Question Mobile heating up - OPPO Find X3 Neo

My mobile arrived today and testing the camera in 5 minutes has raised the temperature of the phone a lot, has it happened to someone else?

I was using "My Tracks" and the Oppo became warmer, but nothing I'd call hot.

Nexus 7 Issue Reports

A couple thing's I've noticed, when doing some serious gaming, the unit gets VERY hot. We've seen this before with Teg 3 tablets COUGH*acer*COUGH, but my concern is putting a case on this thing... I'm worried that retaining all that heat might cook the thing's insides.
This will probably resolve itself, but last night I went to bed at ~80% battery, watched a movie, and when it was done, the screen turned off as normal... and when I woke up, the battery was down to 25%. My Razr Maxx had similar issues when new and apparently had to do with the OS calibrating it's battery meter.
What is everyone else seeing on theirs?
Use CPUspy to see if it was deep sleeping? BetterBatterystats to check wakelocks? Mine seems to be sleeping fine, haven't seen mine do anything weird yet
I'm not a serious gamer but I did put my N7 through about an hour of some pretty intensive gaming and it got a little warm like any device but it was never HOT to the touch. Battery life on day 1 was a bit weak but thats because I was too excited and did not give the N7 time to fully charge before playing with it.
Yesterday it was fully charged at around 2pm when I unplugged it.
Went to the library for a little over an hour and mooched their WiFi then went to my friends house.. from 4pm till midnight we were abusing my N7 pretty much constantly... showing off GNow, Maps compass mode, sports scores etc and when I got home around 1am I still had 47%.
Granted, I didn't game at all yesterday or watch much video.. but it was still being used fairly constantly.
Therr are apps that cause your device to wake. I discovered "hangaroo" does this on my wife's evo3d.
Some market apps are that annoying, just uninstall that certain app and the device shouldn't wake up randomly
on xda for android and mistyping like a boss
The only thing on my N7 that wasn't on my other Android devices was Dark Meadow: The Pact... I'm thinking, like mentioned, it's a new device issue that'll resolve itself as far as battery life. The 2nd and 3rd day with my Razr Maxx, I awoke to a dead battery, now it's rocking 2-3 days between charges.
And the heat, well, that was mostly during that Dark Meadows game and that's completely optimized for a Teg 3, so it's abusing all 4 cores plus the GPU portion of the chip. Still, not sure I'd want all that contained in some insulating case.
My Nexus 7 doesn't get hot like you described. My only issue is that the left part of my screen isn't stuck down completely. It pops up while people on reddit are saying is common. Anyone else with this issue here?

Played about two hours of GTA 3 yesterday, it did get 'warm' but not hot.
I think it really depends on how lucky/unlucky you are with the Nexus 7 unit you received. Some people are reporting a dead unit after using it for about 3 hours. Others are reporting dead pixels. And, you're reporting this...
I guess I was lucky enough to not have any of those issues with my Nexus 7.

Banned from sony forum for saying t has heat issue

Does anyone else think that this is stupid. First I create a topic that the t has issues and decided to tell them about one of the experiences I had from sony customer support. It was horrible, they lied in front of my face because I told her the t has heat issues and she said this has not been reported. I then gave her 5 different topics on sony xperia forum and in the forum they said that they will report it. She says there are no reports about it. I then express how disgusted I was about this dangerous phone. And then they ban me. Then they send me an email about I said an xperia play had heat issues when I clearly said xperia t and in the email she said she telephoned me. WHAT? I have not given any number to sony. I urge everyone to not buy a sony phone. No wonder why they are bankrupt.

Well I don't like Sony's customer service all that much either I've owned a couple of Xperia's and I've never enjoyed talking to them but on aanother
Note
Yes the Xperia T gets hot but to me that's not an issue it has over heat controls built-in so try not to worry so much about it.
I don't care the overheat control does not do anything and my phone smells like its going to burn the back off and the phone destroys sd cards. I thought overheat control would prevent this but it doesn't

Sony customer service in my opinion is horrible. My Xperia T worked perfectly for 5 months and then i got a screen with White dots issue. I sent it to the repair center and after 3 weeks i got it back with no accelerometer! I mean that the accelerometer was not detected by the phone and the screen was always vertical with some random rebooting. I sent it back to those idiots and after a week at the repair center they replaced the motherboard and now the screen turns black and doesn't turn on, it happens 4 or 5 times per day, forcing to soft reset the phone... It happens randomly and after flashing other firmwares and "repairing" with PC Companion i didn't solve the issue. I called Sony Xperia Care several times and i sent them an email asking for a new device and finally they told me that this time they'll give me a NEW device.
I mean maybe i got very unlucky but it's unbelievable that they f***** up with the repair twice!! We're talking about Sony, not an unknown chinese brand... I just want a working device! The T is a good phone according to me but i don't think i will buy another Xperia after this experience.

The only time my Xperia t got hot was when trying cyanogenmod roms. I suggest you don't try them if your phone has issues anyway.

Why are you quoting me ? I'm not the one with over heat issues my XT only gets hot after game play and other extensive tasks but it's not an issue.

Either all xperia t's have overheating problem or just mine but whatever. I can get this f****r up to about 38c within 10 minutes of switching on. I will show you how it happens. First switch the phone on, then turn wifi and gps on only, auto brightness then click on the internet browser and browse some pages. This is with stock rom as I cannot unlock the bootloader. Try it it shows the heat problems with the phone and you will see. Sorry for swearing but no other way to describe it.

The only time i have had worries about my phone heating up was running either CM10.1 at one point, or Petres Rom when he change some stuff.
i never have issues normally, so i would say your phone is faulty, and possibly a few others out there, but it's certainly not a major issue with all T's
Just to add my few cents on this subject.
If by "overheating" you mean temperatures about 40 degrees, then I guess it is totally normal behavior, when doing some heavy tasks.
I am also using stock 4.1.2, and I'm not experiencing any abnormal overheating. Yes, sometimes it gets a little bit warmer when browsing the web with Chrome, but it is tolerable. For example, it gets about 40 degrees when I'm playing game for a long time, but never goes much higher than that. Just today I was playing Frontiers for a few hours, charging battery two times today already, and it never got hotter than 40-42 degrees.
Honestly, my last phone, Xperia Arc S, was getting much much hotter on heavy gaming than Xperia T gets now. So I'm not panicking about this at all. Either you're not used to this kind of phone behavior, or maybe your unit is faulty to some extent.
I know 40 is pretty normal but getting it in 10 minutes of switching phone on is not

Well I'm in the same boat in regards to supporting Sony. I feel that they have really let me down. Lack of support in updates and troubleshoot. sorry Sony, but you have hurt my feelings. Good bye

Actually my xperia play overclocked to 1.6ghz gets max 38 so how can an arc s with a lower clock speed get that hot with the same processor as the play
Sent from my LT30p using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
So, you're asking ME how? Ask Sony developers, and hardware manufacturers. Also, you got several threads in Arc forums about heating, so you can check them any time you want. Also, the point of my post is that every phone nowadays is having "heating" issue, as people describe it. I think there are "overheating" threads on 90% of Android devices, here on XDA. Tiny devices, packing powerful processors, with almost no cooling, ofcourse these will get hot with heavy overload. Now back on question, I don't have my Arc S anymore, but I remember that area where cpu is placed tends to be so warm that it's unpleasant holding your finger there. To repeat again, much much hotter than on T.
It is just sony which is the problem. Xperia z1 people said was overheating it goes up to 50c! Galaxy note 3 and lg g2 never get to 50c and all have same processer, same ram (note 3 3gb ram) and they don't get to 50c. This is a lot of owners which have this problem
Sent from my LT30p using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I don't know then. Maybe Sony is heating more than others. I can't really say since I never used any other Android device beside Sony. I know that there are dozens of similar threads on many other devices forums.
All in all, only thing that could make me go away from Sony, is lazy update policy. First with X10, then with Arc S, and now with T. My patience with Sony is coming close to point of no return. I would never switch Sony hardware+design for some other brand, but customer "care" is killing Sony, year after year.

different chip sets, hardware, command lines etc even if you think the chip set is the same as its labelled the same it could well be different its more complicated than that ... take the galaxy ace some CPU's i could get to overclock to 1.4GHz where as others would make 1.2 and alot wouldnt even make that (i have had 8 ace's myself and have modded around 30 for friends who just didnt like the samsung stock) just comparing clock speeds and things like that for example i have a pc with a single core GHz intel processor and a pc with a dual core intel processor at GHz (so that's equivalent of GHz) ..... on that the dual core should get hotter but it gets to around 25 and sits there almost no matter what i throw at it where as the 3.7 single core regularly reaches up to 45 when its just playing a song not even doing anything hard really ..... have tested this on xp, 7 and ubuntu all with the same results ..... going back to the mobile phone my arc s used to reach 42 with heavy use and my T reached around 38 so im not worried about the heat

I do not agree. If I do what you described in one of your previous posts, my V will reach easily 40 C. Especially the GPS sensor is a relevant mA consumer. The power it consumes will be generating heat. The same happened when I was applying a new ROM, the first day the phone was unpleasant warm to hot.
But mine does not smell when hot. If your's does then that would be an easy case to demonstrate live to a customer service person, and the way how you write it, it seems this is easy to replicate. Then why do you bother with quarrelling with them on the net? What do you think, how many people come around a customer service every day with nothing more than a hot fart?
Unless you come up with some new aspects, I am not intending to write any more than that to the issue.

[Q] anyone experiencing overheat on new firmware. 238

Hi all
After installing the new firmware my telephone overheats, it begins to lag in games like Knights of pen and paper. Rayman always have small glitches.
Anyone else having this?

I'm on XP .227 and having overheating issues while using the camera. During games it's pretty fine.
But when recording for like 2 minutes the camera just shuts down due to overheating? Not really sure if it's the same bug. The front is pretty hot, the back is less hot.
Do you have any troubles while using the camera?
I've recorded 20 minutes straight, have never had overheating.

I don't have problems so far with the camera, have not yet been recording video, but I will try that out asap.
Another annoying thing is the touchscreen, sometimes it goes crazy and register my fingers way off...maybe software related.
I would rather wait another month or two and get a brilliant phone..

Yeah me too.. and i probably won't buy a phone with qualcomm CPU in the future
The SD820 is even worse than SD801
I can't even play hitman go while listening to music, it laags like hell.
This should be the fastest processor on the market...
Mine gets hot, battery lasts like the z3. Probably my last Sony phone also, I have had Sony since the arc.
I am disappointed

I have recently updated to the. 238 and the camera doesn't heat up much as before. Gets warm, but not hot.
My main issue is stamina mode has been ruined and instead of my regular 54hrs at 100% battery, I now get 27hrs with the. 238.
Battery to me is everything, thats why i was very happy with my Sony Xperia x performance.
But not anymore.
Also i just checked, my batt was at 70% i tried turning off stamina mode to see how much the change would be, ONE HOUR difference with stamina mode on!
ONE!
VERY ANNOYED!
I got my X performance yesterday....
Immediately I updated it to 35.0.A.1.238 firmware... and did a factory reset
after startup, I noticed the phone heating up slowly to a point where it felt uncomfortable to hold in hand...
so it stopped all restoration from my old xperia, turned off the wifi and everything and put in on charging in Stamina mode....
after 2hrs the phone was good ...no over heating & then continued with the rest of the process...
so all is well now...
any ways, as i did a factory rest I have lost all the pre-loaded Music, Video & wallpapers....
can any having those pre-loaded things, please share with me....
would really appreciate it......

P10 gets quite hot

Hello,
since 4 days I am a proud owner of a Huawei P10. Berfore that I had a HTC One M9, which did good work for me, except two repairs, but due to a new mobile contract I got the P10 now.
Yesterday I was on my way with my bike, using the App Komoot with my phone inside THIS (not sure if available in other languages than german) waterproof bike case. I had my M9 with a cover case around it, in there often and everything was fine too.
But as I came back from my bike ride yesterday I wanted to take the P10 out of the bike case and as I touched it I almost let it fall down because it was so damn hot.
I managed to start CPU-Z on it and it showed a value of 65-70°C (at soc_thermal) A few minutes later it was on a normal temperature again.
Today it tested it again using the Multiview-App-Thing with Komoot and CPU-Z simultaneously and it reached a maximum of 61,9°C (Screenshots attached)
I'm not really sure what causes it to get so hot. It could be the phone itself or the app or the direct sunlight hitting the phone in the closed case.
Is it normal that it gets so hot? Or better, does it damage the phone in any way?
When the camera or navigation are turned on, P10 will be hot, and if it is turned off, it will return to normal .
But is it normal that it gets so hot I can't touch it anymore for some minutes? I mean My HTC One M9 only got that hot when doing a NAndroid Backup
P10 gets very hot, my old Mate 8 never heats up like P10 even when using GPS and camera...
Sent from my VTR-L29 using Tapatalk
Hi guys, I got one step further from what you all mentioned. I took it the day before yesterday to a official service and reported that issue. When I'm taking a photo, and I as many bought this phone especially because of camera, the phone gets so hot it's like 40 degrees Celsius. They tasted the phone and told me nothing is wrong, it works in a proper way and no, you can't use a premium guarantee. So, I think I'll sell it in a near future.
Same here - when taking photos or videos for a bit longer time, it gets noticeably hot. Summer is on the doorstep, so I will try to test if the phone shuts down at all or keeps functioning normal. If it shuts down - will bug the seller with warranty.

Heating Problem

I have owned Asus ROG Phone 2 for abiut 2 months already and after this new update from WW1910.66 version, I think I may have been getting some heating problem on the top left of my phone even after playing some normal poker games. Is it just my phone is somebody else has also got this problem. Please share.

Top left is where your heat vent is. By design, the casing of the phone quickly heats up as it dissipates heat from the internals.
A good measure of how hot the internals are, is to check the battery temperature, you can see it if you swipe in from left when gaming. As long as your battery is below 50 celsius, you're all good, and the phone is working as intended.
