Sony Xperia video light / balance issues - Sony Xperia XZ2 Questions & Answers

Hi. I’m trying to shoot a video on the Sony Xperia xz2 and am having lighting issues. The light keeps changing as I’m filming, getting lighter & darker when I move in shot. I have tried to turn off the auto white balance and focus, but the light around me changes when I move. I want it ( and the background) to stay the same. Any ideas on how I can change the video settings to it will stay constant and not change when I move? I’m shooting in a studio with a static background. Thanks!

How to completely Disable Bravia Engine

Since I've got my Xperia T I have noticed a weird screen behavior I hadn't seen yet in any other android phone, whereas the device adjusts not just the backlighting, but also the contrast and the saturation based on the onscreen content.
I outright dislike it, as it's not seamless - you can actually see them slowly changing while you navigate your android screens, and it's not limited to photos and videos, as someone says. It's system-wide.
Just try closing all tabs in Chrome (remain with the dark chrome background icon), and look at the status bar icons: they are pale white, not bright white. Then open a browser tab and watch the address bar colors (sand, white, and black text), go through all of the shades of grey, before finally settling to the right colors. It's not just Chrome... every time your display shows a dark scene going brighter, you can see it happen.
Couldn't it stick to the max contrast and saturation setting, just like what we see in the photo album?
Alternatively, is there a way to disable the bravia engine and make my screen behave like all other screens?
Thank you for any answer

Apparently that setting affects just the Bravia Engine behavior when watching pictures or videos.
I did notice that behavior on my XT screen but i don't think it's a bravia engine issue, i believe is sony stock roms problem. Actually i'm on recCoba's curiosity Rom, wich has the same acreen behavior, but i don't temember too well but i think when i was on jellybam rom the screen was behaving as a regular screen but as i said i can't say it for sure. Someone with a CM bases rom could tell if that happens too on those roms
It has already been discussed -

[Q] 2 Questions:ColorBoost and pink spot in camera foto

Hi everyone!
I am a happy owner of AtrixHD,but two things I do not like:
1.Color boost technology of display.Such colors are acceptable for gaming, web browsing e.t.c.,but playing video and watching foto give very unreal colors, oversaturated, especialy pink(red).Definetly, there is no color adjustment in stock roms.Is there any chance to adjust colors(especially their saturation) within the settings of any custom rom or kernel which are discussed in development section?
2.In low light conditions(for example:small room with one window in cloudy day)my stock camera app is givng a spot with more pink color in the center of display, same spot appears on foto. All other camera apps from google play have the same spot. With normal light conditions everythig is ok.Does anyone has the same?Is it a hardware or software issue?
Thanks in advance for all replies, this i s a great forum.Sorry for my English,I am from Ukraine,Eastern Europe.

I know that ParanoidAndorid (not ours, OFFICIAL PA) uses custom color tweaks in their Nexus kernels. There might be a way to something similar for us, but I've never looked into it nor would I know where to start. Defy CM's were\are able to run color filters via software, not what you're looking for, but it does mean that its possible to tweak the display levels via software.
I've never had the pink spot issue, not in low light or good light. My low lights are just washy and kinda crappy, but no spots. HDR does much better in low light, sucks it doesn't work on 4.2 . HDR does look a bit oversaturated so you might not like it. Might be HW, might not be -- can't really say with any certainty.

[q] background showing yellow instead of white when accessing camera

I noticed that when I am using the camera, eventhough the light is good but still the background shows yellow. I tried pointing to a white background and tried to capture that picture but I found that instead of white the background is becoming yellow. Is the camera not good or do I need to change any light effects for camera.I am using the Auto mode. Please help.
It's because Superior Mode. Use Manual settings and change White Balance.

Xperia T Color banding issue

I see color banding issue on Xperia T's interface. Even when the brightness is maxed out, it is severely affected by the banding issue and there's also noticeable amount of noise while playing Video. My firmware ver. 9.1.a.1.141
I have included an image to test the banding issue. Just download the image and open it in full screen to your device.
I have noticed this too. Especially with certain colors on the Walkman app backgrounds. Guess theres nothing you can do about it. Its due to the quality of the lcd. Bit depth and all that. Also sometimes i notice backlight bleeding on the sides. Most of these issues could be overcome by an AMOLED screen I guess.
If you can find a way to enable "surface dithering" like in cyanogenmod this could help. Problem is it may be enabled already. Doesn't really bother me, who really cares about blacker blacks? as long as colours are good

In CM10 I noticed narrower bands of color gradient but in CM10.1 it is like the stock one.
But it's irritating that while playing video it tries to show more shadow detail and then the video becomes more noisier at high brightness. Also the sharpness of playback isn't good.

[Q] Disable Xperia T Auto Contrast Thingy Magigy?

Hi guys, I have a Xperia T and recently disabled DLS which drastically changes the brightness of the picture you are looking at depending on whether it's light or dark. If it's a light picture then the brightness would increase and if it was a dark picture the screen would go dark.
Thankfully DLS is easy to disable by editing the pre_hw_config.sh file in root>etc. However, there is still a feature that adjust the contrast automatically, which is kind of annoying when watching vids.
Is there anyway to disable this feature? I tried disabling the Bravia Engine but that has no effect and it's also not the adapt to lighting conditions in the brightness menu.
