When I enter into camera app brightness automatically turns down even when auto brightness & sunlight mode is off.
did anyone else get this problem?
I'm currently in MIUI 12.0.1.0 RJCEUXM based on Android 11.

hi,
i have a problem with my nexus one with a stock rom (2.3.6)
after unlock my phone (push power to turn on the display) the display brightness is always very low. i tried to setup the brightness manualy and automaticly but evertime i tunr off my display by pressing the powerbutton an dturning it on the brightness is very low and i have to click on display properties to get a higher brightness.
have some this issue too and knows a solution for this problem?

I'm having the same problem but on Cyanogen 7.2.0
The auto-brightness doesn't seem to be able to respond properly to the light conditions. I've reflashed twice now and the behaviour is persisting. I wonder if there's been some hardware failure.
I just upgraded to OOS 4.0.3 i falshed franco kernel and magisk. i have tasker and cf lumen installed but i froze them and i still have the issue.
Ok the issue is when i unlock my phone if i quickly drag down the status bar i can see what is actually happening. Potrait mode and adaptive brightness are toggled and then return back to the setting i have them on.
So i have portrait mode locked and adaptive brightness on. When i unlock my phone it switches to auto rotate and 50 percent brightness, then switches back to portrait mode and adaptive brightness. What on earth is going on lol.

I turn off the automatic toggel and adjust the brightness to where I want it, but after a while the automatic toggel is turned on again. ?

Only when restarting phone. It turn auto brightness on every time i restart my phone but after disable its fine.

Anybody else have problem with auto-brightness? For me the screen is too dark at night. I'm using stock firmware with all updates installed.
I have the same issue.... I still waiting for some custom ROM.... Maybe some one fix it

I'm having the same isuue on redmi 8. But i think it's due to MIUI 11 or some aggresive adaptation. I have a redmi 6 which have the same issue (although it has no auto-brightness), the screen gets too dim with no reason (as if i scroll the brightness bar to the lowest setting).
I have the same problems of auto brightness which is too dim on dark places, is there any solution even with root ??
Yes , there is actually a solution : Turn Off Automatic Brightness. Why do you guys turn on Automatic Brightness ? I never set it to Automatic.... first of all, Auto Brightness will waste more battery.... I just keep my Brightness to about 25% always... no matter if it's day/night...
Screen stays dim after waking from screen timeout
Auto brightnes is off, brightness is at 100%, color is set to standard,
after screen timeout screen dims and when touching it to keep phone awake it does not go to 100% brigtness even though the brightness bar is still at 100%, and then i have to slide the brightness bar to lower it and back to full.
It is very annoying having too do that every time i tocuh the screen trying to keep phone awake.
One solution would be to set screen timeout longer, but then i would have to remember to lock the phone every time...
Another would be to keep it at auto brigthness which is fine in direct sunlight but sucks as soon as the sensor is in the shade
It is latest stock firmware on rooted/unlocked phone
Did you replace your display?
Display brightness works correctly only on android 9miui10.3.5. So fastboot flash it, then check display brightness, then upgrade to whichever rom you want and check if it still works well(some weird hardware sensor issues in miui software updates)
