Don't forget to read the "Announcement" ROM images will no longer be hosted.
Since a lot of people don't pay attention to the announcement here is a reminder....
For those of you, who are still hoping that a cooked WM6 will be available to download from this site you can stop hoping now Your "favorite" Cooks won't be able to post any ROM, hosted by this site, doens't matter if it's WM5 or WM6.

Yes, I am. Because some peeps and probably you too, have already announced that they will not use any ROM from any site. They will only use the ROM from the "Master Cook" here.
Do you want to RLOL?

You can stop hoping and praying now because you won't get any WM6 update for the Wizard or any older model from HTC. Most people already know that, but you probably still hoping I have no problem of using ROM from any Cook from any site. What would you do now? Keep on using the old ROM or "eat" your words and start to use the ROM from the so called "Non-Master Cook"?

Don't expect an official update. This is the reply I received from HTC:
Thank you for your enquiry concerning the HTC P3600 mobile device.
Unfortunately we will not upgrade our current devices to include the Mobile 6 software.? However, there will be new devices out which will include the software.
Should you have any other problem, please do not hesitate to call us. Your Local number can be found at http://www.europe.htc.com/support/cs_by_phone.html

There's the whole reason M$ has made the request....so OEM's can sell new devices instead of providing upgrades to existing devices. It's all in how much profit can they make from those of us that like the latest and greatest.

M$'s position is truely sad. Guess it is time to look for a phone that will run a version of Linux...
--M
By requesting to remove all roms from this site, M$ is basically killing this forum. People come here to test new updated roms on their phones. Now this really sucks. Now, is it possible to host roms elsewhere?
I'm Pissed
I guess I'll switch to a freakin symbian phone or ahh yes an IPHONE. This kind of crap really reminds me why I can't stand Microsoft! They are not just happy with getting our money.
we knew from the very start about MS totalitarian rule, of course we can work something out, like "we worked"(esp. the great ROM cookers) to make better, faster, and more stable ROMs than MS has ever made, maybe someone is already working out a plan, working around the "system", so that the whole forum will still be alive
I think the cooks must deside for themselves... if they want to place the roms elsewhere; there is no real issue... if they don't, I think it is going to be a less interesting board, the xda-developers, unfortunatelly.
But I think mickey$oft will hunt down every place where the roms reside, so....
I've never really liked Microsoft..*the only reason I don't run Linux is because my wife doesn't know much about it and we only have 1 computer now*..but it was bound to happen sooner or later. With things like people bricking the phones and the whole monopoly that Microsoft has. The only thing I hate is that Faria had upgrades planned for the 3.3.
But texasaggie, I couldn't bring myself to get an iphone. It cost too much for too little. I've just waiting around until a ppc starts to run Linux.

I guess torrents is the way to go. Since new roms comes very quickly and people would be more interested in the newest ones, torrents should able to stay alive until the next rom release.
M$ can go F themselves. BT everything, rapidshare, yousendit, megaupload or host it in some Cayman Island server. [email protected]@rds each & every one of the corporations.
one of the best sites no the net
hands down, you guys helped me through thick and thin so to all of you, noobs and developers alike, thanks for saving my nuts!!
Maybe M$ is just mad vista boched out
There are many other ways to post the roms
Hope the cooks won't have to waste too much time playing hiding games instead of doing important work
i just downloaded all of them...lol little over 7GB worth!
Harsh words
Ok, I'm probably gonna get killed for saying something like this, but can't you guys give Microsoft a break?
First off, without Microsoft, computers wouldn't be where they are today, the internet wouldn't be as big as it is today and your Wizards wouldn't be around. Sure, maybe some other companies would have filled the void and developed their own programs and things, but it's hard for me to imagine the way Microsoft has gone about developing programs and then marketing them to every man and his dog being replicated by anyone else with the same degree of success.
There are other devices and mobile operating systems out there already. But how many of them can do all the things that a Windows Mobile device can? And how many of them do it as well as a Windows Mobile device?
We can shout at Microsoft all we like, and rip into them forever about wanting to get more money from us for buying new devices. But who really has control over their software? Can we download O2 ROMs direct from Microsoft? Do T-Mobile update their phones via Windows Update like Microsoft update Vista, XP, etc?
AKU's have been released to mobile operators, and new opearting systems (WM6) have been passed over too. It is up to the operators to adapt the software and release it to us, it's customers, or at the very least the device manufacturers.
Until ALL Windows Mobile devices get a lot more memory, and can support a whole host of drivers (that they'll never use but have to to be there to cover other devices), updated ROMs will only come from operators or handset makers. Microsoft provide them with the updates, and then go back to working on the next lot of updates or new system.
So maybe Microsoft is at fault for removing ROMs from sites like this. But the real fault, and something they should definitely look into, is the fact that the people who are able and willing to tweak and change their system to suit the hardware, aren't the people they're giving the software to.
I don't like it any more than you guys do. I've only been using the site for the last couple of months, and that's been a time of a lot of activity with all the excitement of WM6 ROMs popping up and also AKU3.3 ROMs released etc. I would love the site to stay open, so that the brilliant "cooks" in this community could continue their work and support us for free, while the people we paid just sit their doing nothing with Microsoft's hard work in updating the software. But I can also understand where they're coming from, and simply ask that you take a more critical view of the people most of us probably got our phones from (operators like O2, T-Mobile, Cingular etc.) before having a go at the people that provided us with fantastic, if slightly flawed, software that is still better than everything else that's out there.
If it wasn't, why would we still be using it?
P.S. Just give me time to my girlfriend how much I love her before you torture me to death?
Basically taking down the ROMs from this site means moving the whole development projects to the "underground"!
There will be always a site to download the ROMs, only the legal aspcet will change and become (even more) questionable.
Sad, but true
See you again on some of the other sites...
Cheers,
Jago

As you can see from my post count, I dont blog too much. BUT i just had to say im thankful too you guys here who take time out of your lives to bring us your dumps, roms, themes and updates. to share them with us free of charge, so that i may countlessly flash my G1 with these goodies. im not much of a dev myself, sh*t all i know how to do is add some customs apps and sounds to an already awesome rom, whomevers rom it may be. If i wasnt such a broke a$$ mofo, some of my favorite devs' paypal accounts would be a bit heavier on my account. IM Pround to say that im running a Unlocked, Rooted G1. If it wernt for you guys here and all the information in this forum, my G1 would be stock and as boring as a sleepover at grand-ma's and for that I salute you!
The best things in life are free my friends, XDA-Developers.com is a prime example of this constant truth.
feel free to add your own thanks...

I hear the op's frustration - I feel it too and yes patience is required. We don't have a large amount of Dev's available and they have lives. This is all done for free. If you prefer more active development, I'd suggest a Nexus device next round which is the route I may take due to locked bootloaders and such

Agreed!
Were lucky to have the devs we have at all, we gotta remember as badass as our phone still is... it's already a 2 year old phone and devs among other people switch phones all the time.
Sent from my SM-N910T using Tapatalk
Devs switching phones is a big problem with older devices for sure. I'm not sure how many devs stuck it out waiting for the official MM to drop honestly.
I myself was all psyched for the note 7 since my note 4 is almost paid for now, but with a locked bootloader and no root I may to look elsewhere for my next device.
Check the section again and Overdrive just posted stock rom with mods available for it. And it's not that easy to start making roms when you get a software.
Here is the link.

Unless that was some bone dry sarcasm, you answered your own question (bold text in your quote). For the sake of clarification, the talented, generous devs who have immeasurably improved our Note 4 experience owe you nothing. You've paid money, likely a great deal of it, to Samsung/T-mobile and it took them 10 months to deliver an update. What have you contributed to the developers who use their own free time to work extremely hard and freely share the fruits of their labor (which puts the aforementioned profit-driven entities to shame) that entitles you to expect a custom fine-tuned ROM within "a few days"?
If you want to run MM the stock ROM is finally ready and waiting. You can even do so with root access and customize it to the extent of your ability... again thanks to the most valuable members of this community who receive little if anything more than our appreciation and respect in return.
There will be custom TW MM ROMs when and if developers are ready to take time out of their busy lives to create and release them. Whenever that happens to be, the members who participate and contribute what they can to this community will be extremely appreciative. Thankfully the group here is a friendly and helpful bunch. This subforum would be a ghost town if more shared the entitled attitude in this insulting joke of a topic. Waiting 10 months after release for a $$ "flagship" to be updated to the current OS by a company who wants you to continue paying them money is something to be upset about. Waiting... however long for a generous developer to rip that update apart and fine-tune it into something that they're willing to share with a (mostly...) supportive community is not.
I feel people took the OP a little too serious. I've been camping the forums for custom MM Roms since MM was released. Lucky the Note 4 is still popular and Samsung locking devices and making crappy changes has made a lot of Note 4 users not upgrade.

Perhaps because you and the OP are still unfamiliar with the culture here on xda and the hard work and complete selflessness exhibited by developers in practically donating hours upon hours of their time.
To try and catch you up: you don't ask for eta's, you don't display any form of entitlement, and you don't complain development (Basically just be respectful). Camp forums all you want but don't waste forum space unless you have a legitimate question, comment, or contribution.
Furthermore, anyone that eager for development should never buy anything other than nexus. And even in nexus forum, the above guidelines should still be followed.

most of them will say works with 910t specifically, but in my testing if found that over 90% of the N910F
ROMS works on the 910T and if they dont work they just need the data fix patch ......
as far as kernels just make sure that the kernel is 910f compatible and match the android version correcttly
EXAMPLE:
v5.1.1 with v5.1.1
v6.0 with v6.0
v6.0.1 with v6.0.1
NOT v6.0 with v6.0.1 (this may or may not work, if it does't youll have to reflash the rom or odin back to stock)
1. Does the ROM supports encryption out of the box?
2. Does it provide monthly security patches and updates via OTA?
3. If it encrypts the system by default, would it be able to install OTA updates without any issues?
4. Although I consider myself tech savvy, I want a Hassel free system and don't want to waste time tweaking (that's why I got Android one so that I don't have to worry about updates and security). So, Is there anything nagging about the ROM I should know before I flash?
Thanks for taking some time to answer my questions. I appreciate it.

... do you seriously expect people to give a A grade after market support the way you like and hassle free for free ...
just when you think you've seen it all ..
the rom also washes your car and using Ai "tweaks" it automatically so you don't waste your savvy to customize it to your liking ..so it basically reads your mind and then accurately predicts your tweaks so you can live hassle free ..you don't have to tap a single settings button again in your life
good considering a custom rom comes with more tweaks so if it wasn't for the auto mind reading Ai it might have given you more hassle with the tweaks than stock itself

well I feel I understood your question rather well. I would have ingnored but thought it wouldn't cost me anything to try and explain to you that being very entitled on the internet occasionally gives the opposite result of what you want ....so i guess i was trying to be nice and think of everyone when i tried to demonstrate in a comical way that you come off as super demanding ...xda has some traditions like no asking for eta's and so ..i think your question isn't exactly doing that ...but somehow doing something worse like asking for a commitment for future eta's ..so the answer from me , not the rom dev would be that ..no ..unless you donate , support and respect people who do things out of love in their time , then no , nobody can or should commit to providing you professional , full time , long term support ..that is the short answer that doesn't touch on your attitude regarding your personal preference and tastes which feel need to be considered ..most people come to xda for the love of tweaking ..tweaking or fine tuning is an art that is practised by people who love doing things the best way possible and something that gives people more , not less , personal choice and control over what happens on their phone ..of i wanted to be " not nice" i would have told you to go buy an iphone and keep in contact with Apple Care . I support open source but it wouldn't be the first time someone like you might make a developer put a price on his passion ..finally to end of with ..optimal performance is a very big collocation which demands extreme excellence ..if you don't understand that check the meaning carefully in a dictionary ..and it would certainly require tweaking and user compliance to achieve ..bevause a certain amount would be subjective ..if i had to guess perhaps you were asking if this rom is bugless and if the dev was intending on donating it and you long term support ..maybe try asking again in a less demanding way ..that way i might not bother to donate you more free unsolicited advice

I would kindly request you to re-read my original post. I didn't 'demand' anything. I just asked the pixel rom users if the things i require is already present in the rom or not. If not then fine, i will move to another one or compile myself from lineage os repo. I didn't demand that the devs should provide regular updates!!! And yes, i do donate to various open source projects , but even then i don't expect any personalization for myself from devs. I know those projects are for everyone, and not only for me. Although your advice turned out to be useless because of misunderstood context, thank you for the free advice.

In my years of rooting and modding Android phones I have never come across a device that is so poorly supported by Devs in XDA. I understand that a lot of continuous work goes into developing and maintaining a ROM but do these Devs even look at XDA to see what the community is saying or they just chilling on Telegram. Personally I am abandoning modding. It's not worth the bootloops, bugs, performance, software vs hardware incompatibility, having to spend hours restoring settings. Before devs perfect a version of Android here they are already on the next version just to say I'm first.
This used to be fun but not worth it anymore sorry to say.

I'm sorry you feel that way. This is partly why we have the XDA Telegram Policy; developers who post their work on XDA must continue to provide support on XDA, and may not use Telegram to provide exclusive support or updates. If you feel a developer is violating this policy, please report the ROM thread in question.
