Hi From Florida - Introductions

Looking forward to learning from you guys. Love the forum, well done.
Started selling & building websites in 2004 (till 2015). When I started all screens were 800 x 600, 1st question from every business owner "Why do I need a website" and I could have a new local website listed on Google top 5 search in 48 hours, just with proper keywords. Times have changed.
Thanks for accepting me into your community.
Ron

Welcome to XDA Enjoy.

Chicago Android User Group [21+]

Hey all.
Ive been poke-in around for quite some time and after some input from MrOtsKrad, TheDudesAndroid I think the Android Users of Chicago could use a common stomping ground to meet up face to face, kick it, throw back some drinks and shoot the *Clearing throat* I’ve had a bit of experience organizing stuff like this together so you’ll be in good hands
Whether your a Dev, a themer or a user and over 21+ (we plan on doing this at a pub for now) post a msg here with your general location (North Downtown|Southside) which will serve as a RSVP of sorts for a soon to be announced location for the January 30th, 2010 Chicago Android User Group Meetup
We might get 3 ppl, we may get 30, either way this is just about having some fun.
This thread will be the only one made as after the Meet there will be a dedicated site/forums etc for users to keep up-to-date on locations an time and other social interactions
For now follow us on twitter at: Android Chicago for more updates as they happen
Stay Tuned
Keep me posted. If you guys need a host and a domain etc. let me know. I can do something for you/us etc.
chicago winmo and droid user =) if I have time from school maybe I can come by keep me posted
We should get goin on round 2.
Screw you guys... I'm not 21.

Yeaah... uhmm... soo... what's we finna do in da Chi to be recanized by all dese playa-fied hacking fiends? (Sorry I'm a rapper =D)
If you have anything North (K-Town) lemme know. Just picked up a Nexus Uno and think it's gonna be a fun toy / phone.
West Side

Northside
Wish I were 21 again.
Nexus One, previously X10i, and X1a owner.
@htc: As many noted, my date was a bit confusing. Let's rewind...#HTCCHI is happening on JULY 6th. See you next week!
Better be 14+ and not 21+!

New guy
Hey guys I'm new to the city and was looking for other android guys in town I live on the northside. Was wondering if anyone has successfully been able to root a Droid Incredible. I've been trying for two weeks now with no luck.

Like I already said to someone else, do you prefer 70 random answers or prefer to wait for that guy who will have the knowledge and time to assist you?
Your 2 unanswered threads aren't even 1 day old...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one/help/edit-apns-please-help-t3086193 3.5 hours old
http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one/help/help-soft-locked-assume-phone-t3085798 12 hours old
There are more than 6 millions members on xda, and 52 000 currently online so 70 total views for 2 threads and no answer after a few hours only is nothing outrageous.
All members come here to help for free, when they can (when they have the necessary knowledge to help) and when they have some spare time. Its not like if it was a service you have paid for.
Another thing, with the M8 and M9 released, this device is getting really old. There s a lot less ppl in the M7 forum but still some that come here to help on a regular basis.
Finally, its Saturday. Most pple are spending time with their families, friends, or whatever. So expect to wait a little more.
Hope you understand and that you'll change your mind about xda, still a great community.

Hola Amigos!

Hola Im Jose! Originally from Mexico City but now a citizen of the world. I came here by 1st time back in 2007 to find how to upgrade Windows Mobile onto my beloved and actually working HTC Universal, always loved HTC phones and became more active in XDA. With some time started to write some of the 1st news for the recent launch of XDA Portal, lately was invited to be part of the Mods team in which i had a blast of fun!, I was there to meet in person the mighty old-timer Mods and Devs back in Texas on the infamous Android BBQ 1st editions.
On that time I was so active that some called me "spammer". Getting to the first places of post numbers on XDA....
I quit my regular job back in Mexico and decided to travel the world!, that was when i lowered down my activity in the forums due to obvious reasons...
Then pandemic came and i found myself unemployed and with no chances to travel for the time being....
So.... Im back!!!
Beware high posters, Im coming after you to get my place back!
Looking fwd to engage again with old time amigos around the forums and also to understand the new XDA.
Cheers to all

Intro

Hello everyone! Long time lurker and finally hit an obstacle simply searching all of your great posts couldn't fix. I've been on android since my first smartphone while living in South Korea in 2010. I'm a tech savvy aircraft mechanic who built computers as a kid back when you had to manually find your own drivers. Getting ready to switch professions to the IT world with my upcoming military retirement. Looking forward to the interactions on here, hopefully bringing a few unique problems to be solved in the forums.

Welcome to XDA officially!
Glad to have an old timer around.
Thanks for the welcome! @orb3000
I'll try not to yell at the kids on the lawn, lol.

Return to the Forum

I have been a member of the XDA forum in the dim distant past, but have not been on for many years.
I have now been retired for over 10 years and last year moved from Bristol to Swansea and enjoying the local beauty spots, and at the tender age of 75 I spend my time fixing up an old boat and enjoying walks with our rescue dog.
My interest now in this forum is to try and solve a problem with an Android Headset in my car, and I am hoping someone might have some ideas on sorting it out.
Thanks for your interest,
John
