Hi.
I'm having bit of a problems with my SGS in last couple days; i'll give you last example, but same thing is happening last couple days:
- yesterday I have fully charged my phone; I have disconnected it form charger before I went to sleep.
- today in morning (8h later), phone was turned off
- when I turn it on, I got message to connect it to charger, because battery was on 15% (from 100% to 15% in 8h on standby)
- because this thing was happening last couple days, I have made sure that I didn't leave any apps running in background, that will be able to drain battery that fast.
- I opened settings and take a look at battery statistics;
Cell standby was over 70%!!
When I click on it, it says "Time without signal 70%"
So basically, he has drained almost entire battery by searching for GSM signal. But I have full GSM signal all the time.
But what's the weirdest thing; now that I'm awake, phone will work normally all day; it will last on those 15% almost whole day on standby.
But when i'll go to sleep, ti will start to go crazy over night.
And it's no a problem that he drains almost entire battery over night (it is, but not biggest); problem is that he powers off, so I can miss some important calls in morning (this is my business phone).
do you use a taskkiller? If so, stop using it for a while to see if things improve.
Have you upgraded to Froyo?

I use task manager, and he is "manual" task killer; so I don't have any automatic task killers.

A week ago I made factory reset and clean up my phone, because I had installed bunch of stuff there that I didn't need, and this was faster solution then unistalling one by one app.
I have then rooted my phone (it was rooted also before factory reset), and I have installed voodoo lag fix (before I had one click lag fix).
After that I setup my phone with just stuff I use, and it was working brilliantly till last couple days; only thing that I can remember that I have installed in last couple days was update for angry birds.
One user on Samsung galaxy forum suggested that I switch on flight mode, and than turn it off. Now I will see if this will help; apparently this resets GSM radio.
Voodoo has always been known to kill batteries. I got 8hours on single charge when I was on voodoo. No big deal

Hi all,
I've got an annoying issue on my O2x. Sometimes when I leave it in standby for a long time (>30mins) with the screen off, the battery percentage freezes and I can't make or receive calls/sms; also mobile data stop working. If I try to activate flight mode, nothing happens. I have to reboot the phone.
Example:
Yesterday I went to sleep (battery: 73%).
I woke up after 6 hours (battery: 71%).
I used the phone for ~2 hours (battery: still 71%).
Then I noticed that Mobile Data were disabled (can't enable it) and signal was fixed to 3/4 bars (even if I tried to go somewhere w/o phone signal - still 3/4).
Tried to make calls, send sms but can't (battery: still 71%).
Tried to turn on airplane mode, it disabled Wi-Fi but nothing else happened (battery: still 71%).
At the end I had to reboot the phone. At boot, battery was 17% (the true percentage, I suppose) and everything with mobile data/signal was ok. Then I received 7-8 messages from people that tried to contact me during this "issue" time. :\
This crappy thing is happening like once a day, so please help me!!
(I'm running Leaked v20o with BB725, but I had the same issue through Topogigi/Thanatos/CM/v20L with different BBs/RILs!)
I have the same problem. Battery freezes at 37%, and I can't receive/make calls. If I reboot the phone then the battery start to show the correct charge. This happens every day. It sucks.
Well, at least I'm not the only one...
Someone told me it could be an hardware problem (battery).. So I think I'll buy a new battery as soon as possible and try... :S
I had the same issues when I upgraded my phone to the official Gingerbread release. Prior to that I was on Topogigi's ROM, which is GB as well, and never had similar problems using two different basebands (but I honestly don't remember what number they were). When I switched to CM7 I never faced this issue again, so I don't think it is a hardware problem.
Hello, i have my htc one a couple of weeks now and from the first time i noticed paranormal battery drain activity!
So first i tried to turn everything off it didn't help, more analyticaly:
Energy Saving Mode = On
Beats Audio = on
Brightness = 1st of the three brightness modes
Wifi = off
GPS = off
Location Services = off
Accounts Sync = all off
HSDPA = on and off after done using data
Apps running in the background = i closed each and every one immediately after done using them
Blinkfeed = completely off
Then I tried to reset battery memory by completely let the battery discharge and recharge overnight twice, i have seen no improvement.
When i surf or facebook i can see the battery meter to drop down 1% almost every 2 minutes or so, some times less with the above mentioned settings.
Also i have noticed that in standby with everything off there's still significant battery drainage.
I kept the best for last, just 10 minutes ago while connected on my computer via usb cable, fully charged at 100% with green led on top for more than an hour i just did a reboot, and after the reboot with the usb cable still connected i saw the battery 99% ?????? After what, a reboot and still connected to the usb and charging ? WTF?
Device info:
HTC one 32 gb bought from Vodafone Greece
android version 4.2.2 stock
software version 2.24.401.1
kernel version 3.4.10-g445d072
On top of that, it seems that my device also has the blue ghosting noise camera bug on low light enviroments.
My emotions are like; I love and hate this phone at the same time.
I'm afraid using my phone's capabilities due to serious battery drainage!!
Any thoughts ?

Try this app to see if you have an app installed that is draining your battery.
My first One had a bad battery - would only last for half a day.. the phone I have now lasts a day or more.

it depends on how you use your phone and how much time it has been turned on. If your phone has been on for more than 24 hours then 3 hours of screen is fine. But yeah maybe you should do a factory reset and install gsam to monitor your battery stats and the apps that are sucking your battery. I have noticed that facebook chat drains the battery too fast.

I think you live in a sunny place, if you do than 2.5 hours is sort of normal at full brightness, if you want 5 or longer you need to set the brightness way lower but I think that sort of dimishes the beauty of the screen, enjoy it on auto-brightness

What nonsense?!
70% of my screen time is medium. I rarely use my phone in the sun.
I usually get around 2.5 screen/<14 total hrs. That's not normal? My phone's not set up right? Yay!
Or maybe it's the facebook. My auto sync is off, but I will disable the FB apps and see how that goes.
I actually do have GSAM, and it tells me that my kernel uses ~25% of my power. Android system is usually ~15%. Is that normal? If so, I may try a backup/reset.
Screen uses ~10% of power and main app is Chrome, with little to no Maps/Voice in a day.
A quick report after factory reset seems like that my battery is somewhat normal
1day 7hours and I still have 34% remaining
Use: half standby half normal use
I have the Dev Edition 64Gb One and I'm getting just 12 hours! I have autobrightness on, Greenify taking care of all the apps I don't use so frequently, not using maps/location services. I noticed each time I enter recovery, I have like 4% less than what my phone says and if I turn it on I have now what the bootloader said! Weird, and I was shocked to see this when I red a lot of people were having fantastic battery life.
Also, as I'm so lucky, mine has the blue/red thing in the camera, and a small gap in the top. It seems I got the All-(Problems)-In-One One..

Try with InsertCoin + Elemental kernel, with no pocketdetection or sweep2wake etc. and the recommended undervolting in the aroma installation
That gives me like 5.5 hours of screen with the phone turned on for 20+ hours and wifi: 6+hours, all of this with an average usage
hello again I noticed a rather peculiar thing regarding battery drainage.
couple of days ago when I reported that my battery was somewhat normal I had my phone charged with energy saving mode off I charged this way two times since the factory reset. Everything was normal I was able to get one+ day of use. Yesterday though I charged my phone with energy saving mode ON and I immediately noticed abnormal battery drain as before.
Can anyone with battery drain problem try to fully charge their phone with energy saving mode off and post their results?
I have a strong feeling that there is a bug or something.
My problem is, the phone is fully charged. i disconnect the charger and a few seconds later the battery is between 96% and 93%. I connect it to the charger, charge it back to 100% (led green) disconnect it, and the same happens again.
I already let the Phone discharge to 1%. The same happening again.
Someone any idea? thx
Same problem here, just sent it in to HTC for camera repair, got it back. Then battery problems. Sent it back because of the battery, still crappy. 32GB Unlocked. I get 10 hours at most on idle, everything off.

Go to setting>mobile data>network mode select something else than LTE and reboot your phone. Then select back Lte and reboot your phone.I had the same problem. I found this on other forums and this helped me a lot.
I have a HTC One 32 gb Three UK.
I have exactly the same problem with the high drainage.. before I could get easy 5-6 hours screen on throughout the day. now it even don't lasts a half day.. no change in my apps or settings/kernel.. really weird problem. I think it has to do with the hotness of the Phone and the purple camera fault. Don't know what to do anymore!

Almost 4 days here but have a tendency to charge when reaching 20% to avoid going flat wrong time
Usually get around 3-4 days. With brightness at 5 and the gesture on. But I turn it off when I go to bed

Got with first charge 6.5 days. 3 days (only watch) and 3 days (watch/pedometer/heart rate and so on). Got about ~10% battery left yet. With brightness at 4 and no hand gesture.
65% battery left in two days of use. (i guess 4-5 days in single charge)
brightness level 4
motion detect on.
3 Days to 20%
Motion on
Brightness:2
Notifications: Hangouts, SMS,Gmail, Woot
how do you set it to sleep mode ?
I'm only getting 18-22 hours when paired with my Galaxy Note 3. What is wrong? Brightness is 3 and motion is on. Just a few notifications activated.

Samsung apps version or mix of version, I sorted that by removing every bit of samsung apps on my z1 and then reinstalled only GearManager1_2.apk. Now back to 3-4days depending on the time I spent on the phone with the gear
my phone use is here and there calls, if i have along time call im using my phone.
also notification: facebook, skype, whatsapp etc..
after 7pm when im home i'm switching the phone off and open it at 7am in the morning. brightness X 4, motion detect on, all of that is 4 days plus in use single charge.
my phone is s4 zoom.
I'm at about 75 hours or so (just over 3 days) with 40% battery still remaining. I have text, email (push from Exchange), phone, Google and Skype notifications being pushed to the watch. I'm using the weather clock face. Brightness is at 3, the gesture is off. I don't turn the phone or watch off at night, although the screen isn't being used all night because I'm sleeping.
I guess my watch is defective then. I can't even get it to work for 24 hours. What could it be? My Note 3's battery seems unaffected, though.

Not sure if this is really hardware issue. Mine went from 100% to 20% in about 5 hours. Samsung replaced as defective without asking any further questions. However the new one behaves similarly. This morning 100% to 88% in mere 40minutes... Then I switched off BT on phone - no change on Gear battery level in the next half hour.
So I suspect this is rather something on the phone. I started discovery with Samsung customer service. I will see what happens.
Any idea from anyone? I have a Note 2.

I know for a fact that I can barely squeeze 2 days out of the battery (so compared to 3 or 4 days easy for others, seems like something is wrong). If I turn bluetooth off, it seems like (based on 10 hours or so with it off) that I could go over a week, so I'm guessing it has something to do with my phone's bluetooth connection or a bug with something on the phone. I have an s3. Definitely let us know if they find out what the problem is.

As an Idea, as I had an issue with the gear 1, go to the gear 1 forum and get the 1.6 version of the gear manager and see if that helps. I am using the latest gear manager with the note 2, but I had major issues with the gear 1 and installing 1.6 fixed the issues.

I just got the 4.4 update from Sprint yesterday (for my S3). So far, I'm losing less than 1% per hour even with watch connected to phone. Looks like I'll get 3+ days on this run. Problem might be solved! (I'll report back once I've had a few days like this).
Paired with Galaxy Note2.
Brightness on 5.
I don't use the pedometer or heart rate features.
Most of the time I can get almost 2 days.
I've found that some of the watch faces and other apps on Samsung Apps can be real battery hogs.
For example... I tried using "Roman Watch Style" from the app store and couldn't even get a full day out of it. After uninstalling, it immediately went back up around 2 days.
At the end of the 2nd day I usually have around 7% left.
Battery life seems to be fairly consistent. At the end of the 1st day I'm usually just over 50%. By the end of the 2nd, it's borderline dead.
Hi everyone,
I just bought my Gear 2 Neo 3 days ago and expected its battery use can be 3 days or so. I use the watch not much, just received emails and messages notification. I also turn steps function on and... That's it.
But I experience that my Gear 2 Neo battery use just only 1 day or 1 and half day.
Does somebody have experience like this? I think I would return the watch since charging for it every day is annoying me.
Thank you,

There is a similar thread in Gear 2 forum and there people are kind of convinced that it may be a version issue. But there is an issue with watch as well. I disconnected the watch from bluetooth before going to sleep and the battery has come down 4% in 8 hours. Without display and no updates/notifications, no sleep, pedometer etc this is rather too much.
Thanks for letting us know that 4.4.2 the battery is again pathetic.
Any fixes in sight anyone??
You guys must be doing something wrong, I got mine on saturday, gave it its initial charge till it was 100% and today is the first time I have had to charge it, so what's that some 5.5 days, and that's using the sleep function, having it as a silent alarm, using the heart rate monitor every other hour (on a drug that can cause increased heart rate) getting notifications, made 3 phone calls, sent 20 something text (via s-voice).
I have screen set at 2, vibrate (no sound), and on latest fw, it is connected to my Note 3 N9005 running 4.4.2 official ota ROM.

I don't know if we're doing something wrong, but there is a clear difference between results. It may be that the software is optimized for the Note, maybe other apps we've added, maybe the custom rom. . . Whatever --you're getting really exceptional life -don't change what you're doing! :good:
-- I full charged yesterday at about 1:40 pm, it is 10:20am, that ~21 hours (less 20min) and I am at 72%, so about 28% in 21 hours (including going to the gym and going out for the evening and finally an 8.5hour (measured) sleep cycle (watch blocking mode turned on while sleeping and wake up gesture is ON).
-- That's about 1.3% per hour, which would be great. However, my daytime use (Saturday going out and about) will likely be higher.
-- The only difference I did was I switch off Google Now notifications (but switched ON Business Calendar and simple calendar --so I still get my appointments sent) and deleted two apps I am not using (Feedly, eBay).
I would be happy with three days and would put up with 2.5 days; but anything less than two days/48 hours would be too much of a pain in the neck to stop and recharge. Even though I have the hour or so downtime to make it happen, having to pay attention and take that action every 48 would not be what I expected. . .Well. . . we'll see how it fairs without G Now today!

Guys, I think I know where the problem is. Im using GS3 paired to my Gear2Neo. At the beginning my G2N had a very slowly battery discharge. Since two days ago battery gone mad. It went down 4% per hour even I was not using it. Finally, after experimentnig with varios combinations I found that if you uninstall goproviders app (in aplication manager on your phone) you wont be able to receive Instagram, Facebook, Twitter etc notifications but the battery will be back to normal. Ofcourse, I can still receive standard notifications (calendar, sms, email...), make or reject calls. In last 1,5 hour I lost 2-3% of battery with normal usage. For the conclusion, it is not BT but Gear manager bug. Hope they will make this work properly.
I'm still installing goproviders app but the battery is really good right now, 73% used in 75 hours.

I charged the watch to 100% last night and immediately turned it off. I just turned it on ten mins ago and it was at 99% and it immediately went to 98%. I would accept if I had left it on...but it was turned off. I know batteries can loose juice over time, but when it's off that should happen in maybe a full day or 2 days, not in 8 hrs, correct?

With regards to my set up,
I have wake-up set to off (I work in an office and would constantly be on),
I have all notifications off (except call, alarm, SMS etc) only ones I have bar the std is gmail and facebook.
I use the sleep mode with notifications off
No pedo during the day (I have a fitbit one for that)
In my office im not allowed a phone, so as that is left in my car bluetooth is disconnected for about 7hrs a day (not turned off, just disconnected).
I check my heart rate every hour, I know its only a rough guide but still uses battery.
I have noticed since loading the minority report 24hr ultimate watchface (yes it does work, despite what the site says) my battery life has halved, so currently getting 2.5 to 3 days b4 I hit below 20%.
Screen is set to 2.
Notifications set to silent
One other thing to note, I seem to be getting a rash on my wrist, where the contacts on the back of the neo contact my skin. Anyone else getting this??

Thanks for the details!
Wow! you have a very efficient setup --no wonder you are (were) getting such tremendous battery time! ( I need display brightness "3" to use it all day. Also, in the house or in an office, I turn off the motion-to-wake, but outside I do use it. . . )
Your adjustments also makes sense and may be a good part of your savings, since you don't have your phone in the office, and don't need to use the pedometer.
In general, I think that when we get the smart watch our first inclination is to load the watch up and do everything with every possible app! However, after a while, we sort out how we use the watch and can pare back the apps and notifications and make it more sensible, while improving battery life (a bit) too!
From what I have done on my Neo, I agree that using limited, selective notifications -and even selective app loading-- makes a difference in battery life.
I also noticed that different alternative watch faces seemed to drain the battery faster than the default options.
That's why, even after buying/trying several different watch faces; and even after using Breach 's great "create your own watch face thread," [ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2734747 ] , I went back to the stock (weather-time).
As to the rash... wow, I have had no irritation or rash or reaction on my wrist -even after working out with it on and sweating. (Wasn't that a problem with fit-bit or one of the other bands?).
