so my brother's phone got bricked for some reason. I tried searching for answers but I can't find answers. I'll be detailed as possible so imma list down the problems
Problems:
1. When turning on the device, it gets stuck on the Samsung Galaxy S logo
2. I can open recovery mode (CWM v3.0.0.5) but then these errors show up:
"E: unknown volume for path [/data]
E: Unable process volume! Skipping...
E: can't mount /cache
E: can't open /volume"
...etc
3. ADB can't see/detect the device
4. Went to Download mode but then Odin does not detect it. (I have the latest drivers from Samsung. I also tried connecting my Note 2 and Odin can detect it. I also tried different cables but none would work)
5. Tried inserting an SD card but i cant seem to find a way to flash from a zip file
6. Also tried restoring but errors appear (see #2)
How it got bricked:
My brother said that he simply rebooted the phone because of lag and that happened.
I'm not sure if USB debugging's on before this phone got bricked.
It's running Optimum Jellybean by Likeman and yes it's rooted
Help please (
Dear Experts,
I need your help and Support to get a solution for the issue, I am currently facing.
What went Wrong
1. I bought this phone from one of my friend, which is FRP Locked and I was not able to remove the FRP Lock, though I tried and followed seeing many videos and posts online.
2. Then I used 4uKey for Android application to remove FRP.
3. I made my phone go into download mode, then used the above application to remove FRP. The application asked for the PDA and the required PDA info was not listed. As per the instructions I used the nearly matching PDA info and tried the further process.
4. Every time I tried with various PDA info, it started saying there is no matching data available.
5. Then I removed my phone from USB connection and as soon as I removed it from USB Connection, it started flashing with the following information.
#Reboot Recovery Cause is [BL:Recovery Mode Set by Key]#
E:Failed to mount/cache: Invalid argument
Support Single-SKU
Block-Based OTA
Supported API: 3
#MANUAL MODE v1.0.0#
E:Failed to mount /cache: Invalid argument
E:Failed to mount /cache: Invalid argument
E:Failed to mount /cache: Invalid argument
E:Failed to mount /cache: Invalid argument
E:Can't mount /cache/recover/last_locale
(After the above message, screen gets blank and again the same above message flashes and it happens repeatedly)
Solutions tried
1. After searching a lot on internet, i followed couple of possible solutions (all gone in vein)
2. I tried to restart by pressing the Power Button + Volume Down Button, it goes to the the position where it shows the Samsung Logo with Model Name and keep repeating the same, until I keep holding the button combination.
3. I tried to restart or to go the recover/reboot menu by pressing Boxy Button + Volume Up + Power Button, nothing happens.
4. I found somewhere, someone had posted that wait until the battery drains out and the phone gets powered off, then restart the phone it will work. That also did not work.
I could not attached the Image and Video for your reference. Not sure, how to attach. Please let me know, how to attach.
Kindly help me with the best option to resolve the issue. I have got Odin 3.13.1 installed. I have ReiBoot for Android available. None of these works, as the phone does not get into the Download mode or reboot mode.

Dear All Respectful Professional,
I didn't flash any custom/stock ROMS before this. The phone started to stuck at boot loop during my last restart. During that time, I realise my phone got a bit of lagging/unresponsive touching so I decided to hold the power button for a while and chose restart. This is where my phone started to keep on rebooting to SAMSUNG Logo at first, after several times of reboot It keeps constantly reboot before SAMSUNG Logo appears.
I try to do a soft reset which is power button + volume down, where I thought this might help but end up nothing as well. So I am trying to boot into recovery menu which is power button + Bixby button + volume up, but nothing happened. So far there are only two types of a button which remain functions which are (Soft Reset & Download Mode) the rest no matter what am I trying to press it just won't do anything.
The phone will boot and stuck in a boot loop for like 1 minute above than the recovery menu will appear itself, but the problem is the recovery menu only last for few seconds before I try to press wipe cache, etc in the menu and reboot to boot loop logo ( SAMSUNG Galaxy Note 8).
From there I try to search through the internet where I found some guide regarding flashing stock ROM could help to revive my device. I flashed the device through Odin and by that time the status in Odin is PASS, but the phone reboot again during the loading status load till 32%. Than overall it's the same again, every time it reboots it will stay on boot loop for like 1 minute above and a blue screen with status bar load till 25% says error and goes in recovery menu for few seconds, it reboots again itself. I try to provide details below, appreciate if anyone can try to help up.

Hi, i just got in to same issue. Have you found any workaround or fix for this ?
Any guidance will be helpful
Hey, I got the same problem here out of nowhere...
Hello.
Strangely, I have the same problem after applying the latest firmware update OTA.
I had the odd 32% stuck, then erasing. Now I can only go into download or recovery mode. I tried everything (factory reset, wipe cache), something like 10 firmware flash (3 versions, downloaded 3 times).
Sometimes I can boot to the installation process, then my Note randomly freeze.
I guess the Note is "dead". As FRP is on, I can't try a custom ROM, juste in case.
But I can't get it out of my head that it's due to the update. I don't believe in coincidences.
Hi guys, so all of sudden when I was trying to use my note 5 (no root), I noticed that it was powered off and I couldn't power it on with power button. Can you please tell me if there is a way I can recover data on my phone without losing them? I also have Google Authenticator which is connected to many accounts online, If I lose data I will lose everything! Here is what I tried so far:
First thing I did was a soft reset ( power button + volume down) and the mobile turned on but unfortunately it kept looping on the Samsung logo screen. Then I tried to go to recovery mode (power button + home button + volume up) and from there I tried "reboot system now", "wiping cache partition (which I hope it doesn't remove any data?)" and "Run graphics test: which failed with error no command and then wiping cached data" all of them without success. One thing I noticed in the bottom section of recovery mode there are these errors:
No Support SINGLE-SKU
Supported API: 3
dm-verity error...
E: failed to mount / system (Invalid argument)
anyone?
Your nand is dead. get a new board, they're like 35 usd...
Why do you think the nand is dead? The phone is still working.
Hello.
Yesterday I was copying a file to an external disk. But I didn't look at the charge percentage, I'm out of charge. And I couldn't pick up the phone again.
But I was able to enter TWRP and Download mode.
I tried to wipe System, repair System, change file system of the System but just some errors like: E: /system not mounted and when I click System in mount menu nothing happened.
And I flash Stock ROM to my phone. Then TWRP was gone but the blue "system update" screen came up. After a few seconds, some text started to appear on the screen.
I found someone using the same phone as me and getting the same error:
Note 5 bricked after update
Symptoms: Turn phone on it goes to System updating and then spits me out at a black and white screen with messages of stats failed efs mount. Then proceeds to reboot and the process repeats it's self until the battery dies. What i've done to...
