What is going on here?
I upgraded from the mi tv stick, i used to play 900p 60fps with few lost frames (0% to 3-4%) in hvec at around 20mbps and reasonable lag, usually under 40ms total.
I was expecting an upgrade but the much more capable chromecast is struggling. At 1080p i have a massive 50% lost frames and lag is almost doubled at 70ms, reducing resolution does not help, hvec or h264 is about the same, 30 fps is terrible and the imput lag increase even more.
I tried rainway (an alternative software to stream games locally) and it is even worse, struggling to reach even 20fps.
The stick is 4k60 capable and stadia runs very well on it, plex can stream very high bitrates without issues but any kind of local game streaming is absolutely unusable.
I had the same problem. Disable hardware encoding in "Advanced Host Options".

Was at my daughter's school Christmas concert and I had a chance to play with video - I wanted to see how well 4k handles digital zoom, since I don't have a 4k display to take advantage of the native resolution.
I was quite surprised :

CBS and FOX use 4K cameras at NFL games because when they zoom in 4x for a slow motion replay, the video will still be HD.

I believe you can zoom up to 3x in 4k and still keep it in full HD.
Looking at more footage I took, I think I'm going to keep it on 4k ... the only downside is that the files are HUGE!

Hi-Res being disabled at software level : http://forum.powerampapp.com/index....alpha-build-701/&do=findComment&comment=32156
(Second FAQ)
So this means what? The same thing as it did with the n5 for the always listening feature google did not buy the license for?

This is interesting, if the DAC supports it then why is it disabled on software level
I worked in audio and did my MSEE in the area of signal processing and digital recording.
I doubt the noise floor and performance of a phone warrants 192K and 24Bit.
Even if you have the DACs, I can't believe the analog of a phone is up to par.
I highly doubt the S/N performance of any of these phones is in the +100dB range.
You get 6dB of dynamic range per bit, so anything beyond 17 bits in this application is useless anyway.
I suspect the high resolution is turned off because based on the rest of the system, you gain nothing.
Oh, I forgot. Flame retardant suit on.
Why after updating to android 11 screen resolution changed from 1644*3840 to 1096*2560?

Did you officially received this update?
It was my understandig that the phone automatically adjust resolution when needed. Maybe this app defaults to 1096x2560 ? Or the app is just incompatible to Android 11
If you open Device Info HW then it is 3840x1644
I got the update today. And the resolution has been reduced. (But unfortunately not 120 Hz.)
The phone only is 4K when the app supports it , these apps don’t pick up the changes ... Netflix is 4K and so is you tube to name a few .... it’s normal no way would you have decent battery life if it ran at 4K all the time
Droid Info already showed the FHD+ resolution 1096x2560 on Android 10 for my US XQ-AT51. Device Info HW however shows the 4K resolution in the GENERAL tab, and the FHD+ in the SYSTEM tab.
did you unlock bl ? if you say yes similar happened like me (Xperia 1) after locked and official update android 11 . attached it
Hi, I switched to an LG Velvet a few months ago, however, instead of getting rid of my old Huawei p20, I instead converted it to my dedicated media streaming device. Specifically, I use it exclusively with my CRT television as a means to stream 4:3 content from my server through the VLC app. Overall, I absolutely love it, however I have one minor issue that I hope to resolve. My problem is that despite the phone's settings toggled to disabled all sleep functions, the phone when in desktop mode/EMUI, when not in use for a prolonged period of time will display the lock screen on the actual desktop screen, while the phone itself will appear unlocked, meaning I'll have to physically get up and toggle/cycle the on button.
Using my bluetooth mouse does not seem to work for the lock screen either. I was wondering if there was any way to remove this screen entirely or a custom rom that is better suited for a streaming/desktop mode in mind. I rather like the EMUI GUI which scales pretty well to a 4:3 ratio, so anything similar, minus the lockscreen nag would be ideal. I've attached a screenshot of said screen.

Never update especially when new phones come out. They are just slowing down the phone so you will be obligated to get new ones.

it may feel that way to you but it's not true.
Nothing much, almost no new functions except the privacy centre and those useless color palletes.
Phone feels laggy if you have animations disabled. The 120Hz while powersave hack no longer works and I miss this menu (OneUI2).
I'm waiting for lineage OS
