Question 12.5.2 global - no media player notifications - Redmi Note 10 Pro

Just bought a redmi note 10 pro and updated the OS to 12.5.2. The issue I have is that whatever media app I use (spotify, xiaomi music, podcast addict..), there is no media player notification, I have to enter into the app each time I want to play/pause.
All the settings seem to be OK:
- at OS level the setting for each app has the "Player" notification ON
- at app level, the notification settings allow for player notifications
All other notifications for these same apps do work (for example, new podcasts downloaded).
I could not find other people posting about this issue, I am the only one? any idea on how to solve it?

I had the same problem. I had lock screen notifications to Don't show at all. Changing lock screen notification to show but hide contents or show notifications on lock screen solved the issue and the controls started showing up in the notifications. Maybe you have the same problem.

same problem here, any solution?

Same issue for Redmi 9 Pro on 12.5.1. This can be partially worked around by enabling lock screen notifications. There'd still be no icon in the status bar, but at least the controls would appear.
I've seem someone claim this is fixed in 12.6.

Hey friends, how are you? Try this to see how it solves you

turn off "do not show notifications at lock screen", select any of the other two options and it'll work fine

You can try this method

App info > other permissions > allow app to show permanent notification. This fixes the issue in my case.

Spotify and Netflix Lockscreen controls disappear after a while

Hi,
the Spotify and Netflix lockscreen controls are not working very well on my P9.
At least they appear on my lockscreen after the last EMUI Update. But using them still isn't very satisfying.
My current problem: When using Spotify or Netflix the controls disappear from the lockscreen after 30 min or something. Even if the music or Movie is still running. This especially happens if I stream to Chromecast or Spotify Connect. have to unlock my phone, open Spotify or Netflix and reconnect.
Both apps are given full lockscreen rights and excluded from automatic shutdown after screen lock.
Why is that and how can I get the apps to stay on the lockscreen as long as music/movie is running?
Netflix has android app? I cant find it, possiby unavailable in my country.

Note 9 Notifications Question

I came from a note 8 to a note 9 and it seems like the default system notification sound is over riding the default APP SPECIFIC notification tone. Example...the offer up app, when you receive a message, it plays its own default app sound notification, the ESPN when an alert comes through, it should play the espn alert sound on notifcations. on my note 9, those app specific tones are over ridden by my default system sound notification, tone. Another example is the facebook messenger and letgo app, each app plays their own respective tone when i get an alert/message, but a majority of other apps default to the sytem default tone. this is driving me insane, please tell me there is a fix for this. i have already tried uninstall and reinstalling the ESPN app and still no luck.

Notification's sound over music

Hello everyone,
Every time I'm listening to music on my MI9 and I get a notification (from WhatsApp or other apps) the music volume goes down for the time of the notification and then goes up again. So if I get 10 notifications the volume of the music I'm listening to goes down and up 10 times in a row... Ugh... It's insane... I can't peacefully listen to music while I drive, for example...
Is there a way to shut off the notification's sound while playing music, or to not let the volume of the music apps going down (It also happen with Amazon music app, not only with the default player).
Thank you for your wise advices
P.s. Phone is not rooted

Hi, I think it's default "correct" behaviour (or could be a bug * working as intended *) on stock MIUI...
You could try to change the ring behavior, i.e. change to DND mode or something ?
As for me, I would recommand taking the time to flash something like Xiaomi.eu rom (can find a lot of info here on XDA), or another custom rom based on MIUI.
That fixed sooooo many of those stupid things with the stock rom, that are just working the way Xiaomi likes, but won't make sense in my opinion (see the notification icons that disapear in favour of the clock on the status bar, even if you don't dismiss them, etc.)
You don"t have to root after but really that's a must I think, it made me keep the phone, haha!

Screen off music gestures.

Is there a way we could control Spotify with the screen off music gestures? In Real-me we can only access the built-in music app with those, while in OnePlus you can also control Spotify using the same.

I've asked Poweramp developer about it, he said the phone manufacturer has to support it. Then I asked Realme about it and they said app developer had to support it, so I guess Realme doesn't allow it. Very stupid indeed.

Question Music autoplay when connecting Galaxy Buds

Every time I take out my Galaxy Buds Live and put them in, my S21 ultra automatically launches YouTube Music. Then i inadvertently tap the bud while I'm adjusting and it starts playing music. I don't want this and would prefer to disable the auto launch. I've checked in the settings for Galaxy Wearable and YouTube Music and don't see it. Anyone know how to stop this?
Youtube Music > settings > Allow external devices to start playback
disable that, should be good.

For now I've uninstalled and reinstalled YT Music and it seems better so far. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

Go into Wearables and check settings there*.
Maybe app permissions for Utube.
Lol, I keep that app disabled.
I use Poweramp which will do the same but it can be disabled in it's many settings.
Very annoying when you don't want it...
* if nothing else works you can disable the Buds touch controls in Wearables... the full nuke option
