Hello,
I'm lookig for a guide how to twrp, root and install custom rom, on my Mi5 miui 10 global stable.
I'm not newbe I did a lot of flashing on my previus phones Nexus and others. But this time I feel lost. I sit on miui 10 global stable. When I try to to flash twrp I get reroll to mi recovery every single time. All guides I found in the Internet are dedicated to older android versions. Xiaomitool don't help too.
Can someone point me to the right direction? It is time to change rom on my Mi5 finally to give him boost b4 I buy something new.
Best regards

Your bootloader is unlocked, right?
Then you need reboot to fastboot mode and flash latest official twrp via fastboot.
Like
Code:
fastboot flash recovery <path to twrp.img>
Have you tried it that way?

Bootloader is unlocked.
I did it that way but after twrp is installed I reboot and there is no twrp available. Only mi recovery.
To make it easier...
I would like to:
Flash twrp
Flash magisk and root
Flash firmware (why i need this?) Havoc os asks to flash it but I don't know why.
Flash havock os and gapps
Flash some mods for camera and sound
I don't understeand why twrp can't be flashed and I have no idea what is modified firmware for? Do I need this?
Thanks for your time
Try the the xiaomi eu rom guide .
I think you may need its custom bootloader , not the actual rom.
Than flash the firmware required for your custom rom and reboot directly to recovery again from twrp than rom and gapps , I hope that helps
Hi, i had the same problem, try this:
1. Flash twrp as usual(fastboot flash recovery twrp.img and then fastboot reboot)
2. When rebooting, you have to enter at recovery (vol up + power) . Don't allow phone to boot! In TWRP official page, on installation instructions , they say after installation you must enter in recovery to allow TWRP patch recovery rom, because some Roms after boot reinstall original recovery.
3. Now you should have TWRP installed.
If you do
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
and then do
fastboot boot twrp.img
It's simpler and it will boot to recovery and patch the ROM to be permanently installed.

First,fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
and then no reboot your phone, just to hold the key combo (vol up + power), and then you can enter the twrp mode once because the recovery will be changed when your phone has rebooted.
But you can use the only once twrp mode to install the zip .
If you just want to use MIUI 10, you will flashboot twrp everytime when you need twrp to do something.
PS: Forgive me pool English.

Alright so, to properly install twrp I noticed, you have to boot twrp through adb by going to fastboot and typing the command "fastboot boot recovery.img(or however you have named the twrp file you downloaded)" Your phone will boot into twrp. After that, you need through there to flash magisk or generally the root you prefer. Once you've done that boot into your phone, download the twrp app and flash twrp through there. If your phone is not booting for some reason you might have installed an incompatible image or something. If the phone doesn't boot at all and you can't enter twrp, boot twrp using the method I said earlier and restore a backup you have made, then do the process I told you by installing the app and flashing it, and then continue trying to install a ROM. Always be sure that twrp is working perfectly before flashing ROMs.
Hello, I am trying to flash TWRP from this thread on to my Mi 11 it works fine when i use fastboot boot twrp.img and then install twrp using Flash Current TWRP.
But when i then reboot my device miui 12 gets in a bootloop. So i flash miui again to get it working and TWRP is gone and so on.... any fix for this?
Write in those threadd. It is no needed to open new.
I bought a used MI 11 Ultra running Xiaomi EU MIUI 13 Stable. The phone had the stock Xiaomi recovery on it, and I tried to flash TWRP onto it.
After having flashed multiple phones with TWRP and custom ROMs before I have run out of patience with this one. TWRP refuses to work. I can flash it and boot onto it the first time, then boot into MIUI. However, any time after that TWRP is useless and unresponsive. Now I have no usable recovery. I am not flashing anything from it, I'm just trying to make it work.
I am aware of the fact that MIUI 13/ Android 12 does not support flashing by TWRP YET, but this is something I wanted to take care of now before I setup the phone for the first time so that when TWRP adds support for Android 12 then I would have it already installed.
At this point I just want to flash the official/stock recovery on the phone, but I can't find a single thread on that.
I'm also worried about the fact that the phone may ask for the password for the MI account that was used to unlock the bootloader.
What should I do?
Any help would be appreciated.
I may be wrong - but the first thing I'd try is to find a stock package, explore it's assets, find the recovery image and flash it with fastboot.
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
It may or may not work, but I'd try it, before I try going "full-stock" by flashing a complete image.
i have installed aosp gsi android 12 on my device(was miui 13), but android 12 gsis have issue with fingerprint, so i tried going back to stock using xiaomitoolv2 but i couldnt, i get into bootloop.
anyone know a sure and easy way to get back to stock miui 13 or 12.
im a noob to flashing, so pls use babytechtalk.
nvm, my birb brain finally got it. for fellow birb brain to regret using gsi, heres a helpful video.
you wouldnt happen to know a way how to fix it not booting into fastboot recovery or system?
enter into fastboot mode (not fastbootd), and reflash stock fastboot rom via xiaomi adbfastboot tool selecting option update for save your data
