Question specific app notification wake up screen for no reason - Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra

I got my S21 Ultra (AT&T variant) a few months ago and noticed a strange behavior. some of my apps will force my phone screen on for some reason and I don't know if there's a setting to prevent that from happening. The 2 main ones that I know for sure that does this is the Amcrest Smart Home app and the older Amcrest View Pro app (I have both apps because I have older cameras that doesn't seem to want to connect to the newer Smart Home app)
Is there anything I can do to stop these apps from waking up the screen whenever it sends a motion detection notification? It's caused me to accidentally press random parts of the screen w/ my leg a few times.
Thanks!

screen randomly wakes up

My device is completely stock.
I have noticed that the screen will randomly wake on its own to the lockscreen.
If i get a notification it does this however will also do it with nothing apparently new having happened.
Any ideas?
I noticed this before on my P9-L:ite but haven't seen it yet on my P10. In my case, I believe it happens when the phone loses or regains internet connectivity. Since networks are kind of spotty where I am, it happens somewhat often.
i have the p10 plus and i have the same situation...... any solutions?
Mine only does this when receiving a snapchat from someone. Could it be app related?
My one week old P10 plus has the same problem. It happens when I lock the phone while any app is active (I tried with a few apps). However, it doesn't happen when I lock the phone while the home screen is active.
Has anyone found a solution?
Still interested in this–
started happening to me a few days back aswell; I noticed the change after shooting some balls with my phone in the pocket, screen facing the skin. At some point the phone got insanely hot. When I picked it up all sorts of s*** happened, as if my thigh was able to make touch inputs through the pants? Notification center / quick settings were all toggled randomly. Flashlight, geo location and hotspot were switched on whereas Wifi and Bluetooth were off (which is unusual). And the camera was running with fully brightened screen, which I think was main reason for the heat.
I wasn't sweating extensively; meaning the phone wasn't wet in my pockets or something–
And I don't know if the random screen wake up enabled my thigh to make the touch inputs or of something else happened which from then on let the screen randomly wake up– chicken and egg, you know :F

Notification screen wake

Hey guys,
Just got my phone in the mail today. One thing I have noticed is that notifications don't wake the screen up at all, no matter the app. I can't seem to find a way to turn it on either. I've used the app Glimpse Notifications on my G6 but it was a bit buggy and drained the battery.
I don't use the AOD because I'm not a fan, but does anyone know a way to ensure notifications wake the screen?
As far as I know without AOD on the only notification you'll receive is the LED indicator at the top of the screen. The screen won't light up when something new comes in.
Also, does anyone else notice that you can't double tap notifications to unlock the phone? You have to tap then swipe - can this be changed? It's super annoying.

Android Oreo introduced new Notification Channels. From Settings -> Notifications, you can specify the priority for each app. Anything below URGENT will not wake the screen when it comes in.
I spoke to samsung support, even if urgent - only native apps will wake up the screen, Like Samsung SMS.
Gmail or Whatsapp will not or any other app you install, only the once that came with the samsung rom installed
I use the app Glimpse Notification. It works very well.

The last 4 years Samsung has stop the faction to wake screen on with notifications...Instead you have AOD to notify you....
So the only solution is to use 3rd party app like ''Glimpse notifications'' that Works excellent with all samsung devices with no battery drain....
this is ridiculous.
I'm on 8.1 oreo latest build for unlocked Note9.
I turn off AOD, I have all apps notifications set to urgent.
Edge lighting works great with the screen on. With the screen off it's worthless. Nothing works with edge lighting and the screen off. And AOD off except the alarm app.
If its sms wake you want there are 3rd party sms apps that will wake the phone. but agree there should be a way. not even sure rooting the phone would do it.

[S10e] Issue with task/app switcher becoming partially unresponsive.

Hello ! I need help for a specific issue i have never heard happening on an android phone.
I have an Exynos S10e and the task/app switcher becomes partially unresponsive in specific conditions.
When the app switcher just appears, if i try to swipe somewhere (swipe to the side or swipe up to close an app) mid-way through the swipe, the screen suddenly stop recognizing my finger, i have to lift my finger and touch the screen again for it to function. Basically, i have to interact with the screen after the hardware layer updates to avoid this problem.
This issue only appears after the screen has been locked once in the session.
Basically if i reboot/shutdown my S10e, access my launcher and fiddle around with the app switcher, everything is fine. As soon as the screen locks and i unlock it, the issue reappears.
The problem exists with both the stock app switcher and the "task changer" from Good Lock. Also exists with both OneUi and Nova Launcher. I tried a lot of things and i'm up to date on the security updates, etc.
I wiped the cache partition, tried with and without the Always-On-Display, and that changed nothing.
Anyone experiencing the same thing ? Or a solution to suggest ?
(The issue also exists with my old Nexus 5 but the time window allowing the glitch to occur is extremely narrow.)

Android 10 update filled my phone with bugs (keyboard, bluetooth, camera, freezes)

I am not sure if anyone has encountered these problems too but the Android 10 updates have ruined the phone for me.
Bugs I encountered and that I haven't found a fix for:
The keyboard annoys me to hell and back because of the gesture controls. I have been using gestures before Android 10 and I had no problems with the keyboard, but now the whole bottom area of the screen is like a mine field. It happens at least 3-4 times everyday to write something and when i hit space it would bring me to home screen and/or writing next letter in google search.
Not only I can't properly use the keyboard, but I can't long press the emoji in FB Messenger when the keyboard is not opened, it would just bring me back to last screen (it sees it as a back gesture). Basically can't interact with bottom buttons in most apps that use portrait mode because the phone sees them as gestures and it's driving me nuts
Since the update I had to restart my phone about once a week because of different bugs regarding Bluetooth (it would turn off and refuse to turn back on without a restart), sometimes the camera refuses to take more than one photo before the shutter button becomes unresponsive and I have to restart the app (to be able to take only one more photo) or restart the phone to fix the problem
The phone sometimes freezes and becomes unresponsive, requiring a forced restart or a normal restart if i wait 1 minute to open that option menu for turning the phone off. Also, it won't turn back on automatically and won't turn on for the next minute even if i manually hold the power button.
All these only occurred after updating to Android 10. It was a dream phone like my S7 edge was before updating to Android 10.
I wanted to switch to iPhone but I was amazed by the fact that my S7 edge had no problems during the 3 years I've used it and I decided to continue buying Samsung phones, but now I am seriously considering switching to another brand that uses Android (that I can't think of, keeping the same performance and build quality besides Huawei which is in a weird spot now) or permanently switching to iPhone.
I'd appreciate it if you knew any fixes to the bugs I listed above, I found nothing. If not, what can be done about these?
Use google messenger

Samsung doesn't update own system apps from 2 months, and bugs listed by you are the inevitable result of this lack.
When Samsung will release a more heavy update (400MB or so, and not only 100MB of Google security patches) all these problems will vanishing, and anti-rollback protection will be restored.
P.S = Yesterday I've encounter a bug on Reminder app, that generate a Force Close (two times) when I tried to set a pre-suggested date.

Question Google clock timer not going off when screen off..

Hi,
Love my S21 Ultra, but I have one issue that im failing to solve.
I use Google Clock, and the alarm function works perfectly - never had it fail on me.
However the countdown function doesnt go off (ie, no sound or vibrate) if I leave it running in the background with the screen off.
If I turn the screen on after its supposed to have gone off, it then goes off, with a minus number of seconds on the screen.
Ive been through all the Samsung 'background app power saving' stuff, and made sure the Google Clock app is excluded (although if it was that id expect the alarm to fail too).
Handset is the 256Mb UK Three branded one, with latest official firmware, no rooting or anything like that.
Anyone come across this please?
thanks, George
How are the Do Not Dusturb and Sound settings during these issues?
Have you exempted Google clock to allow Notifications while sound is off or when DND is activated?
