how i could unlock the device with fingerprint while the screen turned off ??
is there a way or thirdparty tool ?
thanks in advance
The device cannot leave the fingerprint scanner always connected to its power, so it's not possible.
Android leaves/sets its power off when the screen is off.
To unlock the device "while the screen is off" to be ready to use it: put your finger over the button and then press it without release the finger from it (but obliviously release the button" click"). In this way the screen will turn on and in few milliseconds it will be unlocked.
you can download always on display app in google play store and on this active the home button.
then when your device is on always on display you can use finger print sensor.
I cannot find this anywhere, but I am looking for a way to make my fingerprint scanner to stay always active while the screen is off so that there is no need to actually press the button to wake up the phone before unlocking.
Please don't suggest unlock alternatives such as wave to wake or anything that isn't what I described above, all that I am looking for is a way to just touch - not press - the home button while the screen is off and locked and it will wake up and unlock.
I'm finding it quite difficult to turn on the screen of my XZ1C without unlocking the phone...
Sometimes I just want to look at the lock screen without the phone unlocking, but the fingerprint scanner reacts so quickly that the lock screen (along with any notifications) is gone before I've even read the time!!
Is there a way to set a delay (probably not) or set another button (vol? camera?) to wake up the screen without unlocking the phone? I'd rather not have to disable the fingerprint scanner, and I never had this issue with my Z5C.
Seriously?
People complaining about the fp-scanner being too fast nowadays?
As for solutions, you could always use a finger where you haven't stored the print.
Or use your fingernail to press the button.

That's what I'm doing - it's a bit awkward! On the Z5C there was just enough time to remove your finger before the phone unlocked so you could have a quick glance at the screen. It must use more battery to fully wake up the phone everytime the power button is pressed?
I guess "tap to wake" would have been another solution to my (admittedly small) problem.
Oh, come on now. Fast fingerprint scanner is a good thing. There shouldn't be such thing as too fast. I would simply "reserve" my middle fingers for checking the lock screen.
Even if I use the "wrong" finger, the lockscreen bounces to the left because it's tried reading the fingerprint which is also annoying when all I want to do is check the time and for any notifications!
a novel approach i just set up: when scanning your thumb, only scan the pad and not the tip. then you can use the pad to unlock and the tip to check the lock screen.
(doesn't fix the problem of the bounce tho)
Use this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jarsilio.android.waveup
Just wave your hand over the proximity sensor and the screen will turn on but won't unlock the phone if you have a lock.
Don't enable the lock screen functionality though, it doesn't support fingerprint unlock.
Lol why don't u just use a another finger?

look on the Play Store for Power Button to Volume Button by TeliApp, the app is old but still works and will allow you to use the volume down button as a second screen on button. it reverts back to being a normal volume down button once the screen is on. no root required. (I would post a link but XDA won't let me because I'm a new user)
Hi
I'm not using Iris Scanner to unlock my phone. Anyway I noticed the IR Led turning on kinda randomly on my phone.
If my screen is locked and I press power button to get to lock screen, IR led turns on. After I unlock my phone using fingerprint or pattern, IR led goes off.
Now if I do random stuff on my phone (open apps, and just play around phone) IR led will turn on/off without me getting any idea what's that behavior based on.
It's it supposed to do that? What's the point flashing IR led if it's not even used for anything?
If any of you have any information about this, please feel free to educate me/others.
Thank you.
Just got a 2nd hand sm n920c amd still in 6.0 no otw update availble, and its kinda annoying that i cant unlock the phone by just the finger print scanner. I mean. For you to unlock the phone using finger print scanner, you must first press the power button then place your finger in the scanner. If im not mistaken. It should unlock the phone just by placing your finger in the scanner. Im feeling that its an issue with the software because its working after pressing the power or the home button. Any help would be highly appreciated. And also when i press the power button to unlock the phone lines are showing up. Just like when you first turn your tv on, you will see colored lines.
You need to turn screen on first to unlock your phone with finger print... Work like this way on Note 5
Tip: You can turn screen on by pressing Home button with your finger on it... it will unlock "faster"
