Hi,
I recently bought this phone knowing the touch was not responsive and just looking for any clues on where to start.
The screen works and using the side buttons can adjust volume (visible on screen) and bring up power menu but can't do much else since the touch is not working.
the phone has been factory reset so it loads into the MIUI 12 setup guide. I've tried linking it up with Mi PC suite with no luck. is this looking like a hardware failure or software maybe?
Also there is no damage to the screen
Thanks in advance
Lee
i think you will need to find xiaomi mi flash tool for your device and flash the stock firmware
you can download it here. I dont know much about that phone though so im only making suggestions.
Try to flash the whole MIUI firmware again.
Thanks for the help, I suspect it might be a firmware issue but had no luck with flashing using some tools so far but I'll try that link and see what happens
I've applied for the bootloader to be unlocked and waiting the 7 days for that, is there anything I can do in the meantime?
I've confirmed that the phone works and is not crashed as I plugged a mouse into it and am fully able to use the phone this way.
I tried to flash update via local but got an error that I cannot flash lower version.
Anything I'm missing?

Hi All,
Australin Optus GT-I9305 (4G/LTE Ver).
Android 4.1.2
Download mode: Binary dowload 3 - Current binary Official - System status Official
I tried to root my SGS3 today with Odin however I used the wrong root from my old Note 2 which caused the screen to do weird things and then the screen would not boot up or respond. I have reinstalled the stock software on it with Odin and now the phone starts up but still does not respond to my touch's.
I can boot into recovery and download mode no problem. I have cleared the cache and performed a factory reset still no response from screen. I am stuck in the first set up screen atm the menu key, back & home key all make sounds when I touch them.
If I unroot the phone will it fix this issue? if so how?
Is the phone gone/dead/unfixable?
Or can I use USB OTG to control the phone so I can use triangle away and return for warranty?
I also think USB debugging is off as well as I cannot get into the phone.
Any help will be really appreciated thanks guys.
Although extremely similar in hardware the screen's digitalizers are different causing issues like this instead of a plain brick that you would get if you tried a I9300 firmware. Try using Samsung Emergency Restore on Kies.
If that doesn't work then you may have to send it into a repair center as you could have, put bluntly, ****ed it.

I've read of several cases where people have used Roms or recoveries intended for the Note 2 on their S3 and it literally fries the screen.
It allows too much current through or something like that.
I think you will need to get a new screen mate.
Hi all,
So I have an S3 i9305 sitting around doing nothing. Thought I'd play with it. I had and older build of Miui running on it fine.
Decided to put on CM11, and that's when my issues started. The phone boots, but as soon as I get to any sort of setup screen I can touch anything on the screen. The physical buttons work fine, but the screen isnt.
I flashed a touch CWM and TWRP, both of which loaded fine by I couldnt touch anything.
I flashed back to stock kernel and stock rom
Kernel from - http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/development-i9305/recovery-odin-flashable-tar-t1971265
ROM from - http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...5/roms-updated-17-08-2013-pre-rooted-t1942150
Still unresponsive touch.
Anything else I can try before I write this off as bricked
Thanks!

1 more thing...get the RIGHT firmware from HERE - get the one for your country.....flash that and do a factory reset after it..and wipe cache....
happened to a friend with galaxy ace....but phone was back to normal after flashing stock firmware from samsung.
Thanks mate!
So I tried some more flashes, no luck.
Took the phone to the local repair place, they told me the screen is broken. They attached a different temp screen and it worked. They attached my screen to a different phone and it didn't work.
Quoted me $189 to replace the screen

Dont think so... tired a few from the SamMobile site with no success. The setup screen shows up fine - but cannot continue with the setup as I cannot touch the screen.

so it is a hardware problem....not software - you can flash whatever you like...won't solve it...
if you like the phone consider repairing it...

Thanks for your help
I am having the same problem.
Even after installing new firmware.
The phone boots, screen is working. But the touch is not responding... I also did a factory reset + wipe cache.
Before that it was on CyanogenMod (4.2.2) and the screen was working properly.
What else can I do TT ?
I changed the front panel.
And it is working perfectly well...
How can modification to the software affect the hardware and brake the digitizer/touch function ?
via kernel man...kernel is the interface between software and hardware....
maybe a frequency or voltage got changed by kernel and something happened....no one can know for sure...

When wrong kernel is flashed, the touch sensor get disconnected and unrecongnised by the phone. Thats why the hardware is broken even though correct kernel is flashed afterwards. Best thing to do is replace the screen instead of trying over and over again.
Hope it helps
I use the Samsung GT 19305 LTE myself.
Hello everyone. I updated my rooted OP3T (with TWRP installed for recovery) to OOS 4.0.1(I think? I know for sure it was 4.0.x) a week or so ago using a VPN as I live in the US and today I got the new update for whatever version that was about 30 mb, and after I rebooted I got stuck booting into TWRP so I followed the guide linked underneath here and got up to step 12 (flashing beta 9) and after swiping to restart my phone will not turn on in any way, shape, or form. Whenever I plug it in/unplug it from my computer I'll still get the Win10 device connected/disconnected sound and if I hold the power button for long enough while it's plugged in I'll get another device connected sound or disconnected, usually followed by the opposite sound. There doesn't seem to be a pattern to the sounds, but if anyone knows what's happening I really need help with this as it's the only phone I was able to afford and if it's bricked I don't know if I have the money for another one. Thanks

Lol no wonder your phone doesn't work anymore. You flashed the beta to the OP 3 onto your 3T. Use this to fix your phone.
Edit: Sorry if this was of use to some people when it was deleted.

I tried to use that thread, but my phone wouldn't show up underneath Unknown Devices, in fact unknown devices would never come up at all. my pc is still in test mode from this :/
Don't worry if it doesn't appear under unknown devices. Just use the tool. A lot of what the instructions say is unnecessary. Just make sure that when you plug in your phone that one of the ports becomes "active" (I haven't had to use this tool in months, so I'm not sure exactly what it's supposed to say exactly) and press the start button.

ok. I 'll download the tool and get back to you after trying it.
edit:that worked! you are my new favorite person.
thank you so much )))))))))

WHY IS THIS DELETED? IM having the same problem what did you do please save me as well
Sounds like you flashed the wrong version of Oneplus 3 firmware to your phone. Do you have a 3 or a 3t? If you flash the incorrect one you will get exactly the unbootable state you describe. In that case you will have to use Qualcomm MSM Downloader tool to flash back the correct ROM and firmware partitions to get it running again. Just download the correct MSM recovery package for your phone and follow the instructions in the thread.
Hi,
So its been about 5 years since I have played around with this kind of thing and of course my first go at trying it again turns out a disaster.
I was flashing my Samsung S10 (SM-G973F, I was trying to root with magisk) and half way through the installation failed due to I think the cord being dodgy.
It kept coming up on the screen to go on smart switch and do emergency software recovery. Problem was my phone wasn't being picked up by Smart Share even though I have all the drivers.
Eventually I somehow got it so that I could just go into the normal download mode again, and try flashing it again.
It all seemed to go great then the phone would only go between the Samsung logo and something else (forgot).
I got out of that somehow (took hours), and flashed what I thought must of been the original firmware, I realise now that I didn't do my research enough and have probably gotten the wrong one for it.
Now my touch screen doesn't work, only the bottom of the screen about 2cm from the bottom and it just doesn't respond.
I was wondering, and desperately hoping that someone knows how I could possibily fix this?
Or even just let me know if it's now un-repairable.
Thank you.
Try flashing the latest firmware for your phone in ODIN. You can get it from Sammobile.com I believe.
I would use the tool SamFirm to download the firmware. Sammobile will take 6 hours
Did you try putting the phone in download mode and connecting to samsung smart switch application?
Smart switch should be able to download and flash the correct firmware on your phone.
hello everybody
this redmi note 9 global 3/64 gb was working just fine.
one day the screen became so lagy so i tried to factory reset it then the screen became totaly not responding so i took it to repair shop he said the touch screen was the problem so he replace it, and didn't work so the problem was not in touch screen.
then suddenly the phone got hard bricked i give it to many repair shop and they can't fix it, every repair shop said different storys, one said the problem is in motherboard's circuit, another one said the phone is global but the manufacturer put an Indian motherboard...
i lost a lot of money but the phone is not fixed
then this week i tried to check if the motherboard stills alive so i plug it on my pc then i saw the usb port of this phone on device manager, so i tried to flash it with sp flash tool,, i downloaded miui 13 fastboot rom (the phone was on miui12 before he got hard brick), i install drivers and bypass and i run sp flash tool i load all the settings, when i press start it says "STATUS_DA_HASH_MISMATCH".
i tried everything to solve this, but nothing, i saw many people who got this error message and i tried there solutions but NOTHING!
i'm not going to more repair shops because one of them stole my selfie camera, so this is my last hope.
i hope someone who has experience to help me.

Try mtk auth bypass tutorials on YouTube
the DA file was not compatible with your device, mostly it just work fine with MTK_AllInOne_DA.bin, try looking for DA file that compatible with your device and try flashing it again. or here, https://m929.ru/_pages/mtk_bypass.html
