily driver before the 11 Ultra was a Pixel 3 XL
Didnt help me... still not Gmail notifications and some apps require to turn on in order to get notifications even when auto-start is enabled and battery consumption is turnd off
To get notifications, you need to do 2 things:
Go in apps and toggle on Autostart, change notification setting to "Important"
Related
So I use reminders in my phone, a lot. I have across a number of different Android devices and it makes organising my life a lot easier.
But on my Z3C, they'll pop up, and even if I don't dismiss them, they'll disappear from my notification bar pretty quickly. What used to happen, with my Xperia Z, is they'd stay there and build up until I did something with them.
When things flash up now, if I don't manually snooze or reschedule them, I'll forget they ever came up - and miss what I was trying to remind myself to do!
I've tried changing settings and calendar apps too but nothing seems to help. Can anyone advise?
Hi, there is a settings-personalisation-clear view notification switch to off. I think it helps.

Thank you, but mine's already off and I think it's switched off by default. I don't think it's that.
So I've followed the guide on how to get push notifications. I've done it all from turning off battery saver, locking the apps, turning memory optimization off, putting apps in auto start, turning the floating notifications on, etc...There are still several apps that won't push notifications (YouTube, Amazon shopping, Yahoo mail). I don't use many apps that push notifications, but I'm guessing most won't work. However, I'm able to receive notifications from Gmail,. Viber, and Textra.
Is their anything else I can do other than switch to a custom ROM? I'm on the latest Chinese ROM. I've followed the guide on here step by step.
Only thing you seem to have not mentioned seems "Turn MIUI optimisations" off in Developer options. Try that maybe? Yahoo seems to work me, though inconsistently sometimes.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that one. I tried it last night after watching a YouTube video and it didn't work. I'll try it again though. I don't see how Xiaomi will get repeat business from people if they can't even accomplish getting push notifications right.

Another interesting tidbit of information is 8 Ball pool will push me notifications and I don't have the app on any of battery methods mentioned such as turning off battery saver off for the specific app, putting it in auto start and making it priority. Yet other apps I've done those measures on won't push notifications. Go figure. F*ck MIUI.
Hi together,
I don't get push notification fro Whattsapp Messages and Aquamail mails in standby. After unlocking the Screen, all notifications are coming...
I already tried to deactivate batter optimization...it doesn't help.
Can anyone help me?

Allow unlimited data access, whitelist from battery saving, and allow to run in background.
Allow the app to ignore battery optimization too

I've tried all the suggestions here and still have trouble. I'd leave my phone for an hour or so, turn the screen on and a whole bunch of notifications come pouring in from WhatsApp, Gmail, Messenger etc.
My settings are:
1. Apps -> Apps -> Special Access -> Battery Optimisation -> Not Optimised (for all my email and messaging apps)
2. Battery -> App Launch -> Manage Manually (for all my email and messaging apps)
3. Wireless & Networks -> Data Usage -> Data Saver -> Off
Is there anything else I need to do? This is a serious problem for me and quite frankly, I need to get a new phone if this keeps happening.

Thanks for your reply. I've already done that actually. If you don't touch your phone for say an hour, are you sure the notifications are coming in when it's sleeping and not just when you turn your screen back on?

Thanks for your help, I've discovered the issue now. I don't remember if someone mentioned this earlier and I'm not sure how I missed it, but the issue wasn't the apps closing when the phone went to sleep (since I did everything to make sure they didn't close), the problem was that the phone would switch off LTE and/or Wifi when the screen is off. The setting that controls this is in: Settings - Battery - More Battery Settings - Stay connected when device sleeps. Make sure this is turned on (it was turned off for me before).
I feel almost certain this was turned on in the past and feel it was only turned off in one of the firmware updates. I most certainly would never have turned that off. I can't believe they would use that as a default option since I can imagine only the most battery conscious users would want that off. They should at least have an option where the phone would automatically turn data back on periodically to check for notifications. I know there are third-party apps that do this but if they're going to include an option like that built-in, they should do it properly.
Anyway, problem solved, hope this helped someone else out there.
I have the same issue, but Stay Connected is on, and has been for as long as I've had the problem (2-3 days). No new apps, no new updates, affects all my apps. Driving me nuts. Anything else than doing a full wipe left to try?
same here, till yesterday everything was working fine, i didn't install a new app, configuration of battery settings, data background running is the same, also app locked in recent to run backround as before. update i did before 3 weeks. very strange
I'm very sure this problem occur since the newer software update, my device have same issue.
You can check how to remove PowerGenie (the huawei stock battery management), removing PowerGenie 'might' help you fix it.
I called Huawei and asked, and got a fix! It's not a huge lump of fun, but this is it:
Settings - System - Reset - Reset all settings
Note: all your stuff is still there after reset. Only thing that happens is that it forgets your wlans, your fingerprints, face recognition, lock screen pass/pattern, and all kinds of logins and permissions on your apps. And your apps will jump out of folders and make a hell of a mess. But it worked splendidly for me, notifications are popping up as they should, when they should. Gave me a nice chance to re-arrange my apps even.
Happy thoughts to Huawei (Norway) for having customer service available on the phone, on a regular number, and answering within a few seconds.

I just did it today and it was a complete lost of time. In addition of losing all settings (bluetooth, Wifi, applications and folder on launcher,...) it was not helping with notifications: no Outlook, no WhatApps, no banking app... In other word, nothing, it was worse than before.
I will continue to test settings like controlling launching applications and exclude applications from battery optimization.

It has worked wonders for me at least, notifications are doing their normal thing, including sending them to my FitBit. But I guess there are all kinds of settings that can mess up your notification system =/

Is it just push notifications you're not getting or are messages not coming through at all until device unlocked/app opened? I've been trying all sorts, searched "data" in settings and stumbled upon "unrestricted data access" all apps are disabled on this. Hoping next few hours will show that's me sorted finally.
Once my screens been off 15 minutes, friends WhatsApp msgs only show 1 grey tick their end until I open WhatsApp again

This is driving me nuts. I set up my new s10 by signing in to my Google account and choosing to restore my Pixel 3 XL backup. All the apps and everything downloaded just fine, but the blue light filter that I had scheduled for 10pm to 6am on the Pixel has apparently followed me to the S10. The only problem is that I have no way to disable it. It shows as off in the settings even though it clearly turns on at 10pm. If I manually change the clock to say 7pm, the filter turns off, but the whole time, the settings show that it's off. Enabling it in settings while it is already active results in a slightly more red blue light filter, that's it. Short of doing a factory reset and setting it up as a new device, I can't think of any way to fix it. I've even tried turning off the setting on my Pixel to no avail. Any ideas?
I had the same issue.
Download an application called Activity Launcher.
You will need to find the activity that is linked to night shift, I can't remember the name on the top of head but it will be pretty obvious when you will see it.
Samsung apparently decided to scratch away the stock feature by just creating their own one and removing the stock one's setting entry. However it's still there, and still working as long as you can manually launch the activity and it activate automatically if you had a schedule created on another device.
Funily enough that allows you to get even stronger effect by combining both features at the same time.
Check your nightlight settings in the Google Play Books App. Set that to 0 and it should fix the issue.

I am having the same issue with my newly bought 2 days old Xiaomi 11T. I transferred everything from my previous phone Xiaomi Mi A1 and I had Night Light scheduled to turn on at 11:30 p.m. and off at 7:00 a.m. But now there is no NIGHT LIGHT feature on Xiaomi 11T but the screen automatically turns yellow when the schedule starts and turns back to normal at 7 a.m. Please help me with this. I tried installing Activity Launcher, but I couldn't find the setting you are talking about. I also have both, schedule and reading mode turned off in the settings, but this still happens due to settings brought from the old phone.
Please help me out.

Think that's the same app that boned me. It alters a hidden user setting that remains after you uninstall it.
Unclean uninstall... Gookill sucks.
The way I fixed it was to reinstall it, change that setting, uninstall. Over a year later still on that same OS load, A-ok.
OP: don't use SmartSwitch when migrating to a different device especially for apps. Do a clean load... more *surprises* are likely waiting for you.
Do not trust SmartSwitch with critical data... I use it for homepage settings only where if it fails it's no big deal.
I have a Galaxy s21 ultra and I spent the last month so furious that I couldn't get the blue light filter to stop coming on at sunset until I saw this post and downloaded activity launcher and found the night light setting
Thank you so much to everybody who responded here

Is anyone else getting extremely delayed notifications on their Asus ROG Phone 2? I have noticed that notifications are taking about 10-15 minutes to finally pop up on the phone. If I go in to the apps, such as Google Voice, 2FA apps, PushBullet, Visual Voicemail, Outlook, GMail, etc... I see the information in the app, but the notifications still take a long time to actually pop up in the notification tray.
I had that happen in the beginning then I disabled all app manager stuff other than stock android battery optimization. So I disabled all the asus auto disable or mobile manager stuff. Just dig in the settings and fiddle around with it. I think the phone is still new so no one has a clear answer yet.

I've allowed the apps to auto-start, they are not being optimised by the battery, all notifications are active but still not getting anything..?
