FAQ:
HOW DO I GET LOGS SO WHEN I COMPLAIN I'M NOT COMPLETELY IGNORED OR SHAMED BY OTHER USERS?
To get logs while in TWRP, you should connect your device to your PC and use adb.
adb pull /tmp/recovery.log
adb exec-out dmesg > dmesg.log
This will create 2 files in the directory your shell is currently in, recovery.log and dmesg.log. You will need to upload these somewhere such as a pastebin or Google Drive. You can also attach it to your XDA post (recommended!)
If you are having an operating system boot issue, you should gather a ramoops log instead. Do this while in TWRP after the failed boot:
adb exec-out "tar c /sys/fs/pstore 2>/dev/null" > pstore.tar
MY RECOVERY KEEP GETTING REPLACED WITH STOCK RECOVERY... WHAT KIND OF MAGIC IS THIS?
The file: /system/bin/install-recovery.sh present in stock system is responsible for that.
You can simply stop this from happening by deleting it or renaming it to install-recovery.sh.bak using any root explorer or via TWRP (Advanced -> File Manager).

Nice
Praying for good developers working on Mi6
Thx for TWRP
thanks
Thanks a lot for your work.
Any comparison to ValoXis / cofface version?
Thanks
Thanks a lot for your work!
Can I disable dm-verify with this revovery when using official MIUI rom?
Can not be backed up
.nice thank you !
Maybe lineage is next ? ?
Any reason why it asks me for a password?
Thanks!
Yeah, Parth its here
Now it's time to xiaomi to release kernel sources
Successfully re-flashed from ValoXis version via official TWRP app.
Thanks Strix!
Tried to restore from backup, This is the thing what I backed up :
1. Backup1 : boot, recovery, EFS
2. Backup2 : system, system image, data, cache
I tried to restore from backup2 first from failing the installation of China dev ROM. Wipe system, data, cache, dalvik, and do the backup.
It's booted okay (it uses the custom boot animation I picked), but at the end / near the end of the boot animation, there's low battery sound played, then the device is switched off.
Tried again to wipe everything, restore backup2, then backup1, I got the same "low battery" sound notification.
In the end I had to reflash Xiaomi.eu ROM and start fresh.
So what actually happened there?
Hello, after installing twrp this one does not stay, do you have a solution? thank you
Thanks a lot for your work!
I hope Sagit can get recovery by ZCX
Sent from my Xiaomi Mi 6 using XDA Labs

Also for some of you've have been wondering,
MY RECOVERY KEEP GETTING REPLACED WITH STOCK RECOVERY...
Twrp Backup Process Steps:
1. Download TWRP.7z
2. Unzip Twrp with 7zip program then make sure the pathway looks like this D:\TWRP\BACKUPS\LGMP26016c6f013\2016-12-31--20-18-59_NRD90U basically put it on the root of the sdcard or if you don't have one just connect phone in twrp mode by putting it on mtp and put it on the root of your internal storage and then go to restore in twrp
TWRP BACKUP Contains:
1. UI, Ringtones, Notification Sound Changes (Apple Sounds & Emojis iOS 10.2)
2. Boot Animation Is Google
3. Google Assistant Added As Well As The Pixel Launcher And Other Features
4. Removed Most Bloatware And Some Other Apps
6. 7. Install UPDATE-unSU-signed.zip first then reboot system to check if it boots normally after that just take the battery out put it back in and hold the power button and volume down and wait for the lg logo and release power button and hold it again and install SR5-SuperSU-v2.78-SR5-20161130091551.zip and then you have root!

I Mean It Definitely Would Restore On Your Device However Your Data Connection Wouldn't Work Because It's A Metro Modem Flashed Instead Of T-Mobile
What kind of apps were removed? and can I go back to normal if I dont want this backup anymore? will it erase all my data?
my worthless T-mobile one refuses to enter recovery
wont work too vague
the 2nd step is too vague. Iam trying to follow step to but it isn't very specific. can you explain it with a little more detail. please

I have built a stock rooted rom, but it will not complete the initial setup. Its as if there is no data when it shows 4g lte of wifi, strange.
And what about sim lock? Is this ROM unlocked?

Your asking 2 questions thinking they are related. The rom is unlocked meaning you can change it if there was a rom for it bootloader is unlocked so tou can modify the recovery bit sim lock is another thing they are not related in any way shape or form. If tour asking id it can be sim unlocked then yes it can be but that proceas is not like flashing a new rom to make that part work sim unlocking would work on the ohone on stock or not that just depends on who you got the phone feom like tmobile or metro tjey have presequets on how to sim unlock or you pay someone to do it for you
So in other words just because you have custom recoveey or rom or not sim unlocking is another process that has nothing to do with the phone being stock or not if that makes any sense
Thanks for the answer. Do you know how or who can remove sim lock from a K20 Plus? The original network is MetroPCS.

Backups need to be i in twrp/Backups/LGxxxxxxxxxx (model/serial of phone) folder for twrp to see them, not on root of sd card.
If you haven't made a twrp backup, just do a backup of boot to create the proper folder and copy the 2016-12-31--20-18-59_NRD90U folder from the downloaded zip into it.
Thanks, now I am having another issue, I think I can resolve it I can't get twrp to mount /system rw so restoring backups is failing.
Is anyone else having this problem? What I did to fix it was open terminal in twrp, and type "mount -o rw,remount,rw /system" which seems to have worked, this was after installing the no-verify and a SU

You have to create a new backup folder , containing only one item. And then take the file that you have of all your real backups , and put it in that spot , if ur backup location is SD card , then this can easily be done useing Sun 3.0 micro SD card reader , or other method. The TWRP will see the file then. If ur backup is in internal memory , u just do the same thing. Useing minimal adb and fastboot (fromXDA). Otherwise TWRP will not see the backup file. There r a couple of videos on Utube as well , that cover this process.

Yes did that, got that sorted, thank you, I was asking specifically about if anyone else had system that was Read Only, would not allow Read write.
Is this based on a stock Google rom? I'm about to be getting this phone tomorrow through Metro, but I hate the LG UX UI and would rather it be vanilla Android 7.
Worked for mine but xposed makes it boot loop...
Is there any way to get Multilanguage Rom with German Translate on the Redmi 10x 5g pro ?
No, there isn't. I can translate all apks of tom. But i can't inpack rom (android 10 and miui 12).
I have found yesterday on Aliexpress a Redmi 10x that supposedly runs with Global Rom. On the screenshots in the description, however, the name redmi note 9 can be read you think there is something wrong?
Yes, that's right. Redmi 10x can run with global rom. But isn't your device. It is redmi 10x 4G. If you flash global rom for redmi 10x pro, your device will be bricked.
Why is this all so complicated :'(
Now I have seen that cect-shop sell the version Redmi 10x pro 5g with Mulilanguage, have written the support directly

if you want to add languages to the firmware and you already have translated apk files, then use uka. on forpda original theme. this tool can be flashed as a module for magisk and further used through the terminal the bottom line is that you need to take the archive of the stock firmware, unpack and take the images you need, for example: system, vendor, product. they in my case (redmi k30 ultra mtk dimensity 1000+) are stored in the dat.br extension, and just uka is able to unpack and pack these images correctly (for android 10 for sure). I think on your phone these images also have the extension dat.br and in this case you can work with them. I also advise you to replace files using root explorer, it works correctly with symlinks. and for example, if you change through solid explorer, then after the reboot there will be a bootlap, because the symlinks in the unpacked images will work.

if you describe briefly what needs to be done, then:
the first is to install uka (if you of course have twrp and magisk), install root explorer, terminal; download an image of the stock firmware for recovery, the files from which you have translated, drop the translated apk in a separate folder into the phone
the second is to extract images from the stock firmware archive: dynamic partions op list, system.new.dat.br, system.transfer.list, system.patch.dat; product.new.dat.br product.transfer.list product.patch.dat; vendor.new.dat.br, vendor.transfer.list vendor.patch.dat
third, go to the terminal, select in the utf-8 settings
in the terminal write:
su
then give superuser rights
then write:
menu
fourth, now you need to select unpacking the br image and write the path to the desired image
fifth, go through the root explorer to data / local / blabla UnpackerSystem / System and replace the translated apk files.
sixth, go to uka-build img image-register in fs config (then go to the folders where you added apk files, agree to everything and write the values as the program prompts (0 0 644 or 0 0 755), so you do with each folder in each section where added any files
seventh, you go back to the section to collect the img image and select item 5 there, there you will receive information about how much the img image weighs, take screenshots of the sizes for three images (system. vendor, product) this will be needed later to make edits to the dynamic partions list
eighth, you select the item: collect the br image, select the third item (collect from the folder size), then wait and write the number 4 if the program asks for the android version, select the compression level 0, and so on with all three images.
ninth, replace the changed images in the stock archive for firmware via recovery, also open the dynamic partions list and enter the largest size figure in bytes from the screenshots (which you did before) for each section in accordance with what the uka program wrote to you before.
that is, for example, it says product weighs 7230004, and your section weighs 7350000, you take and change 7230004 to 7350000. and this should be done only if your section weighs more than the stock one. the main thing is that in total all the sections written in this file do not weigh more than the super.img section there should be written on top (the number is the largest, I have about 8 GB)
tenth, after you have replaced product, system, vendor and dynamic partions list, you can try to flash your firmware through twrp or pitchblack recovery.
IMPORTANT POINT: if, when installing twrp, you needed to flash vbmeta, then during the installation of the modified firmware, you must first install the firmware, and then, without rebooting, install vbmeta, which you have, for example, from the archive for installing recovery. only then can you reboot into the system. Personally, on our phone so. But I advise you to write to me before that, if some points are not clear.

Do you need help with your MERLIN device ?
Read this FAQ: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...for-merlin-redmi-10x-4g-redmi-note-9.4225177/
Hello everyone and my apologies for my terrible English (I did this with the help of Google Translator) since I cannot find reliable information in my language (Spanish).
I just bought a Redmi 9T model M2010J19SG (4/64 GB, Android v10, MIUI v12.0.5, unmodified) and I would like to be able to restore some applications, as they were configured on my previous mobile (Galaxy S4 GT-I9500 Android v4.4.2 , rooted), for this I tried to use Titanium Backup Pro that I have been using for a long time for my backups and restorations but the Redmi does not allow it because I am not a root user on that phone.
Someone could help me, step by step, on how to install the appropriate TWRP on my Redmi 9T, to then be able to install and use the Magisk to root the phone and be able, using the Titanium, to restore those applications that interest me so much.
Thanks
First, unlock the bootloader by following this guide: https://romprovider.com/unlock-bootloader-redmi-9-power/?amp
Wait for 7 days max, and then try going to the fastboot mode and unlock it again. Do not log out your MIUI account on the device otherwise the timer would reset. Feel free to use the device while waiting, you wouldn't want to wait in the fastboot mode, do you? Hahaha jkkk
And then go to this post to download OrangeFox recovery: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...dmi-9-power-redmi-note-9-4g-redmi-9t.4263407/
And here, look for the fastboot instruction, follow that to flash OrangeFox to Redmi (DO NOT do the zip instruction, it wouldnt work on the stock MIUI recovery): https://wiki.orangefox.tech/en/guides/installing_orangefox
STAY ON THE RECOVERY ONCE YOU HAVE FLASHED IT!!!
Do not reboot to the system, if you accidentally do, just reflash the OrangeFox recovery as MIUI have already replaced it with the stock recovery.
Anyways after that, you should have a working recovery, now using a computer go to Magisk github release page, download the version 23 zip file: https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/releases
While still on recovery, connect your Redmi 9T to the computer using cable, it will show up as MTP device. Just copy over the magisk file I mentioned to the Redmi. I forgot you can actually download this and copy before unlocking your bootloader so you won't have to later.
Locate the magisk file in OrangeFox and then flash it. VOILA you're done! Reboot to system.
==
BACKUP YOUR FILES AND APP DATA!!! In case something goes wrong. I do not guarantee this would work. Feel free to get help though...
To uninstall magisk, duplicate the magisk zip then rename it to uninstall.zip - flash in the recovery as usual.
I know a simple thing but, use a pin code or a password so you would be able to unlock the /data partition in OrangeFox. You would see the unlock screen right away after booting to the recovery, just enter your code or password and you're good to go.
Sorry that no one answered you, i don't know perhaps right now you could have already figured out how to, but nonetheless this would be a reference to those who are about to do the same thing as you wanted.
I forgot you said TWRP, im sorry.
Anyway the TWRP link: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/recovery-3-5-a10-twrp-unnoficial-for-lime-redmi9t-beta.4233045/
The general steps are more or less the same. That post also contains instructions how to flash TWRP. Feel free to ask questions if you need help.
AJPuzonThank you, thank you and thank you very much for the explanation. I will follow your recommendations and when I finish I will report the results.
Also gonna put this here while I still remember:
It's very likely that the phone will fail SafetyNet once Magisk is installed. Hence no banking apps will work and you cant install apps that require Safetynet (they will be hidden) So here's what I did on mine to pass it again:
1. Go to Magisk settings (should be at the top right cog icon), turn on MagiskHide.
Now go back, tap the shield icon below (Superuser requests) MagiskHide is now visible, go to that. Tap Google Services and it will expand, check all the additional items under it.
- do this for all the other google apps that you have installed.
2. Go to Magisk settings again and the turn on Hide Magisk. Name it to whatever you want. Reopen Magisk using the new program name that you assigned it to. Reboot.
3. And then go ahead and clear the App Data of both Google Play Services and Google Play Store. Reboot
Additional steps for custom roms:
1. Go to modules (4th option below) and then install MagiskHide Props Config. Now reboot.
2. Go to Play Store and then install a terminal application. (Material Terminal is what I use in this case).
3. Open the terminal app, type props then press enter, after follow the instructions to find your device in the list, change your device fingerprint to that. Reboot once done.
4. Again clear the app data of Google Play Services and Google Play Store, and reboot.

The update has arrived.
Oh my God! I used the payload dumper to dump recovery.IMG flashed it, then re locked the phone, so I could update it with the OTA. However, afterwards it wouldn't boot, so I unlocked it, and now I'm locked out of my own phone. It says I have to activate it and asks for a password to an account I don't recognize. I've tried everything I can think of I've watched every YouTube video that that deals with this issue sort of, most of which I can't understand and most of them that I can understand are fake. Any thoughts on that? Looks like I'm going to have to buy a new phone.
