So right now I have the pixel 3 and want to upgrade to the pixel 5. What issues do I need to know about going into this. My pixel 3 has the terrible constant auto focus when using the camera and the power button is activates when not pressed bringing up the camera and rebooting itself. Does the pixel 5 have issues like this that google doesn't want to acknowledge or patch?

I've had mine since late November and haven't had any issues at all with it.

Thanks for the reply. I love my pixel 3 and want to keep the physical layout, I like having the rear mounted finger print scanner. The pixel 6 looks good but sadly I'm wanting the rmfps. Have you had any issues with ROMs or kernels?

I haven't flashed any ROMs on it, but I did use ElementalX up until I went to Android 12 on the first Developers Preview. @flar2 hasn't updated for that yet afaik, but it worked great on 11. Last I checked he made a blind build that did cause issues on 12. It might be updated now. I should check.

Could that feature be ported to Note 9 or is it a Pixel only thing? I know the camera from the Pixel has been ported to the Note 9. I would really like the call screen.

Not sure if it works, but I think this is what you're after right?
I want the ability for assistant to answer my calls on the note 9! That would be an awesome port!
Probably detects if your phone is a pixel via build.prop or something, like they do for other features.

This is what I am after...

There are some flags you can change in the dialer_phenotype_flags.xml file to partially enable it, the call gets screened, but I cant hear the assistant.
Yes this would be awesome. Someone please port it!
Have you got any solution?.
Anyone figured out a way yet?

I want this!!
a coworker just showed me this feature on his pixel. I know I have been under a rock:cyclops:, but is this possible on the Note 9 yet?
Mike
This is a Pixel exclusive and it's not likely Google well allow it to come to Note 9.

After installing pie build 108, I noticed that Android finally installed a text selecting zoom lens like iOS. Very useful.
Now a week later, it's gone!!
Anyone have any idea how to get it back?
That was the only thing where I thought iOS was clearly better than Android.
Reflaehed... It's back.

Well I'm on AOSIP as everyone who has a pro should be IMHO.
Hopefully pie will bring it in.

Is it working with the google camera app?
I think I will just bite the bullet and buy a pixel 3 xl. I really hate this phone.

The P20 Pro camera app works just as well. There is a variant for the Google camera app but it's nowhere near as fluid as the pro one.
I have no need for the Google one personally, besides the odd gallery blip, it's perfectly fine..
I just got the Pixel 5 and I'm curious why some games are showing up full screen but most cut off the left side right under the notch? Is there a way to fix this or is it on the developer? It's odd because on my S20 Plus the same games play full screen with no issues so it seems to be a Pixel thing?
Still no solution? Got a Pixel 4a and this is exactly my problem aswell..how bad.

It's not just games. A lot of apps do that in landscape as well, like Google Maps and Telegram. There's a new Magisk module that fixes it though.
Download the module from here.
Flash it with Magisk Manager and reboot.
Go to settings > Developer Options and scroll down to "Display Cutout" and choose the Pixel 5 option.
That's it, no more black bar.

See my reply above. This mod will work for you too, but the Pixel 5 option might not work as well as the OnePlus FHD choice. Try them both to see which works best.

No forum/thread yet. It's new and not released officially. Here's the github for it though: https://github.com/logmd/N3O-No-Nonsense-Notch-Overlay/
Hi. Do you know if this a Pixel, Android 11, or Apps problem?

It's built into the Pixel 5/ 4a to hide the front facing camera hole

Wow. It is ugly and annoying. It looks like Google is not even trying to fix it. Since I just bought my Pixel 5, I only have 2 choices to fix the issue. Return the phone and get a different brand or root my new phone to fix the problem.
So much for pure Android experience.
I have this battery option that I don't know what is for and what it does, it has appeared after the November update.
It seems like a bug.

I believe that is the new battery sharing option that comes with the Pixel 4a5G & Pixel 5.

Yes I searched it and you are absolutely right.
It is a bug that came with the last update.
It will be fixed with the next update.
Thank you.
It can be closed now.
HI I am on MIUI Global 12.0.3 (QFKMIXM) Stable ROM 10 QKQ1.190825.002 and this week, my phone suddenly is not able to receive calls which happens intermittently, sometimes I can receive calls, sometimes not, but so many people called me this week (food deliveries, package deliveries, surgery call for my Wife) and they all said that yes they did call me and that I did not even receive an SMS or Missed Call notification.
I don't know if this symptom is related to finally making a XIAOMI account and logging into it via the phone's main settings.
Also I noticed since then, while rebooting the phone I get this notification that XIAOMI services could not be activated on both SIMs 1 and 2
This to me is a sad spectacle, I had this phone for about one year now and I admit to having it dropped a few times.
What could be the issue here guys? Would like to know if this is SIM carrier related or purely a manifestation of a hardware failure?
Damn, I don't want to buy a new phone.
PS I opted out of the Beta versions of Google Phone App and Messages
Anyone who have experienced this? please help and chime in??

Really? Seems like the only way right? Which ROM did you install bro? Are the pixel roms versions worth it or lineage os?

Sorry bout the late reply, I got pixel experience rn but tbh use whatever, and I would say its worth it just be careful if it's ur first time, don't break your phone. Pixel ROMs feel hella snappy and smooth.
